Sango picked quietly at her food, her thoughts elsewhere. Like always, dinner was a noisy affair as five young boys fought one another over food. Not all of them were directly related to her. Her father had spent three years overseas overseeing a large government construction project in a less-fortunate country. When he returned, he brought four dirty, malnourished children of different ages with him. Surprisingly enough, her mother was more than welcoming to the new boys, and they swiftly became yet another part of the family.

And thus began the never-ending game of, `How far can we push Big Sis before she snaps?' game. After spending five years with them, she had come to love each and every one like her own family; which also meant she spent equal time wanting to strangle the life out of them.

“Ah! Hiro you bastard! That was mine!” Isao shouted as Hiro reached over and stole a piece of potato from his plate.

“Isao, language!” their mother said, glaring over at him. Hiro smiled over at his brother, chuckling victoriously. “As for you, eat what you have on your own plate first.” Unfortunately for Hiro, he was in his mothers reach as she gently smacked him on the back of the head. This time, it was Isao's turn to chuckle at his less fortunate brother.

“Shut up both of you, it's annoying,” Kohaku, the oldest of the boys, groaned, rubbing his temples.

“Ha-ha! Maybe you should eat your food faster if you don't want it stole from yo—AH!” The dishes clattered against the wood as their fathers' hand struck the table. Kenji's hand promptly returned back to his own plate with the spoils of victory: a piece of fried shrimp. “You sneaky little bastard, I was saving that for last!”

WACK! Unlike Hiro, their mother didn't spare any energy as her hand connected to the back of his head. “It's you who they pick up that foul language from.” Kohaku was the only boy at the table that didn't laugh at their fathers' misfortune. Kenji smiled, the remaining half of a fried shrimp jutting from his mouth as he chewed on it.

“Sango, dear, are you alright? You've barely touched your food.” Her mothers voice was gentle, an amazing change from the firm tone she had used with their father.

“Yeah Sis, if you don't want it I'll eat it!” Toru said, eyeing her plate with obvious greed. Sango didn't know how her mother did it. It seemed like nothing sated the stomachs of the boys. She fixed enough food for two dinners and it still disappeared with people complaining about hunger. Usually she helped her fix it, but since she had been over at Miroku's…

“Ah, I'm not too hungry right now,” she said; pushing her plate over towards Toru who quickly started stuffing his mouth as if afraid she would change her mind.

“Toru, slow down or you'll choke!” Her mothers' expression changed again as she focused back on Sango. “Are you sure? I can fix something else if you don't want that.”

“No, no, I already had dinner, remember?”

“Yeah, with her boy~friend~!” Kenji said, causing the other boys, Kohaku excluded, to giggle. He had always been the serious type.

“Now, now, don't tease your sister,” their mother said.

“Probably smooching!” Hiro snickered.

“Definitely smooching!” Isao added.

“Smooching~!” Kenji said, making a wet kissing sound with his mouth. Sango felt her face burn red.

“I'm finished,” she said, quickly standing up. As she closed the door to the dining area, she heard their mother scolding them. Sighing, she headed up to her room. One of the good things about being the only daughter, she had her own room, even if it was the smallest. Locking the door, she moved over to her bed and fell back onto it. Staring up at the ceiling, she let her mind roam, inevitably falling back to the earlier incident.

Thinking about it made her face hot as she turned onto her side, bringing her legs up to her chest. So many emotions ran through her, she didn't know what to feel. Fear, guilt, shame, anger, happiness were a few. She was happy Miroku had shown his more gentlemen-like side, yet angry at him for his insensitivity over the phone. He had brought her to a height of pleasure she hadn't experienced since she and Kagome—

She shook that thought from her head. There was enough to think about without digging that up again. Knowing he had brought her to orgasm, she felt miserable that she had left him without a release of his own. It was evident that his sole attention was on her and yet she had let him down. When he was using his hand, she had felt good, amazing in fact; almost to the point where she lost control of herself. Once they started the actual act… Did it feel good? It grew better as it went on, but something had just felt wrong, like something was missing. Do I really want to have sex with him? The thought worried her. If sex with Miroku would always feel like that, then the answer was no. Besides the empty feeling, Miroku wanted her to make noises, noises that she tried her hardest to suppress. Just the thought of her crying out in front of him made her body quiver in dread. She cared for Miroku deeply and felt a connection she had never experienced with any previous boyfriends. That was why, for the first time ever, she had attempted to move into a more physical, intimate relationship. After all, wasn't what people in love did?

