InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Falling For the Baby Sitter ❯ Kidnapped ( Chapter 44 )
"Hello, Kagome."
A dark voice came out of the shadows of the hotel room and a hand came crashing over her mouth before she was yanked up out of bed. "It seems you have gathered up a few more children while I've been away...Too bad that you wont be around for them to care for. Don't worry.. I'll take good care of Mayu."
Kagome felt a strong force knock her to the ground. Her skull cracked against the entertainment center and all went black. It had been a blessing she had lost consciousness so soon, as she couldn't feel his pummeling fists any time after that.
Shippou woke up and shook his brother, tears streaming down his face.
Souta looked at his baby brother and then to where he was pointing. "Oh, no ..." he whispered and pulled Shippou to him.
Kagome was on the ground, her crumpled form at the foot of their bed from the happenings earlier that night, and Mayu was no where to be found. The entire room was in chaos with shattered glass and random things strewn about.
Souta bounded off the bed and shook Kagome.
"Kagome!!! Wake up!!" He cried as Shippou ran outside into the hall looking for Inu Yasha or Kouga.
"Yasha!!" he cried out running down the hall.
The blood that had soaked through her clothes slicked the young boys hands and her torn night shirt blew around her body as did her hair from the open window.
Souta looked at his hands. "Oh no, Kagome, wake up, please."
Shippou ran down the hall and saw no one and headed back to the room. "No Yasha," Shippou said as he burst into tears.
Sango laughed and set down her wine glass looking up at Miroku and Kouga then to Nazuna and Muuona who were laughing as well at the spaghetti sauce caked on Inu Yasha's nose.
Muuona shook her head. "I think it's about time we headed back before Yash winds up looking like a meatball."
Inu Yasha wiped his face with a napkin. "Yeah, I want to check in on the kids before I go to bed," he said.
Kouga finished his wine. "That reminds me, Kagome said she left her purse in the van, I need to take it to her." He paid the bill and left a tip for the waiter. "So, let's get back to the hotel," he said as he stood up and grabbed a small box with a couple pieces of cheese cake in it.
Everyone gathered up their things and the girls continued to crack jokes until they were all on the elevator, save for Kouga who had made the run to the van. As soon as they got onto their floor Sango guided Miroku and the two girls to their room for a game or two of poker. None of them noticed Kagome's door hanging half open as they passed.
Inu Yasha walked down towards Kagome's room and noticed the door partially open. "That's odd." He pushed it open and saw the wreckage. "Oh my God, what happened here?!" he cried out, getting the boys attention.
Souta and Shippou rushed him, they both were covered in blood and crying.
"SANGO!!!! MIROKU!!!" Inu Yasha yelled out as he knelt down to check the crying boys over for injuries.
Sango rushed down the hall tripping over her own two feet before stumbling into the room. Her eyes fell upon Kagome's crumpled body and she gasped her hand flying to her mouth. "Oh my god..." she turned away, and promptly let her stomach and her dinner say their goodbyes to each other.
Miroku stood there terrified and then looked around. "Wheres Mayu?!" he asked as he looked to the boys.
Inu Yasha was on the verge of freaking out when Kouga showed up. "What in the seven hells happened?" Kouga dropped Kagome's purse and ran in to see if she was even alive.
Inu Yasha looked at Souta. "Where's Mayu?"
Souta sniffled. "Her daddy took her, Yasha ..is he gonna hurt Mayu?"
Inu Yasha scowled. "I don't know."
Sango shook violently with disgust and rage. "I will kill him myself...that mother fucking asshole..." She stormed past the others in the door way and over to Kouga and Kagome. She checked for a pulse, and was relieved to feel a faint one.
She grabbed Kouga and Miroku and motioned for them to come with her to go get help. She told Nazuna and Muuona who had just shown up to take the boys out of there and strictly instructed Inu Yasha to stay with Kagome.
Inu Yasha moved over towards Kagome as flash backs flashed through his mind of another time and another scene similar to this one. He felt like he was losing what little sanity he had left as he knelt down and brushed the hair from Kagome's face. "Kagome..." he whispered. "Wake up for me, please..."
The girl in front of him didn't stir save for the wind's games that it played with her hair and tattered clothes. With her night shirt torn away from her body, a long scar running from the center of her breast bone down to the bottom of her rib cage was exposed to his eye.
The man shook with rage as he pulled Kagome into his lap and screamed at the top of his lungs. "Hojo, you're a dead man, even if it kills me to kill you, I will take you to hell myself!!" Tears fell from his eyes as he rocked her in his arms. "Not again, not twice in one life time." He sobbed as he looked down at her.
