Kagome licked the blood off of her lips and sat back running her hand through her hair. She smiled down at Inu Yasha from her position on top of him. "Do ya give yet?"

Inu Yasha glared up at her. "Did I ever tell you that you're a pain in the ass?" he snorted, pushing her gently off of himself and stood up. "You can't take a joke."

The girl just wrinkled her nose up at him. "A joke, eh?"

"Yeah, a joke. Ever hear of one?" he asked as he folded his arms across his chest.

She put her finger to her lips and pretended to think. "Yeah..." she shot a glare up at him. "You, when you kiss."

Inu Yasha flipped his hair over his shoulder and headed down the hall towards his room. "I didn't hear you bitching about it earlier this morning," he said snidely.

Kagome stood up and looked down the hall after him, the set about cleaning the kitchen up and setting the food out for the kids. "I guess I just take what I can get," she said quietly.

Inu Yasha walked out of his room pulling on a black t-shirt. "Well, then stop whining and complaining," he stated as he then moved to pull his hair back into a ponytail.

The girl pushed past him and walked down the hall to go get the kids, ignoring his statement. Inu Yasha rolled his eyes and followed her down the hall, acting like all was cool.

Kagome smiled and knelt down, shaking a very sleepy Mayu and walked over to stir Souta.

Souta opened his eyes and yawned. "I'm still sleepy," he mumbled.

The older girl smiled gently. "You'll never want to go to sleep tonight if you don't get up now."

The little boy groaned and sat up rubbing his eyes. "But Yasha hardly ever sleeps. Why do I gotta?"

She smirked and headed over to wake Shippou. "Because you're four and he's nineteen, that's why."

Souta frowned. "No fair, just cause he is old, he can do more things than I can."

Shippou lay under his white blanket with only one foot being scene from under it. Kagome smiled and reached down, tickling the little boy's foot. "Go take it up with Inu Yasha. I didn't set your bedtime."

Shippou's foot tucked itself under the blanket as the little boy began to wriggle about under the blanket. The girl laughed and attacked the little boy with a bout of tickles. This made Shippou star laughing and kicking about knocking the covers off of him.

Mayu sat up and rubbed her eyes, yawning as Kagome pulled a ruffled looking little boy out of his bed. "I smell food..." she said sleepily.

Souta nodded and got out of bed. "Smells like breakfast."

Kagome looked over to where Inu Yasha stood silently. "Go dish them up some food. I gotta get Shippou changed and ready to face the day."

Inu Yasha sighed and walked into the kitchen and started dishing out the food and setting the table for the kids.

Kagome smiled and changed Shippou, and poked his belly. "You ready to go eat, squirt?"

Shippou laughed. "Yeah," he said in between giggles. Souta changed clothes and ran into the kitchen and sat down at the table. He looked at Inu Yasha.

"Good morning, kuso jiji."

Inu Yasha growled. "Keep it up, Souta, and I'm gonna wrestle you down until you beg for mercy," he said as he cracked his knuckles, trying to look mean. A wad of gravy mysteriously appeared in Inu Yasha's hair, but Mayu was pulling an innocent act, and was calmly eating her biscuits and gravy. Kagome walked in moments later and seated Shippou, handing him some food.

Inu Yasha sighed. "Today just isn't my day," he said as he grabbed a towel and wiped the gravy from his hair.

His employee looked up at him suddenly, and then lowered her gaze, brushing past it and settling Souta in. She straightened moments later and walked down the hall to her room. Mayu watched after her then looked up at Inu Yasha. "What's wrong with Mommy?"

Inu Yasha shrugged. "I don't know. Why, what did she do?" he asked as he looked around.

Mayu just frowned and looked down at her food, shaking her head and kept eating.

The man frowned and walked down the hall to Kagome's room. "Hey Kags, what ya doing?" he asked as he peeped into the bed room door.

The girl was standing in front of her closet, staring blankly into the dark storage area. "Nothing," she said quietly.

He scowled. "What on earth did I do now?" Inu Yasha asked as he propped up on the door way to her room.

