He stared at her with his wide golden orbs, wishing she said something immediately. It didn't matter what it was as long he could hear her sweet voice, she could yell for all he cared but he needed to listen to her musical tone of voice. Kagome was very shocked to find him there and although she had a soft smile on her face; she didn't know what to do. She nervously breathed in and out a few times; Inuyasha's gaze was making her uncomfortable so Kagome just turned around. Inuyasha wasn't sure about what she did but he wasn't going to say anything, too afraid to scare her and make her run away. `Is she going to tell Myoga? What if she knows that brat Kouga and tells him to tell his daddy to fire me? What if she is going to the police to arrest me?' he decided to follow her from far behind, making sure that whatever she was going to say wasn't harmful which in case it was, he would be ready to run away. As Kagome went to talk to Kouga Inuyasha stood behind a car, following her with his eyes as she approached the rich kid.
“What's wrong babe? You leaving already?” Kouga said and Kagome faked a smile.
“Yeah, well… I just got a call from my mom and she said she needed the car; it didn't matter if it was still wrecked but it's an emergency so… I'll come back later, alright?” he nodded.
“Sure and you really don't have to pay for it, you just come and tell the manager that Kouga told you that you will get it for free and if they don't believe you tell them they can call me.” she smiled again and shook her head.
“Once again, thanks but it's not necessary…” Kagome looked back to see that Inuyasha was spying her, he hid behind the car thinking she didn't saw him; she turned to gaze at Kouga. “We'll talk later; I have to go now… see you at school.”
Kagome quickly walked towards her car, she was ready to take off but not before looking at Inuyasha for the last time; it felt as if time stopped when they caught each other's eyes. He sighed as he saw her turn her eyes to the road and drive away; he knew something was wrong with him by staring at this girl in such a pleading way, as if he was hoping she didn't leave. He didn't even know her name but his heart send him strange shocks of emotions inside him just by looking at her, that girl provoked unrecognized feelings inside him which made him feel safe.
“Damn wench…” he mumbled under his breath, making a useless effort to drive her away from his thoughts.
“Inuyasha, what did you do to that girl?” Myoga asked concerned and he rolled his eyes.
“I stole her money last night and she was so scared to come to me that she just ran away.” Myoga stared at him concerned and soon let out a short chuckle.
“You become funnier everyday, are you already done with that car?” Inuyasha looked back and saw some oil and grease falling from under the car; he mentally cursed the girl for distracting him while he was working.
“No, I have to repair a few things under that… by the way, do you know that girl?” Inuyasha uttered unconsciously, realizing what he just said he wanted to kick himself for asking Myoga something like that.
“The girl who just left?” he nodded, knowing that he couldn't escape from it now. Myoga thought about it for a second. “No, but I think she might be Kouga's new girlfriend… or maybe just one of his many girl friends, who knows… you better get back to work,”
Inuyasha scoffed and got under the car again to repair it; Myoga's words seemed to make sense to him which drove him mad. `She couldn't be interested in a bastard like that brat… I bet she knows what a player he is so why get involved with someone like him? And why the fuck am I thinking if she likes him or not? I don't care about the girl… I don't like her and I regret the day I robbed her! Not for what I robbed but who I robbed, if I just waited for someone else I would have prevented all these uncomfortable meetings and thoughts.' he growled lowly and kept on working.

Kagome calmly drove around the city; she wasn't scared not even the night she was robbed she felt scared. She might have been frightened at the beginning but once she saw his angelical face looking back at her, the feeling went away. But now what really concerned her was why did she run away? Why was she so afraid of the confrontation? If seeing him made her secure, why did she just walk away like that? She stopped at the sight of a red light and sighed heavily; this man, he was very mysterious and different which intrigued her. `He's a thief…' her mind reminded her. `You shouldn't get involved with people like him… he will only bring you troubles, please don't make something stupid… think about your bright future.' Kagome sighed again, feeling how her heart lifted 5 times it original weight, making it hard for her to breathe.
“I can't go back…” she mumbled to herself as she turned on the radio.
Kagome was annoyed to herself, love songs were in every station for her disgrace. There was only one thing that Kagome hated, love. To her, love was a careless matter which in her book didn't even really exist. According to all the romantic novels she read, love was described as a way to make the girl suffer, then make her happy for a few minutes, make her suffer again and then live a stupid lie called happy ending, which she considered it only a way to let the authors end their books. Kagome turned off the radio irritated, other of the reasons she had always despised love was because she had never experienced it either, something that made her hopes sink lower each time she looked at a couple in love.
