For You

Kagome sighed as she found herself on the other side of the well; She was finally home. She slowly crawled up the side of the well, reliving each painful moment with every movement she made. //Did I really tell Inuyasha that I hated him? It wasn't entirely his fault. I feel a little bad, wait…what am I saying? He had his way with me; I shouldn't be so forgiving to him! But still, even after all of this, I do have love for him.// Kagome looked up from the ground and found herself standing beneath the tree where her and Inuyasha had first met. //Oh Inuyasha, why do you hurt me so much?//

“Kagome! You're finally home!”

Kagome broke from her thoughts and turned to see her little brother.

“Yeah, I'm home. You haven't been causing any trouble while I was gone have you?”

Souta laughed. “Not too much. Mom is out right now, but Gramps is home if you want to say hi. Knowing you you're probably just here to pick up something.” He frowned.

“Actually, I'm going to be home for a while.”

“Oh.” Souta smiled. “You got in another fight with Inuyasha, didn't you?” he said nudging her arm. “You guys need to learn to get along, you're never going to get a boyfriend Kagome.”

Kagome glared down at him. //What a brat.// “Souta you don't even know what happened so don't be such a brat all the time.” She spoke while giving him a small slap on his head.

“Ow Kagome, why are you always so aggressive?”

Kagome smiled. “I'm going for a walk, I'll be home later.”

“Okay.” Souta groaned. “I guess that means I have to tell mom. Just make sure you don't get yourself killed.”

“On a walk?”

“Kagome you're so clumsy you could trip over a rock and hurt yourself.” He laughed running away.

She glared once more at her brother as she watched him run into the house. She shook her head and brushed his words off, she just wanted to find a nice relaxing place to sit and calm her nerves. She looked down and gasped as she realized she was still only wearing Inuyasha's haori. Souta just might have thought she was cold and slipped it on. //It might be better if I changed before going on a walk.//

After a quick change Kagome headed off. She stopped when she reached the park and took a seat on a bench and sighed. //Where did everything go so wrong? If I had never met Inuyasha none of this would have ever happened. I wouldn't hurt so much and I-What am I saying! Some of my best times have been through that well…// Kagome began to cry.

Inuyasha sat down and leaned his back against the well. //Kagome hates me. But then again why shouldn't she?//

“INUYASHA!”

He looked up to see Miroku and Sango running towards him. He frowned; he wasn't exactly in the mood to speak with them.

“Inuyasha…” Miroku spoke breathlessly, “What happened, and where is Kagome?”

“She's home, I thought it would be best. I just wish I had sent her home sooner.”

Sango pushed Miroku aside and stared at Inuyasha. “You mean you kidnapped her to bring her home?”

“No, that's not how it happened.”

Miroku placed a hand on Inuyasha's shoulder. “Inuyasha I have the feeling that you did something horrible to Kagome, and that's why you sent her home. Did something happen?”

Inuyasha nodded. “This time I went too far, and she told me that she hated me, hell I hate myself right now. I don't want to talk anymore, I'm going for a walk.” He said turning and heading on his way.

“Inuyasha don't be like this. You need to work things out with Kagome and you know it.” Sango yelled.

Inuyasha stopped and sighed. She was right after all; he did need to speak with Kagome and work things out. He turned back around with a dull expression and without saying a word leaped into the well, drifting to Kagome's time.

Souta stood and stared in amazement as he watched Inuyasha come out of the shrine in which the well was.

“Wow Inuyasha, usually when you and Kagome get in a fight you're the last one I'd expect to see.”

“Why's that?”

“Because Kagome will beat you up!”

Inuyasha smirked at Souta's innocence and asked where Kagome was.

“Kagome? Oh yeah, she went for a walk and hasn't come back yet. I think she'll get home soon though, if you want to wait.”

“I guess I'll have to, I could get lost in this city of yours.”

Inuyasha stretched a bit and jumped in through Kagome's window and sat on her bed. Looking around the room he noticed several pictures had been put face down. //Wonder what this is about?// Inuyasha hopped off her bed and lifted each picture up to find that each had him in it. //I guess she really does hate me.// he frowned. Completely oblivious to the fact that Kagome had gotten home, Inuyasha jumped as he saw her standing next to him.

“Kagome I'm sorry about what happened, I really am. Do you think that you'll ever be able to love me again?”

Kagome's eyes looked everywhere and anywhere but at Inuyasha. “I don't know.”

“Kagome I couldn't help it, my demon side just took control of me. I would have never wanted to do anything like that to you and you know it.”

“Yes, I know, but the point is that you did.”

“I'M SORRY KAGOME! I don't know what the hell to do or say to make things better.”

Kagome finally looked up at Inuyasha's face and noticed the sadness that had built up in his eyes.

“Kagome please forgive me, I don't know what I'll do with myself if you ever leave.”

“Inuyasha…” she sighed, “This will be your last chance.”

Inuyasha smiled. “Thank you.” He said as he went to reach for her to embrace her in a hug. Kagome pulled back from Inuyasha. “I don't want you to touch me still. I said I'd forgive you, but I never said you could hug me.”

Inuyasha gave a deep sigh. “Sorry, I should have known better.”

Kagome sighed as well, was she making the right decision? Inuyasha could feel how saddened Kagome felt. Although he did feel bad he couldn't hug her, he was most pleased that she had decided to forgive him after all.

“Kagome, I'm going back to my time. When you're ready, will you be coming back?”

Kagome nodded. “I will in a few days or so.”

“See ya...mate” Inuyasha waved as jumped out the window. But even as he left he couldn't shake the feeling that there would always be a deep tension between them, that there would always be hatred in her heart against him, even when she would begin to tell him that everything was fine between them.

//Will everything really be okay?//

Okay I know this was a veeeeery uneventful chapter, but I'm thinking of somehow spicing up the next one with a lemon...any suggestions?
