Inu Yasha cried until he fell asleep. The pain from being hurt and all the mental stress was just too much for him to take this morning.

A while later, Kagome rocked back on her heels and brushed off her hands, her eyes drifting over to where Inu Yasha still lay sleeping. It hadn't been easy, cleaning the disaster area that was his room. But she had done it. All under four hours, and with out waking him too. She stood up and went back to the kitchen, checking on the chicken she had put into the oven a while ago.

Inu Yasha rolled over and groaned, "Owwww, must not roll over anymore...." he grumbled as he opened his eyes and looked at his room. "Kags, did Kouga come in my room and clean again?" He called out.

Kagome, with a bowl in the crook of her arm and a mixing spoon in the other one, stuck her head into his room. "Nope, that was me." She beamed at him, batter from something streaked on her face and her tattered jeans she had changed into. The flannel shirt she was wearing was no better off, and looked to be something Inu Yasha had seen once before, but he could have sworn he had buried the thing in the grossest corner underneath his bed.

Inu Yasha raised a brow at her and was going to say something about her appearance when his cell rang. He looked around and found it on the nightstand by his bed he picked it up and answered. "Hello..."

Kouga laughed on the other end. "Well you sound better from yesterday."

Inu Yasha smiled, "Well, I have had about three years worth of sleep and Kagome keeps me doped up on meds."

Kouga laughed, "I will be over to check up on you tomorrow."

"Good, I miss you," Inu Yasha said with a slight blush.

"I miss you too, and if you ever do something that stupid again, I will kick your ass," Kouga said in warning.

"Yes sir..." Inu Yasha said sarcastically.

"I love you and I will see you later...bye."

Inu Yasha smiled. "Love you too, see ya later."

He turned off the phone and then hid it under his pillow, "What are you cooking, Kagome?"

Kagome looked back up from her batter mixing and flashed him a slightly less brilliant smile than before. "An old fashioned home cooked country meal." She winked, "That's all you need to know." A brighter smile blossomed across her face as she went back down the hall and started rolling the meat into her dumpling batter and put them on a cookie sheet which she stuck above the chicken. She sighed and wiped sweat from her forehead. Why had that phone conversation bothered her so much? A sigh escaped from her lips as she checked the pot of stuffing and put on the beef gravy to simmer. Walking over to the sink, she rinsed off her hands and started peeling potatoes at a rapid pace. A frown settled over her features as her thoughts wandered back to their previous musings. She wasn't jealous. She absolutely would not allow herself to be, and that was final.

Inu Yasha dragged himself out of bed slowly and walked down the hall. "Heh...smells pretty good whatever it is." He sat down at the kitchen table and lit a cigarette.

She made a face over at him, "Care to spare me one of those?" She finished peeling the potatoes and slipped them underneath the faucet, running the hot water over them, and setting them on the stove to boil.

He handed her the rest of the pack. "You can have the rest of the pack I have a carton in my room."

Kagome gave him a look worthy of Miaka when she discovers a feast on Fushigi Yuugi, "KYA!!!!!" She giggled and leapt over the floor to grab a cigarette and popped it between her lips, lighting up. She let out a relaxed sigh and sank back against the chair and a soft smile settled across her lips.

He laughed, "Haven't had a cigarette in a while, I see."

Kagome gave him a you-have-no-idea look.

He shook his head, "I will give you a couple of packs later."

She threw her arms around her neck and hugged him tightly, still being mindful and careful of his injuries.

He grunted, "Damn, don't take much to make you happy does it?"

She laughed and smiled, "Most of the time. Simple pleasures suit me fine." She kicked back and stretched, cracking her knuckles one by one.

Inu Yasha yawned, "Is it possible to sleep yourself to death, because I can't seem to wake up." He rubbed his eyes.

Kagome smiled and reached over to her mug of coffee and set it in front of him, "Here, try some of that."

He leaned over it and smelled of it, "Hey it's not foamy like the kind I make." Inu Yasha picked it up and took a sip, "And it doesn't have alcohol in it, I'm shocked."

She laughed, "Yea, that's what you call brewed coffee. Not that instant shit you have in your cabinet."

Inu Yasha snorted and continued to drink the coffee, "Have you called and check on the boys today?"

She nodded, "Your mom wanted to know if she could keep them for a while. She had to beat your father off with a stick. He wanted to go get Souta's hair cut."

He laughed, "He is just like Sesshoumaru." He finished the coffee and put the cup down on the table. "I'm getting hungry, when will dinner be done?"

Kagome yawned, "Soon. I gotta finish cooking the chicken and the dumplings and mash the potatoes."

