Disclaimer: I almost forgot…oops! Well, anyways…I HEAR YOU CALLING, CALLING FOR ME OUT IN THE NIGHT! BUT IT'S ALL BAD, AND I KNOW THAT! Yeah…so that is so not a disclaimer…but look at earlier chapters if you want to see one, sheesh!

Chapter 11: Silence

Sango tried to squirm away from Kouga, wanting to be freed from this horrible nightmare. 'I really wish she would stop doing that,' Kouga thought to himself. Sango immediately stopped when she felt something against her leg. 'Oh my Gods…' Sango thought, and looked into Kouga's eyes. His eyes were almost pleading, but she was not sure of what. Sango stayed perfectly still, not wanting Kouga to react more to her struggle to get free. Slowly, she turned her head and looked at the little girl that was so close to death and sighed. 'Is there no way out of this?' she thought. A second later, the little girl woke up and looked into Sango's eyes. Sango could not suppress a shiver as she looked into Rin's eyes that were usually filled with love, life, and playfulness. 'What happened to you Rin?' she thought, tears forming in her eyes at the sight of the little human girl.

"Sango-chan?" Rin asked the older girl. Rin was doing a good job of hiding all her emotions, just as she had seen her beloved Sesshoumaru do. "Rin is scared, Sango-chan, but Rin can help," she told the older girl. Sango had a puzzled look on her face, and stared at the younger girl. 'What does she mean…she can help?' Sango thought, not breaking eye contact.

"I should kill you right now," Sesshoumaru said to Kikyou. He now had her throat in his claws, and the poison was starting to form within his claws. Kikyou had a slightly fearful look in her eyes as she looked down upon the youkai lord.

"Does she mean that much to you?" Kikyou asked him, her voice still as cold as it usually was.

"Sesshoumaru? What are you do…KIKYOU?!" Inuyasha spat as he came into the clearing. "Do you have something to do with this?" he glared at the should-be-dead miko.

"What if I do? I hope you realize which one of you is betraying you…" she whispered before she summoned her soul stealers. There was an eerie glow around her, and both the dog demons had to shield their eyes. Kikyou gave the corrupted shard to one of her soul stealers, but instead of placing it in Inuyasha like she thought she had instructed, it flew off towards Sango, Rin, and Kouga. 'Damnit!' she cursed, but knew she had to leave immediately. A few more of her soul stealers wrapped around her, and lifted her away from Sesshoumaru's death grip. After the light receded, Sesshoumaru and Inuyasha both cursed. "Where was that soul stealer taking the shard?" she asked aloud, hoping to see which way the demon went. 'I'll go to the captives,' she thought, and so her soul stealers took her there.

Once Kikyou got to where the 'prisoners' were, she realized they were all gone. "Damnit!" she cursed again. A moment later, Shippou came out of the bushes and transformed into his true form. He still had his kitsune appearance, but he looked at least ten years older.

"What happened, pet?" he asked Kikyou, looking around for his captives.

"They all got away," she murmured, knowing that Shippou was not a good person to piss off.

"WHAT?!" he yelled, grabbing her by the neck. "Who touched you?!" he asked, trying to sound somewhat calm.

"Sess…Sesshoumaru tried to kill me," she spat out bitterly.

"I'm surprised he didn't…" Shippou commented dryly. "Did you get your job done?"

"No…I gave the shard to one of my soul stealers, and it did not do what I told it to!" she replied, trying to remain calm.

"FUCKING BITCH!" Shippou screamed and slapped her across the face. "I ask you to do one simple task, and you can't even do that right?!" he snapped. "Fuck! Now I can't go back to the others, because I'm sure that bitch Sango will be back there, and tell them fucking everything!" Shippou sat down at the base of a nearby tree to sulk.

Sango was dragging Kouga and the now unconscious Rin towards the direction of camp. 'Just a little further…' she thought when she was suddenly stopped by running into somebody. Before she could hit the ground a strong arm wrapped around her. She looked up to see beautiful golden eyes, and realized it was Sesshoumaru. She gasped, then tried to talk to him, but realized that no words would come out. 'Chikuso,' she thought bitterly. Sesshoumaru looked down at the woman that he now held in his arm, and realized that she was trying to talk but couldn't.

"What happened?" he asked, doing a good job of keeping his voice monotone. Kouga glared at the inu youkai, and grabbed Sango away from him. Sesshoumaru narrowed his eyes at the wolf youkai, but before he even attempted an attack, he saw Rin in Sango's arms, and she was not breathing. A look of pure dread crossed Sesshoumaru's face, and Sango looked down at the little girl. Sango gasped as she noticed the girl's body go cold, and he hand hanging limply. 'No! No no no no no!' Sango thought, shaking her head violently, and trying to hold back the tears, but was unsuccessful.

"What's going on?" Inuyasha asked, then stopped dead in his tracks at what he saw. Sesshoumaru had a look of dread and sorrow on his face, Sango was holding Sesshoumaru's little girl in her arms, but after a sniff, he realized that the girl was dead. Kouga had an arm around Sango's waist, and Inuyasha assumed the only reason she hadn't shrugged him off already was because of her shock.

Her eyes were full of tears, and after a second, her knees gave out from beneath her. She collapsed, cradling Rin in her arms. 'Why? Why does everybody I care about die?' she thought to herself, looking down at the little girl. She felt a hand on her shoulder, and slowly looked up to see Sesshoumaru's usually cold face in a sad expression. 'Can you do anything?' she thought, wishing she could talk. Sesshoumaru shook his head, almost as if he had read her mind, and said aloud, "Tensaiga will not save her this time…I cannot control the sword…it chooses who it will save on its own accord," a hint of sadness in his voice. Sango looked up at him one last time, her eyes full of pain, yet they were understanding. Sesshoumaru realized that she knew how he felt, and lowered himself down to look over the two girls he had come to care so much about. "Who did this to her?" Sesshoumaru asked Sango in a soft voice. Sango looked up at him, fear coming across her beautiful face. She then turned her face back down towards the little girl.

'Shippou did this…it was all Shippou's fault!' Sango yelled mentally. She was now sobbing, and was too distraught to notice three more people come into the clearing. Kouga was glaring at Kagura as if to say 'I thought I killed you, bitch!'

"This is not the time," Kagura told him, looking down at Sango.

"Oh my Kami…Inuyasha, what happened?" Kagome whispered.

"We came here…and Sango was carrying that girl," Inuyasha explained, sadness on his features.

"This is terrible," Miroku muttered, praying for the little girl's soul.

"I could not imagine how much it would hurt to lose Shippou like that," Kagome said. Sango snapped her head towards Kagome, rage and anger in her eyes. "Sango-chan?" Kagome asked, looking at the girl in fear.

'That fucking bastard will pay!' Sango thought furiously.

"Why can't you two talk?" Inuyasha asked them, curious by Sango and Kouga's silence. "Usually, that stupid skinny wolf doesn't ever shut up," he commented dryly.

"A silencing spell…" Kagura muttered.

"Is there any way to reverse it?" Kagome asked.

"No…only the one who put the spell on them can reverse it," Kagura replied.

"Who...?" Inuyasha asked.

"Who?" Kagome repeated quietly.

'Kami, they sound like a fucking group of owls," Kouga thought bitterly.

A/N: YAY! I FINALLY MADE A NEW CHAPTER! Sorry it took so long…but my computer was being all homosexual…I was somewhat busy with school, and I just couldn't think of anything to write! *Runs into a corner, then realizes it's a round room* Damnit! Well anywho! I hope you guys like the chapter! I'll update as soon as I can come up with something for the next chapter! I promise!
