InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Falling For the Baby Sitter ❯ Party Confessions ( Chapter 27 )
Author's note: Ok, I know that this one is short. And you guys are gonna kill me over the way we ended it. But you must believe us when we say that this was the best place to stop the fic. One of us was drunk and horny (coughbryancoughcoughcough) and the other one was feeling kinda bitchyish. (wheezecoughcoughzabewheezecough.)
ANYWAY, on with the fic.
Kagome watched the dark streets fly by as they entered the city, and looked up at the lights of the building. She yawned and scratched the back of her head again, resting it on the back of the seat.
Miroku leaned his head against the window looking down right pitiful and Inu Yasha looked fucking scared as hell as Kouga pulled into the parking lot of the club.
Kagome opened her door, finally glad to be free of the restraints of the car. She looked around at all the people milling about and started walking towards the club, not bothering to wait for the guys. They would catch up. Right now, she just wanted to walk.
Miroku looked around as he got out. "Not many people here tonight, Kouga."
Kouga nodded. "I closed the club down for the Party for Soryo and Ryo. Only close friends and guest can get in tonight," Kouga said as they all walked into the club.
Kagome stood near the entrance waiting for Kouga and the others to come so she could get in and hopefully get lost in the crowd.
Inu Yasha grabbed Kagome by the arm and yanked her in the door. "Come on in, all those people out there wont be able to get in tonight," he said.
She growled and yanked her arm out of his grasp. Stalking off she walked amongst the guests and she wandered over to the bar.
Inu Yasha glared at the back of her head and marched over to where she was. "What's your fucking problem?" he asked her in a pissed off tone. "You have been ignoring me all damn day."
She picked up the drink the man set on the counter and turned to Inu Yasha. Slowly, she took a drink of it, and pondered what exactly she wanted to say. The vodka warmed her insides and almost immediately took affect. She shrugged, and opted to refer to this morning. "My ass still hurts."
Inu Yasha threw his hands into the air. "I give up!" He said as he turned to see Master Soryo standing behind him.
Soryo raised a brow. "Has your Master allowed you to have a plaything, Inu Yasha?"
Inu Yasha blushed. "N…No Master he has not...."
Kagome arched a brow slightly and looked between the two. She realized who he was talking to and bowed her head out of respect and lowered her eyes.
Inu Yasha lowered his eyes out of embarrassment. "I'm sorry, Master Soryo, for my out burst. It was uncalled for."
Soryo chuckled and patted the boy on the shoulder. "It's ok, Inu Yasha. Now I see what Kouga finds so damn interesting in you. It's that fiery spirit of yours."
Kagome squirmed uncomfortably. Why was she still standing here? She downed the rest of her drink in a couple of gulps then set the cup on the bar. Brushing a few fallen strands out of her eyes, she sat back, not wanting to seem rude by walking off.
Soryo looked at the young girl. "Is this a young fledgling that you have brought to join us, Inu Yasha?" He looked the girl up and down when a younger man with hair dyed dark blue walked over and took Soryo's arm which caused the man to turn and look. "Ryo, how are you this night?" Soryo leaned over and gave Ryo a small kiss on the cheek.
Ryo smiled as he looked over at Inu Yasha. "Inu Yasha, we have to be heading to the back room soon," he stated with a grin plastered from ear to ear on his face.
Kagome blinked a few times under Soryo's gaze, and then waited amongst the men, looking for a good time to do a disappearing act as she had already figured out that there wasn't much that she was needed for here. Hell, she was his baby sitter. She was supposed to be doing the job they had dumped on his mom. Why the hell was she here? She groaned inwardly thinking back to the conversation with Miroku. She had agreed to stay with Inu Yasha as his Baby Sitter, not as some chick that went to social gatherings with him constantly.
Inu Yasha fidgeted nervously. "Yes, Ryo I know..."
Soryo chuckled at Inu Yasha's nervousness as he petted Ryo's hair. "Looks like someone's nervous, Ryo."
Ryo smiled gently "It is nothing to fret over, Inu." With that said, Ryo reached over and grabbed his fledge mates hand and started leading him off towards the back room.
As the two men started to walk off, Kagome turned, hoping to get away before anyone found interest in interrogating her again.
Soryo placed a hand on Kagome's shoulder. "Are you going to stay for the festivities young blood?"