“Mom is going to kill me…” she muttered as she gawked at the wrecked front of her car.
Kagome thought it would be better for her to stop and think about her options, she parked the car on a side and tried to think. `Maybe I could go back, there's nothing wrong in going back… but what if he asks me why I left? And then I would be speechless and he will mock me and I will feel like a total idiot for running away from him for a stupid reason that I still don't know!' Kagome mentally yelled and hit her head softly on the steering wheel. She looked at her watch to reveal that she had 3 hours before dinner; Kagome could still go back and ask them to fix it for her, she took a deep breath and made a nod with determination.
“Alright, I'm going back and I'm telling him that I want my car fixed and he's gonna give me the date to pick it up and then I'm going back home to have a nice and calmed dinner with my brother and my grandpa.” she gulped hard and nodded once again like before, she started the car and was ready to go back when she heard her cell phone. “Hello? Kagome Higurashi speaking,”
“Hi Kags! Hey! Wanna come to my house this afternoon?” Sango asked and Kagome thought about it for a second.
“I'm not sure… I'm supposed to have lunch with my grandpa and Souta.” she said, which reminded her of the food her mother asked her. She got out of her car and walked towards a store to buy something to eat.
“Oh, c'mon Kags! It will be fun!” Kagome rolled her eyes, Sango was behaving differently lately.
“Alright, I'll be there.” she heard her friend squeal.
“Yeah! Great, see you this afternoon… kisses!” Kagome held her phone away from her ear as she heard the dial tune, she felt a little awkward to hear her friend sending her kisses through the phone.
`What is wrong with Sango? She had never acted this way since yesterday… she is very weird now, maybe she's just trying to be someone new… for her own good I hope.' Kagome thought as she paid for her food; she grabbed it, thanked her cashier and went back to her house to find her grandfather with her little brother playing cards at her porch. She smiled closing the door as she carried the food in one hand, Kagome walked towards them.
“Hey guys… missed me? I sure missed you.” she said as she looked at them being concentrated.
“Bullshit,” Souta let out and Kagome hit the back of his head outraged.
“Ouch! What was that for?” Souta asked angrily, his big sister placed her hands on her hips.
“Don't swear! Don't you know how tacky that looks?” Souta rubbed the back of his head as he grunted.
“Calm down `mom', we were just playing bullshit…you know, the cards game.” he rolled her eyes and Kagome stuck her tongue at him as she went inside with the food.
Kagome placed the food on plates and called them to eat; they had a peaceful lunch as her grandfather told them some stories about them when they were little. Souta and Kagome washed and dried the dishes as their grandfather placed them in the cupboards. Later, all of them went to the living room to watch TV, Kagome was drowned in her thoughts. She was dying of curiosity trying to figure out the reason why Sango wanted her to go to her house. Kagome was so concentrated in her thoughts that she didn't notice that she was moving her leg as if she was shivering; her grandfather made her woke up when she placed his hand on her shoulder.
“What is it Kagome? Are you worried about something?” he asked and Kagome gave him a small smile.
“No, my friend wanted me to go to her house this afternoon but… that's all.” he nodded comprehensively.
“If you wanted to go, I'd understand it.” she shook her head.
“Oh, no. Mom said that I should stay with you and I want to be good and listen to her.” Kagome excused herself and her grandfather sighed.
“Darling, it's not necessary… you go and have fun with your friend, I can take care of myself and Souta very well, I'm not that old… go and have a nice time.” he smiled and patted her back softly.
“But what if mom…”
“If your mom asks, I'll tell her that you have my permission.” he winked at her and Kagome smiled softly before giving her grandfather a tight hug.
“Thanks grandpa.” she kissed his cheek and went upstairs to get changed.

Inuyasha walked out of the mechanic, a good thing about his job was that he didn't need to stay there the whole day. He was called whenever he was needed and he still received a misery in exchange of his hard work. Inuyasha gazed at the 200 dollars he had made that week, sighing as he placed them in his pocket. He had to go to his apartment and change his clothes to go out again and start with his night business which will provide him enough money to survive. Inuyasha heard the beeping of his old cell phone, he checked the number and he recognized it immediately. For a few seconds as it made a beeping sound, he stared at it deciding whether or not he should answer. Inuyasha rolled his eyes and placed it on his ear.
