Fallen Misery: Chapter 3

Pure Hatred

Jenai stepped out of the tree line and over to Inuyasha who had fallen to his knees in shock. She glanced over to the two fallen and bloody bodies. The arrows had pierced their necks, a very good and clean shot. She looked back to Inuyasha, who was now giving her a disgusted look.

"I-It was you! You demon of hell!" He shot up and grabbed her by the throat with a death grip. "How could you?! What did you have against them?!" Inuyasha snarled tightening his grip on her throat with every word.

"They were in the way. I had to get rid of them to get to you. Don't you get it?" Jenai glared at him from her position above him, his grip not affecting her.

"What do you mean? To get to me…?" In an instant he dropped her and backed up. "You mean, you were trying to kill me this whole time?" Inuyasha was astonished. The only people who craved his death were Sesshomaru and Naraku, but this vampire he barely knew. Jenai could sense not only his fear but his hatred for her too. She walked towards him as he continued to back away.

"What's wrong, Inuyasha? Never suspect that the innocent girl you just met would come to you. . .to kill you? At first, I wasn't going to but then you figured out I was a vampire so fast. " She smiled evilly when he backed into the tree that he might later be hanging from. "I know that you and your brother are a lot alike. You would eventually be after me for the same reason he is, and for that I have to get rid of you." She stopped a couple feet away from him and was directly next to the bow and arrows that belonged to Kikyo. "And now Inuyasha, prepare to come to your painful end at last." With those words she charged towards him with the bow in her hand. Jumping behind him she brought the bow over his head so the string was against his neck. She pulled him back against her and against the tree. "Inuyasha, you really are a great demon but I'm afraid I'm going to have to let you go." She whispered in his flattened ear. Jenai then pulled up on the bow but failed to see him flexed his claws to cut the string and release himself. As soon as he cut himself free he flipped her over his back and pounced on her, holding her down.

"So you thought it would be that easy just to get rid of me?" She didn't move or react to his question in any way. "Well, your gonna have to fight me and beat me to be able to kill me!" He held a clawed hand above her throat, "Goodbye, Jenai. Hope you enjoy it in hell." He slashed her throat and felt her body relax under him. He smiled and got up, happy that he defeated her so easily, but that was the problem. How come she was so easy to dispose of? His smile suddenly vanished when he heard rustling beneath him. The hanyou only had a second to look into the face of the devil's daughter when she stuck one of the miko's arrows through his stomach. Then darkness surrounded him completely, along with the eerie silence of death.
