Miroku lay there alone on the ground. His back was aching and he let out a defeated moan of despair. This was not supposed to happen.

- Had enough yet monk?

Miroku turned his head to see Sesshoumaru again. "Shit as if I did not suffer enough?" he thought bitterly.

- What do you want Sesshoumaru-sama? asked Miroku.

- Nothing special, nothing more then to make sure that you do not interfere with my brother and the taijya, said the lord with his emotionless voice.

- What is so important with them?

- Could it be that you truly are this stupid monk?

- Could you ever stop insulting people you meet Sesshoumaru-sama? snorted Miroku.

- Seize your impudent manners monk.

- If you tell me why you are here.

- Naraku is on the move again, I can smell his stench. I am here because I am interested in forming an alliance with the hanyou and his pack, said Sesshoumaru.

- So is this the reason you do not want me to interfere with their little mating game? asked Miroku.

- My brother has chosen his mate, and if he has mated properly he will be able to get even stronger. And this will prove useful against Naraku and his filthy horde of demons, said Sesshoumaru.

- Ha, don't fool me Sesshoumaru-sama; you could not care less what happens to Inuyasha. You would rather see him dead.

- You are wrong monk, I might have wanted to kill him in the past, but seeing him take on demons that are ten times stronger then him and win, I am beginning to respect him. He is worthy of our father's great fang.

Miroku was confused. Had the great Sesshoumaru just said that he respected that filthy creature that had stolen Miroku's girl? No that can not be right. Miroku tried once again to break from his sealing bonds and a fox's simple magic, but it was useless. He was stuck to the ground.

- I could release you, said Sesshoumaru.

- Then what the hell keeping you from doing it?

- Your attitude.

- My attitude?

- And I want you to promise that you will not interfere with my brother and the taijya. You will not try to separate them in any way, said Sesshoumaru and sat down next to a tree so he could watch the houshi's desperate struggle against his bonds.

- I can not give you such promise Sesshoumaru-sama.

- Well, then you will remain here until some demon find you delicious enough to eat or you will rot away, what ever comes first for you.

- Ever the asshole Sesshoumaru-sama? snarled Miroku.

- Ever the shithead monk? You really need to work on how you treat the women around you.

- What do you know about courtship and the worship of the female body?

- More than you I would dare to say. This Sesshoumaru do not go around groping them.

Miroku was about to die when he saw the relaxed smile on the great Sesshoumaru's face. "Has everyone gone crazy?" he felt a wave of panic flush his senses. If he was to get out of this mess alive he had to promise the lord not to mess around Sango and Inuyasha. He sighed with a miserable sound.

- Alright Sesshoumaru-sama, I promise I will not interfere with Inuyasha and Sango. Can you please remove the sealing spells? he asked with a broken voice.

Sesshoumaru nodded and got up and used his glowing whip to remove the spells from the monk's back. But as soon as Miroku was up on his feet he felt a clawed hand go around his throat.

- If you break your promise I will make you wish that you was still on the ground, rotting your way into history, do you understand monk?

- [gulp]Yes Sesshoumaru-sama.

- Good, now show me to the village, said Sesshoumaru with his regal voice and let go of Miroku's throat.

Miroku nodded and walked back to Kaede's village.

Kaede grey eye went huge when she saw the great demon lord in the company of the monk. "Has hell frozen over or what in the all the world has happened?" she asked silently.

- Inuyasha, Sango, Kagome, come here, quick!! she said into the hut.

- What is it Kaede-obaasan? asked Kagome and moved to stand next to the old miko.

- Look!

Kaede pointed towards Miroku. Kagome's mouth dropped. Inuyasha drew his sword and moved to stand in front of the women.

Sesshoumaru snickered a bit as he turned around.

- Rin-chan, come here! he shouted to someone that was not visible.

A girl came out from the bushes; she had followed her beloved Sesshoumaru-sama all the way from the woods. He had ordered her to stay hidden, but when he called for her, she came out of hiding.

