A man with a proud air of conceited dignity shouldered his way through the crowd of the popular night club. His sleek silver hair was tied back at the nape of his neck and he sported a black silk shirt wit the top few buttons undone-letting the women (and occasional man) who dared to stare see the swoon-worthy smooth skin of his muscle ripped, yet lean chest.
His tight black slacks tapered out slightly at the legs, rustling the fabric with each step he took. However, the sharp clothes were not what was most striking about this man, nor was it his oddly hued hair.
It had to be his liquid-hot golden eyes; as the flames of his soul seemed to freeze every person those haunting orbs landed on.
He had had enough of the endless stream of whores that threw themselves at him here. It was time to head back home.
He stepped out onto the damp street; it had finally stopped raining and now it was time again fro the most grotesque creatures of both races to emerge once again. No one came within ten feet of him, however, because only a fool, like his baka brother would attempt something as to mugging him.
He made his way out of the city, relishing the high he had gotten just walking through the most dangerous parts of the destroyed city of Tokyo.
Something brushed his senses and he stiffened as his fingers wrapped around the door knob. Slowly, he swung open the door of the large estate, and the scent washed over him in full force. It ~was~ her.
His eyes narrowed as he made his way through the house. She disappeared over four centuries ago and now here she was again-in ~his~ home, no less! Damn that wench's spirit for plaguing him so!
"Kuso," he swore under his breath as he made his way to the source of the scent. He took a long inhale; his eyes flashing.
Wait… this was the exact same girl from all those years ago… not a reincarnation…but one in the same. How--?
He threw open the door to his elaborate study, the force of it knocking books from the wall, sending them crashing to the floor in a heap of dust gathered over years of neglect.
There she sat; as beautiful as ever… but so very… very different. She was…cold; with a frost in her soul to rival his own. He almost winced when she smirked, afraid that her perfect face would crack and shatter like ice.
A katana lay across his deck; it's powerful aura surrounding the blade glinting in the light.
"Sesshoumaru-dono…" the girl sneered.
The lord ignored her insulting tone and let a cockeyed smile cross his face.
"So, you're Taijiya, the great Devil Eradicator."
His eyes roamed over her well toned body, which had become firm with muscles. Strange how time could do that to someone. She used to be so soft, fragile enough to crumble in his fingers if he had chose to do the deed.
Kagome shuddered, feeling sleazy and unbathed after the brother of her old bastard partner gazed at her. "That would be me."
Sesshoumaru felt his smile slowly creeping into a smirk of his own as he watched a look of disgust cross her face. At least she hadn't lost all emotion. He almost laughed out loud at this thought. What ~had~ his brother done to make her turn to such a …heartless… lifestyle? But more importantly…
"How is it that you are still alive after all of these centuries?" he asked with a stoic expression replacing the mirth glittering on his face.
Kagome arched one brow and rolled her shoulders. "That's hardly the subject I came to discuss with you, Sesshoumaru-dono."
"Then why ~have~ I come home to such a surprise, Kagome-chan?" Sesshoumaru asked as he walked around to lower him self gracefully into the chair, sweeping his cloak under his legs, and looked up at the girl who was now sitting in a rather compromising position on his desk. "Unpleasant, but a surprise none the less."
Kagome's eyes narrowed and swung her legs closed, from her masculine sitting position to having her legs crossed tightly, sending no mixed messages to the rather vulgar man. "I would like to know of the whereabouts of an old friend of ours."
Sesshoumaru arched a brow. "You mean the baka hanyou."
Kagome nodded. "That, I do."
At last, the lord dropped his mirth-filled expression, and leaned back, becoming serious. "The last I heard, he went to America to stake claim on the new lands there."
The assassin's eyes flashed in anger. "How long ago?"
The youkai shrugged. "One … maybe two centuries… ago…."
Kagome growled and slammed her fist down into the desk where she was perched. The material buckled and shattered, splinters flying across the room as rose colored chi wrapped up and down her arm, her eyes flashing between silver and blue and back again.
Sesshoumaru's eyebrow's shot up. That desk was made from the bones of an Indestructible. A demon from the third level of hell which he had slain in a battle that nearly over took him. Their bones were said to have lasted for millenniums and then some, and very hard to dispose of.
Kagome leapt off of a desk, lighting up a cigarette, which made the youkai wrinkle his nose in repugnance. The girl slammed her blade back into it's sheath and walked towards the door. "Thanks for the info, Sesshou-dono." She lifted her hand and crooked a couple fingers, signaling her departure, her cigarette settled between her lips gently as she took a drag, inhaled, and let out the puff of smoke without removing the coffin nail from her mouth at any point.
Sesshoumaru watched her leave, then looked back to his desk with it's completely shattered top, the first trace of apprehension trickling into his veins since the time of his father's death.
