Inuyasha held Kagome's hand tightly between his. He didn't want to see her leave again. He just couldn't believe everything that had happened to her ever since he met her. First she got robbed, although, that was his fault, and then there were the numerous times she had been drugged and kidnapped. `And to think all of that has happened in less than 2 months.' he worriedly thought as he waited for the elevator to come to a halt and the doors to open. Kagome looked up at Inuyasha, she knew he had something bothering him but she didn't dare ask him what. She sighed heavily, squeezing his hand a bit tighter. Inuyasha reacted by turning his eyes to her. He smiled softly before planting a small kiss on her lips. Kagome smiled widely and heard the doors open; she glanced at the guard feeling safer. Inuyasha's tight squeeze became softer and he immediately knew that he shouldn't have done that.
“You ain't going no where” The guard said pulling Kagome back. He held Kagome tightly between his arms and Inuyasha froze, feeling time stand still.
“Let her go.” Inuyasha hissed once he was back to his senses. The man let out a menacing laugh and put a piece of tablecloth to Kagome's mouth containing the chemical chloroform. She mumbled something but Inuyasha couldn't understand what it was.
“Hush darling… everything will be fine.” The man whispered on her ear and planted a dirty kiss on her cheek, Inuyasha felt like ripping him apart for daring to touch Kagome but he stood there still not wanting to make a wrong move.
“Don't you fucking touch her!” Inuyasha warned furiously and the fake guard chuckled nastily.
“I ain't gonna hurt her.” He said and laid her gently on the floor, right between Inuyasha and him but closer to him. “You on the other hand… might not be as lucky as her.”
Inuyasha wanted to grab him and throw him against the wall. Ever since he started fighting again, his thirst for blood had been stronger. He had been trained to be a killer and after he left it once Naraku's lust changed to money, he thought his horrible fetish for blood was gone. Oh, but how very wrong he was, it had not only reappeared, but it was heftier and more vicious than ever. Inuyasha wished to see this man's body parts around the floor as his red liquid poured out of him and pooled everywhere. His thoughts were stopped when he saw the man take out a few daggers; he lined them up carefully around Kagome at the floor but kept one of them in his hand. He looked back at Inuyasha with a small smile on his lips.
“You don't even know my name, do you?” He asked and Inuyasha looked at him perplexed.
“Why should I even bother to ask?” He asked uncaring as the man let out a short laugh.
“My name is Mukotsu.” Inuyasha arched his brow.
“I never asked your name.” Mukotsu laughed again.
“Well, if I were you… I would like to know the name of my killer.” He expertly twirled the knife through his fingers and sighed. “Now, before we get to my favorite part… why don't we play a game? How about `The Yes or No' game?”
“Never heard of it.” He threw the dagger down and Inuyasha was about to jump towards him and kill him for taking away the life of the person her loved the most but realized that the knife had hit the floor a few inches away from Kagome's face.
“It's pretty simple… I'll ask you a question. Every time you say `yes' or `no' I'll throw a knife at your girlfriend here… but here's the catch, when you answer a question without saying any of these words I'll throw the dagger at you. Sounds good?”
“No.” he said and he heard another one hit the floor, Mukotsu laughed.
“Can't say that, let's pretend that was just a rehearsal… ready to start?” Inuyasha eyed him with anger and stood there silent, Mukotsu grinned maliciously. “I'll take that like that as a `let's start'… alright, is she Shinta's daughter?”
“I'll never tell you, you piece of shit.” He snapped angrily; a sharp knife was shot right to him, Inuyasha dodged it but it lightly cut the side of his left cheek.
“Good… you're good at this, let's keep on going. Are you Naraku's right hand man?”
“No.” Inuyasha regretted the word that had just left his mouth on impulse once he remembered the consequences. Now Kagome had a light cut on her cheek, which was slowly starting to ooze blood.
“And I thought you would die first… would you like for her to die first?” Inuyasha sighed mournfully.