“What now Naraku?” he asked annoyed and heard a small snarl.
“I just found the address of someone who you might be interested in, this could be the best way to repay me for all the low percentages you have brought me lately…” Inuyasha grunted.
“Cut the crap, just tell me the name.”
“The last name is Taija, you might have heard of it… they have so much money that they could even wipe their ass with 100 dollar bills.” Inuyasha let out a dry chuckle.
“That rich, huh? No, I've never heard about Taija. Give me the address, I might get lucky tonight.” he said and Inuyasha entered to his 70's rusty old mustang.
“Pun intended?” Naraku asked as he laughed, Inuyasha mocked him and heard Naraku's sneer stop. “I've already deliver it to your apartment, it's in your usual clothes…”
“What the fuck? Who the fuck told you to do that?” he yelled furious.
“Don't worry; I would cut my hands if I had to touch your underwear… I sent someone I trust and someone who knows very well your underwear, see you later tonight at your apartment Inuyasha… and bring my money.” he soon heard the dial tune and threw the cell phone to the back seat.
Inuyasha drove slowly back to his place, one thing he never liked to do was return to the piece of crap that he called home. `Home… its more like a dumpster, I sleep in a half broken place filled with trash, walls are about to fall down and even rats would make the place look nicely.' he thought as he parked his car in front of his building. Inuyasha walked to his apartment in the 7th floor, his elevator had been broken since forever and he was getting used to climb the stairs to reach his room. He opened the door lazily and saw his platonic love sitting on his bed.
“Don't you ever feel like trapped in this hole?” Kikyo asked while she was reading a magazine.
“What are you doing here Kikyo?” he asked, placing his keys back in his jean pocket.
“Naraku asked me to do a delivery for him since everyone else is working… annoying but it's worth the pay.” she smiled and Inuyasha sat next to her.
“What is he going to fuck you or is he going to give you 1000 dollars?” he asked and Kikyo placed her hand on his leg.
“How many times do I have to tell you that money had nothing to do with our break up? I just felt like we didn't have chemistry anymore…”
“Oh right! And that's way two days later you were already all over Naraku's cock.” Inuyasha said in an infuriated tone, Kikyo merely sighed.
“Believe what you want honey… I'm out,” she kissed him on the lips fiercely.
Inuyasha didn't stop her, he never did. The way her lips managed to put him some spice in his life, reminded him why he was there. Inuyasha would always feel something for her, either it was sympathy or love or whatever it was that wanted him to be with her. Right when he was enjoying the fervent kiss Kikyo was providing him, she pulled apart. Kikyo quickly got up and slammed the door on her way out; Inuyasha closed his eyes tightly concentrating on why he had returned to his apartment.
“I better check out that address.” he reminded himself.

Kagome arrived to Sango's house to hear loud music coming from everywhere inside her place. She saw the front yard very messy, tons of plastic glasses, toilet paper and a metallic beer barrel was lying along with the trash that included cigarette rests and different types of cans. Kagome looked at the place disgusted and walked to the main door, she rung the doorbell a few times but without getting a response she entered the house to reveal a big party in there. Sango was very rich, she had a lot of money but she never said anything to anyone except for Kagome. Sango used average things because she wanted to make friends for who she was and not for her money. Now that Kagome saw all this, she thought that maybe Sango wanted new friends immediately. She didn't have to walk far to find her, she found her after taking a few steps into the living room.
“Kags! You made it!” Sango said and kissed her cheek. “Love that color on you, did you did something to your hair?”
“Um… no.” Kagome uttered dazed, Sango shrugged her shoulders.
“Anyway, you look great… want a drink? I have beer,” her friend offered, Kagome shook her head.
“No, I'm fine… what's all this?” she asked looking around and Sango rolled her eyes.
“I was organizing my first party… Miroku said that it would be great for my social status.” Sango explained.
Kagome was sick of this Miroku guy, she had never heard of him before until Kouga's party. It was very obvious for Kagome that Sango was really into this guy, organizing a party wasn't part of the old Sango she thought she knew. She wasn't sure that this guy was trust worthy since the only things she knew about him were his name and that he was becoming a big influence for Sango.
“Don't you think your parents will kill you?” Kagome inquired, Sango shrugged her shoulders.
“I don't think so… my parents won't be back to the house in a week and I'll call a maid to come over and clean this before they arrive. Miroku said that they will never find out so here I am… don't you think he's so cool?” Kagome faked a smile.