Kagome closed her eyes and used all of her self control not to curse out loud. She turned a smile to the man. "Yes, sir. I'm afraid you are cursed with my presence for the rest of the night until Inu Yasha and Kouga decide to lock me back in my cage," she laughed.
Soryo looked at the girl with a kind expression on his face. "You can sit at my table tonight, and be treated like a fledgling, and maybe you will want to join our court." He made a gesture for her to follow him and walked off towards a huge table at the center of the room.
Kagome glanced over her shoulder once at Inu Yasha, then followed Soryo to the table. The man was kind, and she appreciated the gesture but what was she supposed to do about Inu Yasha, Kouga, and Miroku?
Kouga sat at the head of the table along with two other vampires of higher rank; one male and the other a female. Soryo pulled out a chair next to Miroku. "You may sit here with the other fledglings; I have to take my seat and the head of the table." Soryo smiled and patted her on the shoulder. "Nothing bad is going to happen, don't worry." His hand fell away from her shoulder as he walked away to talk with the others.
Kagome smiled slightly, and then lowered herself into a seat next to Miroku. "Um... hi..." she said quietly, looking around at the table to the curious stares some were giving her. She ducked her head and stared at her hands in her lap.
Miroku nodded. "Hello, Kagome..." he said quietly and stared up at the head of the table, looking at the Masters as they all got up from their seats and walked towards a door that led to another room.
She rubbed the back of her neck nervously and looked about the elaborate room. She reached up and rubbed her face with both hands, and groaned slightly. "Mannnn..."she pushed a few stray strands behind her ear.
Miroku looked at her. "What's wrong Kagome?"
She shook her head and grumbled, voicing her earlier musings. "What am I doing here? He hired me on as a babysitter. Not a fellow party-goer."
Miroku scowled. "He wanted to take you out for a little while is that so wrong?"
Kagome muttered, "I wish." under her breath as she looked around the room some more.
Miroku looked down at the table still angry from what happened earlier that afternoon. "Whatever," he muttered. The masters reentered the rooms with their chosen walking behind them with their heads lowered and eyes on the ground.
Kagome's eyes flickered over the people walking into the room and she felt her chest constrict slightly.
Inu Yasha stood behind Kouga with his lowered. His shirt was gone and his hands were shackled in front of him. Soryo stood in front of Ryo who was in the same state as Inu Yasha was.
"Tonight," Soryo started speaking, "We are gathered here to do two things. One is to welcome two new members to our court, and the other is where I take Ryo as my life mate," the old master said with a smile as he looked at Ryo, but Ryo knew better than to look up at his master without being commanded. Kouga walked over to a table and picked up two glasses and brought them over to the fledglings. He held the glasses up to the light and looked at the crimson liquid and then held it out to the fledglings.
"Take this and drink." Kouga commanded as his voice boomed out across the room. Ryo and Inu Yasha reached out took the glasses. They downed the liquid quickly.
"That is the blood of the masters. The blood that you have flowing through your veins," Soryo stated.
Kagome watched all of this, silently, her eyes glued on Inu Yasha. Her eyes drifted to his bruised torso which was exposed now. After a while, her eyes drifted back up to his face. Never letting her eyes leave him, her hearing focused in and out of comprehension as she listened to the words coming from Soryo's mouth.
Soryo walked over to Ryo. "You two must always obey your masters. Do you understand me?"
The pair looked up at him and nodded slowly and spoke in unison. "Yes, Master."
Soryo took Ryo's face in his hands and made him lean his head to one side. Ryo did this with no protest and felt Soryo's lips on his neck .Ryo's eyes flew wide for a moment and then closed half way as Soryo sank his fangs into the young mans pale flesh.
Kagome's hand flew to her neck where her own wound was covered by the strange neckline of the dress. Inu Yasha had given it to her. Watching Soryo drain the crimson liquid from his lover, she felt something strange stir inside of her and her eyes once again returned to Inu Yasha.
Kouga walked over and raised a clawed hand and grabbed Inu Yasha by the chin and made him turn his head roughly. Inu Yasha turned his golden gaze to his lover. "You are mine. You obey me and only me." He made the young man lean his head to one side and then sank his fangs into his neck. Inu Yasha's eyes closed as a nearly silent moan escaped his lips.