“I don't want anyone to die.” Mukotsu smiled a little before throwing him another dagger, which grazed Inuyasha lightly on the shoulder.
“Great… then we can call this game to an end, would you like that?” He asked vapidly.
“I would love that.” Mukotsu nodded and let out a heavy breath, this time the knife hit directly Inuyasha's hand, stabbing right in the middle of it. Inuyasha wanted to scream but he didn't want him to feel the pleasure of hearing him agonize.
“Oh, yes… and I would too, but the show must go on and now that I got tired of it… I'll stick to the original plan.” Inuyasha arched his brow confused, Mukotsu pulled out a very weird mask before making a sign with his fingers.
Inuyasha heard everything close; he looked up to the ceiling and discovered a yellowish air slowly invading the place. He panicked and heard Mukotsu laugh cynically; Inuyasha ran towards Kagome and grabbed her before looking for a way to escape. `Damn… he had it all planned! I was so stupid! He was distracting me while another one was placing that yellow gas in the air duct.' he thought regrettably while he carried Kagome from one side to another. A few seconds later, Inuyasha was lacking air. His chest felt heavy and every time he tried to breathe he would choke. He slowly let down Kagome, before fainting next to her. Mukotsu slowly pulled out his mask and sighed bored.
“I had a great time. I hope it was the same for you but I got a job to do.” He pulled out a pair of white gloves and a gun. “This isn't going to hurt you… and I'll take care of your girlfriend, I promise… she will always be satisfied.”
“Step away from Kagome.” He heard someone say and the click of a gun next to his ear.
“I thought I told Suikotsu to take care of everyone in this building, why aren't you dead?” she laughed and rolled her eyes.
“Because I wasn't here until now… get up.” Kikyo said firmly and Mukotsu dropped his weapon. “For the record, I don't give a shit about her… you could rape her for all I care but it's him who I don't want injured.”
“Fair enough, what are you going to do to me?” She yawned uninterested and pulled the trigger.
“Kill you, of course.” She answered even though she was aware he wasn't able to listen to her anymore. “Now, where could this Suikotsu guy be?”
“Right behind you honey.” He answered with a half smile on his face, Kikyo swallowed hard but did her best to appear as if nothing was unfazed.
“Let's see… I killed the fat guy and Miroku killed the red haired guy, I guess now there are only 5 out of the band of seven.” He smiled widely as he nodded.
“Now let's count… Inuyasha killed Hakudoshi and I'm about to kill you, guess now we'll be even.” Kikyo pointed at him with her gun, Suikotsu let out mocking chuckles.
“You have no experience; I don't like weapons… at least not the ones that aren't sharp.” Kikyo saw three pointy iron sticks come right from his knuckles, the man laughed again. “I bet you are curious, I'll tell you my story. I'm such a big fan of sharp knifes and of the comic `X-men', of course a very big fan of the character Wolverine so I asked a plastic surgeon to add me these six iron sticks which come out of my hands every time I clench my fists.”
“Very interesting but I really don't care.” She replied and put down her gun, she walked next to the now corpse of Mukotsu and grabbed one of his daggers. “You want sharp weapons, fine.”
“I'm glad you like to satis…” she saw a small opening in his forehead with blood slowly dripping down from it and then fall to the ground, she looked behind him and soon saw Naraku standing there with some blood pouring down his face and a silver gun on his hand.
“Thanks darling. I don't know what…”
“Quiet!” He yelled furiously and Kikyo watched him with shock.
“Honey, is something…?”
“I told you to shut up bitch!” He bellowed and she stepped away from him. “I heard everything… you wanted Kagome to be raped? If you let that happen I would have cut your throat or throw you out to the streets were you belong so you can prostitute yourself again to buy your drugs. Now is that what you want?”
“I'm sorry! I wasn't going to let that happen… I was going to kill him, I swear that I did want to kill Inuyasha but that guy showed up out of nowhere.” He closed his eyes in anger and let out an annoyed sigh.
“Get the hell out of my sight before I do something you'll regret.” She nodded reluctantly and walked away from him.
