Bankotsu plastered a delighted smile on his face, watching Kagome break down in tears and sit on the floor out of misery. It wasn't because he enjoyed someone else's depression, but rather because Inuyasha had made her cry; and all he had to do was tell her something stupid. Something that Inuyasha had actually unknowingly done to help him make her believe that he was right. It was such a pleasurable feeling to hear her yell at him over the phone, but being the gentleman he was he just couldn't just run out on her as she cried her eyes out. Bankotsu quashed his smile and cleared his throat as he handed her a small box of tissues. Kagome looked at him annoyed but took the box away from him in any case. She cleaned her tears and let out a frustrated sigh before trying to get up, Bankotsu offered her his hand but she pushed it away and got up by herself. Bankotsu sighed at the stubbornness of this girl; she placed the box of tissues on top of his table and sat once again on his chair.
“You know what bothers me the most?” Kagome asked, he rolled his eyes out of annoyance before grabbing the gun that had been lying on his desk and placed it in his jacket's pocket.
“Sure, I'll ask… what?” Bankotsu replied sighing through her sniffles.
“That I still love him.” Bankotsu sighed heavily and faked a few chuckles.
“Thought you might; why are women so damn stupid?” he asked cantankerously and Kagome shook her head as she scoffed.
“I'm sorry but if you thought that because he broke my heart now all my feelings towards him have vanished… you're wrong Bankotsu, you have clearly never been in love.” She added with despise and he scoffed.
“Love? I thought you didn't buy that crap.” Bankotsu walked towards his chair, he grabbed her by the waist and pulled her up as he sat down on his chair, then Bankotsu pulled Kagome down and made her sit on his lap.
“Let go off me, you idiot!” she protested as she hit Bankotsu's hands that were surrounding her hips.
“Sorry honey, but I think your ass is getting hurt by sitting in this rough chair so I'll just help you.” Kagome rolled her eyes; she scoffed and crossed her arms.
“I'm sorry but my ass is just fine.” She blushed as she said it and Bankotsu smiled. “I don't like being so close to you…what can I do so you can let me go?” She mumbled to herself loud enough for him to hear it, Bankotsu smiled naughtily.
“Kiss me.” Kagome laughed sarcastically, Bankotsu pulled her up like before but this time he turned her around to face him forcing Kagome to straddle his lap “I'll let you go if you do it,” he soothed, trying to convince her to forget all about Inuyasha. All about the man she loved. All about her principles and the difference between what was right and wrong in this world.
“Let me go, I'm serious.” He moved his head closer to hers until he was only an inch away from her lips. Then at the last minute he tilted his head to the left and whispered huskily in her ear.
“So am I, a small kiss Kagome… what are you afraid of?” he taunted before Kagome pulled her face away from his and he smiled arrogantly.
`I'm not afraid… it just doesn't feel right.' Her mind thought as Kagome debated what to do. `What if he won't let me go even if I don't kiss him? I will look like a fool… I'm not gonna do it... what would Inuyasha think?' She questioned herself, Kagome felt like an idiot after that question popped to her mind. `Why should I still care about what he thinks? He… he dumped me.' Kagome thought with determination and scoffed, she felt his hands wander around her upper body, reaching her shoulders and felt a kiss on her neck.
“What do you think you're doing?” Bankotsu looked at her innocently.
“You told me to bite you a few moments ago.” Kagome looked at him with anger.
“And why are you kissing my neck?” he shrugged his shoulders.
“So your neck doesn't feel injured after I give it a hickie.” Kagome pushed his face away from her and tried to get up but he quickly enveloped his arms around her hips. “So, what will you do?” he taunted once more.
`I don't want him touching me anymore… I have to do it.'

“… I'm glad I didn't get intimate with you because right now I even regret the fact that you were the first man I ever kissed… you're a jerk and don't you ever dare call me again!”
Ever since she hung up on him, that phrase had been bouncing up and down his head. Along with a few others she had said in the past; everything they had done together, so many memories he had of them together and they had only met about 3 months ago. `It's amazing what she did to me… she completely changed me and all she did was kiss me, god Kagome… why did you have to meet me?' He thought embarrassed, he felt that way because he thought she was too much for him; he was just a failure.
“Who are you?!” he asked annoyed.
“An 11th grade student of the Midoriko private high school…” she answered and smiling brightly.
