Inuyasha shifted in his bed, sniffing nosily as he wrinkled his nose. Eyes still closed, he wiggled his nose as something brushed against it. Groaning softly, he wiggled his hand free of the covers to remove the offending object. Stretching his arm out, he let it drop, provoking a soft moan beside him. Soft, he thought, still mostly asleep. He squeezed his hand gently, trying to figure out what he was touching. Eyes opening, his vision was clouded by a mass of black hair.

“Nnn… Not there,” the voice moaned as the intruder turned its head. He shot up in bed, pulling his hand from the slumbering woman's breast as though it had suddenly turned to fire. Heart still racing, he pressed his hand against his chest, taking deep breaths to slow his breathing. Sighing, he looked down at his still sleeping sister, her mouth slightly agape as her chest rose and fell slowly.

“God, you really need to stop doing this,” Inuyasha mumbled, gently shaking her shoulder. “Oy, Kagome, wake up.” After a deep breath, she looked up at him with half open eyes.

“Morning Inuyasha,” she said softly as she stretched out.

“I'm going to have to start locking my door. I think you're a little too old to be sleepwalking.” For as long as he could remember, Kagome always had the bad habit of leaving her room to sleep in his bed. While it had been fine growing up, it was going a little far now that they were both seventeen.

“Come on, up and out with you,” he said, gently pushing her. She groaned loudly as she rolled over, pulling the covers over her head.

“Five more minutes,” she mumbled. Sighing, Inuyasha shook his head. It wasn't that he hated waking up next to her in the morning, it was the exact opposite. He liked it far too much to be considered natural. He had always been greatly disturbed by his feelings for his twin sister ever since they began to surface two years ago. At first, he had blamed them on run away hormones. Around that time, he was attracted to just about anything with breasts. However, as his emotions and urges began to stabilize, those he felt for his sister not only stayed, but increased.

“No, now,” he said, pushing her harder this time. Their relationship had changed drastically over the past two years. They used to be inseparable and did everything together. These days however, it seemed everything he did was to push her away and limit his contact with her. He often found himself thinking things that seriously frightened him. It was getting to the point where he no longer trusted himself alone with her. The last thing he wanted was doing something he would forever regret.

Groaning, Kagome kicked her feet out from under the covers and rolled to a sitting position. “Fine, fine,” she grumbled as she got to her feet, stretching. Inuyasha nearly fell over when he saw that she was wearing only a shirt and panties with the shirt stopping at her waist.

“God, and get dressed,” he said, trying his best to sound disgusted. “At least come in with some pants on or something.” Looking over her shoulder, she stuck her tongue out at him. She looked ridiculous with strands of her long black hair sticking up messily. Without a word, she left his room, closing the door behind her. Heart still racing, he rushed forward, locking his door before returning to his bed, tissues in hand. The image still fresh in his mind, he closed his eyes, letting his hand work. It didn't take long. With her in his mind, it never did. Gasping, his body quivered. The feeling didn't last long however as guilt and regret washed over him. Throwing the dirty tissues in the small waste basket, Inuyasha, depressed, began getting ready for school.

“God, I need to get laid,” Miroku said as he rotated the magazine and let the centerfold drop out. Eyes widening, a smile crept across his face as he stared. “Not bad.” He looked over at Inuyasha who poked at his lunch with his chopsticks. “You want to look?”

“Hmm?” he asked, looking over at his friend. Seeing what he was offering, he shook his head. “Ah, no thanks.”

“Oh yeah,” Miroku said, putting the magazine back together before turning to the next page. “I forgot that you're not much of an Aiko. I don't see why. She's got great big b—”

“What's this?” a familiar voice called out. Looking over, both watched as Sango walked across the rooftop towards where they were both sitting, Kagome and Kikyo close behind. Quickly, Miroku shoved the adult magazine behind him.

“Nothing,” Miroku said quickly, smiling up as she approached him. “Good weather today, isn't it?” Sango didn't look impressed. Holding out her hand, she wiggled her fingers as she looked down at him expectantly. When he didn't move, she shifted her weight to one leg.

“Either you give it to me, or I tell a teacher and they take it from you.” Groaning, he reached back and reluctantly placed the magazine in her hand. A look of disgust on her face as she glanced at the cover, she quickly rolled it up, hitting him on the back of the head before taking a seat next to him.

“You owe me ten bucks,” he mumbled, rubbing his head.

“Hmm, what was that?” she asked, looking innocently over at him, a smile on her face. Inuyasha wasn't sure what it was about it, but that smile made even his blood freeze.

“Nothing,” he said before shoving food in his mouth. Kagome laughed as she sat next to Inuyasha, accidentally brushing against him. Coughing, he scooted farther away from her. For a brief moment, he thought he saw a hurt look appear on her face. If there was, it was gone now as she began talking with Sango and Kikyo about morning classes.