Naraku bent to the side of Kagome, she had her eye lids closed lightly and was breathing calmly as if she was sleeping in her own bed waiting for the night to go by. Naraku sat up on the floor and had Kagome leaning on him; he gently pushed away every single strand hair covering her face. He smiled at the sight of the angel in front of him. Naraku felt the urge of kissing her, to feel her soft ruby red lips against his but his fantasy was destroyed into a million pieces when he felt someone grab his left ankle. He looked down and saw Inuyasha with that killer look on his face. The look that he had used thousands of times to indicate that he didn't like something. Naraku smiled and put down Kagome before sitting next to Inuyasha, he tapped his arm.
“I see you are getting worse and worse everyday.” He hissed pointing at his arm and Inuyasha glanced at his wound, he shot at it an uncared look before sighing.
“I was playing along.” He replied before standing up and grabbing Kagome. “I just thank god you didn't get the chance to kill her.”
“Where did you get that idea?” He asked curiously and Inuyasha arched his brow.
“You said it yourself… a long time ago.” Naraku thought for a few seconds and then nodded.
“Oh, yes. Now I remember, but it was a long time ago… I got new plans for her, she's more beautiful than I imagined and I won't throw away such an amazing, gorgeous looking girl. No matter how stupid his father was.”
“I don't know what just happened and I know I should care, but actually, I don't. Thanks… for whatever happened a few minutes ago.”
“And I would say `you're welcome' but we both know I didn't do it for you. Now get the hell out of my building.” Inuyasha nodded quickly and walked out with Kagome on his shoulder.

“Momma!” Kagome said happily once she was back to her house, her mother welcomed her with a warm hug.
“I'm glad you're back darling, thanks again Inuyasha.” Her mother said as she held her daughter dearly between her arms, Inuyasha smiled lightly.
“I have other things to do now, I'll come to visit you another day Kagome.” she nodded and broke away from her mother's arms to give her boyfriend a short peck on the cheek, he made a hissing sound as her lips touched his wound.
“Sorry, I'll miss you.” She whispered and he smiled before walking away.
“We've got so many things to talk about. There's been this boy who has come everyday to visit you thinking you were sick… it was a lie made up by your grandfather, something about a yellow flu very contagious.” Kagome listened to her mother attentively as she entered back to her home; she smiled when she felt the soft fragrance of lilies.
“A boy?” She asked once she got out of the consuming smells of the flowers.
“Yes, I believe his name is Kouga… a friend of yours, darling?” She smiled tenderly before nodding.
“Kinda… um, I would love to talk right now mom but I feel very tired so I'll just go to my bed and rest for a few hours.” Her mother sighed and hugged her once again.
“Don't leave me again Kagome, it's the last thing I need.” She closed her eyes and sobbed a few times; her daughter felt guilty and tapped her back a few times as if she was indicating her to calm down.
“I won't, I promise.” Kagome whispered against her mother's ear and then she let her go, before she ran up to her room and grabbed her cell phone.
Kagome looked at her cell phone; the last time she had it cradled between her hands was a few weeks ago when she wasn't grounded. She touched it sweetly before looking for the phone number she wanted to call. It wasn't so hard; she had just 10 numbers in her cell phone, which belonged to her friends and family. She pressed the button and heard the dialing tone. Kagome walked in circles around her bed, she stopped at her mirror staring at the place where her scar should be. She touched it lightly; it was perfectly covered with makeup base and it was unnoticeable for anyone, even her own eyes. She waited patiently for him to pick up the phone. Finally she heard his voice.
“Kouga! Hi… um, this is… Kagome Higurashi.” She said and he gasped excitement.
“Kagome? I'm so glad you called me, I never asked your mother to tell you to call me… are you okay now? You aren't sick anymore?” He asked sincerely concerned.
“No, thanks for asking. Anyway, I… wanted to thank you for bringing me my homework and the many other things you have done for me, I really appreciate them and I hope some day I can do the same for you.” She said truthfully.
