Kagome threw the blankets over her arm that Muuona handed to her and smiled slightly at her. The woman hugged her gently and herded the boys out of the room and downstairs to her car. Naraku nodded in parting to the girl and followed his wife out, having driven Inu Yasha's car back. She watched them until their backs disappeared around the corner, then turned back into Inu Yasha's room. "You awake?" she asked softly, making her way over to his bed.

Inu Yasha opened his eyes slowly and licked his cut lip, "I...think I am....though I can't feel much..." He blinked a couple of times, "Where are the boys?"

She smiled gently, "They went with your mom." She walked over to him and set the blankets down on his bed. "How opposed would you be to sleeping in your own bed at home tonight?" She asked softly, brushing her fingers down the less bruised side of his face.

Inu Yasha's eyes brightened. "I can go home?" He smiled slightly. "I would rather go home; you know I don't like it here."

Kagome nodded just as Sango came into the room rolling in a wheel chair. "It's all set," the older girl said as she came in. Kagome stood up and picked the blankets up off of the bed, and looked at Inu Yasha, "Do you need help?"

He struggled a minute before he sat up, holding his wrapped ribs, "I'm fine…" He looked around the room, "Did okaasan send me some clothes?"

The young girl nodded, frowning, and held a red t-shirt and some loose fitting black pants out to him.

"Be careful of your stitches." Sango moved the wheelchair over to the side of the bed so he wouldn't have to walk as far to it. "You're out of work for the rest of the week, and you should be most of the next. We'll send all the paper work to your mother so you don't have to hassle with it."

Inu Yasha nodded and took the clothes. He stood on weak legs and stumbled into the bathroom to get changed. "Damn that Sesshoumaru," Inu Yasha grumbled as he pulled off the hospital gown and pulled on the red t-shirt and baggy pants. He opened the bathroom door and leaned on the door frame, feeling dizzy, "Wheel that chair over here, I'm not going to make it back over there."

Sango brought him the chair and rested it beside him and held out her hand for him to use if he needed it. Kagome stood in the door way, deep worry lines frowning about her face.

He took her hand as he steadied himself and sat down in the chair "Thanks," he said as he closed his eyes. "Let's go home, Kagome."

Sango wheeled him out of the room and down the hall, with Kagome following him behind. Sango looked up at the younger girl and spoke softly, "Remember what I said about getting in touch with Onigumo. It really will help. I'm going to give you a couple more painkillers, but the most they will do is knock him out. He doesn't seem like the type to enjoy being bedridden so don't rely too much on them"

Inu Yasha whispered to them, "I'm right here, ya know. I can hear ya, and no, I don't like being bed ridden," he smirked.

Sango smirked slightly and Kagome blushed, ecchi thoughts entering her mind at that comment. The girls turned down the hall and Sango showed Kagome what she needed to sign in order to get him released. They took care of the paper work and wheeled him out to the car. Kagome opened the door to the passenger side and Sango reached out for him to use her as support if needed.

He grabbed Sango's arm and pulled himself out of the chair, "Thanks again, Sango," Inu Yasha said as he moved slowly and got into the passenger seat.

Sango smiled and nodded then pulled the chair out of the way and shutting the passenger door. She turned to Kagome and spoke to her, handing her something, then gave her a hug. Kagome smiled and spoke softly back to her, the muffled conversation barely able to reach Inu Yasha's ears. The younger girl waved goodbye to her friend and walked around, swinging herself into the driver's seat of the car.

Inu Yasha rolled down the window letting the spring breeze hit his face, "What were you two talking about out there?"

Kagome smiled, taking off towards the house, "She was just commenting on how hot Miroku was."

He coughed back a laugh, "Ok." He let his arm hang out the window as he closed his eyes enjoying the wind on his skin.

Her eyes drifted over to him, gazing at his semi-relaxed demeanor as much as she could while watching where she was driving. After a while she spoke softly. "I'm sorry."

He looked over at her. "Sorry about what?"

Her hands tightened on the wheel as she stared straight ahead, her knuckles turning white. "I should have just shot him."

Inu Yasha shook his head, "It's ok, don't worry about it." His eyes looked back out the window, his face black from bruises. "He just pissed me off and I ...lost my temper it's partially my fault."

Kagome looked down and smiled wryly, "I'm still wearing your sweats."

He smirked, "So ...hell if you want you can have them." The smirk on Inu Yasha's face turned into a frown as his eyes saw a familiar grave yard. He turned his gaze down to his lap and closed his eyes, "Wake me when we get home Kagome...I'm a little tired."

She looked to where his gaze had fallen and she blinked. Her eyes drifted over to him where he was attempting to fall asleep and she looked at him sadly, speaking softly, "Ok, try and get some sleep."

