Kagome lay in her bath thinking. Sesshomaru had returned having been gone only 5 or 6 hours. He seemed bored but had ordered Inu Yasha to the study and had locked them in it. No one seemed to want to do anything with her today. She had even tried to get the kids to play with her, but they had all started a game of hide and seek and she didn't want to interrupt them. On top of that Sango and Miroku were still gone.
Closing her eyes she slipped into the water and let the heat wash over her head.
Kagome?
Standing in the water Kagome braced for an attack and looked around.
Tell my Sons to meet me at the over look I will be returning shortly, the Gods wish to talk with you though, you have only a few moments, hurry.
Kagome listened and grabbed the towel beside the bath, not taking time to even dress she ran through the halls to pound on the door of the study. Sesshomaru's barrier dropped and she bound in slamming the door.
“Both of you to the over look now. Go.” She yelled at the pointing to the window.
Both brothers looked at each other, they knew with the way Kagome was acting it had to be important.
“Do not leave this room, Mate.” Sesshomaru watched as her as the hurried to leave.
“Gods need me.” Kagome panted out before clutching the towel closer and preparing herself to sleep.
“Sit in my chair, wwe'll return as soon as we know what happening.”
“Your dad told me to have you meet him there, go. I don't know what's going on but something is happening. Go, I'll be fine, i'mma order the kids to come here and i'mma set up a shield.”
“Get dressed also, we might have a battle coming.”
“Maybe, but go.” Kagome motioned him out and she called a servant.

Once everyone was settled in the study Kagome placed a shield over them and sat in her mate's chair behind the desk. The children were depressed by the interruption of their game but Kagome told them when things settled they could go back to playing. After everyone settled Kagome found herself ripped into the dimension of the Gods.
We have returned your Lord, but the man your Mate wishes to keep out has advanced with a army. There is an outside force that had messed with our plans. You will prepare for battle. We can tell you no more, because what you do this day will determine the future.
Kagome gasped awake surrounded by dozens of children.
“Shippo, Rin, tell everyone to be prepared for battle. Go hurry. Everyone else, I want you to stay here and protect each other.”
Rin and Shippo left quickly. Kagome continued. “Do you remember what Lord Sesshomaru, Inu Yasha, and I look like?” All the children nodded. “Good, one of us will come, or all of us will return, until then do not leave this barrier. Everyone who isn't going to fight with us is going to be here, I want you to behave and not start anything. Do you understand, this isn't a game.”
“We understand. You can trust us.”
“Thank you.” Kagome stood from the chair and left the room as people began to enter.

Entering her room Kagome pulled on her slayers armor and grabbed the three swords and her bow and quiver. Then she returned to the study.
Many of the people on their own had taken a seat against the walls, the children sitting in the middle. Walking past everyone she smiled and headed back to the desk. Her new sword sat innocently wrapped in a thick material.
Pulling at the material she reveled the weapon that had hurt her best friend and scared her mate.
The scabbard with pure untainted white wood with symbols etched in it for love, purity, and faith. The hilt was white and silver. Reaching out she took it with out fear. It was warm in her hand but it didn't hurt, Drawing the blade the untainted silver gleamed in the sun light.
“I don't know what your deal is but we're going to protect these people and your going to work with me.” She growled before sheathing it and placing it on her opposite hip as the other swords.
Placing a barrier she wrapped the power tightly around the room.
“Your Lords and I are the only ones who can enter this barrier, do not leave this barrier, it will protect you from any attacks. If you leave you can't get back in. We are at battle with the North as of now and no can be spared to watch over you.”
“Our Lady, please be careful.”
“I know Ai.”
Walking to the window Kagome smiled at the sight over the three men racing back to the castle. Pulling the Shikon jewel from between her breasts and called to the shard that she felt the oldest demon held.
”I call the power of my soul to me.” She yelled to the heavens. The final shard joined the rest and Kagome felt the power wash over her. Drinking in the power Kagome felt herself grow. The jewel washed her in a glow that was absorbed into her skin. By the time the men reached the courtyard Kagome had taken back her power and the small piece of her soul that was the jewel leaving only a glass orb that held a wish.
Sesshomaru landed and looked at his Mate. He could sense the difference in her. “I told you to remain in the castle.”
“Sorry.” replied sheepishly. “I was told to prepare for battle, the North is headed this way with an army.”
“You will not attend.” Sesshomaru watched his mate as she jumped from the balcony to stand in front of him.
“What? Why not? You know I can handle myself, I've been training.”
“No Kagome. I can't risk you getting hurt, I can't risk losing the pups.” He sighed and moved to her.
