Kagome ran up to Inuyasha's room, it was torn apart, the pictures were ripped off the wall, his dresser was knocked over, his TV smashed, his mattress was flipped over, hanging off the edge of the bed. Kagome ran into his personal bathroom, but he wasn't in there either. She left his room and checked every room on the second floor. She then ran up to the third floor, and the attic, she didn't find anything. She ran back down the stairs yelling for Inuyasha and Miroku. Miroku was down in the basement, he came back up just as Kagome came down the stairs.

"Did you find anything Miroku?" she asked looking at him uneasily.

"No, I take it you didn't either."

"No, there is no one here." she said looking angrily at the floor. Cursing the carpet as though it had some part in the events of today. "Where could he be?" Kagome sat on the stairs and waited for the answer to magically fall from the ceiling. Miroku walked around the hallway, pacing back and forth, the motion made Kagome dizzy.

"If I were a hot-headed, suicidal teen where would I be?" she asked her self, trying to lighten her mood, but it wasn't working. Kagome heard the sound of a key's jingling and the sound of the doorknob turning.

"Fuck," Miroku whispered as he looked for some place to hide, but it was too late. Naraku walked in and noticed the two teenagers.

"Oh, hello, Miroku, and Kagome," he bowed to each of them and they smiled uneasily, giving a gentle wave. "I am sorry Sir is not here, neither Sir actually. Master went on a business trip and young Sir took a walk to the cemetery." Kagome smiled brightly at the words the servant spoke.

"You rock Naraku!" she got off the stairs and hugged the man, who had put down a bag full of groceries, "I am so getting you a raise! Oh and Miroku will pay for the window." she smiled and ran out the door before Miroku could say anything about her last comment.

Kagome ran quickly down the long, winding, driveway. She was overcome with a new energy as she sprinted steadily. She climbed easily over the gate and got into her car. Miroku followed her, and she waited for him to climb the fence and get into her car.

"Crap, which cemetery?" she asked, thinking Miroku would know more about his best friend then she herself would.

"Well, his mom is buried at Oakpark, no Oakwood, no umm, OakOak?" he tried to think of the name but he couldn't come up with the right one.

"Oakridge?" she asked, that being the only cemetery she could think of with an 'oak' in it.

"Yeah that is it!" Kagome started her car and drove to Oakridge cemetery.

She arrived at the cemetery about ten minutes later, she didn't see any sign of life. She continued to drive around the giant cemetery, which was by far the largest in the state. At last she noticed Inuyasha, his silver hair swaying violently in the harsh breeze. She stopped her car a few yards away, so as not to scare him off, and she walked slowly toward him.

He was talking to himself, Kagome couldn't hear what he was saying until she got closer. He stopped talking then, and sat down, staring at the grave stone. The tombstone had a fresh bouquet of flowers on it, it also seemed to be polished. There were no stray leaves littering the site.

"Inuyasha?" Kagome tried to be gentle, so as to not frighten him, but it was hard with the violent wind she had to yell to be heard over.

"Kagome? What are you doing here? You aren't suppose to be here," he looked at her with great concern and fright.

"I was worried about you. Miroku, he came up to me a few minutes after you left, and he told me we had to find you. I was really worried. I didn't understand why you left today, and Miroku just confused me more." she sat down next to him and continued to look at him sweetly.

"I left because I had other things to do. Unfortunately my plans were ruined." Inuyasha scoffed and shook his head, continuing to look at the tombstone.

"Wont you please tell me what happened to you." she tried to turn Inuyasha's gaze to her, but her gentle touch only caused him to look harder away.

"It's none of your business wench! Leave me the fuck alone!" the anger in his voice surprised Kagome. Just moments ago he had been sitting there calmly talking to her, and now he was yelling with hatred. Kagome's mouth fell open as her eyes filled with tears. She should be used to his coldness, and the way he acted as though he hated you, when he actually was just too afraid to reveal any emotion except hate. He had been so kind to her at times though that she didn't understand why he was being so cruel when she was trying to be there for him.