“Actually I think…”
“Party!”
A loud shout came from someone making everyone in the room scream back in excitement, including Sango. Kagome looked at her puzzled, wondering what happened to her best friend. Sango smiled pleased when she saw Kouga coming inside her house, she quickly approached him and hugged him. Kouga smiled and grabbed a beer from someone nearby; Kagome stared at them confused since she didn't know when Sango became one of his friends.
“Kouga! I'm so glad you made it, this is so cool! Hey Kags, guess who just arrived!” Kagome mentally kicked herself and forced a smile as Kouga walked over to her.
“Hey babe, enjoying yourself?” she nodded and Sango winked at her before leaving.
“Yeah, but now it's time for me to go… my mom just called and…”
“Oh, c'mon… stay a little bit longer, I just arrived. It's time to start the real party.” he interrupted her and placed his hands on her hips, she smiled uncomfortable.
“I guess I could stay a little bit longer…” he moved closer to her and she quickly dodged his kiss. “But first I need to tell Sango something, I'll be right back…” Kagome promised, Kouga nodded taking a sip from his drink.
Kagome walked up and down Sango's house, avoiding finding Kouga again before he tried to kiss her again. She sighed heavily as she didn't find her best friend anywhere, when she tried to ask someone about her the music was too loud and her voice was inaudible. She soon got tired and grabbed some air.
“SANGO TAIJA! GET YOUR BUTT OVER HERE!” Kagome yelled desperate, she heard a scoff.
“What? I'm right here…” her friend said annoyed and Kagome pulled her inside a closet to talk alone. “Kagome, you're acting a little crazy and paranoid.”
“No, this is crazy! Don't you see how bad this is? These people are breaking down your house!” Sango rolled her eyes.
“I'm just making friends… stop being so boring.” Sango suggested, Kagome grunted in annoyance.
“I'm not being boring, I'm being responsible.” She said in her defense, Sango scoffed again.
“You're acting worse than my mother… you shouldn't be thinking what's wrong, you should be thinking about having fun and your first kiss.” Kagome blushed lightly and turned her eyes away from her friend.
“I don't want my first kiss to be with a guy that I'm just starting to know… besides, how do I know if Kouga really likes me?” her friend shrugged her shoulders.
“Just forget about the special thing and all that, kiss Kouga! That would be so memorable… I know I would kiss him.” Kagome sighed, then reality struck her.
“You have already kissed that guy Miroku, right?” Sango nodded excitedly and squealed.
“Yeah, at Kouga's party! And now I think we are like a couple… but what am I doing here? My party is out there and here we are hiding!” Sango opened the door and pulled Kagome out with her, soon Sango let her go.
Kagome watched her friend from a far distance, watching her doing stuff she wouldn't normally do like dance on top of a table or drink alcohol. She didn't even bother in saying goodbye knowing that Sango wouldn't have noticed if she left, she walked out of her friend's house. `I'm going back home, what's wrong with Sango? Why is she acting like this? Doesn't she know this can jeopardize her future? Lowering her grades, missing her studies and … damn! I forgot about my Physics exam!' she panicked as she walked towards her car. As soon as Kagome was inside it, she heard her cell phone ringing.
“Hello?” she answered as she started the engine.
“Kagome, I'm not interrupting you am I?” she smiled at the sound of her mother's voice.
“No, of course not… what is it?” Kagome asked concerned, she relaxed when she heard her mother's tone softer.
“Well, since your grandfather called me and told me you were out I thought you could do me a favor.” Kagome smiled again.
“Sure.”
“Go to the laundry and pick up my long red coat, you know which… it's the one with the fake animal skin sleeves.” Kagome nodded, she knew that coat very well since she used it during winter for school.
“Okay, I'll be at home soon.” She promised and hung up.
-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_- _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_
Inuyasha walked towards the address Kikyo had given him as he checked the note in his hands, he could still feel the burning pleasure of her lips against his cold ones. Inuyasha had to walk since his old car broke at the last second, the place was far away but he would have been able to get there in half an hour if he hurried. Unfortunately for Naraku, Inuyasha was never in a rush so he walked down the street calmly. As he made his way through the city, he was thinking about the perfect way to break into the house without getting detected by the security system, if they were as rich as Naraku described them; these people might have the best engineering emergency system. If Inuyasha tried to open the main door the alarm will buzz and he would be in trouble. He was concentrating too much that he didn't even noticed he bumped with a girl in red coat, Inuyasha thought it wouldn't harm him to get some extra money and decided to follow her. He grabbed her and dragged her to the same dark alley he always used. Her muffled screams were barely audible when he covered her mouth with the sleeve of his sweater. When Inuyasha was about to ask her for money, he froze as he realized who was the girl he encountered.
