InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Emotions ❯ Uninvited ( Chapter 12 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

A/N <Important!!!>: Okay, this chapter will be different. I have decided to go on one of my reviewers suggestions for pairings, so this is where it's all gonna start. I'm gonna jump ahead about three months, and have occasional flashbacks to better explain what happened in the last chapter. As for the Sango x Sesshy thing, I'm just gonna say it's going slow for them. So I hope you guys don't get confused reading this…and I really hope I don't get confused writing it. Oh! I almost forgot! Part of this is inspired by my experiences over like the last week. ^_^ One last thing, I don't know how Japanese schools work, if they're more like the European or not, but to make this work, they're gonna be like the American school system. Damn, I keep forgetting important little facts! *sigh* also, to clear some things up, none of the flashbacks are in anybody's point of view, they're just flashbacks of what actually happened. I think that's all…I hope! Sorry!

Chapter 13: Uninvited

Kagome had gone back to her time for awhile, and Miroku was patiently waiting by the well for her. Inuyasha had done it again. Even though he told her he loved her, he hurt her again. At least this time it wasn't Kikyou that they had argued over…but Inuyasha was being such an ass. Maybe he was 'PMS-ing' like Kagome had suggested. Even though they had spent three years together traveling, Miroku was constantly being amazed by Kagome. She had also mentioned to him before she left something about a 'Gra-joo-ashun' or something like that. He sighed, and thought back to what happened, not for the first time.

~*~*~*~Flashback~*~*~*~

"Inuyasha, I have to go home! I finally made it through high school, and I'm finally graduating! I even made honors! I somehow managed to get all As in high school, and I have to be there for my graduation!" she said, a gleam in her eyes. She went to kiss Inuyasha, but he backed away from her, glaring at her.

"Feh, you always leave at the most inconvenient times, bitch," he bit out. Kagome looked shocked, and took a step back from him.

"Inuyasha…what are you--" but she was cut off.

"You're leaving me here with my stupid half-brother, that wind bitch, Miroku, and Kouga and Sango, who can't even fucking talk! You always do! I'm sick of you leaving, you selfish little--" this time Kagome cut him off.

"I HAVE TO DO THIS!" she screamed at him, tears coming to her eyes. He looked at her, slightly surprised, but recovered quickly. "Inuyasha…I don't understand…" she whispered, "I have decided that I would finish school, and then I would stay here, with you…only go back every so often to see my family…" she continued.

"I don't fucking want you to leave! You're going to stay here forever, damnit!" Inuyasha yelled at her. Miroku happened to hear the fight, and made his way to the hut.

"Inuyasha…I've given up everything for you! Why can't you at least give me this?" she asked, tears falling down to the ground. Inuyasha glared at her, and turned his back to her, walking out of the hut. As soon as he was out the door, he noticed Miroku.

"What the fuck do you want, you stupid hentai?" he asked, his tone threatening.

"Inuyasha, I do not understand why you must be so harsh," Miroku stated calmly. "She loves you very much, you know," he added.

"I don't give a fuck. She's to clingy, and she needs to grow up," he ranted. Miroku glared at him, and hit him over the head with his staff.

"What I wouldn't give to have the love of a girl like Kagome," Miroku muttered under his breath. Over the last three months, he finally accepted the fact that Sango was no longer an option, and even though nothing was really going on between her and Sesshoumaru, the taiyoukai did not like Miroku…well, being Miroku around her. So Miroku had befriended Kagura, but she was so depressing anymore, that he just decided to leave her alone for the most part. He felt bad about it though, because only Sango seemed to spend any time with the wind youkai, and Sango couldn't even talk. So, as a result, Miroku had spent a lot of time with Kouga, who was annoying even without his voice, and Kagome. After time, he realized how lucky Inuyasha was, and became jealous. He wasn't sure if it was just the fact that Inuyasha had found true love, or if it was because Inuyasha had found the love from Kagome. Either way, he was jealous, but did not admit it to anybody.

"Feh, whatever," was Inuyasha's annoying response as he bound away into a clearing. Miroku watched for a second before going into the hut and seeing Kagome on the floor, her beautiful face covered by her hands. He saw her shoulders tremble with her suppressed sobs, and he decided he couldn't take it any more.

"Kagome-sama," he called softly. Kagome looked up, and when she registered who it was, she smiled softly at the houshi. She stood up, and threw herself into his open arms.

"Oh Miroku, I can't believe him," she whispered into his shoulder. Miroku took note that this was the first time Kagome had called him Miroku and left out the 'sama' part. He tightened his hold on her, and whispered reassurances in her ear.