He grunted and his head lolled forward, his dark hair covering his battered face.

Kagome was left to her thoughts as the sped down the road to the place she had begun to recognize as her home. She glanced over to the sleeping boy as she pulled up to a stop light and smiled softly. Reaching over, she brushed some of his hair away from his face and ran her finger down along his ear, and rubbed it gently. The light changed and she drove on, but she continued to caress his ear.

Inu Yasha fidgeted in his seat, smiling slightly at the rubbing of his ear.

A while later, she pulled into the driveway and unbuckled her seatbelt. As quiet as she could, she grabbed the blankets out of the back seat and opened her door, walking up to the house. She had pulled as close up to it as she could so Inu Yasha didn't have to walk very far. She unlocked the front door and opened it, setting the blankets down on the chair, and went back to the passenger side.

Inu Yasha opened his eyes looking around. "Are we home?" He yawned as he tried to get out of the car. "Damn it!" he yelled at himself and slumped back against the seat.

Kagome walked over to him quietly and leaned over, helping him out of the car, then shutting the door. She draped his arm around her shoulders and led him up to the house. "Are you ok?" she asked quietly.

He grunted, "I'm fine, I just don't like not being able to take care of myself." He took the steps up to the front door slowly and went in.

She shut the door behind him and let him rest against the couch. She threw the keys on top of the TV and turned to look at him. "Do you want to go straight to bed or do you want me to fix you something?"

"I need to lie down; can you help me to my room?" Inu Yasha asked his face a little flushed.

Kagome nodded quickly and reached over to him helping him up again and slowly took him down the hall, not wanting to over exert him.

"This is the first time you have ever seen my room, so don't freak out on me," Inu Yasha laughed slightly as he reached out and opened his bedroom door. "Ignore the mess."

She blinked and looked around, a bit taken aback, but was more focused on getting him to his bed. Just before she was at the edge to ease him down, she tripped over something in the floor. She yelped as she was pitched forward, taking Inu Yasha with her to land on the bed. "Oh gods!" she exclaimed. "Are you ok?" she asked him, leaning over him and studying his face.

He had a grimace on his face as he lay there, "Oh, I'm fine...." he sat up, holding his ribs. "Are you ok?"

She helped him get situated, carefully holding his good side, "Yes, I'm sorry. I'm such a klutz." She studied his face and shook her head. "I'm going to wind up killing you." She sighed and sat down beside him a deep scowl set in her face as she stroked his hair away from his face.

He smirked, "I know, I swear, I think you were sent here by Sesshoumaru." Inu Yasha grabbed the remote and turned on the TV.

She snatched the remote from him and scowled down at him. "Oh no, you don't." She flipped off the TV and reached over, unplugging the radio. "You are going to sleep. No distractions."

Inu scowled. "Hey, I need to relax first before I go to sleep." He snatched the remote back and turned on the TV. "And a good vampire movie should do it."

Kagome stood up and walked over, promptly unplugging the TV. "You are going to sleep." She folded her arms over her chest in a no-nonsense manner.

He flashed her a look that could kill, "Oi, wench, you better plug that back up or I'm getting up out of this bed."

She nodded, "Aye, and then see where ye be." She nodded and sat at the foot of the bed, arching a brow at him.

He growled. "Fine, bring me my meds and I will go to bed."

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a bottle. Unscrewing the cap she pulled one out the walked over to the head of his bed and slapped on a false, smarmy smile, "Open wiiide."

Inu Yasha looked at her. "I can't take those without water."

Kagome arched a brow, "You are the biggest baby I have ever met in my entire life." She put the pill back into the bottle and helped him sit up then walked down the hall.

He smirked as he sat there. "God, she is the biggest pain in the ass," he said to himself.

Her brow twitched as she came back into the room, "But I thought you liked it anal." She walked over to him and handed him the glass of water and the pill.

He snarled and took the meds and the glass of water. "Remember, I had a fiancée once, Miss Know it all." Inu Yasha popped the pills in his mouth and drank the glass of water. "Ok, I took my meds, you can go to bed now, Mary Poppins," he said with a wise ass grin.

Kagome flopped into his bed right beside him and stretched out, yawning. "Ok, will do, Inu-kun."

Inu Yasha shook his head, "Oh, no, you go to your room and go to sleep." He pointed to his door, "Out...see you in the morning."

She arched a brow, "I don't trust you to stay in your bed. So this is where I'm staying. Get used to it."

He swung his legs over the side of the bed and stood up, "Fine, you stay here and I will sleep on the couch."

She stuck a leg out and knocked him back onto the bed, "Don't make me take you back to the hospital because I had to break your legs to get you to stay put."

