InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Emotions ❯ So Beautiful ( Chapter 17 )
AN: Hiya! I have been informed that the dream sequence has been used a few too many times…and I have discovered that they were right! Grar. I've read a couple like that…but dream sequences similar to the one in my last chapter are being used so damn much! *Pouts* Ah well…it still works with the story.
Disclaimer: X is pretty! ^_^
Chapter 18: So Beautiful
"Sango-sama?" a voice asked her. She slowly opened her eyes to see a man with dark hair that was tied back in a ponytail, and purple eyes leaning over her. With a shriek, she slapped the man, and tried scooting away from him…only to find that she was laying in somebody's lap.
"Sango?! Can you talk?" Kagome asked, turning away from Kouga.
"Sa…Sango?" she asked, looking between all the strange faces.
"You can talk!" Kagome cried out, jumping up and rushing towards her friend. There was a moan from where Kagome just left, and they all looked over to see Kouga look around in a dazed state.
"Where am I?" he asked.
"Kouga?" Rin whispered, looking down at the wolf youkai.
"Kouga…is that…my name?" he asked the little girl.
"You…you don't remember?" Rin asked, her bottom lip trembling, and tears welling up in her eyes.
"Ugh…no…" Kouga replied, closing his eyes again. At Kouga's words, Sesshoumaru could feel his heart sinking. He looked down at Sango, and noticed the lost look on her face.
"I need to talk to Sango, alone," Sesshoumaru stated, standing up quickly, and taking off into the forest with the woman still in his arms.
"Wait…what…?"
~*~
"Sango?" Sesshoumaru asked, looking into her eyes, trying to read her soul.
"Please forgive me for asking…but I feel as though I should know you…but I don't…" she trailed off, a light blush on her cheeks.
"My name is Sesshoumaru. I am an inu youkai, the Taiyoukai of the Western Lands," Sesshoumaru said softly, his tone lacking any arrogance it usually contained.
"Sesshoumaru…" Sango said, letting his name roll out smoothly. "What was going on between us…before…?" she asked quietly, her blush gradually growing darker.
"Before…we were friends. But I must tell you Sango, I wish we could be more," Sesshoumaru said, looking the woman in the eyes.
"What do you…"
"I mean that I should have told you this a long time ago, Sango. I love you," and with that, he bent down and gently kissed her. She couldn't help but gasp, but before Sesshoumaru got the chance to deepen the kiss, she pulled away.
"I'm so sorry…but I can't…I can't remember anything…and I can't return your feelings…since I don't even know what mine are anymore," she said softly, her eyes glossy with unshed tears.
"I understand," Sesshoumaru said, turning his back to her so as to hide the emotions that played through his eyes. His heart hurt. "We should go back to the others then," he said in his usual icy tone.
"Oh please! I'm so sorry! I'm just so confused, and please bear with me!" Sango cried out, falling to her knees, and letting a lone tear to trickle down her cheek. Sesshoumaru turned back to her, and his heart shattered.
'Did I really just make her cry?' he asked himself, and mentally punched himself for it. His eyes softened, and he offered her a small smile. "Anything for you, Sango," he said. With that, he led her back to the camp, hand in hand.