“Really, Yoshida-sensei is such an ass! I swear we never went over some of those questions on that pop quiz today,” she said, unwrapping her lunch.

“You got that feeling too? Good, I thought I was the only one,” Sango said, picking at her lunch.

“Yeah, I did badly on that quiz too,” Miroku said nodding.

“Well there's a surprise. No one really cares about what you got,” Sango said, rolling her eyes.

“That hurts you know,” Miroku said, causing a ripple of laughter from the others. It wouldn't have been so funny had he not had such a serious face. Turning to Inuyasha, he glared at him. “Yeah, like you have room to talk.” Inuyasha stopped laughing suddenly.

“I don't see why,” Kagome said, leaning against him as she peaked into his lunchbox. Smiling, she grabbed his egg he had been saving and shoved it in her mouth before he could shrug her off. “We've been studying together,” she said, slightly muffled by her full mouth.

“Oy! What the hell!” he said, reaching over to steal her egg. She expected it however and quickly smashed herself against Kikyo, trying to keep her lunch out of his reach, giggling loudly. Miroku glanced over at Sango's lunch. Of course, it was much better than the plain rice he had. Slowly, he reached over only to have Sango glare at him.

“I swear to God, you touch my food and the next seven seconds of your life will be you hitting the ground below.” Instantly, his hand was back over his lunch, head down.

“You can have some of mine,” Kikyo said, smiling as she held out her lunch. Like Sango's it was filled with variety.

“Really!?” Miroku said, perking up. “Don't mind if I d—” He froze as he reached out to the offered lunch. Smiling nervously, he slowly withdrew under Sango's gaze. “N-never mind.”

“Something happen?” Kagome asked, looking over at Sango. “You seem a little more… tense when it comes to Miroku today.”

“Yes, well, ask him,” she said, nodding in Miroku's direction.

Leaning over towards Inuyasha, Miroku cupped his hand so that only he could hear. “It's that time of the month.” Snickering, they both tried to hold in their laughter. Miroku stopped when Sango's elbow caught him in the midsection.

“I heard that.”

“Really Miroku, that's rude,” Kagome said, giving him a disapproving glare. “And you don't need to encourage him,” she said aiming her gaze at Inuyasha. Throat tightening, he nodded, picking at his food. She frowned as she leaned closer, nudging him lightly as the other three continued talking. “Hey, something wrong?” she whispered.

He quickly shook his head. “No, I'm fine. W-why do you ask?” he said, smiling awkwardly.

She shrugged. “I don't know, I just get a… feeling, you know?” She shrugged again, this time she smiled. “Maybe it's one of those twin moments. You know, when one hits their head, the others head starts hurting too.”

“I think that only happens with identical twins,” Miroku said nodding. “I don't know a pair of twins who looks and acts more different than the two of you.”

“What do you mean by that?” Kagome asked with a confused smile on her face.

“Well, I mean, Kagome's super smart, popular and beautiful and Inuyasha is, well, Inuyasha.”

“Thanks,” Inuyasha said with a frown as Sango cleared her throat in warning.

“Oh, not as beautiful as you my dear,” Miroku said quickly smiling in her direction.

“Miroku, I think you're the second guy in the world I don't want to hear that from,” Kagome said, giggling.

“Second?”

“Yeah, there's always Inuyasha.” As the girls laughed, Inuyasha retreated into himself. While it was obviously said as a joke, it hurt him and hearing it from Kagome of all people made the pain even more real. To him, she was beautiful, so much so, it was unbearable. He knew his feelings were wrong, but he couldn't stop them any more than he could stop breathing. Being constantly reminded about how disgusting his feelings were to the world didn't help his self-esteem.

“Inuyasha?” she asked as he stood up, closing his lunchbox. He didn't look at her as he grabbed his books.

“Sorry, I have to do something before lunch ends,” he said as he started to move towards the door to the stairs. Just before he left hearing range, he thought he heard Kagome say, `I was only joking.' As the door closed behind him, he leaned against it, banging his head against the metal. Damn it, he thought, clutching his chest. He wanted nothing more than to rip the ache from his chest, throwing the feelings away as quickly as Sango had liberated Miroku from his magazine. But unlike that magazine, Inuyasha was stuck with what he had. He only hoped he could continue to live with it.

********************************************

“What's wrong?” Sango asked, giving Kagome a concerned look. Looking up, she realized that she had been staring at the ground. Smiling, she ran a hand through her hair, pushing it back.

“Oh, nothing, I was just thinking, sorry.”

“You've been kind of out of it all afternoon.”

“I have?” Kagome chuckled. “Guess that pop quiz angered me more than I thought it did. What a crappy start to the week.” Sango frowned.