"I am sorry Inuyasha. It wasn't, I was just hoping," she trailed off as she stood up. She stared off into the sky, which had turned a dark, sinister blue, the black storm clouds rolling in, blocking out all signs of light. "I hope you find what you are looking for," she was going to say something else, but she couldn't bring herself to. There was no point in her opinion.

Kagome walked slowly back to her car, Inuyasha stared after her, watching her graceful figure casually open the car door and descending into the drivers seat. She was like a goddess descending from the heavens, the presence of her made Inuyasha feel, and know, that nothing would ever compare to her.

"I take it that didn't go well." Kagome was still crying but Miroku hadn't heard the tone of his voice that actually scared Kagome. "Hey, it is okay. He wont do anything with his father gone. Don't worry," Miroku gently held Kagome and continued to whisper comforting phrases and an occasional, 'Shh'.

"Why haven't they left yet?" Inuyasha said out loud to himself. He squinted to see into the car, he noticed Miroku was holding Kagome. A deep growl escaped Inuyasha's throat as he glared upon the pair. Inuyasha stood up and walked toward the car, as he got halfway there he stopped. It doesn't matter, after my dad gets back I wont be there for her anyway. Besides, Miroku is a nice guy. Inuyasha turned back around and went back to the gravestone he was so interested in.

"What would you do mom? Would you go claim her? Or would you let her move on thinking you were an insensitive jerk?" he talked out loud as he had been doing before.

Inuyasha had always loved his mother more then his father, even when his father wasn't abusive. Although, it was hard to remember a time when he wasn't. Inuyasha knew that his mother's life wasn't easy, having to watch her only child, (his brother was his half brother, belonging only to the same father and some mother who had died before Inuyasha was born), get abused by the man she loved. If she ever tried to stop these violent upheavals however, she would get beaten up too, which caused Inuyasha to get angry. Inuyasha preferred to protect his mother, accepting his ritualistic beatings. There was no winning situation in the household, Inuyasha's father always had the upper hand. Finally one night she couldn't handle it anymore and confronted her husband.

Sakura* walked into her husband's study. He hated being disturbed, but she had to stop him from beating her son.

"Inutaishou?" she said gingerly. He grunted to her, signaling he was listening, "I wanted to talk to you about Inuyasha. I don't think he appreciates getting hurt by you." she couldn't find an easy way to word this.

"Is that so?" he asked, not having listened to a word she said.

"Yes, it is so. I wont allow it anymore. Now look here," she had walked fully into the study and was gaining courage. Her husband looked up at her from his desk and sighed heavily. "Inuyasha is my pride and joy, and I will not allow you to harm him anymore."

"Has he been saying things about me behind my back?" Inutaishou stood up and glared angrily at his wife.

"No, I am just sick of you hurting my boy!" Sakura was thrown across the room hitting her head hard against the wall.

"I will not tolerate such disrespect from you! You are my wife, you live to obey me!" the veins in his temple pulsated as he advanced further on his wife.

"I will not obey you! You are dispicable!" the womens eyes filled with tears of hatred, and hurt. She tried to hold them back, not wanting to show any weakness. Inutaishou picked her up by the neck and threw her again across the room. Sakura lay unconscious.

Inutaishou tied a thin wire around a high tree branch outside, he put a ladder at just the right height to reach the branch and he tied the wire around his wife's neck. Sakura awoke up from her unconscious state, she was sitting on the ladder. Realizing what was happening, she dug at the tight wire, Inutaishou pulled the ladder out from under her. She struggled further for a few moments, her breath trapped in her lungs, unable to come out. She dug her nails deep into her skin trying to get a hold of the wire. Her breath ceased, and she stopped struggling, her frail lifeless form hanging from the decaying Birch tree.

Inuyasha didn't find out about any of this until yesterday. That is when everything he ever thought he knew turned out to be a lie. His mother had allegedly hung herself, Inuyasha was at Miroku's for the night when this happened. He came home to find only his father remained. His reaction was expected (not eating, not sleeping), eventually though, he came to terms with his mothers death. But he could never understand why she would kill herself and leave her son alone.

