Skeleton Song by Sevendust

I'll stay right here with all these familiar faces

And shut-out everyone else from the world we created

Instead of becoming the sick and twisted

I'll lose myself in a song again

CHORUS:

There's nothing wrong

In being far from right

Another skeleton song

Stuck in my head all night

And there's something wrong

When everything goes right

Another skeleton song

Will save my life tonight

Was it that hard - to open the door for faith

When everyone feels the same

A different face but on the same page

We don't need something - that hurts more than nothing

So I lose myself in a song again

CHORUS

So I try my best to see

How you can relate to so much grief

Never stop forgetting why it is you came here

For awhile it seems to be - it's all you ever think and sleep

Just reach back for me - I'll find another place to go

Sesshomaru stood on the balcony of his bedchamber, his long white hair blowing slightly in the wind. His golden eyes stared at the horizon watching the sun setting beyond the land. A gust of cool air caressed his face as he continued to stand outside and night descend upon the world.

His ear twitched when he heard a soft moan coming from within the room. Turning from the balcony, he walked into the room to see the young woman he had battled with a week prior had awoken.

Aliya heard footsteps approach her bedside and she turned her large golden eyes to see the beautiful demon watching her. His face was expressionless as he stared down at her. There was an aura of sophisticated around him as he watched her. The young woman did not know what to think but continued to stare into his eyes. "You are to stay in my palace," he said to her.

"I don't want to stay here," Aliya said. "You have a place to stay?" The young woman opened her mouth to protest but closed it knowing that she had no where else to go. For the past year she had been staying outside. It was difficult for her to sleep during the night for fear of demons that would attack her. "No," she whispered after a few minutes of silence. "Then you shall stay here," he repeated.

Aliya sighed and turned her face away not wanting to talk anymore. Sesshomaru continued to watch her. There was something about her but he shook the thought from his mind as he walked over to the edge of the bed. He picked up a set of kimonos there and returned to where she was laying. "What are those?" she asked him. "I had these made for you." He laid them on the bed beside her. "You should dress for I will show you around the palace."

The young woman nodded but continued to stare at the wall. After a few minutes she turned towards the kimonos and ran her fingers over the soft material. Slowly she moved to the edge of the bed and stood up. Looking down at herself she saw that she was completely naked. Aliya bent over to pick up the first layer kimono when she lifted her eyes to see Sesshomaru watching her.

She paused staring at him. "Are... you going to leave?" she said. Sesshomaru quietly left the room without a backwards glance at her. When the door slid shut, Aliya slipped the first kimono over her soft body. She placed each layer of kimono over her body until there was nine. Tying the lilac colored obi around her waist. Looking down at herself, she had to admit that the kimonos fit better than she thought.

Aliya ran her fingers through her hair a few times to loosen the strands before she walked over to the door. Reaching out she was about to slide it open when it opened revealing Sesshomaru waiting for her. She tilted her head up to look at him. Their eyes locked. The young woman felt an electric sensation hit her in a wave. Sesshomaru turned from her. "Follow me," he said, passively.

She swallowed, stepping out of the room and followed after him. Aliya stared at his back watching his long hair sway back and forth. After a few minutes, she shifted her gaze around the hall examining everything as they passed it. She was so distracted that she did not see the demon stop before her and she slammed into his body.

Sesshomaru turned to look at her, with a raised eyebrow. Aliya's cheeks tinted with embarrassment. "'m sorry," she whispered. The demon reached out, curled his finger underneath her chin and lifted her face so that he could look into her eyes. "You must pay attention to everything around you," he said softly before removing his hand from her face and continued down the hall.

Aliya took a deep breath as she shivered. "Come..." he called to her. The young woman began to follow the inu-daisho again. He led her through the long corridor for some time before he stopped before a door. Reaching out he slid it to one side revealing a magnificent garden. Aliya gasped as she stepped out into the open air.

"Go..." Sesshomaru said as he watched her. The young woman looked up at him, her large golden eyes shining beautifully in the sun. She turned back towards the garden and walked over the dirt path. Aliya stopped every other step to examine the different flowers. When she reached a knoll, Aliya sat staring out.

The Inu-Daisho Lord watched as the young woman sat on a knoll in his gardens. She stared transfixed towards the setting sun. What could she be thinking about? he thought to himself. Sesshomaru had long realized that the young woman intrigued him as he watched her from the moment he brought her to his palace. There was something clearly about her although he couldn't place it.

She exhibited a great power that he had never seen before. Aliya appeared to be another weak human girl but she showed such command over water that it was clear that she was something more. Sesshomaru slowly made his way over to her. He was determined to discover her secrets and understand her more. The Inu-Daisho sat behind the young woman and leaned back against a tree. He watched her as she sat before him, watching dusk descend upon the palace.

Aliya had felt the Inu-Daisho sit behind her but she chose to pretend that he wasn't behind her. But as the stars dotted the canopy, she slowly turned to see that he had closed his eyes. She watched him for a moment studying his face. The young woman shifted her gaze away from him.

She knew that she would remain in his palace since that first day she awoke and found herself there. Even though a year had passed since she had learned the truth about Inuyasha and Naraku, she still felt that she could not trust men.

Standing she prepared to walk away, when she felt something hold her back. Aliya turned to see that the inu-daisho had not been asleep but merely resting. His large clawed hand had caught hers as she tried to walk away. As he slowly rose to his feet, he watched her. Her hand remained in his as they stared into each other's eyes. After what seemed like hours, Sesshomaru released her hand and descended down the knoll.

The young woman watched him as he entered into the palace leaving her alone. She could not understand what had just transpired but in that fleeting moment when they locked eyes she had an odd feeling of security. Aliya's brow knitted together as she closed her eyes and clenched her left fist. No... Inuyasha and Naraku have taught me that I can never trust again. I will not allow myself to be the fool again.