Inu Tashio stood back with Inu Yasha both knowing this was about to turn bad.
“I'm going Sesshomaru and it's final. I'm going to heal Inu Yasha, and we're going to leave and head as far as we can and fight there where our kids will be safe should something big happen. Shippo and Rin have taken care of the castle. They are all safe in the study where I have placed a barrier. Right now our army is preparing for your orders. I've done as I have been told to by the Gods, I'm sorry if it went against what you wanted but even I know as a Lady I have to prepare things so that when you return your not hindered. You gave me weapons to fight with, you said that you understand I'm a warrior. It's not going to change.”
Sesshomaru snarled at his Mate. “You were correct in thinking that I would want you to prepare us for battle, but wrong in thinking that I was going to take my pupped mate with me.”
“I'm going Sesshomaru, you can't stop me. It's my fight too. The Gods, told me that something is messing with their will, how this battle plays out will determine what happens in the future.”
“Then you defiantly won't be going.”
“I will too.” Kagome snarled stepping closer.
“I am Lord, I say no.” Sesshomaru stepped up to the challenge and returned her snarl with one of his own.
“I am Lady, I say I go. Will you challenge me?”
“Yes.”
“Son, don't do this.” Inu Tashio called to Sesshomaru trying to stop the two from fighting.
“Stay out of this.” Sesshomaru leapt back and drew Tokigin.
“You dare draw a corrupt blade against me?” Kagome spread her stance and drew her own sword. Tossing Tensaiga to the elder demon she set aside the other two. The pure blade she lay down knowing she would really hurt her mate if she used it and laid the bow and quiver just off to the side.
Turning she drew her miko blade.
“First blood I go, you win I stay.” Kagome called to him.
“It is acceptable.” Charging in a flash of light Kagome blocked and returned his attack. The clang of swords were the only notice to the two watchers.

Inu Yasha turned to the man beside him and tuned out the argument. “So you're my old man huh?”
Inu Tashio turned towads his son. “Yes, I am your sire. You have grown since I left.”
“Keh. Mom missed you after you died.”
“I know, we talked in the after life.” Inu Tashio flinched. “She loves you as I love you.”
“Keh.” Turning Inu Yasha focused back on the argument. Kagome and Sesshomaru had been both disarmed somehow and now they were rolling around in the grass. At the moment Kagome was on top straddling her Mate. Her grin was that of triumphance as she looked at her snarling Mate.
“I win.”
“You have fought unfairly.” Sesshomaru snarled holding her hips. Kagome crossed her arms.
“Your just mad I thought of a dirty tactic you didn't.”
Sesshomaru reached up and grabbed a handful of her hair pulling her to his chest. “You will accompany us but when we return I will finish what you started.” He pushed her off of him and stood dusting his clothes.
Kagome blushed but dusted herself off and began to replace the swords in her belt.
Inu Tashio moved forward and handed her back the sword she had tossed to him. “Lady Kagome, this one thanks you for his return and has come to aid you in the events forth coming. I believe this was given to you.”
Kagome's eyes narrowed. “Your as bad as your son's.” Taking the sword offered she watched in humor as the elder slowly backed away slowly.
“Lady Kagome, this one does not understand your anger.”
Sesshomaru and Inu Yasha watched the exchange in humor completely lost but entertained.
“Sesshomaru is the worst. He influenced Rin. Inu Yasha I can forgive, but evidently your DNA carries the problem.” Kagome shook Tensaiga at the retreating demon Lord.
“Now Kagome, calm down.” He motioned with his hands for her to stay calm but knew it wasn't working when he seen the tick beginning above her left eye.
“I am calm.” She snarled.
“Then this one must ask why you are so angry with he.” His boot hit a rock and he stumbled to the ground only to continue his retreat on his hands.
Kagome swung the sword effectively hitting him with the scabbard in the forehead. The elder stared at it with crossed eyes trying desperately to understand the angry woman in front of him.
“Your language sucks.” Kagome shrieked. “Have you never heard of grammar!” Each word emphasized by another hit of the sheathed blade.
Inu Tashio sat on the ground in horror. He was being attacked by this fierce little miko demon because of this `grammar'.
“I suppose you ignored your lessons on how to talk properly also.” Happy she had knocked some sense into him she slowly turned to the two laughing males that were supporting each other. “Inu, Sesshomaru.” She cooed sweetly. Both men stilled and shut up instantly. “I wouldn't be laughing if I were you.” Inu Yasha visibly gulped and Sesshomaru stood clearing his face of all emotion.
“Mate, we must leave if we wish to avoid the confrontation with in the walls.”