Inuyasha went into his fathers study to find his car keys which his father had hidden to keep him away from Kagome. He was shifting through one of his locked drawers, Inuyasha was an expert at picking locks, and he found his mothers death certificate. He looked over it and noticed that it said there were cuticle marks on her neck, that implied she had tugged at the wire. If she wanted to kill herself, why would she struggle against her bindings? Inuyasha thought. He decided to not think of it, but he then saw pictures that the coroner must have taken. She looked badly beaten as well. His first reaction was Father! He didn't want to believe that his father had killed his mother, but that was the only conclusion he could find.

"Inuyasha? What are you doing in my study?" his father was standing in the doorframe, staring firmly at Inuyasha.

"I was looking for my car keys." he replied truthfully, knowing if he lied things would just get worse.

"What have I told you, time and time again? Never enter my office without permission." he stopped walked closer to the desk to get a better look at Inuyasha, "What have you got there?" he asked uneasily looking at the papers Inuyasha was holding.

"Mom's death certificate. It says that she hung herself, but there were marks that signified that she struggled against her bindings. And these pictures, she was beaten too dad. What happened to her?" Inuyasha saw no point in lying, or in pretending he hadn't seen anything.

"It is true, your mother did struggle. And before she hung herself," he hung his head, as though in sadness, this caused Inuyasha to let out an unsuppressed laugh. "I lost my temper slightly and accidentally hit her. It was dreadful, I'll never be able to forgive myself, she probably died thinking I hated her, which wasn't they way of it at all."

"You did hate her dad," Inuyasha remained calm. He put the papers back into his fathers desk and closed it, putting the lock back into place. "As much as you don't want to admit it, you only stayed with her because of me and your old fashioned ways. But I would rather have you two divorced then have had her die," his temper was rising, but his voice remained flat and calm.

"Well Inuyasha, I may have had times when I didn't think I could live with your mother, I'll admit. However, I never wanted her to kill herself." he replied dryly.

"She didn't kill herself, did she dad?" he asked, moving to the side of his fathers desk.

"What are you implying son?"

"That you killed my mother, gods know you would have killed me too, had I not been at Miroku's, then you would have blamed it on some random serial killer who only kills women and children." Inuyasha thought up the idea as he spoke, but he agreed with it more with every word he spoke.

"That is a ridiculous outrage!" his father's temperature was rising, Inuyasha advanced on him, backing him into a corner.

"What is wrong dad? Can't handle it when your opponent can actually defend themselves?!" Inuyasha advanced further on him.

"What has that little whore done to you? You never used to be so violent." Inuyasha stopped walking.

"What did you say?"

"I asked what that little whore you are screwing around with has done to you. Don't think Naraku didn't see you come in with her Friday night. My servants are very loyal to me." Inuyasha knew that his father had threatened Naraku's job, Inuyasha felt no hatred toward his servant, only to his dad.

"Don't you ever call my Kagome that again," he stated calmly, continuing to advance.

"Your Kagome? You don't even know what you are talking about. You think you know love? You think that little whore will teach you? You know nothing!" his father spoke with wrath that Inuyasha had heard many times before.

"Never speak of Kagome that way!" Inuyasha punched his father repeatedly. He kicked him in the stomach and his father coughed up blood. Inuyasha stopped, not wanting to actually kill his dad.

His father got off the floor and kicked Inuyasha's legs out from underneath him. Inuyasha fell to the ground and his father began to kick him repeatedly in the ribs. Inuyasha coiled up into a fetal position as his dad continued to beat him. He picked him up and threw him into the wall, that seemed to be his favorite form of abuse. Inuyasha collapsed,
"I hate you," he whispered, unable to stop himself from falling unconcious.

anti-clamatic with the whole 'where is Inuyasha' thing. eh?
I had no idea what Inuyasha's mother's name was to tell you the truth... so I was reading a story created by one of the amazing authors on Mediaminer and I noticed they used this name... so I took it... If it is the right one groovy, if not I forgot who I found it from but when I figure it out (cause I am a moron and didn't think to take down the writers name) I will be sure to credit them... ^_^
