Everyone in the room looked up as they heard footsteps. "Inu Yasha," a deep, booming voice rang out.

Inu Yasha looked up at his father, "I know, I know..."

Naraku's eyes locked onto his son, "You have been told about this fighting, have you not?"

Inu blinked, "I had no choice..."

Naraku shook his head, "There is always a choice, Inu Yasha, you're just too bull headed to look for a different path to take."

Kagome appeared behind Naraku with the boys, and Shippou spotted his grandpa, and squealed. He started bouncing around in Kagome arms and chanting nonsense syllables, chattering on to the girl in Inu Yasha's damp sweats and gesturing wildly at his grandfather.

Naraku's eyes looked over to Kagome and his grandson, "You must be Kagome." He reached out and patted Shippou on the head, "Hello, Shippou."

Inu Yasha just lay back on the couch begging for drugs or death, whichever came first, he didn't care at the moment.

Kagome nodded quietly, "Yes sir, that's me. You're Naraku, Inu Yasha's father, am I correct?" she asked as Shippou threw his arms around Kagome's neck, giggling crazily and she sat Souta down.

Naraku nodded as he turned his attention back to his son. Watching Kouga clean his wounds, a scowl crossed his face. "Stop fawning over him, Kouga," Naraku demanded.

Kouga looked up at him, "I'm not, I'm just cleaning his wounds."

Inu Yasha glared at his father through blurry vision, "Don't start...I mean it" he warned.

"Don't take that tone with me. I will say and do as I see fit," Naraku told his son.

Muuona sighed and shook her head, "Will you two stop? Kouga, you and Miroku carry the invincible one outside with me, the ambulance is here," she said as she gathered up some stuff, "Kagome, you take Inu Yasha's car with the boys in it. Naraku and Miroku can ride with you. Nazuna, Kouga and I will go with Inu Yasha in the ambulance." Nazuna looked up at her mother and stood, walking out with her as Kagome nodded and took the boys out to the car to strap them in.

Miroku and Kouga helped Inu Yasha up and out to the ambulance. "Some one, just shoot me and put me out of my misery..." Inu Yasha growled out as he was put on the stretcher and loaded in. Kouga jumped into the ambulance with Inu Yasha as Miroku ran off towards the car. Naraku was already in the car when Miroku got in the back with the kids. The ambulance pulled out as everyone was seated and they were on their way to the hospital.

Shippou reached over, tugging on Miroku's hair and babbling, pointing at Kagome as she drove carefully behind the ambulance. He bopped Souta on the head and giggled then turned back to Miroku, babbling nonsense, gesturing first at Kagome and then at his new teddy bear.

Miroku looked at the kids and sighed. "Souta, everything is going to be ok Inu is too much of a hard head…nothing will ever happen to him." He patted the boy on the shoulder.

Souta nodded and hugged his bear tighter. Naraku sat in silence looking out the window. The ambulance pulled up the hospital and everyone started filing out. Kagome leaned over the seat and unbuckled Shippou as he clambered over the seat and nestled himself onto Kagome's hip and cuddled his teddy close. She walked around and opened the door for Souta and looked up to see the paramedics rush Inu Yasha into the hospital, Kouga, Muuona, and Nazuna hot on their tail.

Inu Yasha groaned as the pain became unbearable. Kouga couldn't stand it anymore, "Give him something so he doesn't hurt!" he demanded.

Naraku and Miroku walked into the hospital to hear Kouga yelling at someone, "Damn, never heard Kouga lose it before," Miroku stated. "It must be bad."

Kagome stared into room, standing outside and looking in through the window. Shippou climbed down and went with Souta to go play with some toys set up in the waiting room. She looked over to Miroku. "You're sure he's gonna be ok?" she asked him hoarsely.

Miroku stood there, not really knowing what to say, "Honestly, Kagome, I have never seen him this bad before."

Kouga walked out of the room where Inu Yasha was. He was cursing as he approached the others, "They made me leave."

Miroku chuckled, "Wonder why?"

Shippou looked up from his toys and wandered back over to Kagome and hugged her leg. She dropped a hand down and massaged his little head a bit and looked up at Kouga, "Can they do anything?"

Kouga ran a hand over his face, "He has to get some stitches, just a few, his ribs are broken, and he has bad bruising." He sat down in a chair, "They are going to give him something for the pain and run x-rays to check for any lung damage."

Kagome nodded quietly.

A surprised voice rang out behind her, "Kagome? Kagome Higurashi?"

Kagome lifted her head to see her old friend, Sango, down at the end of the hall, wearing scrubs. The nurse ran over to her laughing, but upon seeing the grim look on her friend's face, she frowned. She looked around, "Is everything ok? Is Hojo in there?" The girl tried to see around the doctors.

Kagome looked blankly at Sango before realizing no one had told her about what had happened and that she was living here now.

Sango spotted the cling on attached to Kagome's leg and smiled, the child across the room catching her eye, "These yours too? Well you are collecting quite a litter now. How's Mayu?"

