[ P - Pre-Teen ]

Kagome had spoken true and just as the shadows were growing tall they were walking into the village. They headed

straight for Kaede’s hut, and as they entered an orange ball of fur flew at Kagome nearly knocking the breath out of her,

she looked down smiling “Hello Shippo! I’ve missed you!”

Shippo the young Kitsune bounced in her arms saying “Hiya Kagome!! Did you bring me any candy?” she smiled pulling

a sucker out of her bag she unwrapped it and handed it to him, he was ecstatic and hugged her neck. He clambered onto

her shoulder looking at the rest of the group as they settled around the hut, his eyes landed on Inuyasha who crouched at

Kagome’s side, staring up at him.

He looked to the Inu hanyou curiously “What’s up with you, Inuyasha?” he jumped down landing in front of him, and

inspecting him closely “Something wrong?” Inuyasha tried sniffing him, but to no avail because his nose was still screwed

up from Sango’s powder, he snatched the sucker from Shippo’s hand and crunched it, dropping the stick and eating the

rest whole.

The young Kitsune looked to Inuyasha in horror, as though he had just been told the world would end , then wailed

“Kagome!! Inuyasha ate my candy!!” Kagome who had started to explain things to Kaede, sighed and scooped up

Shippo pulling another sucker from her bag and giving it to him. He looked to her and whined “Aren’t you going to ‘sit’

him for being mean to me?” Kagome reached down to scratch Inuyasha’s ear, who had been looking to Shippo

longingly watching the new sucker in his hand. The baby Kitsune looked to her with greater horror at the fact that she

had not defended him and was now scratching Inuyasha’s ear!!! Did she have a death wish or something?!

Kagome sat down and watched Inuyasha scoot over to flop beside her, his ear resting conveniently near her hand,

hoping she would commence rubbing it.

Kagome complied to his wishes and finally looked up to the others, all eyes rested on her and the purring hanyou

seemingly connected to her hand. She explained everything to Kaede and Shippo, and by the end of her tale, Inuyasha

had moved himself into her lap, to give her better access to his ears. Kaede looked at him curiously as she sighed “Tis a

strange tale, I know not if I will be able to find a reversal of this, there is strong magic at work here to overcome our

stubborn hanyou’s mind.”

Kaede watched him doze contently in Kagome’s lap. She smiled “It looks as though our puppy Inuyasha has found his

owner, eh? It seems you have taken good care of him.” Kagome blushed and changed the subject “So, how long do you

think it will take to find a cure?” Kaede thought and said “I will commence my search tonight and hopefully will come

across it, before it begins to set.” Kagome looked up at her “Set?” the old miko nodded “Aye, if a curse like this is left

too long it may become permanent.”

Shippo smiled gleefully “We should leave him this way, he won’t be mean to me now.” Sango shook her head “No way

Shippo, we need him to reclaim jewel shards, he can’t help us with the mind of a dog.” Kaede stood “Lets eat, you all

look hungry and I know Inuyasha must be starving, he always is.” Kagome smiled and eased him off her lap to help.