“Oh, don't change the subject, mate, how is this funny? Have you not been in a similar situation? Believe me when I say this Sesshomaru, don't piss me off right now.”
Inu Yasha helped his sire to his feet as Kagome stared down the other demon Lord.
“We leave mate.” Sesshomaru sighed and led the way out the gates followed by Kagome, Inu Yasha, Inu Tashio, and half the western Army.

Many of the soldiers had already gotten over the shock of their former Lord's return by the time they reach a clearing for the battle.
The large mass overlooked the land and on the horizon the Northern Army could be seen. Kagome, Sesshomaru, Inu Yasha, and Inu Tashio all walked to meet half way with the opposing side in hopes of ending it without a fight.
The northern Lord stood surrounded by his own Generals as he looked at the four people in front of him in horror.
“Lord Kitamarto, you have over stepped the laws laid out by our ancestors. You have entered the Western territory without this one's permission. Also, by coming into these lands you have broken your punishment given by the Inu no Tashio. Surrender now and your lands will be released and your punishment will be swift.” Sesshomaru's voice was cold but no one seemed to show anything. They just stood and watched waiting for some movement.
“Dearest nephews. Lord Sesshomaru, Lord Inu Yasha, I have only come in the place of your...father to pronounce the mating of yours Lord Sesshomaru. We must make sure that our dying line is not tainted more then it has been.”
Inu Yasha held back a growl but Kagome placed a hand on his shoulder and stepped up to stand with her Mate.
“Lord Kitamarto, I assure you, my place at Lord Sesshomaru's side is anything but tainting, by trespassing, we again ask you to bow down.”
“Lady Kagome. You are not what I have heard you to be. I was under the impression you were a human.”
“I care not what you thought, the Inu no Tashio has returned and you are trespassing, your death is all we are here for, now again bow down.”
The demon snarled at her as she degraded him. “I am Lord, I am above you, you will not speak unless spoken to.”
This time Inu Tashio and Inu Yasha stepped forward, Sesshomaru moved in front of his mate for protection but she place a delicate hand on his arm and shook her head.
“The only man I will bow down to is my Mate. His is the only man above me and we have already agreed we are equals. He respects me and grants me permission where it is due. Our affairs are none of your concern.”
Lord Kitamarto stepped forward and raised his hand to strike Kagome but his hand never connected. Sesshomaru's acid whip wrapped around his wrist, Inu Tashio's sword was at his throat and Inu Yasha had lost himself to his demonic side and was crouching in front of Kagome, who had erected a barrier of multicolored light.
“That, would not be a good idea Northern Lord.” Kagome reprimanded.
“You will die this day.”
Turning Kagome addressed the generals behind their Lord. “I am Lady of these Lands, will you fight with your Lord against my Mate and I, or will you honor our laws and surrender him to us to return to your lands in peace?”
The men looked on seeming to not even heard.
“They will not answer, I am their master, they do as I say.” The captured man laughed crudely.
“So you have taken their free will and made them true pawns. Your death will be nothing less then necessary.” Kagome turned and left the feild to head back their waiting troops.
“My Mate has made the decision, we will battle for our enjoyment.” Sesshomaru released the man and followed his Mate along with the other two men. Inu Yasha shaking his head clear as they left.

Kagome sat facing the fire. Lunch had been prepared for the camp but she just didn't have the stomach. Inu Tashio sat beside her and offered a bowl of the warrior grub.
“It's not bad Kagome. Sesshomaru would be the one to tell you to eat but he's having fun doing battle tactics. I'm sure you've seen him fight, it's his cup of tea.”
“Ya I know, Sesshomaru loves to fight.”
“You need to eat.”
“Not hungry.”
“Your body is changing to accommodate four pups, you think your not hungry but your hungrier then you think.” He pushed the bowl into her hands and waited until she began to eat. Her bites slow and lazy.
“Kagome, you took the shard the Gods' told me to bring back. You have the jewel, and the power, there are some people waiting to return on the other side. They are willing to wait until the pups are born so don't feel pushed to do anything before you are ready. Tonight, if we don't battle you will train.”
“I can't I'm suppose to tie Miroku to me tonight, it's the full moon. But we're here because some other person on the God level is messing with the Gods and doing stuff that is not suppose to happen. Now I'm sitting here when I 2 hours my friend will be on a count down to the end of his life and he doesn't even know it.”
“Then you and Sesshomaru can fly back tonight and return tomorrow.”
“You and I both know he won't. This is what he loves. How can I ask him to not do it to help a person who he doesn't even know, a person I doubt he likes. And on top of that, they are Gods' know where in Endo.”
