A/N: This is an extra long chapter `cause since I got `Suddenly Love' on hold (just till the contest is over), I've been having more free time and I thought `why don't I write for Destiny's ploy?' so… hope you enjoy it and don't forget to review!!! Kagura entered to Inuyasha's apartment with no problem, Naraku always kept a copy of his apartment key in case he had to visit him and wait for him there. Also, because Kikyo had use it for a short time, while she still had interest in him. She took the T-shirt she had grabbed from his room earlier and placed it back in the drawer. She had cut off a piece from it to fulfill Naraku's plan. When she was about to leave, she heard her cell phone ringing, she sat on his bed as she answered.

 

“Yes?” she asked as she looked around his room.

 

“Are you done with my task?” her brother asked and she sighed heavily.

 

“You sent me over there like more than 3 hours ago; do you think I'm that slow?” she asked annoyed.

 

“Whatever, I hope you made sure that he looks like guilty” she nodded and got up from Inuyasha's bed.

 

“Yes I did, you are talking to me as if I was an amateur” she locked the door as nothing had happened and walked out the room.

 

“I'm sorry dear, I was just making sure you didn't screw up like last time” he hung up and she let out an annoyed sigh.

 

“Bastard” she mumbled and went back to his house.

Kagome dressed for school and almost ran out of her house, she wasn't late but if she wanted to avoid her mother's questions she had to act as if she was. When her mother came back home, she found her crying as she slept, she asked why she was without her necklace but Kagome just said she left it at Sango's house. Once she was away from her mother's house she walked calmly to school. Kagome was a block before the school, she watched the students go inside but somehow she didn't want to be with them. She went behind a tree and took out her school shirt; she was with a black tank top under it. Kagome walked away the school, pretending she didn't belong there and went to the bus stop.

 

`Nobody will notice if I skip one day, no one will get worried… if the teachers ask I'll just tell them I wasn't feeling like going to school… if they tell mom, I'll tell her that I just needed to go somewhere else… I spent the whole day in the library' she thought as she tried to convince herself that she was doing nothing wrong. When the bus stopped the first time, she ran out the bus and went to Inuyasha's work place.

 

“What the fuck are you doing here?” he hissed when he saw her, she threw herself on him and gave him a hug.

 

“I skipped school and I came to see you, I thought we could talk about what happened during the weekend” he looked at her confused.

 

“What happened to you?” she looked around and shook her head lightly.

 

“I don't want to talk about that now, when do you have a break?” he looked at his watch and sighed.

 

“At lunch… listen, you stay here and pretend you're a costumer, don't you dare to leave this place” he warned and she nodded, Inuyasha was about to go back to his work when he crashed with his co worker.

 

“Hey… what's the… Kagome?” Bankotsu asked and pushed away Inuyasha to walk over to her; Inuyasha turned to look at them and folded his arms as they talked. “What are you doing here? I thought you said you were in high school”

 

“Yeah, I am but… I decided to skip a day… I wasn't feeling like going to school” she explained and he nodded.

 

“Did you come here for me? Because we can go out once I'm done with my work” Kagome was about to talk when Inuyasha furiously, turned Bankotsu to face him and grabbed him by his T-shirt.

 

“She came here to see me you pedophile and when did you two meet?” he asked and Bankotsu laughed.

 

“I met her at the bus station, no reason to get jealous Inuyasha… she's pretty and all but if you like her… I'm not going to mess with her” Kagome blushed and waited for Inuyasha to say something, he just rolled his eyes.

 

“She's just my friend and I don't want her to get involved with a jerk like you… now scram” he chuckled as he walked away and Inuyasha sighed. “I thought I told you not to get involved with these people”

 

“He asked me out and it'd rude to reject an invitation” he walked away and Kagome followed him. “You don't mind it, do you? I mean… that I went out with him”

 

“If you mean that I'm jealous… no, I'm not” she sighed heavily and shook her head. “But I do care; I don't want you to get hurt… okay? Just… next time you want to do something like that, tell me about it first”

 

Kagome nodded and watched him going under a car and repairing it, she sat on top of a few tires until he finished doing his work. She felt very stupid, she knew he wasn't going to be worried sick for her but she wished he was. `I don't know why I get these stupid thoughts like, thinking he did care about me going out with Bankotsu… yeah, I know he just told me he did care because he didn't want me to get hurt but I… I wished he care because he didn't want any other men to get near me' she thought sadly and kept watching him as he worked.

