InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Demon Song ❯ The Full Moon Makes People Stupid ( Chapter 3 )
I just wanted to let everyone know, phycho_bitch (p-b) and Aurora_thorn (A-t) as well as Fuki-ti, the people in the Author Notes (AN) are two girls and a fluffy marsupial obsessed with Dove bars… (AN Fuki: HEY!) Don't ask >.< It's just a sidebar conversation, so if it's confusing you, just don't pay attention to it. If you understand it, it's just like commentary, the narrator is telling the story and they are commenting on it. Oh, I decided to add a surprise to this chapter, read on:
Previously in chapter 2:
As soon as the men woke, they were going to head out for Kimara. Finding the woman Sango had talked about wouldn't be too hard, but Kikyo still had her doubts. It was strange, why was Kikyo so doubtful anyways? Everyone else seemed so sure it was fine. Kikyo decided to worry about it when they got there. By the size of the lumps on each of Inu Yasha, Sesshomaru and Miroku's heads, it might be a while.
Chapter 3: The Full Moon Makes People Stupid
Inu Yasha was furious with Miroku. Seriously, it was only one gallon of lighter fluid, how dumb could you get? Sesshomaru wasn't much better, giggling like a little ninny girl.
Inu Yasha decided to take a walk to clear his head. Walking along the road he spotted a woman sitting by a spring off to one side of the spring. He took note of her tufted ears sprouting out of waist length fire-red hair. She was swishing her feet around in the water. She was obviously a traveler, judging by the worn packs at her side.
Inu Yasha didn't notice when the fox demon's ear twitched slightly. She whirled around with a double-headed axe in her hand.
"Whoa, hold on a sec…" Inu Yasha stood rooted to the spot as the demon advanced towards him. Her eyes were slitted, she watched his every move.
"Don't move a muscle dog boy." She said in a harsh, commanding whisper. Inu Yasha new that the woman was bluffing by the way she was holding her axe. No trained person would hold an axe that big in one hand alone. Well, not a woman that is… (AN p_b: Sexist *@&%$#) (The contents of the AN were too mature for a PG-13 rated story, sorry for the inconvenience!) (Just joking)
Inu Yasha slumped to the ground in mock defeat,
" You got me… WHOA!!! Watch where you swing that!" The fox demon had one handedly swung the axe with as much power as any man could with two hands. (AN p_b: HA! A-t: What comes around goes around…) Inu Yasha scrambled to his feet, drawing Tensaiga. This lady could do some serious damage to my ego… thought Inu Yasha.
"I don't want to fight you, ignorant fool. I am but a traveler looking for a way to get to the city of Kimara." Inu Yasha considered what the woman had said for a moment. Kimara, eh, that's where we're going. Ignorant fool? Then again, she doesn't seem like the type to lie…
"My friends and I would be glad to take you with us; we're headed there as well." The woman, who Inu Yasha realized he didn't even know her name, looked at him suspiciously.
"Fine then." She said, and then under her breath she added, "Let's hope your friends aren't as stupid as you are, or I might be lost forever." She shuddered.
"HEY! I heard that! What's your name anyways?"
"My name is Maeka." Inu Yasha turned to lead the way to the camp. Maeka raised an eyebrow, he might be stupid, and arrogant, she thought, but he's hot!
Author Note
physco_bitch: Hehehe, I surprised everyone by adding a kick ass girl!!!
Aurora_thorn: Inu Yasha…hot??? >.< you've got to be shitting me….
Fuki-ti: I like dove bars…drool… ^.^
P_b & A-t: *glare* *dove bar melts*
Fuki: Shutting up…..
" So, Maeka, you're traveling to Kimara as well?" Sango asked. It was going to be so much fun to have around another feminist, besides Kikyo (personally Sango thought that Kikyo had a nasty case of PMS).
"Oh, yes. I'm, err, going to train my healing powers with a certain demon of the woods. She is very good, my village's healer said she was the best, yah…" Maeka looked oddly nervous. Kikyo was sulking in a corner, but she didn't miss a thing. Her odd strength, nervousness and the coincidence about Kimara, it was all so strange, it somehow didn't seem right.
"That is so interesting! So what kind of demon is this woman?" Sango and Maeka left chattering. Kikyo sighed and pulled herself up. She had work to do.