"Kagura?" Inuyasha asked, his voice shaking slightly.
"Please…make it stop! Make the pain stop!" she cried out, clutching her chest.
'It will stop, if you just kill him!' the voice in her head sounded.
"No! I won't!" she cried out. Inuyasha rushed over to her side, and pulled her into his embrace. "You fool," she sobbed. "Please, just leave…I don't want to kill you," she choked out.
"No, I won't leave you," Inuyasha said softly. "I let two women that I loved slip through my fingers, and I'm not letting you get away," he whispered.
"Inuyasha…please…I don't want to hurt you," she whispered.
"And I won't let him hurt you anymore," Inuyasha stated.
'Kill the hanyou. If you want the pain to stop, just kill him! You don't need him!' the malicious voice said.
"NO!" the wind youkai cried out.
Kikyou heard the cry, and started towards the hut where Kagura stayed. She pulled back the flap, and gasped at the sight. Inuyasha was holding Kagura and whispering reassurances in her ear, and Kagura looked to be in great pain.
'Damnit, this ends now!' Kikyou thought, spinning around to look for Naraku.
"Kikyou, my pet…" an all too familiar voice said, causing her to spin around.
"Shippou! What the hell do you want?" she asked through gritted teeth.
"I want Naraku dead. He is becoming a pain in my ass," the kitsune stated smugly.
"What happens after you kill Naraku?" Kikyou demanded.
"Well…you will be mine…and I will kill the rest of them," he replied.
"No. You will not harm any of them," Kikyou ground out.
"For a clay doll such as yourself, who holds so much hate, it amazes me that you are acting this way," he said, cocking an eyebrow.
"I hold hatred for you and Naraku, nobody else," she spat out at him.
"What about Inuyasha?"
"I did hate him at first…but I have moved past that. Kagome's soul has helped me to move past that," she stated, her eyes blazing.
"Ah, so you did show," a voice said from the shadows. Kikyou and Shippou turned and watched as Naraku stepped out into the light.
"Naraku! Finally! Now we can settle this once and for all!" Shippou exclaimed, a smug grin on his handsome face.
"First…I will have Kagura kill that damned hanyou," Naraku stated coolly. Before another word could be uttered, a purifying arrow hit Naraku in the arm.
"Ki…Kikyou?" he asked, looking at her with a stunned expression.
"Damnit! Stay out of this, bitch!" Shippou snarled at the miko.
"No! I won't allow this to happen!" Kikyou cried out, sending another arrow at Naraku, but this time he dodged. Naraku growled at the woman, and started towards her, but was knocked back by another.
"Leaver her alone, she's mine!" Shippou snarled. Naraku stood up again, and glared at the kitsune.
"If you weren't such a nuisance, I would ask you to join me," Naraku said, whilst transforming into his true form.
"As if I would ever join a pathetic excuse for a hanyou, such as yourself!" Shippou declared.
"Your choice," was the last thing Naraku said. Shippou charged at the still transforming Naraku, but somehow Naraku evaded every one of his attacks. They traded blows for approximately three minutes before Shippou hit Naraku under the chin, sending the evil hanyou backwards. The kitsune grinned, and advanced towards Naraku, ready to make the final blow, but was stopped when he saw an arrow zoom past him, and plant itself firmly in Naraku's heart. Naraku slowly started to disintegrate, and Shippou watched for a moment in awe.
"Kikyou…" the kitsune growled, his back still facing her. He didn't get to say another word, because an arrow went through his back…

"Hey, Kagome," Miroku said, looking at his lover.
"Yes, Miroku?" Kagome asked, looking into his violet eyes.
"Do you think that Sango and Kouga will be okay?" he asked her. Right as he finished his question, Sesshoumaru and Sango walked back into the clearing. Kouga was asleep again, his head cradled in Rin's lap. Miroku and Kagome both stood up quickly, and started towards Sango.
"Sango-sama," Miroku started, but stopped, and gasped, as if in pain.
"Miroku!" Kagome cried, turning to look at her monk. He doubled over, and clutched his hand to his heart.
"What's…happening…" Miroku asked through gritted teeth. Nobody could move…they all just watched in wonder. Then, as quickly as it started, it was over.
"What happened, houshi?" Sango asked, causing Miroku and Kagome to both look up quickly.
"I don't know…" Miroku stated, looking down at his hand. "Everybody…stand back," he said softly.
"Miroku?" Kagome asked softly. He looked at her and smiled.
"Please, Kagome." She nodded, and stepped back a little bit. Miroku slowly unwrapped his cursed hand, and gasped in surprise.
"Oh Gods…he's dead!" Kagome cried out, and wrapped her arms around Miroku's neck.

"Inuyasha?" Kagura asked, uncertainly.
"I'm here," he said softly.
"Inuyasha…he's dead…" Kagura whispered, looking into the hanyou's eyes. The hanyou stared at her for a moment before what she said registered in his mind.
"Dead?" he repeated softly, his eyes brightening. The woman smiled happily at him.
"Dead," she replied. He stood up, taking her with him, and brought her into a fierce hug. After he spun her around a couple of times, they shared a tender kiss. Finally, Inuyasha sat down, his back against the wall, with Kagura in his lap.
"What do we do now?" he asked her, his hands going through her silky hair that was now down.
"I have no clue," Kagura replied, leaning her head back to rest on his shoulder. "I think we should get back to the others first," she said thoughtfully.
"Good idea," was the reply…although not from Inuyasha.

AN: WOOT! Another chapter up!!! I FINALLY GAVE SANGO AND KOUGA THEIR VOICES BACK!!! AND SESSHY FINALLY TOLD SANGO HOW HE FEELS!!! Go me! Okey…anywho…to answer some questions that have come up in the past…or that might come up in the future…I suck at action scenes…and fighting. Also…if Sango and Kouga are waaaay OOC, well, guess what, they don't remember anything, so of course they are! Also, I know Inuyasha and Kagura are OOC, but too fucking bad. My story, live with it. And with Kouga and Rin…let's say that's just one of those childhood crushes. Also…I was once asked if Shippou is being possessed or anything, and I've thought about it for awhile…and no, he definitely is not. He is just an evil asshole.
On a different note…that was a lot of fluff…holy crap…I just hope nobody like choked to death or anything! And hey, there was that character death I promised like three chapters ago! Like I said, it was somebody that probably nobody cares whether he dies or not…but oh well!
Well, please R&R!!! I LOVE Y'ALL!!!