“You are a terrible liar, you know that? You going to tell me what's really bothering you?” She looked around to make sure no one was listening in. It was one of the rare days when they were alone. Both the boys had stayed behind to go to the weekly anime club meeting and Kikyo was staying after for something as well. Satisfied no one was close enough to hear them, she continued. “I have a pretty good idea of what it is already.” Kagome sighed. I might as well.

“It's Inuyasha,” she said. Sango nodded.

“I figured it was. I don't know what his issue was at lunch.” Kagome shook her head.

“It's not just that. It's a home too.” She gently bit at her lower lip. “I think he hates me now.”

“Hates you? I highly doubt that. You haven't done anything for him to hate you.”

“He goes through great lengths to avoid me though.” Sango frowned as she tapped her chin in thought.

“Maybe he's jealous?”

“Jealous? Of what?”

“I don't know… How are things with Kouga?” Kagome blinked, slightly surprised at the sudden twist in conversation. Blushing, she looked away, a smile on her face.

“Good.”

“Good? I suspect there's more to it then you're telling me.” Before she could press any more, Kagome quickly changed the subject.

“What about you and Miroku? Something had to have happened over the weekend for you to be so angry with him today.” Sango's face darkened.

“Yes, well…” She didn't continue, obviously brooding about something.

“You tell me about that and I'll tell you about Kouga,” Kagome said. She waited while Sango thought it over. Sighing, she nodded.

“I caught him.”

“Caught him? Cheating?!” she asked, eyes widening.

“No, no, nothing like that,” Sango said quickly. “I don't think there is a girl in school who would go out with that letch…” She paused for a second. “It makes me wonder why I am…” Before she could steer away from what she said earlier, Kagome brought the conversation back on track.

“So what did you catch him doing?”

“It wasn't so much as doing… I guess I better start from the beginning. I was over at Miroku's place.”

“Uh huh,” Kagome said, nodding as she listened.

“Things were going…well…” She blushed. “I had decided.” It took a second for Kagome to decode what she was saying. Kagome's face turned pink as Sango's blush deepened.

“You mean… you two…” Kagome stopped, unable to continue. Sango nodded.

“Or at least, I had planned too.”

“So what happened?”

“We were… getting ready… While I was on the bed, I reached up and accidentally went under his pillow.”

“And?”

“Pictures.”

“Pictures?” Kagome repeated. Sango nodded as she looked straight ahead.

“There were a couple of pictures from some girls in the tennis club. You know, the behind-the-bushes stalker type pictures?”

“So what did you do?”

“I confronted him about it of course.”

“And he said?”
“Inuyasha left him over at his house.” Kagome shook her head. Miroku was as bad a liar as Inuyasha. She knew Inuyasha could like some weird things, the fact that he hung out with Miroku and the other guys from the anime club was proof enough. However, she couldn't see her brother as being the stalker kind of guy. “Yeah, obviously a lie,” Sango continued. “So I looked around his room.” She stopped, obviously fuming. “I found… lots of things.” Kagome's eyebrows rose in interest. Though she was pretty sure she would regret asking, her curiosity got the best of her.

“Like what?”

“More pictures of girls. I think you were the only one he didn't have pictures of.”

“Thank God for small favors.” Kagome really didn't know how she would react to him having pictures of her. Something I'm perfectly fine with never knowing.

“Yeah, turns out he had been buying them from some of the photography club members. Now we know how they do so well on the puny school funding they get. I also found tons of magazines, movies, and some of those dating games, you know right?” Kagome nodded. Though she wouldn't admit it to Sango, Inuyasha had a couple of them as well. She had accidentally discovered the game boxes along with two magazines and three DVD's when she was trying to find some things he had borrowed from her. Since then, she had never searched his room again. However, it didn't stop her from looking through it… She knew it was wrong, but she had always been curious about what her brother was into. To this day, she was positive he didn't know she had seen it.

“And he let you search like this?”

“Of course not, but there wasn't anything he could do.” Kagome had a mental image of Miroku cowering before a furious Sango. Kagome knew Sango was a force to be reckoned with when angry. She actually almost felt sorry for Miroku. Almost. Kagome chuckled. “It's not really funny.”

“But, I mean, did we really expect anything less of him? He lives alone and his parents send him an obscene allowance every week. Where did you really expect that perverts spending money to go to?”

“It wasn't so much the amount as to the content.”

“Oh God,” Kagome said, mouth wide in horror. “Don't tell me…”

Sango quickly shook her head, waving her hands. “No, no, no, it's nothing like that.” Kagome let out a small sigh. Miroku, while a weird and perverted guy, was still her friend. She would like to keep him as one. “It was…” She looked around again before leaning closer. “Gangbangs.”

Kagome frowned. “I thought you would say something worse.”