She turned a strange, hurt look towards him. "I... didn't mean to push you... I mean I did... I just didn't think you didn't enjoy it..." Kagome stammered as she lowered her eyes where she was twisting the hem of her shirt.

Inu Yasha's face lost all color. "I didn't say I didn't enjoy it." He sighed. "You're hearing something that I never said."

Kagome felt her chest tighten and she looked up at him. She reached out and brushed her fingers along his face gently. "You're pale, Inu Yasha..." she whispered softly.

He looked at her face. "I'm just tired, I didn't rest well." Inu Yasha wrinkled his nose. "A few bad dreams kept me from getting very much sleep last night."

"You should go to bed," she said as she dropped her hand from his face.

Inu Yasha closed his eyes and frowned a bit. "I don't need to go to bed. I need to get out of this house for a while, I feel like it's closing in on me."

Kagome bit her lips and turned around. "I'll watch the kids," she said as she went back to remake her already immaculate bedspread.

Inu Yasha opened his eyes to glare at her. He felt hurt at the way she was acting, but he didn't blame her one bit. Inu Yasha turned and quietly went to his room, grabbing some things and packing them into a bag.

The girl sunk onto the bed as soon as he left and stared down at the carpet. A few stray and unwanted tears gathered in her eyes.

She should have just stayed in her room last night. She should have just left him alone. She closed her eyes and looked at the small bed stand and eyed the drawer. It was so tempting to just do it... but she had said she would watch the kids. Kagome bit her lip and forced herself to look away and over to her stereo.

Inu Yasha pulled on his shoes and grabbed his leather trench coat. He pulled the back pack up onto his shoulder and scowled as he walked down the hall.

Hearing his footsteps, Kagome stood up quickly. She reached out into the hall and pulled him into her room as he passed and pressed him against the wall. Hesitating only for a moment she leaned up and pressed her lips against his, trying to memorize the texture of his mouth, the scent of his woody musk, the warmth of his body against hers.

He blinked in surprise and dropped the bag he had on his shoulder to the floor along with his coat. Inu Yasha closed his eyes and leaned his full weight onto the wall.

The girl linked her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her, and leaning her body against his. She coaxed his lips open with her tongue and with it, attempting to memorize every contour and detail, hugging him close. He groaned into her mouth as he wrapped his arms around her waist. Inu Yasha forgot all about leaving as he stood there losing himself in the kiss.

Kagome felt her body soaring as she arched her body into his. She trailed her hands up to tug his hair out of it's ponytail, running her hands into it, caressing the back of his head and neck, loving the way the silky tresses flowed through her fingers like liquid.

Inu Yasha tightened his hold on her as if she was a life line and that she was the only thing that could save his wretched soul. Inu Yasha groaned as he felt his jeans begin to tighten around his arousal. She sucked in a breath as she felt the evidence of his enjoyment of this pressing into her. She pulled back only to start suckling on his bottom lip and nipping at it, then tracing kisses down his chin and neck to the juncture where it met his shoulder. He moved his hands down to her waist and dug his nails into the fabric of her shirt. "Kagome," Inu Yasha groaned out as he tried to gather his thoughts into a clear perspective of what was going on.

She heard him call her name and a shiver went up her spine. Flicking her tongue out over his neck, she latched onto a small area of flesh. The sun streaming in from the window warmed her back while Inu Yasha's warmth took care of her from the front. She slipped one hand under the hem of his shirt and traced it up over his side and moved it over his chest.

Inu Yasha opened his eyes, breathing heavily he pulled her tightly against him "Kagome...what..." he stopped trying to gather his thoughts and not make an ass of himself.

She pulled back from his neck and rested her head against his chest. She turned her head so she could listen to his heart beat and closed her eyes. "...I just wanted you to know...that I care for you...that I love you," she whispered as she dropped her other hand down to encircle his waist.

He closed his eyes and knocked his head against the wall hard on purpose. "I know you do, Kagome." He sighed and lowered his head down and leaned it onto her shoulder as he hugged her tight. "You picked one fucked up person to fall for, you know," he said quietly.

I don't care!" she insisted as tears trekked down her face, beginning to soak his shirt. "I can't help it, and I don't want to help it." She tightened her arms around him. She laughed quietly and shook her head, closing her eyes so her tears dripped from her black gossamer lashes.