“So, what happened?” Inuyasha asked one he was done with his work and they walked through the streets.

 

“I didn't get hurt or anything, don't worry…” she sighed heavily and stopped him. “Someone broke into my house… and stole the necklace my stepfather gave me”

 

“Who broke in?” he asked and she shook her head lightly.

 

“I don't know… I just found something in my door; nothing else was stolen so I think that whoever did was just searching for my necklace… I wonder why, it's not very valuable… it's around 90 dollars” he looked at her worried.

 

“That's very weird, why would anyone steal only a necklace in a house that could be filled with many expensive things? Either the guy who broke in was very stupid… or had a purpose” she sighed.

 

“I just hope I can get it back, the only father I knew gave it to me and… like I once told you, it means a lot to me… more than you can imagine” he nodded.

 

“I'll try my best Kagome” she immediately hooked her arms around him and he stood there shocked, he blushed and cleared his throat. “Kagome… I think you should… you should go to class”

 

“If I skipped today it was because I didn't feel like going there…” s

 

“Do you want to ruin your future like I did?! Because that's the only thing you'll do by skipping school… you're too intelligent for that!” he yelled furious and Kagome looked away.

 

“If I go to school… would you promise me to come by my school later? I don't want to go home because I haven't told my mom what happened” he rolled his eyes.

 

“Do I have a choice?” she looked at him with an innocent look and he mentally cursed himself. “Fine, but now go… if I find out that you weren't there I won't ever help you again” she kissed his cheek and hugged him.

 

“I'll see you later, thanks Inuyasha” she walked away as she pulled her school shirt and placed it on the tank top she was wearing, she sighed before heading back to school hoping she would get to the lunch recess.

Kagome walked into her school, pretending she wasn't doing something wrong. When she was about to get to her cafeteria, she felt someone grabbing her arm. She looked back and noticed her best friend. Sango looked at her a little mad and gave her a piece of paper, her friend stared at it for a few seconds.

 

“What are you waiting for? Grab it” Sango said and Kagome took it.

 

“What's this?” she asked as she read the paper.

 

“The homework that was sent in the hours you skipped, I told everyone you were at the dentist” Kagome smiled and hugged Sango a little, she quickly pulled apart.

 

“Thanks…” Sango half smiled and turned around.

 

“No problem, just don't ever skip class again… especially for that guy” Kagome got a little scared.

 

“How did you know?” she asked as she walked next to her, Sango just shrugged her shoulders and opened the cafeteria door.

 

“You seem to be very interested in him and by the looks he's not in high school… so who's him? Where did you meet him?” Kagome blushed lightly.

 

“He's just a friend… I met him a few minutes after Kouga's party, I was walking back home and we kinda crashed” her best friend arched her eyebrow.

 

“You don't usually meet guys this random…”

 

“And you don't usually hang with me anymore, where's Miroku?” Sango shrugged her shoulders.

 

“I don't know, he said something about leaving town for a few days… and I think he is hiding something, when I told him I wanted to meet his parents he freaked out… he never acted his weird” she sighed and they sat on a table. “Are you interested in Kouga? Because if you aren't you're just giving him fake hope”

 

“I really don't like him that much… I mean, we could be friends and all but… I don't see me in a relationship with him”

 

“Why? Because of that guy?” Kagome blushed and giggled nervously.

 

“I don't know… I'm not sure” she answered and Sango smiled to her.

 

Kagome and Sango had their lunch like they used to have before. They chat about classes, cute boys and math problems resolution. When the lunch time was over, they went to their classes; Kagome wished that Miroku never came back because he would only screw up again her friendship. `I know I'm being selfish but… Sango is the only true friend I have and being without her is difficult, I want to spend more time with her but her boyfriend seems to be more important... I just wish things were like before, no worries, no problems and no Sango's boyfriend.' She sighed heavily and the bell rang, she grabbed her bag and walked out of the place rushed, Sango was able to catch her.