“Worse?! How much worse can you get?!” Kagome stayed silent. She could think of quite a few, but if she didn't know of stuff that was worse then that, Kagome sure as hell wasn't going to tell her. I was really expecting something worse. She remembered one of Inuyasha's DVD's was the same thing. While it wasn't something you would bring up in a normal conversation, or even an abnormal one, Kagome felt it was perfectly normal for the average male. It didn't mean she agreed with it, far from it. The idea disgusted her, but there were things that would always be out of her control. “I mean, do you know how much that degrades women?”

“I'm pretty sure all porn is that way.” Sango seemed a little shocked by her untroubled tone.

“Yeah, well, you try having a boyfriend who likes watching women service several guys at once.”

“Are you going to break up with him?”

“What? No of course not,” she said looking at the ground. “I wish I could but…”

“You love him.” Sango nodded.

“I don't even know why. I mean, he flirts with other girls, does all this weird stuff…”

“Love is like that.”

“Listen to us, we sound like old women,” Sango said. Both laughed as they walked. “So, now on to your part of the deal.”

“Damn, you remembered,” Kagome said, smiling.

“Of course, now spill it!”

“We had sex.”

“Woh!” Sango said, stopping. Kagome stopped and turned around to look at her friend.

“What?” she asked as she moved her school bag behind her, holding it with both hands.

“Just like that?” Kagome rolled her eyes.

“We've been dating for three months.”

“Miroku and I have been dating for almost a year and we just now decided to take our relationship to the next level.”

“No, I think you have decided. Miroku was ready from day one.”

“Still—”

“I love Kouga. I know it seems like we may be rushing the relationship, but I really do love him.”

“Sorry, I'm not trying to say you did anything wrong. If it sounds like that, it's only because I'm surprised. Kikyo I can see, but I really wasn't expecting to lose to you as well. I can't believe I'm going to be the last to lose my virginity.” Kagome smiled.

“I didn't know it was a race.”

“It's not, but still…” She shook her head. “So how was it? As great as we guessed it would be and more?” Kagome thought a moment before slowly nodding, face reddening.

“Yeah, I guess it was. It hurt more than I thought it would be, but other than that, it was good.”

“Well, even if it's bad, I hear the first time isn't that long anyway.” Kagome shook her head.

“It lasted awhile. I want to say at ten minutes but I wasn't exactly timing the thing.”

“Ten minutes?!”

“Un. My first time isn't a good base to go off of. He knew what he was doing, so it was a lot easier on me.”

“You serious? God Kagome, don't drop so many bombshells on me at once!” Kagome's face was beet red.

“It's really not big of a deal, okay? I shouldn't even be telling you all this!” Spinning, she quickly continued on towards her house, letting Sango catch up to her.

“Oh no, you're not running from me! Spit it out, how many?”

“Sango! I didn't ask that! That's rude and frankly, none of my business.” Sango stared at her. Shifting uneasily, Kagome once again was a victim to Sango's interrogation glare. “Two, okay?”

“Wow, and you still went forward with it? You were always saying your first time would be with another virgin.” Kagome shrugged.

“Things change. I can't help who I fall in love with, right?”

“I guess so…” Sango sighed. “So I wonder what my first time will be like…”

“Don't worry about it so much,” Kagome said, moving her bag around to the front. “It's much better the second time.”

“Second time? How long ago was this?”

“Three weeks ago.”

“And I'm just now finding out about this?!”

“Sorry I don't announce my sex life to the world.”

“Still, I'm your best friend, we share everything!”

“I know, and I'm telling you now…” Kagome smiled over at her friend, watching as her angry face slowly melted away. Sighing, Sango nodded.

“Fine, fine, I guess its okay.” She paused briefly. “So, how many times have you done it?”

“Secret.”

“Gah! You're killing me Kagome!” Kagome smiled as they reached the point where they spit up. Walking backwards, she called back to Sango.

“When you and Miroku finally get around to making up, I'm sure you'll have tons of stuff to share. Maybe then we can continue this conversation.” Turning, she quickly ran off down her street, her stomach fluttering as she suddenly felt the desire to call Kouga.

Inuyasha looked down at his food, picking at it with his chopsticks. Every once in awhile, he would pick up a piece of the fish and eat it.

“Inuyasha, is everything okay honey?” his mom asked, causing him to look up.

“Hmm? Yeah, everything's fine,” he said, smiling as he took another bite of the fish. He hated lying. Nothing was fine, not as long as he was trapped in this house. This house wasn't his home, it was his hell. It tortured him, keeping Kagome close and making it so he was unable to free himself from her.

“If you don't like it, I can fix you something else,” she continued with a concerned look on her face.

“No, it's not that. I'm just not hungry today.” Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Kagome looking at him, her face nearly identical to their mother.

“You should eat up, you're still a growing boy,” his father said.

“I'm not going to starve missing one meal.”

“You didn't eat most of your lunch either,” Kagome said.