"Kagome, he is a baka, you don't need to listen to him," he said softly. She gripped his robes tighter, and he felt a wet spot on his shoulder where her face was. "Please don't cry," he whispered, rubbing her back in a soothing way.

"I can't help it," she whispered in a choked voice. After awhile, she pulled back from Miroku, and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Thank you," she whispered.

"Kagome…" he said, but she put her finger to his lips to silence him.

"I'm going home for my graduation…I'll be back in a week at the most. Wait for me?" she asked him. He nodded, and watched her exit the hut.

"Always," he whispered before following her to make sure she got the well safely.

~*~*~*~End Flashback~*~*~*~

Miroku was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of Kagome coming through the well. When she reached the top, she almost fell back into the well in shock. "Oh, Miroku! I wasn't expecting to see you here," she said quietly, then accepted his hand that was offered to pull her out of the well. Miroku smiled at her, but suddenly frowned when he noticed she was crying. He reached his hand out, and brushed the tears from her cheek.

"Are you okay, Kagome?" he asked her.

"I'm fine, I'm just so happy, and sad about leaving high school and all," she whispered. "That was the last time I'll ever get to see some of my friends," she added dejectedly.

"Kagome," Miroku whispered in her ear. He felt so sorry for her. She was throwing everything away just to be with them.

"I'm so scared, what if I can never go back once the shard is complete, or worse…what if I am taken away from this time, and I'll never get to see you again?" she asked him. Miroku tensed slightly. Why was she thinking about this now? The next thing she said caused him to tremble slightly. "What if we can't defeat Naraku at all? And he completes the jewel…what will happen to us? I don't want you to die!" she said, holding him tighter to her. Miroku was absolutely speechless. He did not know that Kagome cared for him much at all, and this was shattering his heart. Kagome looked into his face, and gasped when she saw tears running down his face. "M-Miroku?" she stuttered slightly. He nodded, and buried his face into her shoulder. She was shocked, but she did not push him away. They were silent, but they still did not notice Sango walking up to them, an odd and faraway look in her eyes.

Sango was so lost in her thoughts, she didn't even notice Miroku and Kagome as she walked past them. 'I…I can't believe that…I…' she thought, trying to fight the tears.

~*~*~*~Flashback~*~*~*~

"I do not care for any human. They are disgusting, and they reek. Such low and incompetent creatures," Sesshoumaru snarled at the youkai before him. He had been cornered by this demon who was seeking Shikon shards.

"Then why do you travel with so many, oh great Sesshoumaru-sama?" the lower youkai asked, voice dripping with sarcasm. Sesshoumaru chose not to answer. His head fell as soon as he could sense her…Sango was watching the fight. She was going to take action…but his words made her stop where she was. Sesshoumaru knew that those words were not true, he had come to care for Rin, and Sango…well, he wasn't ever sure about Sango, but he had become attracted to her.

"Sango, get out of here," Sesshoumaru growled out. He realized that it was a mistake as soon as he had said that. He realized the other demon had let him go and was now after the woman. He looked up, and he realized that she was fighting the youkai with so much strength, but most of it was powered by anger. After she killed the lower youkai, she looked up at Sesshoumaru, begging him to tell her that his words were not true.

After a long pause, she turned away, realizing that what she felt for the taiyoukai was not returned, but was stopped by a hand grabbing hers. She turned to see Sesshoumaru looking down at her. "I was wrong," he told her softly, even though he still had his stoic mask on. She looked up into his honey golden eyes, and noticed all of the emotions that played within them.

'Your eyes betray you,' she thought as she closed her eyes. Her eyes snapped open when she felt herself being pulled forward and falling slightly into something. She noticed that she was leaning into the taiyoukai's chest, and his arm was around her waist.

"Forgive me," he whispered into her ear, causing her to blush, and nod dumbly.

'How could I not?' she questioned in her mind.

A/N: *sigh* sorry this chapter didn't turn out how I wanted it to! GRAR! I promise the next chapter will explain even more of what happened! But seriously…I got stuck with that last flashback…*sigh*. I want to write a IY/YYH crossover, but I refuse…this story is too important! And then I had to go and get addicted to the Miroku/Kagome pairings…ah well! I can use that in this story! ^_^ I won't promise the next chapter will be longer, but it will definitely explain more! I PROMISE *breaks down and cries* I HATE YOU CAEL!

Cael: No you don't

Mandi: SHUT UP! I DO! *sobs* But anyways! Don't hate me! I'll make it up to y'all!!!

LOVE AND PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A/N: (Yes, another one…SHUT UP!) OH! I almost forgot…the title obviously has nothing to do with this chapter, but I wasn't feeling very creative…
