Chapter 4
Marking
Kagome and Sango were in the hot spring when Inuyasha, Shippo, and Miroku were talking.
“So, Inuyasha...did you claim Kagome yet?” Shippo asked knowing daemon's traditions. Miroku, who also knew of what Shippo was talking about, looked at Inuyasha.
He blushed, “Not yet,” he said slowly.
“What are you afraid of?” Shippo asked. Inuyasha wasn't afraid of anything. He just didn't want to hurt her, did he want her with his family's mark on her, the crescent moon.(like the one on Sesshormaru's forehead)
The girls came back not long after. Kagome sat down next to Inuyasha. “Is it okay for me to go home for a few days?” she asked.
“Why?” he asked.
“Well, you see. Mom, Sota, and grandpa will be leaving town and they need me to watch the house. You can come with me,” she blushed on the last part.
“Okay, we will leave tomorrow morning,” `Then I will have time to explain to her the mark and how I need to claim her,' he said to himself. At that moment Kagome laid her head down on his shoulder.
“Then when we come back we will take care of Naraku,” she whispered.
“Yeah,” he said taking in her scent that drove him wild.
The next morning Inuyasha and Kagome said goodbye to the others as they jumped threw the well and went 500 years into the future to Kagome's time. “They should be leaving in about an hour, then we will have the whole house to ourselves,” she said teasing him. He blushed at the comment.
Kagome's family soon left. “I am going to take a bath!” Kagome yelled into her room where Inuyasha was. `You have to tell her when she comes out of her bath,' he told himself.
Kagome walked into her room to find Inuyasha pacing around the room. “What is wrong?” she asked sitting on the corner of her bed.
“You're my mate, and daemons have to mark their mates to that no one else can take them.” Kagome nodded her head.
“You want to mark me?” she asked. `She doesn't seem bothered by the fact,' Inuyasha stated to himself.
“Yeah, I do,” he said looking on to the ground.
“Okay!” she said.
“Really?” he asked looking into her brown eyes.
“Yes, when I agreed to be your mate, I agreed to everything that came with it.” Inuyasha move over to her and started to kiss her. He laid her down on her bed. He had already picked the spot where he wanted the mark to be. He lifted up her shirt. He looked up at her, “Are you sure?” Kagome shook her head `yes.' “This may hurt a little,” he warned her. He placed his mouth at the spot he carefully chose. (Just so everyone knows, the mark is right by the where the hipbone is…) He took one of his fangs and bit into her soft, pink skin. Kagome flinched as he started to cut deeper. He curved the cut, at the same time letting her blood into his mouth. He then cut his own tongue and let his blood cover the crescent moon shape cut. As soon as his blood hit the mark, it stopped bleeding. He looked up at Kagome's eyes. “Done,” he whispered. He moved up to her head and started to kiss her. “Did it hurt?” he asked.
“Yeah, but not a lot. I didn't mind it,” she smiled. As she saw his mark on her stomach. “How am I going to explain this to my mom?” she asked. Inuyasha shrugged his shoulders.
“Now, no one can take you from me,” he said. “You are all mine.” Kagome giggled as he tickled her again.
“Inuyasha! Stop!” she cried.
“Why should I?” he asked.
“Because…I …can't...breath!” she exclaimed at her mate, who showed no sign of stopping.
“Yes you can other wise you wouldn't be talking,” he replied. But he stopped and let her up. “Tell me, when you had to stay away from me, did you really want me that bad?” she asked. His golden eyes narrowed at the question.
“Yeah, but whether I get you or not isn't up to me. It is up to my mate also,” he replied. She leaned forward and kissed him.
“Thank-you,” she said into his ears. She then reached up and started to play with them.
“Hey, stop that!” he said trying to pull her hands away. She laughed, “Why you don't like it?”
“I didn't say that,” he said.
“Then if you like it, why should I stop?”
“Uhh,” he couldn't think of an answer to give her. She laughed. “You haven't laughed like that in a long time,” he said. She slowly brought her hands down and made eye contact.
“You make me happy. When you were avoiding me, even though I knew the reason, it still made me sad. And before that, I wasn't sure if you loved me or Kikyou.”
“She is a thing of my past,” he gently said. “I have no feelings for her.”
Kagome's eyes shone, “Well, now that you aren't avoiding me, and marked me. I feel a new feeling. Of pride I think, and happiness.”
“Pride?” he asked.
“Yes, proud of being your mate, and that you chose me.”
“Oo,” he said slowly.
“Inuyasha?” she asked.
“Are you still going to use the jewel to become a full daemon?” she asked quietly.
“No, you love me as a half-daemon. I am staying the way I am.”
“Really?” she asked out of happiness. She jumped at Inuyasha knocking him to the floor with her in his arms.