How could it be possible that in less than a day his girlfriend managed to grow such a toxic hate of him? `I can't blame her, I'm a dick.' He thought shamelessly. `She finally realized I'm no good for her. But then why say such terrible things to me? I… really love her and… I just wish she knew that I'm only doing all this for her own good.' Inuyasha sighed heavily, ever since Kagome became his girlfriend not a single depressing thought entered his mind. Inuyasha was gaining a new positive attitude and outlook on life, but now that this happened…it …this just destroyed him.
“And what are you thinking about?” she blushed and looked away embarrassed.
“Um… about you and… me… and our friendship” he looked at her dazed. “It's just that… is it just me or… is there more than friendship between us? I feel something more for you and… I don't want it to be like it but…” Inuyasha stood up and she stopped as she breathed hardly, he moved closer to her and Kagome closed her eyes.
Once her eyes were shut, Kagome felt something new hitting her lips; it was her first real kiss.
“No, I definitely feel something else for you Kagome but… I don't want to hurt you,” she smiled and got closer to him, he hugged her tightly.
“You could never hurt me… you promised to keep me safe,” she said and he smiled.
Either way, he ended up making her cry countless times. `I even made her cry after she got her first kiss and on top of that I gave it to her… she should have shared that special moment with someone who could have been there for her every hour, minute and second of the day… not me, who only showed up when I found out she was kidnapped.' Inuyasha sighed heavily; his thoughts were depressing enough to make anyone cry. He just felt he was trash and although he hated it, he couldn't help feel that way because somehow he knew he deserved it.
“I'm your girlfriend.” Kagome said softly.
“And I'm your boyfriend… but I don't get involved in your stuff and I would like you to do the same.” Kagome nodded and cleaned a few tears that rolled down her cheeks.
“Fine… I love you Inuyasha but you just broke my heart.” She whispered and ran inside the hospital.
A knock on his door drew him back to reality and away from wallowing in his memories and disheartening thoughts. Inuyasha sighed heavily as he massaged his scalp before going to the door. He opened it slowly, surprised that it had concealed Kikyo who quickly walked into his apartment. She sat on his bed with a bright smile on her scarlet lips; Inuyasha closed his eyes for a moment as if he were wishing she disappeared. The last thing he needed at that moment was Kikyo with him, and, unfortunately for him, Kikyo was still there when he opened his eyes. Inuyasha walked towards the filthy counter and got his cigarette box before grabbing a stick; he placed it between his lips in his mouth and light it.
“Why are you here?” Inuyasha asked after taking a long drag of his cigarette.
“Inuyasha… where are your manners? You should always ask your guest if he or she would like something.” Inuyasha rolled his eyes and let out a heavy gray cloud of smoke.
“Don't change the subject.” Kikyo sighed in defeat; she crossed her legs at her knees and placed her hands delicately over her kneecap.
“To see you… and to discuss our escapade, you know we have to run away tomorrow.” He rolled his eyes and put out his cigarette after merely two deep drags.
“You don't need to remind me.” Inuyasha said as he sat next to her on his bed.
“Poor baby, too much pressure on you… don't worry, everything will be fine. Naraku doesn't know a thing and by tomorrow night we will be at the Bahamas… doesn't that sound nice?” Kikyo cooed caressing his cheek before lightly kissing his lips.
“I guess.” He answered not that excited, Kikyo rolled her eyes.
“What happened to your sensibility Inuyasha?” she asked worried. “I haven't seen you like this is in such a long time.”
“It's nothing.” He replied almost instantly. “I just need to be alone.”
“Fine, I'll leave just… don't leave me waiting tomorrow, please… I seriously need you with me.” Kikyo gave him a chaste kiss and walked out of his apartment.
“You don't understand do you? I'm growing feelings for you! I don't want to sleep every night thinking that tomorrow something might happen to you because I'm in love with you!” he yelled and she smiled while some tears gathered around her eyes.
“You… you love me?” Kagome asked and without getting an answer from him, she placed her lips over his and melted his cold facade for the most passionate kiss he ever received in his life.
“Why Kagome… why now, why did I have to meet you at this moment in my life?” he asked himself as he felt his heart break.

Kagome moved her face slowly towards him and Bankotsu was very happy. He never thought she had the guts to really do it. `After all she's an innocent virgin; she wouldn't dare to kiss someone just because he asked her typical from a naïve high school girl… but on the other hand, I'm glad she's obedient. I could use someone like her.' Bankotsu thought as he moistened his lips with his tangy tongue. Kagome gulped hard and at the last minute, she pulled away the gun that rested on his jacket's pocket. Kagome fiercely pointed at his forehead and he smiled as he pulled up his hands, removing them from her voluptuous hips.