“Really, now! Inuyasha, you need to eat!”

“I said I'm fine!”

“Bu—”

“I'm fine!” he shouted, slamming his chopsticks against the table. The three looked at him, surprised. It was as if they were looking at him like they had never seen him before. In a way, he was different. He rarely raised his voice like that. “Sorry,” he said, looking down. “I'm finished, thank you for the meal.” No one said anything as he stood or walked out of the room. They were still too shocked from the sudden outburst.

Closing the door to his room, he quickly moved over to his bed and fell back on it. Damn it! Each day, he pressed on; trying to make the most of it, yet each passing day seemed only to get worse than the one before. He often heard people describing God as an all powerful being, who was kind, loving and the creator of all things. He didn't know who they were talking about because the God he knew was far different. Only someone with a cold, twisted and cruel sense of humor would create a pair of twins and have one fall in love with the other. The only excuse he could think of was that he did something terrible in his past life and is now being punished for it. He chuckled to himself as he rested an arm over his eyes as he closed them. That theory certainly made sense as this place was hell enough.

There was a soft knock at the door, snapping out of his reverie. Hearing the door opened, he remained motionless, making no effort to see who had just entered his room. “You sure you're okay? Mom and Dad are worried,” Kagome asked in a low voice.

“Yeah, I'm fine, don't worry about it.”

“But I do worry.” There was a brief pause. “You've been acting strange recently,” she continued, her voice even lower than before. “It almost feels like you're trying to avoid me.” Because I am, he thought. Of course, he would never say it. Instead, he buried the thought inside his mind.

“I don't know what you're talking about. I'm the same as usual. Today is just one of those days where I don't feel too well.”

While it didn't look like she believed him, she didn't say anything about it. Instead, she only nodded. “Okay, if you say so. Just…” She took a deep breath. “If something is bothering you, please don't keep it to yourself. I'm always here if you need to talk.”

“I know,” he said, not moving. How the hell can I talk about this? “Thank you,” he added before she could say anything.

“Sure thing,” she said, a little happier now. “That's what big sisters are for, isn't it?” She waited to see if he would say anything and when it became obvious he wasn't going to say anything, she shut the door softly behind her. He sighed. Yeah, sisters

Inuyasha knew that his remaining sanity was running out. This week was particularly hard and for no apparent reason. Content wise, it was near identical to the week before. It should have been the same routine: wake up, go to school, listen and complain about schoolwork and teachers at lunch with the others, hang out with Miroku after school, head home for dinner, homework and TV, go to sleep and repeat.

He knew it would happen sooner or later. The guilt that had steadily been building was now pulling him down. He had masturbated to images of Kagome far too many times for his conscious to bear and now, he was feeling the cracks as he began to break.

It wasn't something he wanted to do. He had been putting it off for a long time, hoping he would discover some way to cure his feelings or if not that, at least find a way to cope with them. This week had proven to him that it was impossible. His feelings for Kagome had turned into an obsession; he needed to save himself before he did something he would truly hate himself for.

Inuyasha had never been to the school counselor before, but he could see why so many students went to him. In his late fifties, the balding man was all smiles. No matter what problems you had, just being in his presence made you feel a little better. Just his entire personality made him seem like a man who you could share anything to without fear of being judged.

As Inuyasha entered the well decorated, homey office, the man stood, gesturing to the seat across the desk from him. “Please, come in and take a seat,” he said with a smile, his voice gentle. “And close the door behind you.”

Inuyasha obeyed, slowly closing the door before traversing the room to take a seat. As he did, the counselor did the same. Terrance Oliver, Inuyasha thought as he read the name plate at the front of his desk. If I remember correctly, he was born in the US…

Clearing his throat, Terrance scooted towards his desk, opening a file. Running his tongue slowly across his upper lip, he scanned the contents before suddenly looking up, giving Inuyasha a smile. “So, what can I do for you today Inuyasha?” He folded his hands together, placing them on the desk as he gave Inuyasha his full attention.

Taking a deep breath, Inuyasha looked down at his lap, suddenly nervous. “I uh… wanted to talk about college options for me.”

“Of course,” Terrance said, looking back down at the file. “I see here that you were looking at some local schools—”

“I want to go overseas,” Inuyasha said suddenly. Terrance blinked as he looked up, surprised at the sudden outburst. “Sorry,” Inuyasha said, embarrassed.

“No, no, don't be,” the man said, waving it off. “I was just surprised. So, what made you decide to go overseas for college?”

“I,” Inuyasha paused. I really should have thought of a better excuse than `because I want too.' “I just thought that it would be good to see the world and experience some different cultures.”

Terrance nodded thoughtfully before slowly closing the file. Taking a deep breath, it was obvious that he was choosing his words carefully. “Inuyasha, I know this is the first time we have spoken, but this isn't the first time I have looked through your file. I actually wanted to talk to you.”