He smiled, "Its not poisoned is it?" He asked with that damn smirk on his face.

She arched a brow, "Well, if you die after eating it, then you'll know, wont you?"

Inu Yasha rolled his eyes; "Yeah, yeah...." He stretched and looked outside. "Looks pretty out today."

Kagome smiled, "Do you want to eat outside?"

That brought a bright smile to his face, "Oh yeah ...I like being outside."

She laughed and smiled, "It doesn't surprise me." She put the cigarette out and stood up, taking the potatoes off of the stove and began mashing them.

He raised a brow, "Why doesn't that surprise you?"

She shrugged and put the potatoes back on the stove, grabbing a towel and pulled the stuffed chicken out of the oven and set it on the counter, "Because you seem like the wild type."

He sat there with a confused look on his face, "Wild type?"

"You know. Hiking, in touch with nature, sex obsessed."

He laughed, "Oh, ok." He stood up and rubbed the back of his neck, "Nothing wrong with that, I guess."

She laughed with him, "You know, you have the biggest collection of porn I have ever seen. I think you actually out do Bill Clinton."

"I only have two porn DVDs and the rest belongs to Miroku. He hides them here," he smiled, "Why were you looking through those anyway?"

Kagome arched a brow, "They fell onto my head when I was cleaning out the closet."

His eyes widened, "You were in my closet?!"

She nodded, "And I thought under your bed was bad."

He rolled his eyes and pulled on his sandals, "Nosey aren't ya?"

She arched a brow, "If you really want me to embarrass ya I could go get the butt floss I found in your drawers and make you model them for me."

Inu Yasha's face turned a bright shade of red, "Damn it, stay out of my drawers...."

She giggled, "Aww is Inu-kun getting embawwest?"

He growled. "Oh shut up..." He walked into the living room and pulled off his shirt, showing his bruises and new scars. He began to undo his bandaged ribs. "Get dinner cooked I want to go outside."

She laughed, "Yes master. As you wish." She stood up and walked over to the stove and mixed the dumplings in with the gravy and turned the stove and oven off.

He stood in the living room wrapping his ribs tighter. "They didn't wrap these tight enough last night," he grumbled.

Kagome looked out over at him, "You want me to help you with those?"

He sighed, "Yeah, can you? I can't really reach around to get them tight enough."

She wiped her hands off and walked over to him, taking the bandages from him, and getting down on one knee so she could access them better, and wound the bandages snugly around his ribs.

He stood there looking down at her, 'She looks so much like Kikyou.' Inu Yasha felt his face become flushed. "Make sure they won't come undone," He said.

She nodded and frowned slightly, pulling them a bit tighter, and tying them together with a steady knot. She looked up to ask him a question but her face met nothing but his bare chest and the words died in her throat. She swallowed hard, trying to remember what it was she was going to say.

He looked back over to the kitchen, "Is something burning?"

She looked up and cursed running over and flicking off the burner and picked up the smoldering towel, only succeeding prompting the cloth to catch flame and burning her hand. She cried out and threw the towel into the sink and flipped the water on, sucking on her burnt hand.

He spun around and looked at her. "What happened? Are you ok?" he asked as he walked back into the kitchen.

She nodded, tears springing to her eyes as she attempted to sooth her stinging flesh.

Inu Yasha walked over and took her hand and looked at. "How many more times are you gonna burn yourself?" he asked as he turned on the faucet and ran cool water over her hand and looking it over.

Wincing, she closed her hand into a fist around his fingers, trying to shrink back from to cool water. "I don't know…" She bit her lip and closed her eyes looking up at his face.

He smirked, "Well, it's not that bad. It might sting for awhile, and maybe blister, but my diagnosis is that we can save the hand." Inu Yasha smiled as he reached up into the cabinet and pulled down a jar of home made poultice and handed it to her. "Put this on it and put a bandage over it."

She wrinkled her nose slightly, "What is that?"

Inu Yasha shrugged, "Couldn't really tell you what's in it. All I know is that it cures everything." He looked at the jar. "My grandfather makes it."

Blinking, she arched a brow, "And I do so hope that it smells better than it looks."

He smirked. "Not really, but, hey, it's better than hurting all day."

She sighed slightly and held her hand towards him, eying the jar skeptically.

He got some of the poultice on his finger and rubbed it onto the burn.

She hissed suddenly and balled her other hand into a fist tightly at her side, blood trickling down her fingers where her nails dug into the flesh.

"Oh yeah, it might sting for a bit ....forgot to mention that earlier," He said with a smirk, "There, all done, put a bandage on it and it will feel better."