“Don't you even mention it; I did it because I didn't want anything to happen to you. I just wanted to be there for you.” Kagome smiled, she was lightly touched by his words.
“That's very sweet of you, alright… well, my doctor told me to rest.” Kagome lied, she heard him grunt.
“Okay, I totally understand… you know if you ever need me… call me and I'll be there for you, even though you have a boyfriend.” She got surprised and swallowed hard.
“You...? Who told you I was dating someone?” She asked and he chuckled.
“Did someone have to tell me? It was obvious who the guy at the carnival was…even though after that I still thought I had a chance with you. But don't worry, I got back with my ex girlfriend…I still care about you, as a friend of course.” She was happy to hear it and nodded, aware he wasn't able to see her.
“I care about you too, okay… I really got to go now; we'll talk to tomorrow at school”
“Yeah, see ya.” Kagome heard the dial tune and lightly threw her phone over the bed before throwing herself there as well.

Inuyasha walked calmly towards his so called home, no one would ever call that horrible dump a house. He sighed deeply before pulling out his cigarette box; he let out a frustrated groan when he noticed he had just one stick left. Inuyasha cursed his addiction to nicotine and put it in his mouth to light it. He took a long drag and let out the smoke right in front of him just to be hit by it as he was walking by. Inuyasha looked up at the white sky, it was filled with clouds that were debating whether to let the rain pour or let the sun shine. It was one cold day, so cold he felt his body freezing under the thin fabric of his clothing. The wind blew strongly against him: stirring his silver hair and making it lightly touch his face. Soon, a black car stopped next to him. Inuyasha eyed it curiously and stopped walking. The dark window went down and Kagura was revealed. He shook his head and smiled softly before he kept on walking.
“A bit cold, isn't it? Wouldn't you rather be sitting inside my car?” She asked willingly and he scoffed.
“No, it might be hot by the flames sent from your brother the emperor of hell.” She giggled a little before shaking her head.
“We need to talk Inuyasha. Now.” She said seriously and he stopped again, Inuyasha looked directly at her.
“Oh, someone sounds bitchy… like always. About what?” He asked interested and the back door opened.
“Hop in and I'll tell you.” She smiled innocently. Inuyasha looked at her suspiciously; he threw away his cigarette and got inside her car.
Inuyasha entered to the car and closed the door after him, he wasn't aware his hateful half brother was inside it too. He wanted to run out but it was impossible for him to open the door since Kagura had already locked it. Inuyasha cursed his luck mentally before giving up and looking at Sesshomaru.
“What?” He asked furiously and his half brother gave him a small smile.
“We've got information about you, a lot… you see, Kagura has been working for me for a while now and we need your help to get Naraku behind the bars. Now if you help us, I'll throw away anything that says that you were ever involved with him… don't help us and… you'll be spending even more time in jail than Naraku.” He let out a frustrated sigh.
“Why me?” Inuyasha asked him sighing..
“Because you are the only who Naraku trusts besides his bitch, and his bitch trusts you. So, you can think about it, it may be the only way in which you and Higurashi Kagome can live like they do in fairy tales…what is it? Ah yes, happily ever after.” Inuyasha eyed his half brother with despise radiating off of his very being. He didn't know what to do or what to say so he blurted out the first thing that popped into his mind.
“I'll think about it.” He hissed and Sesshomaru smiled.
“Good, I'll give you a day… till tomorrow Inuyasha.” Sesshomaru opened the door and Inuyasha walked out.
He noticed he was in front of his apartment. Inuyasha kept his eyes on the car till it vanished from sight, he sighed confused. `What can I do? I can't trust Sesshomaru…he could stab me in the back but…if he really is telling the truth…Kagome, she is danger while I'm part of this. I can't let anything happen to her. I promised Shinta and…I promised myself.' Inuyasha looked up at the sky once again. He felt something hit near his right eye and felt more falling towards him. Inuyasha sighed and entered to his building before the rain could drench him.