Do I love Miroku? He was funny, perverted at times yes, but as she had seen his gentlemanly nature enough times to know that he was a good man who just let his thoughts run a little wilder than most. She concerned herself about him and how he was feeling. Going on dates, just hanging out, everything just worked. If she had to answer, the answer would be yes, she did love Miroku. Then why; why don't I feel comfortable around him when we are intimate?

When they had finally joined for the first time, instead of feeling comfort and security, she had felt panic and doubt. Something was missing from their relationship, something important. Or worse, she was being dragged down by something that didn't belong in their relationship.

Reaching up, she pulled her pillow down and clutched it to her chest. Gradually, she was beginning to come to terms with what had always been looming over her. It seemed as though no matter how much she wanted to bury it, the feelings she held were too large to ever be suppressed. If she wanted things to advance with Miroku, she needed to confront them. She hoped she could find the strength to do so before their connection collapsed.

Kagome was nowhere close to an orgasm when Kouga throbbed inside her; his hot liquid filling the condom. He looked exhausted as he gasped for air, blinking rapidly as his orgasm slowly faded. She stared up at him, concerned. Reaching up, she gently ran her hand across his tired face. Why am I so selfish? I knew he was busy yet I still forced him to come here with me… Well, she hadn't exactly forced him, but she had put a fair amount of pressure on him.

“Sorry,” she said softly.

“Sorry, why are you sorry? It should be me who is apologizing. You're nowhere close are you?”

She shook her head. “That doesn't matter. I knew that you were busy and I still forced you to come here with me. Just look at you, you're exhausted.” He moved back, pulling himself from her. Turning around, he quickly removed the condom and left the bed to dispose of it.

“Don't worry about it. I'm tougher than I look.” He smiled back at her as he flexed a little. Giggling, Kagome sat up, pulling her legs up to cover her bare chest as she wrapped her arms around them.

“So, what were you doing?”

Hesitating, he turned around with a large smile on his face. “Secret,” he said with a wink.

“Aw, come on! Don't be like that! Tell me!”

Moving back over to her, he pushed her back against the bed as he hovered over top of her. “Now, now, how could I possibly tell my precious princess where I was shopping for a birthday gift?” His lips met hers briefly before pulling away.

“Not even a little hint?” she said with a pout.

“Well, I was all over the place trying to find it…”

Smiling, she ran a finger along his chest. “Maybe I could make up for all the trouble…”

He let out a quick breath of air. “God, you sucked all the energy I had left in me.”

Lip out, she looked up at him. “All of it?”

“Completely dry,” he said, kissing her again.

“A pity,” she said, crawling out from under him. He sat back as she collected her clothing that was scattered around the room and began to redress.

“A pity?” he asked; a puzzled look on his face. “Why's that?”

Her face reddened as she quickly turned away so that he couldn't see how embarrassed she was. “I… would have… tried it…”

“Tried it?” He tilted his head to the side.

“M-m-my mouth…” Her face felt like it was on fire. Even though the thought of it repulsed her, she guessed she could try it at least once… He was silent, prompting her to turn around. Laughing, she stared at him as he sat back, trying frantically to regain his hardness. “What are you doing?”

“I'm sure I still have one more left...”

Laughing, she pulled her shirt back on. “We don't have time anyways,” she said, glancing at the clock. “You only paid for a half hour right?”

Sighing, he gave up. Moving off the bed, he slowly began to redress. Moving over to him, she kissed his cheek. “Don't worry,” she whispered in his ear. “I promise my birthday will be something to remember.”

“Really?” he asked, looking over at her. She nodded.

“Promise.”

He seemed to think about it for a moment before nodding, a lewd smile spreading across his face. “Good thing it's a Friday. When I'm done, you won't be able to get out of bed all weekend.”

“After the party,” she said, smiling. I think I'm more excited for that then I am for the gifts… I think I'll really let myself go… Maybe wear that sexy red pair I bought, that would really surprise him. She felt a tingle of excitement run through her body at the thought.