 

“Hey, slow down… where's the fire?” Kagome giggled nervously.

 

“Sorry, I have to go” she walked out without noticing that Sango was behind her, Kagome smiled when she found Inuyasha outside her school smoking a cigarette. “Hi, thank you for coming for me”

 

“I did it only because I wanted you in school… now where are we going?” he looked back and noticed Sango coming towards them. “Your friend is looking for you”

 

“Kags!” she called and Kagome turned around. “Oh, you're going out with him… I didn't want to interrupt or anything”

 

“No, we aren't together or something” Kagome smiled and her friend nodded. “What's up?”

 

“Nothing, I just wanted to invite you to my house but it seems you already have plans… never mind… I'll see you tomorrow” Sango waved at her as she walked away.

 

“Your friend is a little weird” Inuyasha told her as they walked away from the school, Kagome sighed heavily.

 

“Yeah… but just lately, ever since she hook up with this guy Miroku…” Inuyasha looked back at her with interest.

 

“Miroku? Miroku what?” she looked at him.

 

“Miroku Houshi, why? Do you know him?” he shook his head and threw his cigarette away.

 

“No, I thought it was another Miroku…” Inuyasha was about to enter to a bar but he noticed Kagome stood back there, he looked back at her annoyed. “Aren't you coming in?”

 

“Don't you know I'm 16?” he rolled his eyes.

 

“I know the owner, he won't give a fuck if I come with a teen… he always lets his niece and her friends come in” she thought it was convincing and followed him in; Inuyasha got a beer the moment he entered, without even asking for it.

 

“Wow, or you're a regular here or they now you too well” he chuckled and shook his head.

 

“I did the owner a favor a few years ago, he promised me a beer everyday we see each other… but unfortunately we don't see each other that often so he told all his staff that every time I come in they must give me a beer… you want one?” she shook her head.

 

“No thanks, why did you bring me here?”

 

“Because this is the only place in which I can have anything I want without paying… I'm a little low of cash right now” he told her as he pulled out his wallet.

 

She noticed a picture of the scary man that kidnapped her; the girl who she assumed was his girlfriend and Inuyasha. They seemed to be very good friends since Inuyasha was hugging the girl while the other man had an arm around Inuyasha's neck, they all had a very friendly smile on their faces. She snapped out of her thoughts when Inuyasha pulled his wallet away and placed it back on his pant pocket.

 

“Where you close to that man?” he arched his brow and placed a cigarette on his mouth.

 

“What are you talking about?” he said mumbling as he lighted up his cigarette.

 

“The man in the picture, the one you keep on your wallet… the same man that kidnapped me” he rolled his eyes and let out some smoke.

 

“I've been meaning to burn that picture… we used to be friends, but he… he betrayed me, in so many ways that it's hard to keep the count” he sighed heavily and Kagome nodded.

 

“What about the girl?” he looked away and finished the rest of his beer. “You know… your ex”

 

“She's just my ex…” he answered; Kagome could notice some anger in his voice. She decided to leave the questions about his ex for some other time, when he trusted her some more.

 

“Um… I think I'll go to Sango's house for a while, I don't like bars that much” she sighed and kissed his cheek. “Bye”

 

“Wait” Inuyasha grabbed her hand and made her look at him. “You're not… mad at me, right?” she shook her head slowly.

 

“No, I just thought that I should do my homework and if I try to do my homework here I will just get distracted” he looked at her confused.

 

“Why?” she smiled.

 

“Because every time I try to do my homework I end up thinking about you and if you're next to me… then I would just stare at you” she noticed he blushed a little and she did the same, she kissed his cheek again bringing him back to reality. “See you around”

“Naraku, think about this… don't do it man”

 

“NO! The only thing I ever wanted was to be treated like his child! I'm almost like one! Why don't you want me to be your heir?!”

