A/N: Another chapter, finally! I know it's really really short…but I am so running out of ideas! But this kinda gives me an idea of where I might go! So yay! ^_^. Yeah…since I have nothing else to say right now, on with the disclaimer, then the chapter!

Disclaimer: Simple as this: I never have, and never will own Inuyasha and Co…thought I wish for it! *sigh* but yus! That's just wistful thinking!

Chapter 12: Ultimatum

"Hey guys!" Shippou said nervously. "What happened?"

'Why don't you tell them, you little bastard!' Sango mentally screamed. 'Man, I wish Sesshoumaru could read minds right about now…' she sighed, then glared at the kitsune pup.

'Why can't fucking Dog-breath smell that stupid brat's scent all over us?!' Kouga mentally yelled in outrage. 'Even I can smell it!' he thought bitterly. 'Or Sesshoumaru, the Almighty Great Lord of the Western Lands?' he added as an afterthought. Kouga tried to use some sort of sign language to communicate with the others, but was failing miserably.

"Look at that stupid wolf!" Inuyasha snorted, pointing at Kouga, who was jumping up and down and flailing his arms everywhere.

"This is not the time, Inuyasha," Sesshoumaru bit out bitterly. "As much as you may dislike him, he seems to have something to say." Both Sango and Kouga turned to Sesshoumaru, their eyes brightening up.

'Thank the Gods that not all of them are complete fucking morons!' Kouga said. Soon, both Sango and Kouga were trying to point out the culprit, but it was like playing a really crappy game of charades. Sango sighed, and noticed Shippou edging away.

'Oh no you don't,' Sango thought, racing after the pup, and picking him up. Soon Kouga joined her, and they were trying to signal that Shippou was the one who did all of this.

"What's wrong with them? Are they okay? Kagome…they're starting to scare me!" Shippou whined, giving her his best 'puppy-dog look'.

"You guys…what is with you two?" Kagome asked, slightly concerned with her friends' mental health.

'Oh my Kami…' Sango thought, bowing her head in defeat. She then looked up to see Sesshoumaru walking away with the dead body of Rin in his arms. Sango dropped the kitsune on his rear, and ran after the taiyoukai. 'Oh, Sesshoumaru! I'm so sorry!' she thought, tears coming to her eyes again. Soon, he stopped in a clearing full of flowers, and turned to Sango. She saw the pain in his eyes, and understood what he wanted to do. 'I wish there was a way to save her! I wanted to learn so much about her!' Sango thought, tears trickling down her face. 'Will this make Sesshoumaru-sama close his heart again?' she wondered. 'No, I mustn't worry about that,' she thought. After looking at each other for a minute, silently trying to come to an agreement, a being appeared. 'No! Not now!' Sango thought frantically. 'Not one of Kikyou's soul stealers! It's come to take Rin's soul!' The soul snatcher stopped in front of Sango, and looked her in the eye, before transforming into one thing that neither Sango nor Sesshoumaru expected.

"Who the fuck did this? They will pay!" Inuyasha yelled, glaring at nobody in particular.

"You don't have to yell so loud, some of us have sensitive hearing, you know?" Kagura said, stepping into Inuyasha's line of view.

"Nobody asked you, bitch! I don't care what Sango says! You are a detachment of Naraku, and you tried to kill us too many times to count!" the hanyou snapped at her.

"You mean too many times to count on your fingers? In that case, why don't you start using your toes too?" Kagura asked with a smirk.

"You fucking bitch," Inuyasha growled at her.

"No…you are mistaken, I am not an inu-youkai, therefore, I am not a bitch," she smirked again. Inuyasha, running out of insults just growled at her, causing her to laugh. As Inuyasha glared at the wind-youkai, she soon felt a painful grip around her heart. Soon the pain grew immensely, and she slumped over, clutching her chest. "Damn…*gasp* you…*gasp* Naraku!" she muttered, falling to the ground.

"What the in the seven hells?!" Inuyasha asked, looking around frantically. "Chikuso! KAGOME!" he yelled to the only person he could think of, not sure if she could help the poor woman in front of him or not.

"Inuyasha, what's wrong?" Kagome panted slightly from running to him. He pointed at the woman on the ground in front of them. Kagura opened her mouth to speak, but only let out a blood-curdling scream.

"Good…soon, she will come to me, begging me to end her pain and suffering!" Naraku chuckled. "Kagura, my pet…you have two choices…come back and serve me faithfully, or watch your friends suffer and slowly die…all because of you. Of course…the third option is to kill yourself…but would you do that? Could you do it?" he asked, smirking. Suddenly, Naraku got an idea, and muttered a spell of some sort.

~*~*~*~In Kagura's Mind~*~*~*~

"Kagura, my pet, I know you can hear me," a voice whispered in her mind. She looked up and noticed she was back in Sesshoumaru's castle.

"What's going on?" she demanded.

"Kagura…I am giving you two choices…you either come back to me, and serve me faithfully…or your friends die…what will it be Kagura?" the voice asked, cold and emotionless.

"I…I…" Kagura noticed Sesshoumaru holding Sango in his arms. As she stepped closer, she saw the taiyoukai crying, and when she looked at Sango, she noticed the woman was dead, with her brother's scythe-like weapon protruding through her chest. Then, as the image faded, she noticed Kohaku, holding his head in pain, and screaming. She understood what it was…and knew the poor boy was going insane from his past. Next, she saw Inuyasha, killing Sesshoumaru, but Sesshoumaru didn't seem to care…the look in his eyes showed that he no longer cared about life. The last image did not make sense to Kagura, but it was disturbing all the same. She saw herself sitting with the houshi, and then she whispered something in his ear, he nodded slightly, then kissed her. As she watched, she saw him take off the rosary beads from his wrist, drawing her in, and then he soon followed her. Kagura screamed in frustration and emotional pain. "MAKE IT STOP! Please…make it stop! I don't…no!" she cried, hugging her arms around herself, and trying to block out the images.

"This is an ultimatum, Kagura…what is your choice?" Naraku asked her. "And don't even think about killing yourself…it won't help anything. They will all die, immediately then!" he whispered in a harsh voice.

"I'll…I'll…go with you, to protect them from this," she whispered, and hung her head in defeat.

"Good girl. Now you will come to me," he said as he disappeared.

~*~*~*~Reality~*~*~*~

Kagura opened her eyes to find that her head was laying in somebody's lap. "Is Kagura-oneesan going to be okay, Sango-oneesan?" a voice asked. 'I know that voice…' Kagura thought, then her eyes snapped open is surprise. For a moment, she totally forgot about the ultimatum from Naraku.