“After the party,” he agreed. Seeing that both of them were dressed and presentable, he headed toward the door. “Come on, I'll walk you home.” Taking his offered arm, Kagome leaned against him as they began the journey home.

********************************************

Inuyasha came home to find the house empty. Sighing in relief, he took the necklace case from his pocket, opening it to gaze upon the sparkling gems. Is it too much? Frowning, he closed the case. Ah, she is worth it. Heading up to his room, he stopped, trying to figure out where he should hide it. While he figured his room would be okay, Kagome did come in from time to time to borrow something. There was always a chance she could stumble on it. Chewing gently on his lower lip, he tried thinking of a place she wouldn't look.

Moving back downstairs, he headed to his parents room. If there was a place in the entire house that she had no chance of finding something, it was in their parents' room. Opening the door, he stuck his head in, looking around first before entering. Even though he knew his parents were gone, he felt nervous. For the most part, he avoided their room. It wasn't so much as he was forbidden to go inside, but they did make it clear that it wasn't going to end up a playground. Since he was always discouraged to go there as a child, the feeling stuck.

Looking around for a place to hide the case, he wandered over to the closet. Opening the door, he walked inside, looking at all the fancy clothing hanging. He had never seen them wear any of it, making him wonder if it was all from their days in America. The top shelf was completely packed with boxes. Frowning, he moved to the end of the closet and reached up, putting the case next to a white and yellow box. Slowly backing away, he eyed the hiding spot, trying to see that it was well covered. Satisfied that no one would find it but him, he headed out of their room, making sure to turn all the lights out and double checked to see if everything was in its right place.

With his task finished, he looked around, wondering what he should do with his free time. He didn't have any homework, so that wasn't an option. He also didn't want to be around Kagome alone and since he didn't know when either his parents or Kagome were going to be home TV wasn't an option.

Thinking of Kagome, he wondered where she had gone off to. Moving into the kitchen, he looked around for a note. Usually, she left a note telling where she was going and when she should be home. To his dismay, she didn't leave anything. He briefly entertained the thought of calling her, but decided against it, no matter how much he longed to hear her voice.

Moving upstairs, he closed the door to his room behind him as he looked around. Moving to his desk, he picked up his PSP, unplugging it from its charging cable and sitting back on his bed. Turning it on, he waited for the game to load up. Might as well try to finish this.

Five minutes in, he turned the game off, unable to get into it. Groaning, he fell back onto his bed, trying to figure out what would combat his boredom. It was rare that everyone in the house was gone. It was an eerie feeling being completely alone. Even just knowing someone else is here with you makes a lot of difference. Being alone like this… He froze. Alone…! His eyes fell on the box of tissues on his desk. He felt his throat tighten as he fought the rising desire. Knowing that he would ultimately lose to it, he fought it anyway. At least then, he could feel a little better.

Body possessed, he moved over to the box of tissues, grabbing them. Today, however, his mind had something far more devious in mind. That was how he found himself in front of Kagome's room, heart pounding against his chest. No! I can't do this! Not only is this entirely wrong, I don't know when she'll be back. Yet despite his mental protest, his body had been consumed by desire, moving him forward.

Taking a deep breath, he let the faint scent enter his nose. Drifting over to the dresser, he slowly slid the drawers open until he reached the second to last from the bottom. This is so wrong… Biting his lower lip, he eyed the neatly placed undergarments. Like he figured, they were, for the most part, plain. She doesn't have any need for sexy ones… right? He was about to slide it closed when something caught his eye. Reaching in, he moved them aside very carefully to not disturb the placement. Eyes widening, he stared at the thin red cloth in his hand, mouth agape. Kagome had something like this!? He couldn't stand the wait any longer, his erection painful against its prison. Putting the bra back, he closed the drawer. Moving over to her bed, he sat down. Leaning over so his head rested against her pillow, he took a deep breath; the smell of her surrounding him. Quickly, he worked his pants down and began pumping furiously, pulling the naked image of her into his mind. Already over stimulated from his recent discovery and being in a dangerous place, he erupted far quicker than he anticipated.