She glared at him and stormed off to her room, snatching a bandage out of her bag and winding it around her hand.

Inu Yasha shrugged and walked outside and sat down on the front porch. He took a deep breath and soon regretted doing that as pain shot through his ribs. "Someone's cutting grass I can smell it...." he sighed as he rubbed his aching side.

Kagome came out behind him and handed him a plate with his food on it. There was cranberry sauce and chicken, mashed potatoes and homemade butter that she had made earlier, dumplings and gravy, and stuffing. She handed him a mountain dew that she had pulled out of the fridge, and sat down beside him.

He took the food and smiled. "Looks good, smells good, too, and it doesn't looked poisoned." He moved off of the porch and over to a picnic table under a maple in the yard. "More shade over here." He sat down and began to eat.

She got up and followed him and sat down across from and ate her dinner, looking up at him after a while. "Well, how is it?"

He took a drink of his soda, "It's good; better than what I could do." He shoveled more food into his mouth as he sat there.

She laughed, "Of course it is." She sat back and smiled swallowing a mouth full of dumpling, "It takes a woman's touch to make it this good. And the secret ingredient."

He looked up at her, "Uh huh, sure, keep telling yourself that."

She winked at him and smiled, "I only speak the truth."

Inu Yasha turned up his soda bottle and chugged half of it, "Yeah, yeah, or so you would like to think."

She smiled and leaned forward, "Why do you think that Souta and Shippou like me so much? It's only been what, 4-5 days?"

Inu Yasha snorted, "They like you because you let them get away with murder and you're mean to me."

She laughed, "Oh is that it?"

"Yeah, so don't get a big head on your shoulders there," Inu Yasha said as he took another bite of chicken.

Kagome smiled as she rested her chin on her hands, "But I am a good cook."

"I said you were; don't make me repeat myself," he said as he finished up his meal.

Laughter twinkled in her eyes as she watched him clean his plate, "Still hungry?"

He shook his head, "No, I'm full." Inu Yasha yawned and stretched a little as he watched the sun start to set.

She smiled and picked up his plate, "I'll be back in a minute then." She stood up and took their dishes into the house.

He nodded as he watched the sky turn from blue to pink, orange and red. Inu Yasha sighed as the breeze blew through his hair as he relaxed. Crickets were beginning to chirp as he laid his head on the table, closing his eyes.

Kagome stepped back outside and walked across the yard, standing a few feet away from Inu Yasha. The wind tossed her hair about her body as she watched the unseen artist paint the sky with the colors from the concealed brush and palette. She ran a hand through her hair as her mind ran rampant with thoughts from earlier on in the day. So much had happened since she had met Inu Yasha, already.

Inu Yasha yawned, "What are you doing back there, Kags?" He turned his head to look over his shoulder. The bruises gave him an almost monster-like appearance.

Her eyes fell to his face and a soft smile danced across her lips, a saddened look gathering in her features as she studied his bruises. "Nothing," she said so softly that her voice was nearly lost to the wind.

He raised a brow and turned his head back towards the sunset. "Won't be long it will be dark and all the demons will be out and about." Inu Yasha laughed as the sky began to darken.

Kagome stepped over till she was standing right behind him. She rested her hands on his shoulders gently and smiled. "Don't worry..." she said gently, "I'll protect you."

Inu Yasha laughed. "I can protect myself besides I am one the demons that come out to play after dark," he said with a grin, "So, who is going to protect you?"

She shrugged slightly. "I guess I'll just have to run on my own," she replied. 'Like I always have...' she thought, a forlorn look crossing her face.

He looked back at her, "Hey, don't look so down. I don't bite...hard anyway." He stuck his tongue out at her.

She smiled. "And then what?" she asked, amused. "Will I turn into a werewolf on the night of the full moon?"

"No, you will walk the cold, dark nights in search for blood," he said with an evil look in his eyes.

She laughed, "So I guess that it might be a good idea to run now, wouldn't it?"

Inu Yasha shrugged, "I'm not in the chasing mood."

She threw herself dramatically back on the table, sprawled out, and heaved a great sigh, "Yes, I forget that you are the only demon who doesn't like young maidens." She laughed and smiled over at him, "So I won't have my body ravaged by a handsome, yet dangerous demon?"

He reached over and poked her side with a finger. "Nahhh ...not by me, anyway." He smirked. "We need to get Kouga to come over tomorrow and we can go to the club." He winked, "You would like it there."

She giggled and curled up onto her side, shying away from his finger. "Hmmm, a club, eh?" Her eyes danced with silver laughter, "Would they let me in?"