“They have returned to the castle. Jaken went to them worried about you. He wanted to help so he left shortly after Sesshomaru returned from the Gods errand.”
“I own him.” Kagome picked at the cabbage.
“When I was alive the first time, he was courting a woman, she died however in the raids that killed myself and many others. It would make him happy, I know she still watches over him.” The elder trailed off.
“Jaken had a girlfriend? Wow. That kind of a scary thought.”
“He is dedicated to the Lord because it means he doesn't have time to think about his lost love. The pond he goes to is where her body was buried.”
“Oh. Is she on the other side wanting to return?”
“I don't know, there are many that the Gods are allowing to return.”
“Like Kagura, Kohaku, and Inu Yasha's mother.”
“How did you know about Izayoi?”
“Some part of me knows that Inu Yasha's suffering is going to come to an end soon. The god's wouldn't be so cruel as to take me away from him and not replace me somehow. I am Kikyo's reincarnation so she can't come back or I won't exist. It's the only other person.”
“You are smart. The Gods are crafty people.”
“Will you take me back?”
“You can fly, can you not?” Finishing his own bowl of food Inu Tashio set it on the ground.
“Not that I know of, we know Sesshomaru gained my miko powers but we haven't had the time to see what I gained. Things have been busy as you know.”
“I know what you mean. Come, I will help you see what you have gained from my son.”
Kagome sat her half empty bowl down and stood.
Kagome followed Inu Tashio to the edge of the camp and turned to face her.
“First, you will need to fly, that is our most important goal right now. I want you to concentrate on just levitating right now.”
“Ok.” Kagome nodded and closed her eyes.
“Don't close your eyes, you can't fly if they are and you'll need to be able to this on a whim.”
Nodding again Kagome called her energy around her.
“Now you're going to need to temporarily cut the bond between you and the ground making it so that you're not drawn to the land.”
“Could I just force space in between me and the land?”
“It won't work, to fly like Sesshomaru or me you have to cut the tie with the ground, just putting space there is only going to make you stand on air, it won't give you the ability to levitate let alone fly.”
“I guess that would make sense.” Kagome began to focus again and smiled as she felt the ground disappear from under her feet.
“Now place a barrier.”
Kagome giggled with excitement as she floated.
“Alright, you have that done but can you move without falling?” There was something in his voice that held a hint of teasing.
Kagome thought about it and all the times she had flown with her mate and how he really didn't do anything physical to move he just seemed to concentrate. Thinking up she slowly ascended. Then with a mental picture of the camp in her head she created a path which her little orb traveled slowly ending with her back in the place she started.
“Very good, it took Sesshomaru weeks to figure it out. Now that you have it figured out try and keep up with me.”
Kagome let go on the power and felt the connection with the ground again. “I don't know if Sesshomaru would like me leaving camp without him with an army just over the horizon ready to attack.”
“Maybe your right, come let us talk to him.”
“No, I don't want to interrupt whatever he's doing. This is his happy time and I don't have the right to interfere.”
“You are his mate, he will stop to talk with you.”
“I'm not going, I pushed my limits just being here, im not going to ask to leave emergency or not.”
Inu Tashio let out a sigh. “Kagome..”
“What is it you wish to leave for Mate?” Sesshomaru's deep voice cut through whatever was about to be said.
Kagome let out squeak and spun to look at her Mate. “Sesshomaru. Don't scare me like that.”
“Hn. Tell me what is it that you wish to leave to do.”
“Tonight is the full moon, I have to take care of Miroku.”
“This one is aware. He has not forgotten. Is this one correct in his assumption you have been training?”
“Ya, your dad taught me how to fly like you do. He wasn't to race but I didn't want to interrupt your meeting to ask you if I could leave.”
“You have never asked my permission before so what is different?”
Kagome looked down at her feet. “You heard the conversation.”
“This one wants you to say it.”
Glaring at him Kagome growled. “Prideful bastard.”
“Pride has nothing to do with it.” Taking the last dozen or so measured steps Sesshomaru stood next to his mate.
“I pushed my luck being here now, we're at war. You would get angry if I ran off without telling you. Besides I'm pregnant with our pups, we have a family on the way, I'm not going to do something stupid.”
“It will be a first.” Sesshomaru teased. “I have prepared the army for battle, let us take our leave to tend your monk. You are in charge until my return, father.”
Inu Tashio gave a controlled nod and smiled. “It is a joyous event, our line will be strong again.”
“Hn.” Sesshomaru didn't say the rest of what he thinking but reached out to take Kagome's hand and leave.
Kagome took her mate's hand and let him pull her to him. They disappeared in a ball of light headed back to the castle.
