The hut they entered was a single room. but twice as large as any of the others. Eyes snapped their way to watch them, weary like they expected Inuyasha and Kagome to attack.
"Wolves in a sheeps den," Kagome said quietly.
The meal began, everyone sitting on the ground infront of two long tables. Inuyasha sat next to Kagome, eyeing her, wondering. She showed no sign of discomort at be scurtinezed so harshly by everyone. Instead, she sat calm, constantly on alert, scanning the crowd, checking to see if the doors were still unbroacaded. Everything she did, screamed experianced warrior.
Tessting her, he chucked at piece of meat at her head. Easily she leaned back, allowing the morsel to sail by her, and hit Keada. Grabbing at piece of food on her own palleter, she flung it at him. He caught it without thought, and pushed the succulent beef in his mouth, still watching her.
":Who are you?" he wondered once agian.
Finally she looked at him. " If were going to work together you better learn it. Because I can't promise not to hit you, if u dont. It's KA-GO-ME."
"I know your name, wench" He snapped irrated.
"Well then, good," she said and turned back to her food.
"Are you a warrior?"
Her eyes narrowowed in supicion, but when she anserwed he could she in thoses same eyes that she wasn't lying. "Yes."
"But you're a wench."
"Is that so?" She shrugged, unconcerned. Underestaimting her had oftened worked in her favor. "Believe as you wish."
The meal was soon over, but that began the period of socializing. Inuyasha and Kagome stood off by the main door, ready to go. In the corner next to them was a man and woman arguing quitely. Not exactly arguing, for the man was erating the subdued woman for some wrong she had apperantly commited. Contrite she stood there head bowed, silent. Which seemed to fuel the mans temper.
He raised hs hand and lashed out harsly. But it wasn't his wife he struck but another. To his horror, it was her. The one who had attacked Lady Kaeda.
"If you ever raise your hand to this or any other woman, I'll find you and slit your thoart," Kagome snarled.
"She-she's my wife," he sturred indignatly. That she'd tell him how to beheve, was paposterous!
Kagome took a step to him, so that they were inches apart. "I don't care," she hissed, taking the knife that she'd stealthily taken from dinner, and brought it to his neck. "You wont have a wife, or anything for that matter, unless you heed my warning." The sharp tip of the knife pricked into the holow of his thoart.
"Men," she wispered in disgust, as she turned, shoving the knife back into the waist band of her pants.
"Touch her I'll kill you." The growled threat caused her to spin around. There behind the man was Inuyasha. A deadly clawed hand had wrapped around the fellows throat, who had pulled out his own knife and would have lunged at her if not for Inuyasha.
"You coward. If you wanted a fight, l'm more than happy to oblige."
"l-l'-l wont fight you."
"You mean fairly?" She didn't wiat for a response. "Well no matter you didnt take my verbal warning. Prehapse a physical one will be more efficent." Slippig the knife back out of her pantes, she looked at Inuyasha, whos eyes clearly said he didn't believe her. She grabbed the mans wrist, and set the tip to his inner fore arm. Inuyasha hand moved from his neck to clamp the mans mouth shut, as Kagome craved into the mas flesh.
