Late that night, youkai came looking around the window. Seeing that Inuyasha was not in the room to protect the bait, Kagome, they snuck in the room. Carefully, so as not to wake her, they bound Kagome's hands and feet and then drugged her so she would stay asleep.

Out in the lobby, Inuyasha felt that something was not right. He shrugged this feeling off, reasoning that it was just because he and Kagome had a fight. The youkai, and his flunkies, took Kagome to their hideout. A note threatening Kagome's life was left in her place for Inuyasha to find.

When Kagome awoke, she was terrified. She was in a cave, and her hands and feet were bound. She yelled for help. Inuyasha's boss came to her and told her that with any luck, Inuyasha would be here to try and rescue her soon. With that, he put a gag on her and left. Kagome wondered who this man was and why he was so certain that Inuyasha would be here to rescue her.

Inuyasha awoke that next morning and went back to the room to get dressed and most importantly to see if Kagome was still mad at him. What he found was a note lying on the bed instead of Kagome. The note said:

Inuyasha-

I know that you are a youkai. I also know what your plans are. If you ever want to see your girl Kagome again, I suggest that you come to the enclosed address ASAP.

The note was not signed. Inuyasha was almost beside himself with anger. "How dare they kidnap Kagome!", He thought as he searched for the Tetsiega. "What has she done? And what "plans" are they talking about? What's this about Kagome being `my girl'?" Inuyasha rushed down the stairs and ran to the address written on the paper. When he got there, some one was waiting there for him. Actually, several some ones were waiting there for him. Inuyasha demanded to be taken to where Kagome is. They chuckled at his demand before one of them flipped a switch. A fog filled the room and everything went black for Inuyasha.

When he came to, he was tied up and surrounded. "Hey, let me go!!" he bellowed. When that didn't get him anywhere, Inuyasha tried growling and snarling at his captors. The crowd parted and his new boss stepped towards him. He knelt down to Inuyasha's level and said in a menacing voice, "Hello, how very nice of you to come." Inuyasha started yelling at him but was cut short when Kagome was brought in, kicking and screaming. When she saw Inuyasha, she started to relax but quickly began struggling again as soon as she realized that he was not in control of the situation. Inuyasha began his snarling and hollering again. "Now, everyone just relax." the boss bellowed, "You would probably like to know what is going on." Inuyasha started to say something but stopped with a yelp when someone kicked him hard in the ribs. Inuyasha's boss continued, "I've been watching you for several weeks now. Ever since I smelled a new youkai in the area. Having you work for me made it even easier to keep an eye on you. Didn't you wonder why I gave you such a high wage for the job?" Inuyasha had a look of disbelief on his face and since he couldn't do much else at the moment, began to growl. Kagome, too, was shocked and tried to talk through her gag. She knew that there was something odd about Inuyasha's job. "I shouldn't have trusted Inuyasha to check it out all the way!" Kagome thought to herself, "Now look at what has happened. And who knows why they wanted us here!" Her mind was racing on to what ever horrible end result she thought of. Inuyasha felt completely helpless. His boss continued, "I don't know who sent you here, if anyone, and I really don't care. You will not be allowed to upset my business contacts. I have a very formidable gambling business. With lots of allies. Who are you to think that you could upset all of that?" Kagome was really confused now. Was Inuyasha really trying to do what this man is saying he was? Or is this all a big misunderstanding? She hoped that she knew Inuyasha better than that. She had thought that she knew him pretty well. But still... Her thoughts were interrupted by Inuyasha yelling at the man.

"What!! I don't know anything about your gambling business!"

"Then why did you ask for a job at my club?"

"I needed a job and you were hiring. What is this? Some kind of a sick joke? You can't be serious! Talk about your paranoi..." Inuyasha started to go on but was caught short by another hard kick.

Not being satisfied with Inuyasha's answers, the man announced that he would "coax" him into telling the truth. Inuyasha protested, but couldn't do anything to stop them. Kagome couldn't think of what he could have meant by "coax". Her mind was numb from all of this, the drug that they had given her not being fully worn off yet. She didn't know what to think anymore. She just hoped that she could count on Inuyasha to get them out of this, despite their fight the night before.

Suddenly, the cavern cleared. All except for Kagome and Inuyasha and two guards. The guards watched the two of them with a disinterested look. Inuyasha saw this and was confident he could win with the guards as his opponents. He scooted closer to Kagome. He kept slowly advancing until they were pressed back to back. Kagome, taking a hint from this, shifted so that she could work on untying Inuyasha's hands. As soon as she had begun to make some actual progress, the guards took notice and roughly separated them and tightened the knots binding their limbs. "Hmm, okay, scratch that plan...," Inuyasha thought, " maybe if I can get close to Kagome again, I can bite her free from these ropes, and then..." His mind wandered into the technicalities involved in an escape plan. Again the two of them tried to move closer and again they were pulled apart. Each time the guards waited long enough for them to make some progress and build up tremendous hope before it was dashed. After a few hours of this had passed, Kagome was losing heart. She didn't think that this approach would ever work. Inuyasha would not give up easily. He kept trying to untie himself and Kagome.