“Y-you did? What for?” he asked, shifting anxiously in his seat. For some illogical reason, a sudden fear that Terrance knew about his feelings gripped him. He could feel himself begin to sweat as he gripped the armrests of his chair. Impossible… he doesn't know… he can't know!

“It's about your grades.” Inuyasha visibly relaxed, letting his held breath go slowly. Terrance opened the folder once more and gestured to something on it. “From what I can see, you are just an average, borderline C student.”

“Um, is that what you wanted to talk to me about? You want me to try harder?”

Terrance folded his hands, looking back at Inuyasha. “No, what I want to know is why you are answering your tests wrong.”

“I… don't understand.”

“I must admit, Kudo-sensei almost missed it completely, but there is a pattern to your tests.” Picking up the folder, he handed it to Inuyasha, letting him read it. “Kudo-sensei is a wonderful guy. He went through all the trouble of looking up your scores for the other teachers as well as your scores in previous years.”

Glancing over the writing, he could see, very easily, what Terrance was talking about. Spelled out was a very clear testing pattern. It was noted that he always had two bad tests scoring around the same followed by a decent one to balance him at a C grade when homework was factored in. While he could have passed it off as coincidence most of the time, the simple fact that it repeated identically for his other classes and in previous grades as well made it impossible now.

“So what I want to know now is why you are holding yourself back.”

Inuyasha didn't say anything immediately, handing the folder back. It wasn't that he was holding himself back, it's just he didn't want to stand out. It was true that he always answered questions wrong to purposefully manipulate his grade. At first, it was for the simple reason that people wouldn't bug him about helping them with homework or to study when he got lower grades. Then, it slowly became his selfish way of getting Kagome's attention. When it came to school work, she would spend hours tutoring him if need be, the look on her face a priceless treasure to him each time he showed her the B he just managed to achieve.

When he didn't say anything, Terrance leaned forward. “You know what grade I think I should be seeing here?” he asked, tapping the folder. “Straight A's. In my experience, I've met many students who purposefully get lower grades. Many of them do it just because they think they are rebelling from the system, others, just because they feel like it. But you… I think you are very different from them. I think there is something more up here than your average bear,” he said, tapping his temple. Inuyasha blinked, completely lost at where the bear came into things. Must be an American thing…

“I really don't know what you are talking about.”

“Okay, I'm going to ask you a question. I don't want you to think about it, just tell me the first thing that pops into your mind.”

“Uh… Okay.”

“63 times 986 divided by 39.8 to 4 decimal places.”

“1,560.7538 rounded,” Inuyasha answered automatically. Terrance sat back in his chair, a thin smile on his face. “I… How did you know I was good with math?”

“Honestly? I guessed. Since your grade percentages are near identical, I had a hunch.” He leaned forward. “I'm guessing you haven't told anyone?”

Inuyasha shook his head. He didn't say anything, but math wasn't the only thing he was good at. Memorizing things was fairly easy to him as well. Being book smart was something Inuyasha felt he could live without. It seemed to him that since his brain was wired for academics, it had little room to spare for social dealings.

“Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Everything that we talk about in here is private. I'm sure you have your reasons.”

“Thank you.”

“However, I will offer my advice, advice I hope you take.” Inuyasha looked up. “I have a friend who works at a very prestigious college in America who would be very interested in speaking to you…”

Kagome let out a small whimper, wrapping her arms around Kouga's neck as he continued bucking his hips in steady movements. Sweat beaded on his forehead as he stared down at her. The room was silent minus the faint sounds of their heavy breathing and the soft squeak of the bed under them. Above her, Kouga grunted quietly as he suddenly increased his pace. She bit her lower lip to keep from calling out as she felt herself quickly reaching climax. A little bit, more, just a little more!

With a loud gasp, Kouga thrust into her one final time, his mouth an O shape as he came. She could feel him throb inside her as he shivered atop her. While she was happy, she couldn't help but be slightly disappointed. At first, Kouga had been able to get her to cum easily, but now…

Pulling out of her, careful to keep the condom on, Kouga smiled down at her. She automatically smiled back. His smile faded quickly. “Is something wrong?”

“Huh? Why do you say that?”

“You look… unhappy.” Did it show on my face? She quickly shook her head.

“Of course not, I'm very happy right now.” She pulled him down as she leaned up, kissing his lips gently. “Very happy,” she said with a smile. He still didn't look convinced.

“You didn't seem too into it though.” Kagome sighed, laying back against the bed. Kouga quickly disposed of the used condom before turning his attention back to her. “Come on, talk to me. I'll do whatever I can to help you, you know that.”

“I know, and thank you. I really don't think you can help me with this though.”

“Try me, you never know. Just talking about it with someone does a lot.” Kagome nodded. Why not?