A whimper of pain sounded from Kagome's lips as he squeezed her in his arms. Her face scrunched up and her eyes clenched tightly as a tormented gasp came from her mouth.
"Kagome, wake up!" Inu Yasha commanded. "Tell me where Hojo is, so I can get my little girl back!"
The girl winced and opened her eyes. "I-Inu Yasha?"
Inu Yasha looked down at her. "Where is Hojo?"
Her eyes widened in horror and she sat up quickly, ignoring the piercing pain that shot through her body. "Where's Mayu?" she cried desperately, looking frantically around the room.
"Yamero!" He pulled her back into his chest. "Be still before you kill yourself," Inu Yasha ordered. "Hojo was here, Souta said he took Mayu."
A sob escaped her and she struggled to get away from him. "You have to let me go! I have to go get my baby girl! Mayu!"
"Iie..." Inu Yasha held her tighter. "I will go and get her, tell me where he is."
Frantically, she shook her head, trying to get away. "Please, Inu Yasha," she sobbed desperately. "I need to find out where he took my baby!"
He growled and lowered his mouth to her ear. "I know you know where he is, so tell me and it will make this quicker," he seethed, "Or we will be here all night while he has our little girl."
Kagome trembled in his arms as she tried desperately to think of the places he could have taken her. All the time she had spent with him, all the time she had been drug around to drug deal after drug deal, there were only three main places she could think that he could be. As she sat there trying to think, she narrowed them down quickly. One of them was only operable in the winter when the owners were away, and another was a warehouse that was being condemned as they spoke. She looked up at him with blood shot eyes framed by her black and blue skin. "We have to go to Chicago..." she whispered hoarsely.
Inu Yasha blinked. "Chicago, he would take her that far away?"
She nodded quickly as she scrambled out of his grasp and found her purse where Kouga had dropped it. She reached in and pulled out a small black book. Flipping through the pages, she stumbled across the address she had been searching for. "Hojo is a large underground dealer. He is not only a drug lord, but he also is largely into prostitution rings. About 8 months ago, he tried to sell Mayu off to prostitution agency in order to make an alliance between the two companies. There main office is in Chicago."
Inu Yasha's eyes narrowed as he got up. "He is willing to sell his own daughter out to be a whore to make a damn dollar!" He clenched his hands into fists. "He is going to hell, and I will personally make sure he gets there." Inu Yasha stomped out of the room and down the hall running into Sango.
"You fix Kagome up as best you can, we have to leave," he ordered.
Sango nodded, a bit confused. The girl bustled past him and into the room. She found Kagome and quickly started nursing her wounds and binding her injuries.
"Is it what I think it is?" she asked her quietly.
Kagome nodded. "Onigumo sold me out...and Hojo is taking Mayu to Hiten."
Sango's face paled slightly. "And Manten?"
Kagome lowered her eyes to the ground. "I have a feeling he is still waiting here for me. So you have to make sure no one comes with me... Don't tell Inu Yasha when I leave..."
Sango paused for a moment then nodded in understanding. She finished patching the girl up and stealthily snuck her down the hall to the elevator. They exchanged their goodbyes and Kagome disappeared behind the steel doors of the elevator.
Inu Yasha went into his room and dug around in his bag and pulled out a 9mm. "I knew I brought you for a reason." He double checked the gun to make sure the safety was on and shoved it into the waist of his pants and threw a trench coat on to hide it. Inu Yasha walked out into the hall looking for Kagome.
"Kagome!!!" he yelled out.
Sango jumped at the sound of Inu Yasha's voice and warily turned around. 'I love you Kagome, but you can't do this alone...'
The aforementioned girl darted out the doors, dialing a number she had hoped she would never have to use again on her cell phone. After clicking off with her old friend, she darted down the road, waiting for her ride to show up; unaware that Sango had just sold her out.
Inu Yasha rushed out of the hotel looking for Kagome. Anger was radiating off of him in waves when Kouga and Miroku found him. They were too scared to get any closer. "Inu Yasha..." Kouga said as he looked at him. "Urusai!!" Inu Yasha yelled. "I don't want to hear it, where is she?"
The roar of a motorcycle grew behind her before skidding to a stop. She whirled around, a large smile growing on her face.
"Myouga!" she cried.
The dumpy old man waddled off of the bike and embraced the girl. "Be careful, Kagome..." he said cautiously.
The girl smiled sadly at him. "Wish me luck, Myouga."
The old man sighed and did as she said, just as the girl leapt up onto the bike and took off, driving right past Inu Yasha, Kouga, and Miroku.
Inu Yasha saw her go by. "Kagome!!! Don't go!!" he yelled at her.