Fuck! He instantly had his pants up, the last few streams ending in his boxers. Standing, he looked down, cursing silently as he bit his finger, mind racing. In his excitement, he hadn't been ready for it. Now, he stared down in horror at the mess on the bed. It wasn't huge, but it was noticeable. I knew this was a bad idea… I KNEW it was. Fuck, fuck, FUCK! Using tissues, he tried his best to clean it up. Even still…

I'm fucked. He stared at the small spot in dismay, all his energy leaving him as his mind slowly conceded defeat. How could I be so stupid!? He had thought of a lot of situations where he would ultimately slip up and his forbidden feelings revealed, but this… this was something he had never even considered.

What possible excuse could sound even remotely plausible in this situation? The more he thought, the more doomed he felt. There isn't one. Suddenly, he felt calm wash over him. It was like a scene from a movie where the heroes love interest accepts their death and releases the heroes' hand, plummeting into the chasm below so to not drag the hero down with them.

Hope, I have to hold on to that remote possibility… He quickly ran into the bathroom, grabbing a towel and wetting it with water before running back, furiously wiping at the spot. For some reason, the old phrase `Things get worse before they get better,' ran through his mind. What a load of crap. I could use some better things right about now…

Kagome turned to face Kouga, smiling. Leaning in, they shared a brief kiss. “Thanks for today,” she said with a slight blush.

“No, I don't deserve it. Next time, I'll have you too tired to thank me,” he said with a grin. Smiling, she leaned in again, this time, sharing a much more passionate kiss.

“I'll hold you to that,” she whispered after the kiss was broken. “Love you.”

“Love you too,” he replied gently.

Blushing, she headed towards the door, fumbling to retrieve her keys. Finally unlocking it, she opened the door turning back to see Kouga smiling after her. “See you at school,” she said. He nodded and waved as she stepped inside, closing the door. Kagome took a deep breath. Things hadn't turned out exactly as planned. Instead of coming home in the satisfied, post-sex feeling, she felt wound up. Their lovemaking had been far too short and the foreplay near nonexistent, leaving her stimulated with no release. Maybe Inuyasha isn't home yet… She hadn't masturbated in a long while, but today was one of the rare days when she needed it.

Mumbling that she was home, she quickly took off her shoes, not bothering to put them away. Moving up the stairs, she stared down the hall at her brothers' room. The door was closed, but that didn't mean he wasn't home. For the most part, he always kept his door closed. Creeping up to it, careful not to make a sound, she leaned in against the wood, trying to make out any signs of life on the other side.

“Inuyasha, you home?” she asked softly, knocking on the door. She listened attentively for several seconds. When there was no answer, she let out a sigh of relief. While she doubted him being home would have stopped her, knowing that there wouldn't be a chance of anyone walking in on her was comforting. Walking in on her naked was one thing. Thinking back on the other day, she smiled in amusement. She wasn't too concerned with it. It wasn't like he hadn't seen a naked woman before. The look on his face was priceless though. She hadn't thought it was possible for him to make a face like he did, nor for him to move so quickly.

But had he walked in on her pleasuring herself… the thought mortified her. She didn't think she would ever be able to live down the embarrassment from that.

Closing her door, she made sure it was locked. Even though no one was home, it was an old habit. Taking a deep breath, she moved over to her bed and fell back on it, spreading her arms out. Frowning, she patted her bed, sitting up as she felt the damp spot on her bed. Looking up and around, she tried in vain to find the source of the wetness. Okay… Shrugging, she let it go. It was getting time to change her bed sheets anyway. Besides, she had more important things to focus on. The feeling of anticipation gripped at her stomach as she began unfastening her jeans…

Inuyasha knew of a few times where Hell had made its way onto Earth. One was when he had walked in on Kagome changing. The second: right now.

He had been expecting some sort of punishment for what he had just done, but nothing as cruel as this. In the quiet of his room, he could make out the faint moans of his sister from her room next to his. His original plan had to pretend to be busy playing his PSP, headphones on to listen to music. That way, he could play off that he didn't hear her due to the music. Never in his wildest dreams did he image this.

I'm in hell, I have to be… Even though he had just finished a session, his body was trying very hard to get ready again. He didn't want to listen to this, but yet he couldn't bring himself to actually turn on the music. Instead, he sat there, listening as he forced himself to sit on his hands, knowing it would end eventually.