“Okay then,” she started. Kouga laid down on his side beside her, a serious look on his face. “It's about Inuyasha.”

“Your brother? What's wrong with him?”

“That's what I'm so worried about. He's been visibly depressed this entire week. I don't know why. He won't talk about it with me. In fact, he seems to be avoiding me.”

“Maybe he just needs some space, you know? Some time to himself?” Kagome shook her head.

“No, there is something wrong, I can tell.” His eyebrows rose in interest.

“Another twin feeling?” he asked with a smile. She frowned. It was obvious he was making fun of all the times she had said it.

“That's for identical twins. We don't have anything like that,” she said softly. He shrugged.

“I don't know about that. You two are pretty close.” He shifted uncomfortably. “A little too close,” he mumbled. Kagome blinked at him, surprised.

“What's that supposed to mean?”

“Well, I mean, you two do a lot of things together…”

“He's my brother. I've lived with him all my life. Of course we do a lot of things together.”

“I don't mean it like that. It's just… Okay, you know that time you invited me to go with your family to that water park?” Kagome smiled, remembering back to when they had just started dating.

“Of course, how could I forget?”

“I got some really creepy vibes from your brother.” The smile on Kagome's face slowly faded. She knew her brother had his moments of weirdness, but he had always been a little awkward socially, especially to new people.

“Creepy vibes?”

“Yeah, like, he was always staring at you when you weren't looking. It wasn't just the `keeping an eye out on my sister with the new guy' look either. It was something else.”

“So what was it then?” Kagome asked, an edge to her voice. She couldn't help but get a little defensive when it came to her `younger' brother. Being somewhat shy, they had grown up with her taking the protector role though it had been quite some time since she actually had to stand up for him. Now, he always seemed to keep to himself and keep out of everyone's way. It worried her that he only had only one male friend, Sango and Kikyo being more of her friends than his.

Kouga licked his lips, anxiety radiating from him. “I think he might love you.”

“Of course he does. I'm his sister.”

“I'm not talking about that way… I'm talking about how I love you.” Kagome gave him a look of disgust.

“Do you even know what you're saying? How can you even suggest something like that? It's disgusting!”

“I'm just saying, that's what it looks like,” Kouga said as she rolled off the bed and got to her feet.

“I don't see why you are like this. Are you even listening to yourself? What you're saying is impossible!”

“Is it?” Kouga said, sitting up. “You may not notice it since you're so close, but that wasn't the only time I've seen it either. I see it all the time when I come over.”

“I can't believe this. It sounds like you're jealous of my brother,” she said, turning around, placing her hands on her hips. For a second, he didn't say anything as his eyes wandered from her face down her body. His limp cock began to stiffen slowly. She sighed, letting the tension leave her body. She moved back towards the bed, smiling down at him as she leaned towards him. “Listen, even if, by some weird cosmic joke, what you are saying is true, nothing will happen. He's my brother and you are my wonderful, sexy boyfriend who I love very much.” She kissed him gently on the lips. Several seconds passed before she broke it, a seductive smile on her face. “Now, how much time is left on the room?”

A wolfish smile spread across his face as he stiffened to his full length. “More than enough.”

Taking several deep breaths, Kagome stood at the front door of her house, trying to catch her breath. Stupid Kouga… I told him a third time was pushing it! Because they had spent too much time in the hotel, they missed the last train, forcing her to make a very long run home. Luckily, it was a cool night so she wasn't sweating too badly.

Straightening her clothes, Kagome opened the door, stepping inside. “I'm back!” she called into the house as she took off her shoes and quickly moved towards the stairs.

“Ah, Kagome!” her mother called, catching her at the base of the stairway. “You're late.”

“S-sorry, I—”

Her mother waved the excuse off. “Next time, just call if you are going to be late, okay? Your father and I were worried.”

Kagome blinked, surprised at how easily her mother let the issue drop. Usually, she would have had a long lecture. Does she know? The idea of her parents knowing she was sexually active brought a looming feeling of dread. Knowing her parents, they would be okay with it so long as she protected herself, which she did, but the simple fact that they knew was unsettling.

“I-is that all?” she asked, still trying to recover from the shock of not getting a lecture.

“Your father and I are going up to grandfather's for the weekend. He fell again. Damn stubborn fool was climbing around on the roof. Honestly… doesn't the man know his age?”

“My God, is he okay?” Kagome asked, holding a hand over her mouth.

“Oh yes, he didn't fall from the roof. He was on the second step of the ladder. It was only a bruise, but still, we are going up to see him.”

“Well Inuyasha and I—”

“No, I won't force you two to tag along with us. What you two can do is give us a list of what you want for your birthdays. Since we are going to be up there, we can get you something nice for your eighteenth birthdays.” Kagome smiled. She had nearly forgotten that her birthday was this coming Friday. I'll have to go shopping for Inuyasha's present this weekend.