Finally, the girl lowered her eyes away from Inu Yasha and rested them on the table. His moan echoed across the hall, and reached Kagome's ears. Turning her head to the side slightly, she forced herself not to look up.
Soryo led his lover over to the table and took his wrist and biting into it and then he offered his wrist to Ryo who bit it in return. Soryo took their wrists and bound them with a red cloth. "My Ryo, you are now mine, as I am yours." Soryo leaned down and kissed him gently. Inu Yasha and Kouga watched from a short distance .Inu Yasha's eyes looked empty and confused as he stood there watching.
Kagome focused her dull gaze on the bound couple at the head of the table, remaining unable to glance into the other couple's direction.
Inu Yasha's eyes focused on the table as he was lead to it by Kouga. He sat at his feet like a faithful pet as Kouga ran a hand through his hair as he sat in the chair he was assigned to.
Lowering her eyes once again to the table, she quietly listened to the proceedings while her mind ran rampant with thoughts, a slight frown burying deep lines in her face.
Miroku looked over at Kagome. "Kagome, will you look up and stop sulking."
Her head snapped up to glare at Miroku, an uncheck fire blazing in her eyes. "I am not sulking," she hissed.
"You are too and I advise you to stop it." Miroku hissed back at her dangerously.
Her eyes narrowed slightly. "As soon as you ask Nazuna out, as you so obviously are infatuated with her."
He growled and got up from his chair and walked over to the bar, mumbling along the way.
Kagome huffed slightly and sat back in her chair stiffly, trying to calm her frazzled nerves.
Kouga looked over at the commotion still petting his love's hair. "Where did Miroku go, Kagome?" he asked absent mindedly.
Her brow twitched and she refused to look up at him. "I couldn't tell you." She stood up abruptly. "If you'll excuse me." She walked off, her skirts swaying with each step.
Kouga looked at Inu Yasha. "Go and see what is going on with her since she is yours to deal with." With that, he set Inu Yasha's hands free from the shackles.
Inu Yasha got up and followed Kagome quickly. "Kagome," he called out and grabbed her by the arm. "Hold up, would ya?"
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, slowly counting to ten so she wouldn't snap, and rotated herself around. Her pulse picked up slightly at his touch, but she couldn't tell if that was more from anger or being flustered. She plastered a big fake smile on her face. "Yes?"
Inu Yasha eyed the look on her face and then tilted his head. "What's wrong with you? And don't tell me nothing, because you will be telling a lie."
She hesitated a moment then spoke cautiously. "I'm just worried about the kids. I thought I'd call and check on them." She attempted to turn around and walk off.
He reached out and grabbed her, pulling her up against him. Inu Yasha looked her in the eyes with an intense gaze. "You are telling me a lie," he said quietly.
She closed her eyes as she felt her body being pressed up against his. She forced herself to breathe, even if it was abnormally. Her eyes moved up his face and she gazed into his eyes steadily trying to ground herself as she felt a soft warmth creeping across her insides. It wasn't unpleasant... but it wasn't something you were supposed to feel when your employer had you pulled tight against him. Then again, since when were you supposed to be pulled tight against your employer? Parting her lips slightly, she spoke through her dry mouth. "Yes... I am."
Inu Yasha kept her locked in his gaze. "Why are you lying to me, Kagome?"
She took a deep breath and again tried to steady her heart that was racing in her chest. "I got squeamish at all of the blood..." she said softly, trying to look convincing. Her eyes dropped to the wound on his neck and her hand would have instinctively flown to her own if he wasn't restraining it.
He growled and tightened his hold on her arms. "Tell me another lie." He then let go of her arms and started walking back the way he came. "You tell nothing but lies, Kagome," Inu Yasha said as he walked away
She froze as she watched him walk away, and then snapped to her senses. "Inu Yasha, wait," she called out, hating the way his back looked when turned on her.
Inu Yasha froze and snapped his head back around to look at her. "What?" he snapped.
She flinched at his tone, a hurt look crossing her face and she lowered her gaze to the ground. "It's... because I think like you... a lot..." she said, her voice lowered considerably.
Inu Yasha's icy demeanor dropped along with his jaw. "K...Kagome I didn't know...that you thought..."he stammered over the words trying to think of what to say.
The girl just shook her head, and turned around, walking away.