 

“It has nothing to do with me not liking you Naraku, you and Inuyasha are like my sons but… Inuyasha is better than you with these things, please understand”

 

“NO! I WON'T!”

 

“NARAKU!”

 

The sound of a gunshot in his dream woke him up, he had dreamed that nightmare over and over again but he still found himself guilty. Inuyasha got up, he looked outside through his dirty broken window and then looked at his watch, it was 10 AM and he decided to eat something. When he opened the fridge to pull out orange juice, he heard someone knocking his door desperately. He walked over his door lazily and found Hakudoshi there with an envelope, Inuyasha half smiled.

 

“That was fast…” he said as he took it away from him.

 

“It wasn't hard… he studies in the same school your dear Kagome does” he looked at him with some anger, before he did something he would later regret; he slammed the door in his face.

 

“Naraku” he mumbled after realizing that he was the reason Hakudoshi knew about Kagome.

 

Inuyasha read the paper in the envelope in silence as he drank the last drops of juice in the box. Once he was over, he took a quick shower and dressed with the first T-shirt he found in his drawer, it was red, his favorite color. He got his keys and closed his place before walking out to the street. As the directions told him, he went to a very poor building; he saw trash around the place and looked at it disgusted. He didn't even have to lie to someone to let him in the apartment, the main door was broken and he entered with no problem. Inuyasha took the elevator to the 5th floor and directed to the apartment 5F, he knocked and someone with dark blue eyes and black hair. The man looked at him with confusion but before he could ask anything, Inuyasha pushed the door opened and entered the room.

 

“Who are you?” Miroku asked and pulled out a gun he kept behind him.

 

“No need to get violent Houshi” Inuyasha replied as he pulled out a cigarette. “I was send here by Naraku”

 

“What does he want? Who the fuck is he?” he asked calmly as he placed his gun back into his place.

 

“A man who wants your services, you know… killing” he looked away and turned around; he let out a heavy sigh.

 

“I don't do that anymore” he answered with a quivering voice and Inuyasha arched his brow to him.

 

“I know, I'm well informed…” he said as he threw him the paper Hakudoshi had given him. “But Naraku still needs you, maybe because you were once in the band of seven”

 

“I don't need anyone to remind me who I was” he sat next to the chair in which Inuyasha was smoking. “Why?”

 

“Why what?”

 

“Why me? Why not someone else? I know plenty of guys who used to be in the same things… they were just like me”

 

“I think because he wants some extra money too… and I know you are an excellent hacker” he chuckled a little.

 

“Not one of the best but yeah… when can I meet this guy? I need to arrange some things first before we start working together” Inuyasha finished his cigarette and threw it out the window.

 

“You won't be working with him, you'll be working for that bastard” Miroku chuckled and stood up.

 

“I'm getting a beer… you want one… um… I didn't catch your name”

 

“I didn't give it, it's Inuyasha and I would love a beer” Miroku chuckled some more and gave him a nod.

 

“You got it”

 

Inuyasha was about to have his first when he heard his cell phone ringing, he looked at an unknown number but he decided to answer anyway.

 

“Hello?”

 

“Inuyasha” Kagome said and he rolled his eyes.

 

“Yeah… what?” he heard her giggle nervously.

 

“Well, I'm done with my homework and… I'm alone at home and I don't want something to happen in my house like last time, would you… come to my house? Please?” he sighed.

 

“I'll be there in a few minutes” he hung up, drank his beer in a single gulp and looked at Miroku. “I have to go; I'll tell Naraku you'll be meeting him tomorrow at noon”

 

“I know, your girl just called… I know by the way you talked to her” Inuyasha rolled his eyes.

 

“She's not my girl, she's my friend… remember, tomorrow at noon” he walked out of his apartment and Miroku chuckled, he pulled out his cell phone.

 

“Hi Sango, I just got back to town… why don't we have dinner together?”

“Hi, I'm sorry I called you but I felt a little scared… I hope I didn't interrupt anything” she smiled as she opened the door; Inuyasha walked inside and followed her to her room.

 

“Don't worry, I was already done…” he said and sat on her bed, she sat next to him and sighed.