“Okay, I'll remind Inuyasha later.”

“Speaking of Inuyasha… did he tell you what he was going to do after school?” Kagome frowned.

“After school? You mean he hasn't come home yet?” Her mother shook her head, looking over at the door worriedly.

“He's never been this late before, at least, not without calling first… I tried his cell phone… I hope nothing's happened to him…”

“Don't worry; knowing Inuyasha, he's probably out with Miroku playing video games or some other pointless thing.”

“You think you could call Miroku? I just want to make sure…”

“Yeah sure, no problem.” Her mother smiled.

“Well, let me know if you get a hold of him.”

Kagome watched as her mom retreated back down the hall before hurrying up the stairs. God Inuyasha, what the hell is wrong with you? Pulling out her cell phone, she pressed the speed dial for Miroku. Two rings and his sleepy voice answered.

“Kagome?”

“Yo, is my stupid brother over there?”

“Inuyasha? Here? You mean he hasn't come home yet?” Fear gripped Kagome's stomach as she slowly sat down on her bed.

“He's not at your house?”

“No, he was staying behind today. He said something about seeing Terrance.”

“Terrance, you mean the guidance counselor?”

“Yep, he said he had something important to talk about with him.” Kagome looked over at the clock.

“Until one in the morning?”

“I don't know, he must have gone somewhere else. Maybe he has a secret girlfriend or something?”

“Miroku, this isn't the time for jokes. Something could have happened to him.” He let out a heavy sigh over the phone.

“Knowing Inuyasha, he's probably just walking around thinking about something. He's been acting kinda funny this past week.”

“You've noticed it too? Have any idea what it is?”
“Nope, no idea.” Kagome sighed, rubbing her forehead. Damn it Inuyasha… where are you?

“Well, if you hear from him, can you let me know? We are worried sick over here.”

“Yeah sure.”

“Thanks.”

Closing her cell phone, she automatically dialed Inuyasha's number, cursing when it went directly to voicemail. Tossing her phone towards her pillow, she laid back on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Reaching over, she grabbed her phone. Seconds before she went to call Sango, she heard noise from below. Moving to the door, she recognized Inuyasha's voice. Opening the door, she rushed out and down the stairs.

She found him in the living room; their father was yelling at Inuyasha about how stupid he was, not calling about what he was doing or that he would be late. It surprised Kagome. Their father was often as reserved as Inuyasha and seeing him yell was something she was not accustomed too.

Standing at the entrance to the living room, Kagome stood back and observed, not wanting to get involved. The last thing she wanted is her fathers' anger to find another outlet. After several minutes, their father finally finished, allowing Inuyasha to leave. Stepping out of the way, Inuyasha brushed past her, head down. Instantly, she fell into step behind him, following him up the stairs.

“Where were you?” she asked quietly.

“I went to talk to someone,” he answered softly, not looking at her.

“So I heard from Miroku. You went to see Terrance, right?” He stopped, almost causing her to run into him.

“He told you that?”

“Yeah, I called to ask if you were over there. We were really worried about you—”

“What else did he tell you?” Kagome unconsciously took a step back. His voice was sharp, demanding. It sounded like he was frightened. He quickly began moving towards his room.

“N-nothing else. Inuyasha…is there something I can do to help?” she asked from his doorway, unwilling to enter his room unless invited. It was obvious something was troubling him. She wanted nothing more than to help him work whatever it was out, but she knew that there was nothing she could do unless he took that first step and asked for help. At least he talked to Terrance… “You've been acting strange recently.”

To her dismay, he shook his head as his shoulders sagged. “I'm fine, really.” The fake smile returned to his face. She was sick of it. That seemed to be the only thing he wore these days.

“Right,” she said, shoulders slumping in defeat. “Well, I'm always here to talk if you need it.”

“Yeah, thanks Kagome.”

Slowly, Kagome closed the door to his room, gently placing her head against the wood. Stupid Inuyasha… Why can't you tell me what's wrong? Have we really grown that far apart? What really worried her was that they had…

Well, that is the first chapter. I hope everyone enjoyed it. I think I made Inuyasha a little too depressing… I don't know. It will get better though, I promise.

I've written several short stories so this isn't my first time writing something. It is my first time I've tried my hand at writing something with a controversial topic. I will do my best to keep things tasteful. Hope everyone sticks around for later chapters, that is, if people get past the corny title.

I will try to get the next chapter out soon. This is something I do for fun, so I can't guarantee any speedy releases.

Thank you again for reading, feel free to write a review about how I can improve or if you just want to say something about the story.

*Edit: Changed the last part of the chapter (where Kagome comes home late) a little to better align with what I want to do in chapter two. For anyone who is curious, main pairings will be Inu/Kag, Mir/San. Not saying that they will be the only ones though.