Eight minutes later, it did. With a sharp cry, the room next to his fell silent. In the minutes that followed, his heart rate finally slowed to a normal pace. Closing his eyes, he bit his bottom lip. He wondered what would happen if he had barged in on her. Nothing I would like. Judging by how everything was spiraling down, he doubted he would be able to control himself in that situation. Hell, it was hard to control himself now. Time was running out. He was going to have to get out fast. The only question now was would he get out in time?

********************************************

Kagome lay naked on her bed for several minutes, relaxing in the glowing feeling of release. Doing this was a rare luxury for her, doing it naked even more so. Sighing, she finally decided that she needed to redress before Inuyasha got back.

Not wanting to get back into her jeans, she opted instead for a pair of sweats and a loose T-shirt. Stretching, she opened the door and froze, seeing Inuyasha walk out of his room. Instantly, her face was completely red. My God… Did he hear all that? Why didn't he answer when I knocked on his door? She had been louder than she had originally planned on also. For the moment, she wished she could bury herself under a rock or something and hide from the embarrassment.

Pushing the headphones down around his neck, Kagome could hear the blaring music from where she stood. Like always, he played his music too loud. Maybe...

“Hey Sis, when did you get home?” he asked, his PSP in hand.

“I… uh… little bit…” she stumbled. He blinked, cocking his head to the side.

“Something wrong? You look a bit red.”

“N-n-no! I was just… never mind. Why didn't you answer me when I knocked?” she demanded, suddenly angry. It didn't look like he had heard her, but she still felt embarrassed as hell. He seemed to back away from her at the anger in her voice.

“I was listening to music,” he said defensively, pointing to his headphones. “Why, you need me for something?”

“No!” she said, moving back into her room, closing the door a little harder than she intended. Sighing, she slowly slid her back against her door as she sat down, heart racing. So he definitely didn't hear me… Or did he and he is just trying to make me feel better by acting like he didn't? She pressed her hands against her burning cheeks. Just because she knew he did it didn't make it fair that he knew she did it as well. Ever since they were young, she had always tried to act as the proper role model for him behavior wise. That was one of the main reasons she kept her relationship with Kouga as quiet as she could so no questions would be raised.

She dreaded the idea of leaving her room now. Sighing, she decided to stay holed up in her room. It was better than another accidental run-in with Inuyasha. Bringing her legs to her chest, she wished their parents would get home soon.

“You know why Tuesday sucks?” Miroku asked, squatting down as he tore open his bag of bread.

“Because it's the day you ask stupid questions?” Sango asked as she opened her lunch. Glaring over at her, Miroku continued.

“No… They always run out of bread at the store.”

“Then how did you get that?” Sango asked, nodding to the bread in his hand.

“I have my ways…” he said with a smile.

“I bet he bribed someone with one of his dirty magazines,” Kikyo said before taking a bite of her lunch.

“I would never—!”

“Give up his precious treasures like that; right?” Kagome added, smiling sweetly at him.

“That's right!”

“Speaking of which, I haven't confiscated this weeks issue,” Sango said, staring at Miroku as if expecting him to hand it over.

“Don't have it!”

“Liar. Don't worry, I will find it eventually.”

“And what? I've always wondered, what do you do with all the stuff you confiscate?” Before she could answer, he continued. “Ah! Don't tell me… you have a secret thing for girls!?”

Kagome couldn't tell if Sango went red from anger or from embarrassment. Either way, Miroku was in for it. The lunch box hit him square in the face, causing him to fall back, hitting his head. Standing, Sango quickly took off for the stairway.

“Ow, ow, ow,” Miroku said, sitting up as he rubbed the back of his head and nose at the same time. “God, it was only a joke. No reason to get so pissed.”

Standing, Kagome shook her head at him. “Miroku, you're an idiot.” She left him staring up at her, flustered by the sudden reaction. Of course, it wasn't entirely his fault. The only one who knew the real reason for that reaction was her.

She had to move quickly to catch up with Sango as she darted inside the nearest female bathroom. As Kagome entered after her, she did a fast check to see that they were alone and locked the door behind her.

“You okay?” she asked softly, moving over to Sango who was leaning over the sink, head down. To her dismay, Sango shook her head no. “Miroku is an idiot. He was only joki—”

“We had sex.” Her voice was just above a whisper.

“Eh?” Kagome said, stunned.

“Miroku and I, we had sex. Kind of…”

“Okay… I'm not quite sure how you `kind of' have sex though.”