Kagome blinked a few times trying to keep up with her friend's rampant questions, "Slow down, Sango. No, they aren't mine. I'm their babysitter. Their uncle and legal guardian is in here. This is his father, Naraku, his friend Miroku, and his boyfriend, Kouga." She gestured at the three men outside the room beside her.

Sango's brows lifted a bit at the word 'boyfriend' but other than that nothing was said, "And Hojo and Mayu?"

Kagome shook her head, "Hojo and I ended a while ago, and Mayu lives with my mother." Sango nodded, "Ohhhh." She looked at the men again, "I'm sorry, I'm an old friend of Kagome's my name's Sango Yurashinki."

The men nodded.

"It's ok," Miroku said with a smile, "Kagome, you have a very pretty friend here." Kouga rolled his eyes, "Here we go..."

Naraku sat down and watched his grandchildren playing.

Sango smiled at Miroku, "Why thank you," she turned back to Kagome, "So if you are the children's babysitter, why do you have to be here?" Kagome shook her head, "It's a long story," she said and looked at Miroku, "She may be pretty, but she bites."

Miroku blinked, "My, does she really?" he leaned against the wall, "And may I ask, where does she like to bite?" He asked with a smirk.

Kouga sat there, his eye twitching trying not to hit him with his chair. "Fucking pervert..." Kouga grumbled.

Sango arched a brow and turned around facing Miroku and taking a step towards him, a seductive look on her face. "Would you like to find out?" she asked in a sultry voice.

Miroku leaned forward, "Why, yes, I would." he said in a husky voice.

With that, Kouga snapped and beat him over the head with a rolled up news paper, "YOU DAMN HORN DOG!!!"

Miroku covered his head with his arms. "OW, OW, OW...Stop it, Kouga!"

Sango snickered and took a step back, "I didn't even have to hit him."

Kagome shook her head, "I have only heard Inu Yasha talk to him over the phone before, this is the first time I've actually met him, but from what I've heard, he's a major pervert. Believe me you'll get your chance."

Just then, Muuona and Nazuna walked out of the room they were working on Inu Yasha in. Nazuna went over and sat down by her father.

Muuona smacked both Miroku and Kouga upside the head, "Will you two stop it?"

Kouga stopped and set the paper down.

Naraku spoke up, "How is the boy? Will he go home tonight?"

Kouga looked at Nazuna, "Yeah, can he go home?"

Muuona looked at them both and shook her head, "They want him to sleep here over night, so there is no sense in staying here. Kouga, you go ahead and get to work before you are late, and you too, Nazuna. Miroku, if you have to work tonight you should go ahead. He's going to be sleeping most of the time anyway. I'll send Kagome and the boys back here with some of his things."

Kouga looked tired as he stood up, "Nazuna, come on, we need to get going or we will be late... call me if anything changes, please, Muuona."

Muuona nodded and Nazuna stood up and walked out after Kouga. Kagome looked over to Muuona, who spoke to her, "I'll drive them to the house so they can pick up their bikes and then I'll come back here with Inu Yasha's car. Miroku are you working tonight?"

Miroku nodded, "Yeah, I am, but do you think it's safe to leave Inu all alone?"

Muuona frowned slightly, "I don't know… but I don't want you missing work. Kagome is a big girl and can hit the button for the guards if Sesshoumaru does drop by. Just in case though I'll call Bankotsu, Inu Yasha's oldest brother over. You think you can hold down the fort till he gets here, Kagome?"

Kagome nodded slightly.

Muuona smiled and patted her shoulder, "Thank you for your help."

Kagome gave a half smile, "It's no problem."

Sango looked over at the sadness etched on her friend's face and frowned slightly.

Muuona turned to the boys, "Ok let's go. Souta, Shippou, you stay here with Kagome, and I'll see you guys later, ok?"

Souta began to cry, "NO, Grandma, don't go! He will come back; I want to stay with you!!"

Muuona looked over at Kagome, "Go ask Kagome, and when I come back you can spend the night if she says yes. There no more room in the car for me to take you this trip."

Souta nodded, "Alright, Grandma..." he walked back over near Kagome, "Can me and Shippou stay with Grandma tonight, Kagome?" Tears were running down his face as he hugged onto his bear.

Kagome smiled slightly and crouched down to the two boys, "On one condition."

"What's that, Kagome?" Souta asked as he wiped his runny nose on his arm.

She smiled and leaned forward kissing his forehead, "You give me a hug and promise not to cry."

Souta jumped into her arms and gave her a hug, "Inu will be ok, right?"

Kagome smiled, "He better be or I'm gonna kick his butt," she said as she hugged the little boy tight, "He'll be home when you get there, ok?"

Souta nodded and left her arms to go and play with Shippou.

Kagome waved goodbye to Muuona and the others then turned and gave Kouga a hug, "He's gonna be ok. I'm sure of it."

Kouga fought back tears, "He better be...I don't know what I would do without him."

Kagome smiled warily, "Some work done?"

Kouga laughed slightly, "That might be possible," he smiled as he walked out the door, "Take care of him, Kagome, till I can get back."
