-Jarogajin's Palace-

"My lady?" a man servant called. Jarogajin was currently sitting in the garden with the empty shell of Sesshoumaru at her side. His soul was sealed firmly in the marble around her neck.

"Cannot you see I am enjoying an evening outing with my husband?" Jarogajin's glare sent a shiver down the fox demon's spine.

"F-forgive me, my lady," the lowly demon uttered. "But I think there's something you really should see."

"Whatever it is can wait until later. Now off with you," Jarogajin waved away the man with her hand.

"But, Lady Jarogajin, there are some developments--"

"Did I not tell you to leave?!" Jarogajin stood up and loomed over the servant. Her usually slate gray eyes changed to the color of pitch black and she bared her fangs at the servant. He fell to the ground and held a paw in front of his face as he quivered in fear.

"Oh, please, Mistress! This inferior servant begs your forgiveness!" he turned onto his stomach and graveled. "I had no intention to aggravate you, my lady! I simply thought it best for you to know that the young human girl that was attached to your husband has been spotted. My greatest apologies for angering you!"

Jarogajin straightened and her eyes returned to placid gray. She tilted her head curiously.

"The human girl, you say?" Jarogajin placed a finger on her chin. "Yes, I recall such a girl. She was the child who foolishly vied for my dear Sesshoumaru's affections. She disappeared quite a while ago. Thirteen years in fact. Her name escapes me at the moment, but she was quite adorable. I had thought it quite a pity that she escaped my grasp. She would've made such a pleasant playmate for my children. Such a lovable pet."
Jarogajin's children were not related to her by blood. They were demons created by her magic; they were about half the size of an average human, degigrade hind legs (like a raptor), thin arms with large talons, black scaly skin with orange manes running down their backs to the tips of their long tails. They had steely gray eyes and razor sharp teeth. These creatures were called Djinn and they were actually rather peaceful, generally. They were often given humans to 'play' with. Although their kind of playing involved pouncing, disemboweling, dog piles, and other little games that would be fatal to humans. These creatures have the minds of a child and never mean to kill the humans they 'play' with. They just don't realize how fragile mortals are. And if the accidentally kill a human, Jarogajin comes in later, picks it up, and gives them a few toy balls to play with until she can secure more humans for their enjoyment.

"Well, I won't be so careless this time," Jarogajin hit her fist onto her palm. "Thank you for telling me, dear servant. I shall attend to this immediately. My love, you shall be patient, yes?"

'Sesshoumaru' stared at her with empty eyes. Jarogajin, in her delusion, accepted this as a yes. She began her walk through the garden paths toward her palace. The servant lifted himself to his knees and breathed a sigh of relief. Just as he did so, Jarogajin paused.

"Oh my. This isn't good at all. It seems I'm still quite frustrated from before," she sighed. "I suppose I will punish you for that, my servant."

The fox demon became rigid. He was about to speak in his defense, but Jarogajin held up her hand without even looking back.

"Punishing you is the quickest way to vent my nerves. Hmm, Sesshoumaru, my Lord, please be a dear and make this servant's life a living Hell. No need to kill him, just torture him until I get back please."

She flashed a smile at the servant.

"No need to fear, my servant. I simply do this to calm myself, it has nothing to do with you. You are a fine little demon. Remember I love all my servants as if they were my own offspring. Now where was I? Oh, yes, Sesshoumaru, if you please."

Sesshoumaru's vacant body flashed over to the lowly demon. Before the servant could even manage a shout, 'Sesshoumaru' placed his palm over the boy's face and squeezed just enough to cause him much pain, but not enough to kill him. Jarogajin smiled her approval then continued into the castle.

Once inside she walked to her surveillance room. This room was made from plain white rock, save the reflecting pool in the center. Through it, she could see anything within a five-hundred mile radius of her castle. Glancing into it this time, she saw what looked like the inside of a common village hut. She noticed in particular the small girl sleeping in one corner of the room. Jarogajin recognized the human's adorable face and black hair. A wicked smile spread across her lips.

"I can hardly believe it. That is the human who traveled with my Sesshy before we fell in love. It's a shame that pathetic toad demon stole her away somewhere before I could collect her myself. I wonder why my reflecting pool did not locate her. Then again my reflecting pool is easily blocked by even the weakest magic shields. I suppose not all my charms are perfect."

Jarogajin inspected the image of the girl closer.

"It appears she had aged. Such a terrible flaw of mortals; aging. Nothing like demons such as myself who retain their splendid beauty for eternity. Nonetheless, she is lovely. I aim to take her for myself. And I always get what I want."

A sneer appeared on her lips and she strode from the room back out to the garden. There she found her love, 'Sesshoumaru' still clenching the pesky servant's head. She strolled closer and beckoned him off.

"That's enough now, my love, I feel much more relaxed. You may let the servant go."

The soulless body obeyed, releasing the demon's head. Yet instead of rising, the boy fell limp on the ground, his eyes rolled into the back of his head and his mouth hung limp. There was no life left in him.

"Tsk, tsk, what a shame. It appears you held him for too long," Jarogajin kicked the body slightly to make sure it was dead. "Oh well. I'm sure you didn't mean to. If the servant were alive, he would understand."

Jarogajin plucked a red rose from the garden's edge. As soon as her fingers touched it, the flowers petals darkened to pure black. Humming idly, she wedged the flower in the servant's ear. Satisfied, she called for another servant to dispose of the body.

"Please give this servant a proper burial," Jarogajin paused and rethought her command. "Actually, I don't think the Djinn have been fed today. Fresh meat would be a lovely treat for them. Give this body to my children instead. They will be most pleased."

The servant flung the dead body on its back and hurried off to do as he was told. Jarogajin ambled over to 'Sesshoumaru' and hooked her arm through his. She kissed his cheek lovingly and stoked his fur pelt resting over his shoulder (A/N: Every girls dream, right? To pet Sesshy's fluffy).

"It's a marvelous, day, wouldn't you agree, my handsome Sesshoumaru?"

The haze inside Jarogajin's necklace pendant swirled like a turbulent storm.