“I started crying.”

“That's…” Kagome stopped. She didn't know what to make of it. “Why?”

Sango shrugged. “He wanted me to… be more into it and I started crying.”

“How did Miroku take it?” It was amazing how normal he acted. She would have never guessed something like this had happened by how he looked. Both of them… Yesterday they acted just like they always did. Hiding something as big as this… I wonder what other things people around me hide.

“He was disappointed. He may not have admitted it or showed it, but I know him. He was really looking forward to it and I let him down.”

“No, don't say that,” Kagome said, rubbing her friends shoulders gently. “I'm sure it was just nervous jitters or something like that.”

Sango shook her head. “I know what it is.” Straightening, she faced Kagome. “I think… I like girls…”

The shock hit Kagome like a physical punch. “Eh?”

“I think I like girls.”

“W-w-why do you say that?”

“Because I can't stop thinking about it!” she said, tears forming in her eyes. Kagome knew immediately what she was talking about. Taking a deep breath, Kagome collected her thoughts.

“Yeah… I think it's about time we talked about that. Listen, we were just caught up in the moment. It didn't mean anything.”

“But I liked it,” her voice was a little louder now, but it was still quiet enough that Kagome had to stay close to hear it.

“I liked it too.” Sango looked at her in surprise. It was the truth. She had enjoyed it. If she had been sent back in time with the choice to do it again, she would. Now having a repeat of it afterwards was another question.

“Y-y-you did?”

“Of course, how could I not?” She gave her a smile before letting it fade. “Honestly, I've always been afraid that you regretted it.” Eyes widening, Sango shook her head. Kagome let out a sigh of relief. It was nice to know for sure.

“But… isn't this wrong? What we did?”

Kagome shifted her weight anxiously. “From what most people would say? Probably. But really, who cares what they think? No one was harmed by it. They have no more right to declare what is `normal' than anyone else. The real question is do you think it was wrong?”

Sango took a second to think. “I-… No.”

“Well then, there you go,” Kagome said with a curt nod. Seeing that her friend was still uneasy, she thought for a moment. “Okay, you believe you have feelings for girls. Think for a moment. Would you do the same thing with Kikyo?” Personality aside, she did have an uncanny resemblance to her. It was funny because when people found out that she was a twin, Kikyo had been naturally assumed as her sister.

“Ew, no way!” Sango answered immediately, crinkling her nose at the thought.

“What about Aki? Or Aya, Midori, Nao, Takara or Yumi? Any of them?” she asked, naming some of their more attractive female classmates. Sango shook her head. “Anyone at all come to mind?” Again, she shook her head. “And when you masturbate, do you think of guys or girls?”

Sango's face turned beet red at Kagome's blunt question. “I don't—” Kagome frowned, giving her a hard stare. “G-guys…” she answered in a timid voice.

“Well there we go. I'm pretty sure you like guys.” Sango visibly looked better than before the conversation started. “Agree?” She nodded. Kagome smiled. “Good! It's nice to know I'm the only woman in your eyes.” Sango was completely red in an instant. Right, it's too soon to joke about it.

“But why did I freak out with Miroku like that then?” she said, steering the conversation towards a less embarrassing topic for her. Kagome chewed at her lower lip as she thought. It was a good question.

“Well… What were you feeling at the time? Not like how it felt physically... Err… You understand?”

She nodded. “It was weird… before we actually… started… I felt fine. It was really good and I was enjoying it. But when he…” She turned red again. “Put it in, I didn't like it. I felt nervous… Almost like something was missing. I don't know what though.”

Kagome sighed, trying to think. Honestly, she had no idea what it was. Coming up with an answer to this felt like shooting and arrow in the dark and trying to hit a moving target.

“I don't know… Has he ever said he loved you?”

She opened her mouth to respond only to close it again, thinking. “It's implied…”

“Maybe that's the problem. Maybe since you haven't heard it, you can't quite make a complete connection since there is some doubt.”

“I don't doubt Miroku!”

Kagome raised an eyebrow. “Oh? So if some hot blond with big breasts made a pass at him, you know with absolute certainty that he would turn her down?” With his flirty attitude, Kagome already knew the answer. Sango's silence was all the answer she needed. “I'm pretty sure that's the problem.”