Inu Yasha ran a hand into her hair. "All I will do is cause you grief and tears like I am now, Kagome. Don't you see, I'm nothing but trouble," Inu Yasha said as he watched her ink black hair fall through his fingers.

She looked up at him and studied his face. Smiling softly she stifled her tears. "I couldn't care less. All I know is that I have never ever felt like this before, and that you are such a good father to Mayu and the boys, and that I want nothing more than to be with you. I can get through the bad times, because even though I'm crying, I know that I love you so much, that just knowing that you know, and aren't turning away in disgust or indifference is making it up to me."

Inu Yasha sighed and looked across the room at the wall. "What about Kouga? I owe him so much. He saved me from the darkness that I fell into so many years ago.'' He gripped at her shirt as he felt his heart being pulled in two directions. Inu Yasha laughed quietly. "Like I said before, it sucks being this way. Loving two people at once can really break a person's heart in two, ya know?"

She nodded and smiled warily. "I don't know, Inu Yasha." She stared off to the side and spoke softly. "There's a selfish part of me that wants me to beg you to stay with me, but I'm strangely thankful for Kouga being there for you..." She lifted her eyes back up to him. "All of your friends that I have met have told me that you guys are perfect together... and you are..." She laughed and rubbed the back of her neck. "I don't know, maybe we should all just be one happy threesome," she joked.

Inu Yasha gave a good hard belly laugh. "Oh yeah, that would just work out perfectly. An orgy every night, I don't think I would live through it."

Kagome giggled and loosened her strangling grip on him and smiling up at him a bit. "It will take me a while...but...I'm willing to try...if you want to stay with Kouga... I will find a way to live with what I have with you now." She brushed her hair back from her face. "Just as long as I get to have you in some way... and don't lose you completely."

Inu Yasha nodded as he let her go. "In the short time that I have known you, Kagome, I have grown quite attached to you." Inu Yasha smiled sadly. "I can't lose you either."

She returned his not quite a smile and dropped her arms. Her gaze dropped down to his bags and stepped back, laughing nervously. "Looks like I distracted you from your trip," she said as she stepped back.

He blinked. "Uhhhh, yeah, you could say that." Inu Yasha laughed as he bent down to pick up his bag and coat.

Smiling slightly, she rubbed the back of her neck. "When are you going to be back?" she asked, "I mean, how long before I should put up Lost Puppy posters?"

Inu Yasha smirked. "I was going to the gym. I don't think you will have to post any missing posters for me for doing that."

Kagome laughed. "Alright, well, I might take the kids out to the park or somewhere interesting, if that's ok. I heard their might be a carnival in town."

He wrinkled his nose. "Going to the gym is more fun than some corny carnival," Inu Yasha stated.

She rolled her eyes. "Yes, let's take the kids to go lift a hundred and twenty pounds and work on their abs."

Inu Yasha adjusted the bag on his shoulder. "Hey, it wouldn't hurt them to work out."

Kagome just gave him a look. "Get out of here before they think we're making babies."

He rolled his eyes and opened the door and muttered. "We came damn close to doing that." He walked out into the hall.

She smirked and shook her head. "I wish."

Inu Yasha marched down the hall and into the living room, looking for his car keys.

"Oh, Inu Yasha, what if I signed the kids up for some martial arts classes?" she asked as she grabbed the keys off the mantel and tossing them to him. "You know, to give them something to do, and it's... sort of working out."

He quickly reached up and caught the keys an inch from his face. "Fine with me, but Shippou is too young. They have an age limit four and up."

Kagome nodded. "I can find something for me and him to work on." She smiled and waved to him. "Bye, Inu-kun."

Mayu looked up from her breakfast to see her mother smiling at Inu Yasha and almost choked on her food.

Inu Yasha smirked. "See you guys later. Don't hurt Kagome too bad," he said as he walked out the door and bounded off the porch.

Mayu looked up at her mother questionably. "Mommy, are you sick?"

Kagome just shook her head. "No, hunny, I just think it's time to act like a family."