Inu Yasha found Maeka very attracting. No matter how hard he tried he couldn't get her out of his head. Unluckily Miroku and Sesshomaru couldn't either. They all bickered over whom would sit next to her at the table, who would get her used bath towel ECT… But Inu Yasha was sure that Maeka liked him the most. The little things, a flutter of the eyelashes, a shy playful look was all Inu Yasha needed.
One night Inu Yasha decided to take a hike up to the hill near their camp to see the full moon. He heard rustling behind him. He swiveled eyes racking the darkness for a sound, any sound, that would give away the snoop.
"Calm down Inu Yasha, it's just me!" Maeka laughed. Inu Yasha sighed as he settled back against the grassy side of the hill. He loved the sound of Maeka's laugh. It made him feel so warm and safe.
"Why are you up here?" Maeka asked curiously. Inu Yasha smiled.
"To look at the moon." Suddenly Inu Yasha felt embarrassed. To look at the moon? How childish of him! Maeka would not be impressed by a sissy half demon who likes to look at the moon! Ironically, Maeka smiled.
"Me too!" Inu Yasha did not catch the secretive grin that flitted across her face. He was too blinded by her beauty. (AN p_b: stupid Inu Yasha…) Maeka slid down next to him in the long grass. They stared up at the moon for a long time, both of them entranced by its light. Then Maeka turned to look at Inu Yasha. He felt her eyes on him and he turned his head slowly. They were so close to each other that their noses were almost touching. For a moment their eyes met. Inu Yasha could feel her breath on his face. Slowly, hesitantly Inu Yasha drew his face closer to her. Their lips met and a warm calm spread over Inu Yasha's body. They broke apart. Maeka smiled shyly and Inu Yasha felt a large grin spread across his face. Suddenly a piercing scream sliced through the air.
"HOW DARE YOU BITCH!?!?" Kagome burst from the trees. Her face was contorted in a mask of hatred as she charged at the unsuspecting Maeka. On impulse Inu Yasha jumped in front of Maeka.
"DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH HER KAGOME!!!" He yelled helplessly as she pushed him aside crazily. Her mind was set on Maeka. Kagome raised her bow. The tip of her arrow was inches away from Maeka's perfectly sculpted nose.
"THIS IS FOR INU YASHA, BITCH!!!" Maeka's hand grabbed the bow, but not fast enough. Kagome's arrow buried itself deep into Maeka's shoulder. Maeka screamed, horror and anguish spread across her beautiful face. By now Inu Yasha came to Maeka's rescue. Ignoring the fuming Kagome, he picked up Maeka carefully as not to brush her wound. He carried her back to camp, leaving Kagome behind him to cry.
At camp Kikyo carefully bandaged Maeka's wound. She would be better in a few days and they could resume their journey to Kimara. Kikyo smiled to herself. It was her, of course, who clued the little bitch in about Maeka and Inu Yasha's "astronomy outing". Kikyo knew that the next few weeks tension between Inu Yasha, Maeka and Kagome would be high. The love triangle would give Kikyo a chance to snoop around and find out more about Inu Yasha's new little friend. Too bad for Inu Yasha, he got to be the guinea pig!
The tension in camp was indeed high the next few days. Kagome cried every night and moped around, her bloodshot eyes sorrowful. She felt unloved and cast aside. Sango tried to comfort her, but she didn't help too much. Inu Yasha refused to talk to her. Every time they came in contact with each other Inu Yasha ignored her.
Inu Yasha had also become grumpy and snapped at the other members of the group whenever Maeka was not near. When they were with each other they never failed to give each other a giant kiss. Maeka had become Inu Yasha's shadow, she clung to him and praised him whatever he did. It was sick.
The one person besides the Inu Yasha and Maeka who was happy was Kikyo…well, sort of. Inu Yasha had finally gotten over her and gotten himself a proper girlfriend. And yet she realized that Maeka wasn't the one for Inu Yasha, it just didn't feel right. Kikyo had tried to find out more about Maeka, but without a last name or even a place of birth it was almost impossible. Maeka didn't seem harmful, she was charming and sweet. A little too sweet. Kikyo decided that she would feel much happier when they got to Kimara.
So, what did you think??? I hope everyone liked it. I hope someone will actually review me besides Aurora_thorn. *hint, hint* look for my next chapter. Sorry this one took so long. Tell me if you liked it, what I should change, ect… see ya!
