InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Emotions ❯ Topsy Turvy ( Chapter 20 )
AN: Wow!!! At some point I got over 100 reviews...and didn't even realize it! AWESOME! Anyways...this is gonna be a short chapter...since I'm sorta stumped. And then there's finals coming up...and work...and blah blah blah! And I'm just not really interested in this story anymore. I'm about as interested in it as I am interested in Inuyasha all together anymore. Ah well...it's not like I can actually write a good Gravitation fic or anything...so I'll suffer! =D
Disclaimer: Sesshoumaru and Naraku are too damn pretty (especially with their haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaair...). I'm jealous. And why can't they make the boys in real life as hot as Miroku? I'd take one of him any day...*drool* But...maybe if he wore glasses? Would he look as hot as Shigure? *ponders* Wait...why the hell are you reading this? GET TO READING THE FIC! (just kidding!)
Chapter 21: Topsy Turvy
"Sesshooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooumaru-sama!!!" Jakken squawked, trying to catch up to the fast moving herd.
"Hey...I have an idea...how about we kill Jakken?" Kagome muttered, earning a smirk from Miroku. Inuyasha almost burst out laughing at the look that crossed over the little toad's face at Kagome's comment.
"You stupid insolent wench!" Jakken cried out, aiming his Staff of Heads towards Kagome.
"Jakken," Sesshoumaru commanded, glaring down at the little toad. He had to admit though...everybody in this herd was starting to grate on his nerves...and that was fairly hard to do. Hell, even Sango and Rin were starting to irritate him. "I am going hunting, and I am taking Jakken with me. Go on without us, we will be back by tomorrow morning at the latest," he said, leaving before anybody could protest. Jakken followed happily behind his master.
"Why did he leave?" Kagome pondered. Her gaze drifted over to Sango, who had a saddened and hurt expression on her face. 'Did they maybe have a fight ?' she pondered silently.

"Jakken, you may do whatever you wish, I am going to look for something," Sesshoumaru informed his servant. Jakken nodded, and headed off in a completely different direction, a slight bounce in his step that Sesshoumaru had never seen before. 'I think we both needed to get away from that...herd,' Sesshoumaru thought silently. He walked for awhile, no real destination on his mind. He really had no intention of going back to the group anymore...he was never one to travel with a 'pack', he had always been a loner, even when his parents were alive. Besides, Rin had a family now...and even if Sango would miss him, she would still have Kouga. For awhile, he had thought he was in love with the woman...yet...he couldn't help but feel rather sorrowed when he heard of his death. It took him awhile to figure it out, but he realized...he had been attracted to the him. Hell, he probably wasn't that evil...just misunderstood. Like Kikyou had been. 'Sango was just my way of denying it all,' he thought tiredly.
After a good hour, Sesshoumaru realized that he was getting close to his castle, and sighed again. Maybe, he should just leave the Western Lands to his brother...but...the only way to do that would be for him to die, in which he had no intentions of doing. He sighed again, taking note that he had been doing that a lot more lately, and headed southeast, unintentionally to the place of where he was last seen alive.
Sesshoumaru was completely lost in thought, and didn't even notice when he stepped into the confines of the base. He looked around, and sighed silently. Why had he come here? He was trying to get him off his mind...and he came to the his old hideout. He turned as soon as he heard some rustling noises, and his eyes widened at the sight before him.

"Sango-chan?" Kagome called out attentively.
"Yes, Kagome-chan?" Sango asked, not really looking the other girl in the eyes.
"I was wondering if you knew why Sesshoumaru-sama left so suddenly," Kagome asked, her eyes showing her worry.
"Isn't it obvious?" Inuyasha asked in a gruff voice, causing both girls to look in his direction. Kagura lowered her head and looked away from Sango. It had been painfully obvious how Sesshoumaru felt...and not even the woman who 'loved' him so desperately realized. It was true Sango was her best friend now...but so was Sesshoumaru (even if he would never admit it)...and he needed somebody else.
"What do you mean?" the two girls asked simultaneously.
"He was tired of being moved around, like a herd of cattle. He's always been a loner, for as long as I can remember. It's not that he hates me...it's that he doesn't know how to put up with other people," Inuyasha stated.
"Not only that...the company that he needs...I don't think we can provide," Kagura said quietly, flinching when she heard Sango's pained gasp.
"Does that mean..." Kagome started, but was cut off by Kagura.
"Yes. I'm sorry to say it...but it's true..." Kagura replied. She turned, and walked off, towards where the taiyoukai had gone. "I need to talk to him...alone. I'll be back sooner or later," Kagura said, and then was gone.
"So he left me?" Sango asked, tears coming to her eyes. "First I lose my family and friends...then my brother...then I find out Shippou is an evil bastard...then the man I fall in love with realizes he doesn't love me...how fucked up is my life?" Sango whispered, letting the tears fall. Both Inuyasha and Kagome rushed to her side, trying to calm the girl down, but to no avail.

Kagura had flown to where she sensed Sesshoumaru, and landed, taking note of her surroundings. 'Why would Sesshoumaru be here?' she wondered idly. She stepped inside the ruins, and stopped dead in her tracks when she heard the low rumble of two male voices. She attentively stepped closer, and peered around a corner, to gasp silently in shock.
'It can't be...' her thoughts turning wild.

"What are you doing here?"
"I do not know."
"The great Taiyoukai of the Western Lands can only answer my simple question with an 'I do not know'?"
"If I knew the answer, I would be happy to tell you, I assure you."
"Perhaps...perhaps you do know...but refuse to admit, even to yourself, why you came here."
"This Sesshoumaru has no reason to hide anything."
"Ah...but you lie. You have hidden your past so well...you even convinced yourself that what really happened didn't happen, and that something else entirely happened."
"You're wrong."
"You killed your father. Your mother died at his hand, so you returned the favor...isn't that correct?"
"N-no..."
"That is proof enough...it is correct. Then...you banished the human, and she takes your precious brother with her...the only real family you had left...the only person who ever looked up to you and needed you."
"..."
"You never hated Inuyasha...but his stupid wench of a human mother had fed him with so many lies, that he came to hate you, so you played along. You also decided if it was okay for her to change the truth, you could too. You convinced yourself that she killed your father. That your mother died giving birth to you...that you never knew your mother at all. Why? Your mother..."
"Stop."
"Why?"
"I..."
"You?"
"Please..." Sesshoumaru dropped to his knees before the other figure, and hunched over. "You're right...it's all true...but how did you know?"
"Because...I was there...I saw it all..."
"How?"
"I may be able to explain later," he kneeled down next to Sesshoumaru, and softly pushed the silver bangs out of the taiyoukai's face.
"Will you admit to it all now?"
"Hai...Naraku...san..."

AN: OOOO! That was a twist, huh? =D Anyways...this gives me something good to work off of. *sigh* now I'm going to have to put up a yaoi warning in my description...ah well! I like yaoi. YAY GRAVITATION! Anyways...next chapter...I will reveal all of Sesshoumaru's past (according to me, of course!) and also explain why Naraku is here...maybe. Oh...and sorry for the 'Hai...Naraku...san..." part...and it being all...Kohaku-ish (but not, cuz he says 'sama'), but it just fit in there rather nicely, wouldn't you say? I hope nobody gets pissed off at me for making Sesshoumaru gay (or maybe just bi)...but I need something to write...and the whole Sango/Sesshoumaru thing was starting to piss me off. Sorry. Well, do ya like it? Hate it? Feedback is always appreciated!
LOVE Y'ALL!
