Chapter Nineteen: Comeback

Kagome woke with warmth both on her side and on her stomach. Yawning she looked at Shippo and Yasha curled up on her stomach. She then looked to her side and saw a little girl with black hair. Racking her brains she tried to remember where she had seen this girl. “Rin.” she said out loud.

“Who else would it be?” a male voice asked from above her. Startled she looked up into the tree and saw a dark shadow leaning against the tree trunk. She jumped when a necklace was dropped on her head. Pulling the chain off her ear, she gasped as she realized it was hers.

**Flashback**

Kagome screamed, “SIT! SIT! SIT!” soon InuYasha was lying in another deep crater. Her and Sango sighed in relief as the pup looked towards InuYasha’s crater and ran off towards him carrying something shiny in his mouth.

Sango gasped, “Kagome…your…head you’ve got dog ears!” Kagome turned white as Miroku walked up to her holding his robes close to his body.

**End of Flashback**

“InuYasha?” she asked the shadow. The shadow didn’t reply so she sniffed. “Sit!” she whispered and was rewarded with the hanyou crashing through the branches and landing beside her, on the other side. “Where did you go?” she asked as Shippo and Yasha woke from the vibration.

Yasha happily attacked InuYasha wagging his tail and licking the Hanyou’s ears. InuYasha sat up and looked at Kagome. He handed her a rolled up scroll.

Kagome looked at him and opened the scroll. Inside was a highly detailed map of what she guessed were Sesshomaru’s lands. She touched a place with red dots. She looked up at InuYasha and asked, “Is this us?” InuYasha nodded. “Where were you? Why did you leave?” InuYasha looked down at the ground.

“I left to regain the land my father gave my mother. On the way I overheard a plot to storm my brother’s castle. I had to tell him.” InuYasha said quietly.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Kagome asked him.

“Because my Yokai blood has been acting up since I found out you are Inu hanyou also.” InuYasha said. Kagome could tell he was withholding something.

“Tell me the truth InuYasha.” she ordered him.

“When I went to my brothers castle he told me I had formed a pack. I didn’t know this till he told me. I then realized that I had a duty to do. I have to finish this when everyone is awake. It involves them also.” InuYasha said finally looking at her. His amber eyes were tinged red, yet he was still sane.