“You move and I'll blow your brains out.” Kagome whispered ferociously and Bankotsu laughed.
“Alright, shoot me… I'm dying to see you try it.” He dared, calling her bluff and Kagome took a deep breath.
Kagome looked at him; he wasn't even showing a small hint of fear. She had to admit it was admiring although he was a gang leader, everyone is afraid of death but he; Bankotsu was there with a smile on his face and actually enjoying the fact she had to threaten him so he would let her go. Kagome was about to pull down the gun and get off of his legs when someone entered to the room. Bankotsu immediately stood up, letting Kagome fall right on her butt on the floor. She let out a small “ouch” and Bankotsu helped her up as he eyed furiously at the intruder.
“What the fuck are you doing here Renkotsu?” He yelled lividly, Renkotsu simply sighed.
“I came here to inform you that there's someone here to see you.” Bankotsu rolled his eyes.
“Take Kagome to the basement, bring her back by the time my visitor is gone and don't you dare touch her… now tell that fucker to come in.” Renkotsu nodded and Kagome followed him out.
“You better show some respect.” Kikyo said as she entered the room, Bankotsu pointed at her with the gun Kagome had used. “I'm here alone and Naraku didn't send me so stop acting paranoid.”
“Why are you here? Better yet, why did my idiotic brother let you in?” Kikyo shrugged her shoulders.
“You should stop trusting your own blood so much Bankotsu, everyone here is hungry for power… just remember that.” Bankotsu sat on his leather chair and placed his feet on his desk.
“Once again Kikyo, why are you here?” he repeated and Kikyo rolled her eyes.
“I came here to make you an offer; it's about money of course.” Bankotsu smiled pleased.
“How much are we talking about?” Kikyo giggled a bit and pulled out a big stash of cash on the table.
“100 grand, it's just a little something in exchange of a little favor.” Bankotsu grabbed the money and counted it quickly. He didn't even reach half of stash when he stopped.
“What favor?” Kikyo sighed heavily.
“I need you to kill someone for me, it's not easy but I guess you can do it… I know you're very good at it.” He arched his brow and laughed.
“Alright, who?” Kikyo passed him an envelope. “Ooh, acting mysterious?”
“Yes, it's just a security procedure… in case someone had followed me here.” Kikyo stood up. “But there's a catch, I need him dead by tomorrow night and I need to be there to know you really did it.”
“Where and what time?” He asked intrigued.
“I'll call you to tell you the time; I'll be on top of Naraku's building with him… just make sure not to make a mistake.” Kikyo winked at him with a soft smile as she made her way out.

Inuyasha fell asleep for several long hours completely exhausted; it has been such a long time since he got to sleep so much. Mostly he did it because he didn't have anything good to do and because he wanted to stay up at night as much as he could but now, this time he did it to make sure those miserable feelings stayed out of his mind. But there was something his heart desired more. Inuyasha just wanted to stop thinking about Kagome. Her words had given him so much pain that he even dreamt of her and their final conversation. His dream, as any other, started beautifully.
Inuyasha was in a tropical sun drenched island, feeling his toes reaching the cold salty sea water. He could feel the breeze move his hair and then, he heard someone call his name. A sweet voice calling from the distance, he saw his raven haired vixen waving at him and smiled. He ran towards Kagome, wanting to kiss her and hug her as if time stood still, trying to keep that moment in his hands as long as he could. Inuyasha wished to hold her against him in his strong arms, feeling the warmth of her body burn against his cold one. The moment Inuyasha was so close to touch her, a precipice appeared and he fell right down, feeling the terrible adrenaline fill up his body and finally waking up in icy sweat as he tried to catch his own breath.
Inuyasha got up, realizing that after such a nightmare he wouldn't be able to sleep again, for now. He went towards his counter and grabbed one of his old companions also known as cigarettes. He introduced one of them to his mouth and lit it up before inhaling the nicotine and feeling its addictive flavor inside his mouth; he held the smoke in his mouth for a moment before letting it out in small perfect circles. Inuyasha heard someone knock his door and after getting a bit scared of the tapping sound on the old wooden door; he immediately walked towards it and opened.
“Hey, here's some stuff I brought you for tomorrow night… are you okay? You look as if a train had just run over you.” Inuyasha nodded almost mechanically and Miroku shook his head.
