Don’t go
Chapter 2
Last time: Moonlight painted the outline of the tree’s surrounding the well. A small crater replaced where Inuyasha and Kikyo once stood. Her friend was gone. “Inuyasha…?” Sango whispered into the shadow, breathing in the chill of the night air. Realization struck her with force and she found herself running as fast as her legs would carry her in the direction of Kaede’s village. She had to find someone, and fast.
...ooo... (A/N – this is a scene divider, if u were kind of confused)
Sango whipped passed the trees in the forest, completely unaware of which missed her and the branch that hit her and marred the smooth surface of her cheek.
She finally made it to the village and burst through the bamboo door of Kaede’s hut nearly breaking it off. She had to fight the urge to scream for help the whole way there because she had to be respectful to the village people who were trying to sleep in preparation for another hard days work.
Miroku quickly rushed to her side and Kaede put down the potions she was mixing to give her full attention to the shook up demon exterminator.
”Sango,” Miroku calmly asked her "what’s wrong, what happened?”
So many thoughts were rushing through his mind of what could have happened to her while she was gone, she took way to long for his liking. And with Inuyasha not there….is he still at the well?
Miroku was taken from his thoughts when Sango slumped against him and said something he never thought he would hear.
“Inuyasha, has been taken by kikyo…to hell” Sango said the two last word with pure disgust and practically spit out Kikyo’s name.
“What!” Miroku and Kaede both managed to let out.
“He’s gone.” Sango stepped back from Miroku, her tear stained cheeks fully exposed also revealing the cut on her cheek.
Miroku’s eyes narrowed and he absent mindedly ran a finger over the cut. Sango just stared at him.
“When did this happened Sango? Will ye be alright waiting here for a moment?” Kaede broke the stretching silence.
Miroku quickly left Sango so he could lay out a sleeping mat for her. "Here, I think you need to rest a bit…”
Kaede left the room to reappear with a large spell book. “How exactly did Kikyo transport him to the other world?” She sat down and began flipping through it.
“ There were no words of a spell spoken...not that I recall, all she said was something about a destiny…and then a red light came out of her…”Sango shuddered remembering the blinding light that may have taken the life of one of her best friends.
"There may be a way…to get Inuyasha back to this world… though I must find the right spell.”
Kaede( thankfully) interrupted her thoughts.
Miroku and Sango waited by the fire patiently.
“Here, I found it! This should work for resurrection from the afterlife… the only way is that of a wish on the… ” Kaede stopped as she looked closer in the page. Miroku and Sango held there breath…Kaede looked up from the book to look into the eyes of her guests. “ The one thing that we need is absolutely impossible to get…”
“ It will be fine, me and Miroku can get it! If I must fight for it I will! ...” Sango trailed off desperate for a solution. Miroku just looked down in defeat.
“ No Sango…” Kaede interrupted. “you need the complete Shikon no tama…there is no way to get him back at this point in time. I am truly sorry...”
Everyone was silent…Kaede just shook her head.
“what about…Naraku? He will just keep getting stronger if we do nothing! “ Miroku looked up and demanded an answer from the old priestess.
“Yes!” Sango wanted an answer as well.” what will happen to us all, are we not strong enough to fight against Naraku without him?”
“Its true, Inuyasha is most likely the strongest of us all."
“ There is nothing we can do.” Kaede repeated while slowly standing up…there are even some things the great Kaede does not know…
“ What about…lady kagome “ Miroku asked returning his gaze to the fire. Neither him or Sango bothered to get up as well.
Sango gasped “what will kagome think?”
Kaede returned to her seat after putting the book away.
"We will have to wait until she returns, when did you say she would be coming back? Morning was it?” Kaede needed to know.
“Yes…” Sango replied “she will be back tomorrow.”
“Great.” Miroku tried to get read of the heaviness that now seemed to own the room
“we should all get some rest, maybe by some chance lady Kagome may know a way to retrieve …Inuyasha… from the underworld” He hesitated on his friends name.
The three of them seemed to all have the same thoughts ;
We will get you back Inuyasha….there has to be a way…we wont give up on you…we CANT give up on you...
“ We will inform the others in the morning as well. “ Miroku finished as they all headed off to bed.
“ Right.” Sango reluctantly agreed, dreading the look on poor Shippo's face when he discovers the news.
Kaede remained silent. The lantern was blown out and now the whole village was tucked under a blanket of darkness, the rims of the small huts being only lit by the moonlight while Kagome slept without a care on her side of the well…was there any hope?