- Sesshoumaru! yelled Inuyasha.

- No need for you to draw your sword against me today Inuyasha, I am not here to fight, said the lord.

- Huh? Not here to fight? Then why are you here?

- I want to form an alliance with you little brother.

Inuyasha almost tripped over his feet when he heard Sesshoumaru's words. And it did not get any better when he saw the little girl shyly take the icy lord's right hand. "I think I am going to be sick, because I am seeing things." he thought but he put away his sword although he never let his guard down. And why did the houshi look so beaten?

- Hey Miroku, are you alright? asked Inuyasha. Even if Miroku had been acting like an ass he was still his friend.

- Yeah, I am sorry Inuyasha, said Miroku, his head hanging.

Inuyasha nodded and looked back to his brother.

- An alliance you say, why?

- Because together we can beat that filthy Naraku, said Sesshoumaru. - Especially if you have mated the taijya.

Sango gasped and stumbled back a few step. Inuyasha turned around and caught her before she fell to the ground.

- Are you ok Sango-chan? he asked worriedly.

- Yes, thank you Inu-kun, said Sango and blushed as he pulled her up and into his arms.

- Don't scare me like that, he whispered.

Kagome cleared her throat and Inuyasha and Sango shot up, trying to look normal but ended up looking flushed with embarrassment.

- Can we get back to business please? snorted Sesshoumaru and slapped Miroku lightly on his head when the monk began to boil with jealousy again. - Do not even think about it monk!

- I did not do anything, snarled Miroku and rubbed his sore head.

- You were thinking. Get over it.

Kaede was the one who solved the dispute and tension by inviting them all into her hut. Shippou and Rin found each other and they were off to play with Kirara instead of listening to the adults boring conversations.

Sesshoumaru told the group about his plans while Kaede and Kagome served them tea. When they were done talking, Sesshoumaru asked Inuyasha to come with him so they could talk in private. Sango got a worried look and Sesshoumaru promised on his demon honour that he would not harm her mate in any way. That got her silenced and red as a cherry.

Inuyasha showed his brother up the stairs to the shrine. There they could talk without having eavesdropping ears around them.

- So what do you want to talk about big brother? asked Inuyasha.

- You need to complete the mating ritual with the taijya, stated Sesshoumaru as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

- Why do you say that?

- Because you will grow even stronger if you are mated.

- Huh?

- Don't be a fool Inuyasha, you know that you have chosen a strong female, mating with her will make the both of you stronger. You share her power and she will share yours.

- She will?

- Yes, she will. So if I were you I would bed the bitch as soon as possible so we could get that tentacle asshole, sneered Sesshoumaru and smiled when he saw his younger brother blush madly. - What makes you feel so embarrassed?

- Ehh, well, we…

- Ahh come on little brother, don't be shy. You can tell me anything, I am your brother you know.

Inuyasha choked on his breathe when he heard Sesshoumaru talk in such way.

- Has the poison in your claws gotten to your head Sesshoumaru?

- Not at all, I have recently realized that I want a family as well. And I want to try to be the brother I once was to you. If you need to ask me anything, you can do that.

- I am not sure I want to, mumbled Inuyasha. He was having some serious trouble with melting all that was happening around him.

- But I still urge you to bed Sango-san.

- I want too, but.. I am afraid that she will not accept me … niisan.

- She will accept you otouto, she loves you.

- How do you know that?

- Can you not tell this from her scent? She gets excited every time you touch her, and I saw you two up in the tree. She is more than willing to be your mate Inu-chan, smiled Sesshoumaru with warmth.

- Don't call me that!

- Oh, that is reserved for Sango-san alone perhaps?

- Ohh do shut up niisan!!

- I will. Come on, time to get back to your pack.

Inuyasha sighed but nodded. "What a fucking day." He thought and felt all washed up.