“Yeah, I'm fine… what's in there?” Inuyasha asked and offered Miroku a cigarette; he simply shook his head again.
“There are a few things I want you to wear tomorrow…” Miroku said with goofy smile plastered on his face.
“What things?” he inquired and Miroku chuckled.
“Some stuff you'll use later on but before you use them, I have to explain you what are they for.” Miroku dropped a huge box on Inuyasha's bed and smiled. “To make it easier I separated everything in two bags, a white plastic one and brown paper one… so the plastic one contains what you'll need tomorrow and the brown is for after, make sure to read the instructions in the white one because that's very important.”
“Fine.” Inuyasha mumbled and sighed. “Wanna go out and have a beer?”
“I'm afraid I'll have to pass, I'll meet Sango later on and I don't want to drink for now… and don't smoke too close to me please.” Inuyasha arched his brow again and Miroku smiled, this time cheerfully. Miroku pulled out a small velvet box from his pocket. “I'm proposing to Sango tonight… with her parents to ask for their permission.”
“Wow, but you're only 18… what's the occasion?” Inuyasha asked interested and Miroku smiled.
“She's pregnant,” Miroku said proudly and turned his eyes towards his watch.
“Congratulations.” Inuyasha said sincerely and Miroku smiled dreamily.
Inuyasha threw out of his window the cigarette left over, he let out the last of the smoke he had in his mouth and pulled out the note that had the white plastic bag. Inuyasha lazily looked at it and smiled. He read it at loud.
“Burn everything when you're done.” Inuyasha read and smiled a bit. “Such a clever kid.”
“Hey, I'm not a kid… you're only two years older than me.” Inuyasha chuckled. “Oh, wow… was that your laugh Inuyasha? Because lately I thought that it was only a myth.” Miroku joked.
“It's just that I'm worried about Kagome, would you… would you call her and ask her where she is? Please?” he almost begged, Miroku pulled out his cell phone but just heard that her phone had been disconnected.
“She's not answering me… I'm sure she'll call you later, cheer up.” Inuyasha nodded and Miroku patted his back. “I have to go but I'll see you tomorrow, okay?”
“Yeah sure, hey… don't screw it up with Sango.” Inuyasha warned and Miroku chuckled as he walked towards the door.
“Don't worry, I won't.” Miroku said before going out of Inuyasha's apartment.

“Are you still mad because I let you fall?” Bankotsu asked, Kagome had been fuming in a corner of his office for about half an hour now and it was driving him crazy. “No? Then must be mad that I kissed your neck and didn't leave the hickie I promised.”
“Ass.” Kagome mumbled and he laughed.
“Alright, I'm sorry… I won't let you fall off my lap again.” Kagome remained silent; she heard his footsteps approach the place she had been sitting.
Kagome suddenly felt her face being tilted and felt something hit her lips; Bankotsu ravished her soft lips by placing his mouth above hers. He softly made his tongue move slowly inside her mouth and felt her velvet tongue static as he explored her cavity. For a moment, Kagome was motionless without knowing what to do but suddenly she recovered and pushed him away from her before giving Bankotsu the slap he had earned for trying such a stunt. He caressed his reddened cheek as he laughed walking towards his desk.
“It was worth it.” Bankotsu commented and sat back on his chair, he looked at his watch. “Did you see the time sweetheart?”
“I really don't care much about the hour right now.” She said furiously as he kept a silly smile on his face.
“It's time to sleep; now you have two options… the first one, sleep with me… no pun intended by the way.” Kagome rolled her eyes. “Or two, sleep in the basement with no mattress… just a pillow and a blanket. So what's your choice?”
“I'll sleep in the basement, thanks.” Kagome replied furiously and added a false smile to her response; Bankotsu scoffed and grabbed her by the arm as he pulled her out of his office.
“Ouch! That hurts!” Kagome yelled as she was pushed inside the dark room.
“It wouldn't be hurting if you just picked the right choice Kagome.” He said as he threw a pillow towards her, Bankotsu then walked to a closet and threw her three blankets. “It gets cold in here and I don't want you to get sick.” Kagome simply looked at him as she gathered the blankets.
“Why would you care?” she asked but Bankotsu sighed as he ignored her.
“By the way, I'm calling Inuyasha first thing in the morning to let him know where you are… he must be dying to know.” Bankotsu laughed with malevolence as he slammed the door, locking Kagome inside.