 

“Where were you? I mean… if you don't mind me asking” he looked at her and rolled his eyes.

 

“I was doing some business…” he stood up and walked around her room, he looked at the books she had on her bookshelf and pulled out the one that had a plastic cover, he read the title.

 

“The Dead Zone?” he chuckled and she nodded; he passed the pages quickly and closed the book before placing it back in the bookshelf. “You know it's a scary book, why are you reading it?”

 

“I need to get distracted… whenever I read something that doesn't have to do with my thoughts, it helps me clear my mind” he nodded and half smiled.

 

“And what are your thoughts about? They are not scary thoughts because the book is about that so…” she blushed and looked away embarrassed.

 

“They are just… stupid teenager thoughts, you wouldn't want to know” she said and waited till her redness went away, Inuyasha grabbed her chin and made her look at him, she blushed more and swallowed hard as she saw him smirking.

 

“Like what?” he asked and Kagome stood up and started walking around her room nervously.

 

“Um… about you and… me… and our friendship” he looked at her dazed. “It's just that… is it just me or… is there more than a friendship between us, I feel something more for you and… I don't want it to be like it but…” Inuyasha stood up and she stopped as she breathed hardly, he moved closer to her and Kagome closed her eyes.

 

Once her eyes were shut, Kagome felt something new hitting her lips; it was her first real kiss. Inuyasha placed his hands around her hips and she automatically placed hers around his neck. Inuyasha's lips maneuvered to open her mouth slowly and gave himself the delighting pleasure of tasting her mouth for the first time, Kagome pulled apart when she felt she was missing air.

 

“No, I definitely feel something else for you Kagome but… I don't want to hurt you” she smiled and got closer to him, he hugged her tightly.

 

“You could never hurt me… you promised to keep me safe” she said and he smiled. “Inuyasha, if you like me…”

 

“I do but… it's hard for me to have a relationship with the life style I'm living, I mean… look at what I did to my ex girlfriend, I corrupted her and… I don't want to do the same thing to you”

 

“I won't ever let you do that to me, like you said before… I'm too intelligent” he smirked and gave her a peck.

 

“Ha ha… really funny wench, I have to go… you know, my night shift is near” he sighed heavily and Kagome hugged him.

 

“Can't you do anything to get away from that? Why are you even doing that for that man if you're not his friend?” he got away from her embrace and walked to the door.

 

“It's complicated… I can't talk about that now” he was walking out the door when Kagome noticed something weird on his T-shirt.

 

“Wait, hold that position for a second”

 

Kagome walked over to her jewelry box and pulled out the small piece of red fabric she had found on her floor. She placed it in the ripped part of his shirt and it matched perfectly, Kagome felt her heart shatter. Inuyasha was still not moving but when he heard her gasp, he turned around immediately and looked at her worried.

 

“What?” he noticed the piece of shirt on her hand.

 

“It was you… you thought I wouldn't notice but… you stole my necklace” she said and let a few tears fall down her cheeks.

 

“What? Kagome… I was out of town that day!” he said in his defense and she shook her head.

 

“No, you only said that because you wanted me to buy that… but how can you explain your ripped T-shirt and this piece that I found on my room!” she yelled and cried.

 

“I could never…” she shook her head and turned around.

 

“Get out Inuyasha; don't ever get near me again… I don't want to see you, you lied to me” he looked at her hurt.

 

“Kagome… I…”

 

“Get out! Please! Just… leave” she cried and he walked out the door ashamed, he sighed heavily and once he was out the house he hit the first big tree he saw on his way, he felt his knuckles bleeding and sighed.

 

Kagome watched him from her window; she was still crying and felt even worst when she saw him bleeding. She closed her curtains and threw herself on her bed and cried some more. The tears where flooding her pillow in a desperate cry of melancholy and betrayal. She turned around and looked at the ceiling as she tried to make the tears stop falling. `How could I let a man like him have my first kiss? I'm such an idiot… and… I feel even worst for still liking him…' she buried her face in the pillow again as she let out a loud and sad cry to release all the pain formed inside her.