He lay on the bed and glared at her. The affects of the drugs were kicking in and he yawned, "What ever ...." he mumbled.

Kagome pulled the blankets up around them both and she closed her eyes. "Goodnight, Inu Yasha."

He stared at the wall for awhile, "Good night, Kags..." He closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Kagome peeled her eyes open the next morning, and immediately shut them again in protest to the sunlight beating in on her eyelids. She groaned slightly and tried to roll over, but found herself in a hopeless tangle of arms and legs. Her eyes flew back open and she saw Inu Yasha's face beside hers. A blush covered her cheeks and she closed her eyes. Maybe if she counted to three she would wake up.

Inu Yasha groaned, "Oh hell, I hurt...." He started coughing trying to sit up.

Kagome squeaked slightly as he tried to move and blushed as her legs, entangled with his, tripped him up, sending him back to his previous position.

He landed back on the bed, "Damn it, Kouga, you're such an ass ..." Inu Yasha grumbled and opened his eyes. He looked at Kagome and screamed, "What the hell?!"

She flinched slightly at the loud noise. "Must you be so loud?" she asked hoarsely.

He wrinkled his nose at her, "How about you get out of my bed." Inu Yasha sat up again. "I need to start getting ready for work its after eleven."

She grunted and closed her eyes again, reaching up and grabbed the collar of his shirt and yanked him back down into the bed, "You aren't going anywhere."

Inu Yasha glared at her, "Stop me." He shot up out of bed though it hurt like hell and walked out his room going to get some breakfast.

She groaned, "Dammit Inu Yasha." She whimpered.

He raided the fridge. "Get out of bed and get something to eat lazy ass!" He called back to her.

She groaned and stumbled out of the bed and tramped down the hall, her shirt twisted around and her pants hanging off of her hips, "I'm up, I'm up." She sighed and walked over to him; grabbing him by the hair and making him sit down.

Inu Yasha just shook his head, "Can I not fucking breath with out you getting mad?"

She looked over at him tiredly, "Huh?"

"Eat and then go back to bed, okaasan will keep the kids a few more nights, I'm sure ...I have things I have to do." He grabbed an apple from the table and walked slowly into the living room looking for his shoes.

Kagome growled and grabbed his wrist and yanked him down the hallway to his bedroom, and threw him inside it, making sure he landed on the bed. "I don't think so."

"Bitch, I have a damn life to live!" he growled out at her as he held his now aching side.

Her eyes flashed at the "bitch" comment, "You won't have any life to live if you don't stay your ass in bed and rest."

"You sound just like her..." Inu Yasha glared at her as he lay back on the bed.

Kagome blinked and a confused look settled on her features, "Nani?"

Inu Yasha leaned over the side of the bed and pulled out a photo album. "You sound like Kikyou..." he said as he ran his fingers over the cover of the album and opened it.

Kagome frowned and took a few steps into the room, "Who is she?? Everyone keeps saying I remind them of her, but I have no idea who she is."

Inu Yasha smiled sadly and handed her the book, "She was my fiancée." He moved around on the bed getting comfortable. "You kind of look like her too."

She blinked again and stepped quietly over to him, at the sad look on his face. She took the picture book and gasped when she saw the photos of what looked like to be herself and Inu Yasha. She perched on the edge of the bed and ran her fingers down the edges of the pages, slowly turning them, studying each picture for a moment. "Where is she now?"

He fought back tears, "She was killed by her ex boyfriend."

Kagome's eyes shot up to his face, her own pallid, "I'm so sorry..." she whispered.

"Yeah, me too. She was pregnant when she was killed." He clenched his hands into fists and closed his eyes.

She flashed back to the fight between Sesshoumaru and Inu Yasha. <i>'You're jealous that I have kids and that your pregnant bitch of a fiancé got killed a few years back!' </i>Kagome's eyes flashed slightly and her lips tightened into a thin line. That's what he'd meant. She reached out and touched his hand gently, closing it over the top of his fist.

"Its ok, I'm fine." He rolled over onto his good side with a small grunt, "I'm just gonna rest awhile."

She pulled her hand back and sat there, silently watching him for a while. With very little sound, she stuck the photo album underneath his bed and turned around, pulling the blankets up around his shoulders. She stepped quietly out of the room, and closed the door behind her with a soft click. Walking into the kitchen, Kagome walked to the stove and put some water on to boil.

Inu Yasha stared at the wall while tears fell from his eyes and onto his pillow. "It was my fault; I should have been home that day." He whimpered into his pillow as his shoulders began to shake from his sobbing.

Kagome heard him whimper and her eyes darkened. Next time she wouldn't hesitate to shoot his brother, if for nothing else, because of that heartless comment he had made.