Breaking quickly, the girl spun the bike around to face them. She sighed irritably. "Dammit, Sango, do you not know what don't tell Inu Yasha means?" She looked over at the three. "This bike only seats two, if you are going get on, but two of you are staying behind to take care of the boys."
Inu Yasha ran to Kouga and gave him a passionate kiss. "Aishiteru, Kouga." He smiled sadly as he bolted away from him.
"Inu Yasha, no!! Stop!!" Kouga yelled and rushed towards him only to be caught by Miroku. "Kouga, we will meet up with them, let them go Sango will help us find them."
Inu Yasha ran and jumped up on the bike. "Let's go before I hear Kouga cry out for me again," he said as he refused to look back.
Kagome took off in a flash, dodging through late night traffic. Her flashing eyes flickered in her anger as she turned off of the highway a ways down onto the off ramp leading to a private airport. Kagome was completely silent, not letting on that she was in any way affected by the moment shared by Kouga and Inu Yasha.
Inu Yasha held on to the bike as they road down the high way shaking the thoughts out of his head about the kids and Kouga. The wind dried the tears from his face before they had time to run down his cheeks.
Kagome parked the bike off in a dark corner and leapt off and ran over to wear Myouga had arranged for a small plane to pick them up to take them to Chicago. She dashed up the steps and sat down, buckling in quickly, waiting for take off.
Inu Yasha followed her into the plane and sat down next to her rubbing his arms. "He better not have hurt her."
She again said nothing, not even letting on that she had heard him as she stared out the dark window.
He moved around and pulled off his coat. "Kagome, speak to me," he said as he pulled a couple more full clips out of his trench coat pockets.
She turned her head to look at him, but then looked away again. "Why did you call her your little girl?"
"Because she asked me to be her daddy, and I said I would." He pulled the gun from his belt. "If you don't like me saying it, I wont do it again," Inu Yasha said as he tossed the full clips into her lap. "Keep those on you alright I might lose them."
Kagome took them silently. "Call her what you want..." She lowered her eyes to her lap. "Inu Yasha... if something happens to me...promise me you will take care of her."
Inu Yasha stared at the gun in his hands. "I promise, and if something happens to me you will take care of the kids and Kouga right?" he asked.
Kagome looked at him sharply. "No."
Inu Yasha raised his brow sharply and looked at her. "Nani?"
"Nothing's going to happen to you." Her firm tone was a lot more stable than her heart was at the moment. She turned to face the window. "I'll make sure of it."
"Kagome, don't be stupid anything can happen." He growled at her and grabbed her face, making her look at him. "You're more precious to people than you know," Inu Yasha said as he looked her in the eyes. "So, get that into your hard head."
Kagome stared at him for a moment then jerked her head out of his hand to look back out the window, not saying a thing.
"Damn it, Kagome, don't be like this!" Inu Yasha boomed out at her.
She whirled on him. "Be like what?!" she asked a bit louder than necessary.
He locked a glare onto her face. "I know you're worried, so don't sit there and act like nothing is wrong." Inu Yasha wiped the sweat from his face and rolled up the sleeves of his dress shirt, revealing bloody bandages on his arms. "Now I wished I had a t shirt to wear."
A sharp hand connected firmly with the side of his face, snapping it to the side.
He raised a hand to his face as he turned back to look at her. "What the fuck was that for?"
Tears shone brightly in her eyes as she stared at his arms. Her gaze lifted to his as the tears spilled over. "You talk to me about not believing I'm worth anything, but what about you?!" she screamed, grabbing his arm and bringing it up, indicating what she was speaking of.
Inu Yasha looked at his arms. "I never said I was all there in the head, ok."
She grabbed him by the chin and forced him to look her in the eye. "You are all there, Dammit. Stop acting like you are crazy and that no one can love you just because of what happened with KIKYOU!" She yelled forcefully. "Believe it or not, Inu Yasha, people DO love you! And not just Kouga either!"
He lowered his eyes. "Kagome, I have done things like this before I ever met Kikyou, and I know other people love me."
Kagome sat back and pushed herself away from him, glaring out the window, refusing to say a damn thing.
Inu Yasha reached over and grabbed her hand, interlocking fingers with her.
Her eyes landed first on their hands then his face, a questioning look in them.
Inu Yasha looked straight ahead. "I hate being the way I am, you know."
She looked at him. "What do you mean?
"Well, look at what I do to myself." He raised his arm. "And loving two people at once tears you apart."
Kagome's eyes fell on his face. "What do you mean..." she asked quietly.
"Its just hard being the way I am...one day I know what I want and then the next it changes." Inu Yasha sighed. "It's just confusing."
She paused for a moment. "I meant the part about loving two people at once."
