Chapter 4: Sesshomaru

** Feudal Era **


“Just… give… up… half-breed.” Sesshomaru panted, leaning against a tree for strength.

“Not… until… you’re dead.” Inuyasha panted back, leaning on his sword for support.

“Then… we’ll fight… forever.” Sesshomaru said, standing up straight with a rather lot of difficulty.

“Fine by me.” Inuyasha stood up, easier than Sesshomaru but his pain wasn’t any less extensive. “Keh. I’m not even tired any more.” He lied.

“Then why is your bitch coming to bail you out?” Inuyasha whipped his head around to see Kagome coming to a halt a few feet behind him.

“Kagome, go back to Sango’s.” He ordered.

“No. Something’s obviously going on.”

“Just go!”

“Listen to him if you want to keep your head.” Sesshomaru rarely spoke with such rage. Of course, he always spoke callously, but the anger seemed to be seeping through his aura now.

“No. I’m not leaving. Neither of you can make me!” She put her hands across her chest, holding her posture to prove she was determined.

‘She acts just like me’, Inuyasha thought.

“Fine. If that is how it is going to be, let’s just finish this.” Sesshomaru ran swiftly toward them. He ran with such grace that it appeared as though he could glide.

Inuyasha knocked Sesshomaru’s sword away with his Tetsusaiga. Kagome ran up and slashed her claws across his chest, leaving a sizeable wound. Sesshomaru collapsed to his knees.

“That’s my girl Kags.” Inuyasha smirked. Kagome smiled back but it quickly turned into a gasp as Sesshomaru grabbed her leg and tossed her aside as though she were a slight obtrusion. Kagome hit her head on a near by rock and felt herself blacking out.

“That was far too easy.” Sesshomaru said dully, trying to stand but without success.

“You… hurt… my… KAGOME!” Inuyasha’s demon blood boiled. His mate had been hurt! Something had to be done about this injustice. “Prepare for a death so unbearable!”

“I’m shaking.” Sesshomaru said coolly. The fact that he could no longer stand on his own was irrelevant to him, he still intended to win.

“Good.” Inuyasha threw every attack at Sesshomaru that he could think of. Most of the attacks were dodged or barely grazed him.

Sesshomaru then laid off the defense and began the offensive. He enjoyed using his poison claws most. Inuyasha dodged him easy enough, until he noticed Kagome stirring, the small distraction led him to be hit hard in the chest. The poison seeped into his body and he felt his body shake from the damage.

Kagome stood up, still feeling dizzy but prepared to fight. She noticed Sesshomaru’s clawed hand inside of Inuyasha’s chest and she shrieked.

“Inuyasha!”

Sesshomaru whipped around to see her staring at him and he came after her without hesitation. She backed up, unsure of how to counter his attack, finally she was backed against a tree. She looked at him just as he tried to claw at her. She could see his eyes were almost entirely crimson. The same thing happened when Inuyasha’s blood boiled, his eyes would turn completely demonic. Kagome jumped up and grabbed onto a high branch, flipping up so she was perched on top of it she waited for the right moment. As Sesshomaru turned his back to the trunk of the tree, preparing to go after Inuyasha again she jumped down on his back.

“You leave him alone!” She said as she bit his pointy ear.

“You bitch!”

“Don’t call her that!” Inuyasha ran at Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru threw Kagome off of him and she fell toward the old well.

She let out a cry for help followed by Inuyasha’s name.

“Kagome!” He ran over to her and grabbed her hand, but she had already fallen in the well; he was now being dragged down with her.

“What’s going on?” He asked, holding Kagome tightly. “Why are we floating? And why haven’t we landed yet?”

“I don’t know…”