“It's you again…” Kagome whispered once he let her free, he sighed. “You were about to rob me again, weren't you?”
“I… made a mistake,” Inuyasha mumbled.
He wanted to run away, as fast as he could so she could pretend it was part of her imagination. Inuyasha simply decided not to panic and walk out as normally as he could, suddenly the touch of her warm skin touched his arm, Inuyasha looked back at her coldly but the warm look in her eyes melted his façade. Kagome smiled at him and for a second he was about to smile back when he remembered what he was doing and what kind of person he was.
“Why do you steal if you have a decent job?” Kagome asked curiously.
“What do you care wench.” he snapped, getting free from her grasp. He walked away when he heard her speak again.
“People who insult others are trying to defend themselves.” she answered and Inuyasha looked back at her.
“Why would I want to defend myself?” he arched his brow, Kagome shrugged her shoulders as she approached him.
“I don't know. An old trauma, social issues, maybe your so called second job…”
“What are you, a psychologist?” he asked mocking her, Kagome nodded.
“I might… in a near future.” Inuyasha rolled her eyes and walked away.
“Wait! I'm not done with you!” she yelled.
“But I am!” he yelled back as he kept on walking, Kagome followed him closely.
“What's your name?” she asked again with curiosity.
“What do you care?” Inuyasha snapped angrily as he tried to get her away from him.
“I just want to know…” Kagome said truthfully.
“To report me to the police?” He asked as he stopped walking, Inuyasha gazed into her chocolate eyes trying to find out if she was honest. Kagome was startled by his looks but she shook her head.
“No, I'm just curious…” Inuyasha chuckled sourly and walked away, Kagome didn't give up that easily. “Listen; let's do this to take away the mystery… I'm Kagome, what's your name?”
“I never give out my name.” he answered bitterly.
“C'mon… I gave you mine, the least thing you could do is give me yours… think of it like a way of being polite.” She offered; Inuyasha rolled his eyes.
“I don't like to be polite.” He snapped, Kagome stopped following him for a moment and immediately started to keep up with his pace again.
“Well, just a way to show your manners.” she said with a soft smile, Inuyasha shot her an expressionless look; Kagome could feel the ice coming from his eyes.
“I don't have manners…” Finally he heard her steps stop and was grateful she stopped following him; then he heard her voice again from a far.
“Then… like a way to…”
“Alright! My name's Inuyasha! Happy now?” Inuyasha yelled stressed. Kagome nodded, a little unsure. He walked away but Kagome wasn't satisfied yet and decided to follow him again. “What do you think you're doing?”
“You're going to steal someone, aren't you?” she asked as she tried to keep his pace.
“And what if I was?” Inuyasha snapped.
“Are you always on the defensive?” Kagome asked, Inuyasha rolled his eyes.
“I don't know; I might be…” he shot back and Kagome sighed. Inuyasha was getting tired of having her behind him. “Aren't you gonna leave me alone already?”
“No, I just want to see you going back to your house…” he rolled his eyes. “You know, you could damage your eyes by making that…”
“Who are you?” he asked annoyed.
“An 11th grade student of the Midoriko private high school.” Kagome answered and he sighed irritated.
“Right, very nice and all kid but you have to go… you have to go to school tomorrow.” he reminded her.
“So do you…” Kagome shot back, Inuyasha looked at her with the same emotionless stare.
“I don't study.” He answered bitterly, Kagome nodded.
“So that's why you steal other's people money?” Inuyasha looked at her fumingly.
“That's none of your business!” he yelled furious and she jumped a little scared. Inuyasha sighed and calmed down. “Listen bitch, I need to do something very important and private so will you please leave me alone.”
“Alright… I have to study for tomorrow anyway,” Kagome said and he let out a relieved breath, Inuyasha walked away and once Kagome was sure he was far enough for her to follow him, she hopped in her car.
`I know I might get in troubles for this, I know that maybe he could hurt me and I know that I have a test tomorrow but… I just can't leave him right now.' Kagome thought as she started her engine and followed him closely. `I just can't…'