"Hell yeah, Kouga owns it," he stood up and yawned. "Warning though, if you're afraid of blood, don't go." He walked back towards the house.

She bounced up the steps after him, "What do you mean, if I'm afraid of blood?"

"It's a vampire club. Have you ever been to one?" He asked as he went inside.

She arched a brow, "A vampire club. No, I can't say that I have."

Inu Yasha smirked as he walked back to his bedroom, "You will like it. Just dress Goth and you will fit in. You don't have to drink blood if you don't want to."

She arched a brow and stopped in the middle of the hallway, "Drink blood? What do you guys do, get young virgin girls on their rag and lick 'em dry?"

Inu Yasha made a disgusted face, "Oh, that's gross, Kags, where do you come up with that kinda shit?" he asked as he pulled some clothes out of his closet laying them on the bed.

She shivered slightly her lip curling, "You live with some of the people I used to hang out with and you would understand." Her eyes fell on the clothes he put on his bed and her eye brows shot up, "Oh, don't you even dare fuck up this room. I just cleaned the damn thing."

He glared at her, "I'm not messing up the room ok...I'm just getting out my supplies." Inu Yasha wrinkled his nose at her, "So, shut up and sit down."

She plopped on the bed and wrinkled her nose back at him, "Your supplies?"

Inu Yasha rolled his eyes and pulled a small box out of the closet, "That's what I said, didn't I?" He sat down on the floor and opened it up, revealing silver finger armor, a set of shredders and a contacts case.

She arched a single brow high on her forehead but didn't say a word, just eyed the sharp looking objects in the box.

Inu Yasha took out the shredders and put them into his mouth and smiled, flashing his new fangs. "Nice, huh?" He ran his tongue across the double fangs on both sides of his mouth. "Takes time to get use to them though."

She pointed a finger at his head and circled it slowly, "Issues."

"Pshhhh...Its fun," he said as he pulled out the contacts and put them into his eyes. Inu Yasha blinked a couple of times and then raised a brow, "Well, what ya think?" He asked as he looked at her through honey colored eyes.

Forcing herself not to arch a brow again, she rubbed a hand across her chest, squeezing one of her breasts and sucked air in sharply, and spoke in a husky voice, "Oh, baby you turn me on so bad like that; I want you, now!"

He growled. "Damn it, stop that bull shit!" He grabbed his finger armor and tossed the box back into the closet. "Since you think it's so funny, you can stay here, while I go out," he said as he grabbed his jacket and clothes walking to the bathroom to get changed.

She stood up and walked down the hall and knocked on the bathroom door, "Inu Yasha, I was just playing." She sighed and folded her arms over her chest, leaning back against the door and sat down against it. "Don't go out and get hurt, please?" she pleaded to the crack in the door.

"I'm not going to get hurt," Inu Yasha talked to her through the closed door. He changed over into a black button up shirt and a pair of black bondage pants with buckles, chains and zippers all over them. He tried to whiten his face as much as he could, but the bruising showed through. He slipped on a pair of heavy combat boots and then his black coat that came down to his ankles. He reached back and tied his hair back with a black piece of leather and then opened the bathroom door. "You worry too much, Kags."

She yelped and fell backwards when the door opened, and looked up at him from the floor. She huffed and found herself getting a great view of his crotch.

He raised a brow as he looked down at her. "What's wrong now?"

She made a face up at him and growled, "Fine. Goth? Is that what you said?" She asked as she stood up from lying on the ground. A faint blush was tingeing her cheeks, not only of embarrassment but of aggravation. He wasn't getting out from under her watch to get himself killed. And if she had to go watch him slice open some dude's neck in order to make sure he was safe, then so be it. "Goth is what you are going to get." She muttered and stormed off to her bedroom.

He blinked, "Huh? Ok..." He walked to the living room and put on some black eye shadow. "She is the most aggravating person I have ever met." He mumbled as he pulled on his favorite cross and leather studded bracelet.

Kagome growled and picked through her clothes for a bit before finding what she was looking for. A smirk spread over her face as she stood up and began to change. About 15 minutes later Kagome came back out of her bed room wearing a red fishnet shirt underneath a black leather double zipper corset. Her legs were donned with black fishnet stockings and she had on a leather bondage skirt. Most of her legs were covered by her black leather thigh-high boots that had open buckles swinging free on their straps as she walked. Her Ebony hair had been teased until it looked like she had just gotten off of a motorcycle and her pout had been painted a blood red while her eyes were covered in dark makeup, accentuating her naturally pale skin. Her bondage necklace and bracelets caught the hallway's light as she walked over toward him. "Gothic enough?"
