chapter fourteen- Kagome's chance
The two days were up and Naraku was beaming laughing he looked to where his new wife was curled up on the floor cold, hungry and shivering violently. For the past two days he tried to take her and make her his wife fully but he had underestimated her power and she had fourght him off everytime. He tried starving her and forcing her into the cold so she would beg him to help her but she never did.
It irratated him the way she said nothing and curled up into a little ball on the floor. All of that would change today. He would break her spirit...
An evil smile appeared on his lips as he dressed. There was loud sounds comming from outside. The sounds of men and horses and weapons clashing together. He smiled they were almost ready.
He dressed and walked over to the sleeping Kagome. She slept so peacefully and for a moment he thought she were her, and was going to push away a strand of hair covering her beautiful face...
"Fuck" he growled "This stupid human heart. Get up!"
He grapped her arm, harshly and shook her awake. She cried out at the site of him and tried to force him to let her go.
"Not today, darling. I have something to show you" He dragged her off the floor and out of the room.
She was terrified of what he was going to do. Where was he taking her?
Suddenly she noticed someone was following behind them, it was Kanna and she followed behind without a word, gazing into her mirror.
That seemed to reasure Kagome because if she didn't seem worried then it must be okay. She tried to forget the fact that this girl didn't show worry, or fear.

He dragged her outside and pushed her up onto one of the waiting horses, a little white mare, while he climbed onto a big black stallion, who had eyes that showed a past strength and pride that was all tamed now. Kanna climbed onto a small pony Kagome looked at her with worried eyes. For a moment they locked gaze but Kanna's pale eyes revealed nothing.
Kagome also noticed that in front of them were rows apon rows of soldiers, hundreds maybe thousands. She looked at Naraku and he smiled.
"You'll see my sweet" He whispered and then as the army in front of them advanced they began to follow.

Kagome gasped in fear. They were at the top of a very high hill overlooking the entire forest surrounding the her fathers castle and village. The army was beginning to towards the forest they sword glinting in the light.
She knew what he was going to do now, steal her fathers kingdom and slaughter all the people. Leons army were weak from fighting the demons and they would fall very soon.
Kagome turned to look at Kanna, but she was staring into her mirror as if it held some special power over her.
'Don't worry' Kanna thought to herself 'Do you really think the forest and Midoriko will let them pass?'

Indeed Midoriko knew of the advance on the unsuspecting Leon and was furious. As she ran through the forest, riding on the transformed Kilala, the forest grew thicker, tangled and dangerous, reacting to her fury.
She could see the light at the end of her forest and though she was afraid she knew she had to confront him now and save her home.
She could see the soldiers running towards her with swords but the moment they saw her they turned and ran away like cowards thinking ghosts were attacking.
The moment Kilala and she stepped out of the forest Naraku's eyes went wide.
"Midoriko..." He whispered looking towards where the ghostly figure stood at the edge of the forest, her head held high in defiance.
"Naraku!" She growled and though she was so far away everyone heard her talking "How dare you do this! How dare you defile my forest!"
He stared at her in awe and anger. "Men advance and kill them all!" He yelled
Kagome looked towards the castle tears in her eyes, if they burned the forest her family would be unprotected and anyone be it Naraku or the Inu-youkai could attack them.
As the men ran towards her Midoriko stood in front of them arms wide "You will not hurt them, my soul will not allow it"
Kagome felt the earth tremor as the forest began to grow, faster and larger, towards the castle engulfing the village and the castle and everyone in it.

The power looked around them as the trees and plant came towards them, but for some reason they weren't afraid and as they were swallowed they let themselves change feeling in their hearts that they would be safe.
When Kagura saw the trees she ran away as fast as she could and disapeared on her feather but Leon didn't care, all he knew was the peace he felt, a peace which he had not felt for many years.

In all the confusion as Naraku screamed orders and his mne ran away frantacly Kagome looked on her home in wonder when she turned and saw Kanna was staring straight back at her she heard the signal.
"Run away Kagome!" Kanna yelled and only Kagome seemed to hear "Towards the forest..."
Kagome did as she was told and urged the horse to the forest. Not knowing what was going on.
a/n: just so you know Midoriko's power revolves around the forest (somehow it just happened) don't be upset i guess you could say i really changed her character.