Inu Yasha swallowed hard. "Its hard trying to stay loyal when you see something else you want, but you don't want to lose what you have." He closed his eyes. "I'm just rambling ignore it."
Kagome looked down at her feet. "That's when you have to wonder... is what you want going to benefit you in any way that what you already have cannot... or is it even worth it?"
"Either way, someone winds up hurt, so it doesn't really matter what I want now does it?" He yawned. "I'm not gonna worry about it for now, cause my mind changes constantly."
She shrugged out of the jacked she had thrown on before running off and pillowed it behind his head. "I'll wake you up when we get there..." she said quietly.
Inu Yasha laid his head back on the pillow, one hand still wrapped around hers and the other holding the 9mm. "Yeah, I need some sleep."
Kagome suddenly burst out laughing but stifled it with one hand, turning to look out the window.
He cracked an eye open. "What?"
She smiled over at him. "Look at what you have in your hands."
He looked down. "Your hand and a gun, so what." Inu Yasha looked back over at her. "I'm too tired to figure out your riddles, so spill it."
Leaning over, she kissed his cheek gently. "You're just a walking oxymoron."
Inu Yasha smirked. "The moron part, I know I am." He yawned and closed his eyes again. "Wake me when we get to hell."
She nodded and leaned her head against the window, looking out at the clouds. Her fingers tightened around him and she hummed quietly to him.
Inu Yasha drifted off to sleep his head leaning over to one side. His dark hair covered half of his face and billowed out whenever he exhaled.
A small smile played across Kagome's lips as she watched him. He was so peaceful and adorable looking when he slept. God what a contrast to when he was awake. 'Yea, because he's drop dead fucking gorgeous when awake,' her mind chided her. She scowled and made a face at the back of the seat.
Inu Yasha groaned when he moved and bumped his bandaged arm on the arm of the seat he was in. His face twisted in pain for a minute before going back to a peaceful state.
She watched him for a few moments then gently tugged her hand out of his. He was right... either way... someone was going to get hurt... so it was a matter of who would be hurt less. She stared out the window down at the earth far below. Since she had known him the least amount of time that would mean her....right?
Inu Yasha flexed his now empty hand missing the warmth that was once there.
She watched his hand move and then slipped her hand back into his. Well, holding his hand wasn't going to change that at all. She lay her against his shoulder and closed her eyes. She needed to reserve her strength, because unless she was mistaken, Hojo would be at his usual tricks with his usual lackeys.
Inu Yasha squeezed her hand and sighed happily in his sleep.
She squeezed his hand back and wrapped her other arm around his torso, breathing in his scent deeply. He was very comforting...he made her feel safe...but at the same time he made her want to protect him with everything she was. So confusing...too confusing...gods when did she get so tired.
"Oyusami Kagome-chan..." he mumbled in his sleep.
Her eyes snapped open and she looked up. She arched a brow trying to figure out what he had just said.
He leaned his head over onto her shoulder and began to snore into her ear.
Kagome wrinkle his nose and decided to play a mean little trick to pay him back for his... elegant little gift. Slowly, she trailed her fingers up his thigh while he slept with her free hand, inching higher and higher.
Inu Yasha's eyes flew open. "Anata ne!" he yelped and grabbed her hand."Uso daro konna." He looked over at her and let go of her hand and smacked his face with it."Sorry, you so need to learnJapanese,Kagome."
She arched a brow. "What did you say?"
He laughed. "Nothing bad, by any means of the imagination."
She watched him. "And Oyusami?"
"Oyusami means good night," Inu Yasha said with a yawn.
She smirked and flicked his nose. "Oyusami."
He smiled. "Like I can sleep with you around."
She grinned wickedly. "You're always welcome to sleep with me."
Inu Yasha smirked. "With you, there would be no sleeping to it."
Her grinned widened. "Exactly."
He laughed hard. "Get some sleep before I knock you out."
Kagome shifted a bit, pretending to get comfortable, but wound up somehow with her mouth nearly right by Inu Yasha's ear. All of a sudden she let out a soft tempting moan. "But Inu Yasha... How am I supposed to sleep in such a state?"
Inu Yasha looked down at his aching arms. "You just have to find a way to deal with it like I do."
She laughed. "Oh I see, harder to jerk off with arms like that, eh?"
He smirked as he started to pull of the bandages. "Yeah, looks like I will have blue balls for a while, huh?" He unwrapped his right arm to reveal a good twenty deep gashes. "But it will get better." He started unwrapping his left arm.
She stared down at him, and then shook her head trying to think of something to say to that. "Unless you can find someone to help you with it."
"I think I can live with out it for awhile," he said as his left arm was freed. It was worse than the right arm.
Kagome stared adamantly out the window. "Go to sleep."
