A few days later Kagome decided that she finally ready to see Inuyasha and her friends again. As she reached the top of the well, in the feudal era, she was greeted by Inuyasha's smiling face.

 

“Hey Kagome!” he yelled cheerfully as he helped her from the well.

 

“What got into you?”

 

“Nothing.”

 

Kagome gave an uneasy stare, she had never seen Inuyasha this happy since…ever.

 

“I'm glad you decided to come back.”

 

Kagome nodded slightly. “I told you I would.”

 

“I know, but still…” he smiled. “Let's go say hi to the others before I steal you away.”

 

“What do you mean “before you steal me away”?”

 

“I want to talk to you alone about some things is all, and don't worry, I'm okay now.”

 

Kagome gave a deep sigh. “You better be, don't forget you're on your last chance.”

 

“I know, I know.” He groaned.

 

 

After a small meet and greet with Sango and Miroku Inuyasha decided it was time to talk. He grabbed Kagome's arm and gave a smile as he pulled her away from her friends.

 

“So what's this about?” Kagome asked, crossing her arms when they finally stopped.

 

“That night…” Inuyasha started.

 

“Yeah, what about it?” Kagome cut him off.

 

“Well you know that you're my mate now.”

 

“Yeah you've told me a few times already and it's been tingling ever since I crossed over.” She spoke as she reached up to touch it.

 

Inuyasha smirked and began to poke Kagome in her side. “You know what that means…”

 

“No.”

 

“It means that you're the one in heat now.”

 

Kagome blushed. “No it doesn't! You're just saying that!”

 

“Am I Kagome?”

 

Inuyasha caught Kagome off guard and pulled her over. Pulling back her hair from her shoulder he exposed his mating mark and licked it. Kagome felt a strange sensation travel through her body. He could feel her shake in his arms and smirked. Suddenly realizing what was going on Kagome pushed him away.

 

“What was that about?!”

 

“I was just checking.” He laughed. “Now let's see how long you can hold out when you're the one in heat.”

 

“Just fine!”

 

“Yeah? Maybe you could before, but you're my mate now, so as long as I'm here…you're gunna have some trouble.” He laughed.

 

“Oh whatever!” she said pushing him aside. “I'm going back to camp.”

 

Inuyasha grabbed Kagome's arm as she turned to leave. Holding her back against his chest he leaned forward and whispered in her ear.

 

“Do you really want to do that?”

 

Kagome felt her knees shake. //What is he doing to me? I don't want to do anything with him but gah! He's winning me over…I feel so weak against him.//

 

“Yes, I do.” She spoke, trying to stay calm.

 

Inuyasha smirked. Running his fingers down his sides he grabbed her hips and tugged on her, pulling her closer than before. Licking the top of her ear he whispered again.

 

“How long can you resist? Mate.”

 

The word sent shivers down her spine. //That's right, we're mates, and that's the only reason he's winning me over so easily.//

 

“Don't.” she spoke softly.

 

Quickly pulling away Inuyasha began to head back to camp. “Well then come on Kagome, you're the one who wanted to go in the first place.”

 

Kagome tried to ignore the feeling that swept over to her but his voice, even saying the simplest things, was calling to her. //DAMN THAT MATE MARK!// She looked at him with a lustful look in her eyes.

 

“You win, Inuyasha.”

 

“I knew it!” he laughed. “You're just as bad as me!”

 

“No I'm not! I'm not the one who's going to…” she stopped.

 

Inuyasha felt as if a dagger had been thrown at him and stabbed him in the back. “Say it Kagome.”

 

“No.”

 

“You started it come on…say it.”

 

Kagome shook her head. Inuyasha grabbed her shoulders and shook her

lightly.

 

“I want you to say it, finish what you started.”

 

“I'M NOT THE ONE WHO'S GOING TO GO RAPE SOMEBODY!” She yelled with tears building in her eyes.

 

Inuyasha pulled her tightly against his body and leant down, pressing his lips against hers; he gave her an “I'm sorry” kiss. Breaking away from the kiss he looked deeply into her tear-filled eyes and smiled.

 

“I wanted you to get it all out.”

 

Kagome smiled back at Inuyasha and gave him a loving kiss. All the fighting had made her want him even more and the closeness of him wasn't helping either, on top of that her mark was tingling to no end.

 

“Well are you going to claim me as you're mate the right way this time or are you just going to stand there?”

 

Shocked at Kagome's words Inuyasha stood in disbelief.

 

“Are you being serious Kagome?”

 

“Now more than ever.”