“But people can say anything. If I confront him about it, he could just rattle it off, regardless if it was true or not.”

“When the time comes and he says it on his own, there won't be any doubt.”

“So I'm just supposed to wait? I could be waiting forever! It's not fair!”

Kagome could only smile and shrug. “Isn't that love? You have to constantly take a chance. Do I wait or do I move on?”

Sango shook her head, sighing. “This is getting way too deep.”

Kagome giggled. “Sorry. You think I'm bad, you should listen to Inuyasha and our dad when they get off on a tangent.” She was glad her friend was feeling better. It was amazing how much could be accomplished in such a short time. Hopefully, Miroku will get off his dumbass hands and let out his feelings. She wondered if Inuyasha would be as difficult to date as Miroku. She hoped he wasn't. If he was, she felt bad for his girlfriend. I wish he would introduce her to us…

Thinking about Inuyasha brought his absence to mind. “Speaking of Inuyasha… Where is he? He wasn't at lunch.”

Sango, who had taken the time to start to freshen herself up, looked back over at her. “Oh, he didn't tell you? He had a meeting with Terrance.”

“During lunch?”

Sango shrugged. “I know, odd isn't it? Then again, when isn't stuff Inuyasha does odd?”

“Some stuff…” Kagome said, not really confident in her answer. Well, he is an odd brother. Wouldn't take him any other way though.

Taking a deep breath, Sango nodded to herself in the mirror. There wasn't any trace she had been crying. Not that she cried much anyway. She envied how strong Sango could be.

“Ready?” Kagome asked.

“Yep,” Sango replied cheerfully. Both smiling, they exited the restroom.

Inuyasha wasn't quite sure why the other man was in the meeting. To be honest, he looked creepy as hell. He was tall with black hair cut short. A suit, black tie against his white shirt, gloves and wearing sunglasses indoors completed the `I'm a professional hit man' look perfectly. The fact he had yet to say anything didn't help his case.

Terrance smiled encouragingly as the man pulled a laptop from his bag, setting it on the large desk in front of Inuyasha. A touch of the button brought the screen to life.

“Remember how I said that I knew a college overseas that would be interested in you? Well, this gentleman here is an associate of it. It's an elite one that has strict standards on who it allows into the school.”

Inuyasha eyed the suited man warily. If he is an associate of it, I'm not sure I want to go there.

Terrance continued. “On the laptop is a test program. I've already talked to your teachers and they have excused you from your afternoon classes so you aren't rushed for time. Take your time to think through the answers before you answer them. However, scoring is based on how quickly the test is taken, so don't take too long. Any questions?”

“Yeah, what college is this? We've been talking about this for awhile now and you haven't told me the name.”

Terrance's smile faltered for a second before recovering. “I… can't tell you that.” Shady… Inuyasha had a feeling that he was getting involved with something he probably shouldn't be. “But rest assured, it's an amazing place.”

Something is definitely wrong here… However, he had come this far and Terrance was saying this would get him out of the country if he did well on this test.

“Okay.”

“Great! Let's begin!” Looking over at the suited man, he nodded. Reaching over, he pressed a key with a gloved hand. Text began scrolling slowly across the screen as if someone was typing it.

Inuyasha blinked, staring at the screen. What is all this? CRT? Why are the others asterisked out?

Instantly, the screen flashed and instructions appeared on the screen. Solve the equation… As soon as he finished reading it, numbers began flashing on the screen. His eyes scanned the screen, unblinking as his mind absorbed everything that the screen displayed for that brief moment. Finally, after nearly ten seconds, the flashing stopped to reveal a blank space for him to enter his answer. Blinking, he just stared at the screen.

What the fuck was that?! Yet he had all the information he needed. Thinking, he quickly ran over it again and again and again. After six minutes, he typed in his answer and clicked the next button. An image flashed on the screen. It looked like someone's vacation photo as the man in the center of the screen was smiling as he pointed to the statue behind him. Inuyasha stared at it, unsure what to do. Five seconds later, the screen flashed to another blank answer field.

What was the man in the red shirt and blue baseball cap doing? Be as specific as you can.

Frowning, Inuyasha scratched his head. The hell? The man in the picture was wearing a green shirt and had no baseball cap. Closing his eyes, he thought back to the picture, his head slowly bringing the image into fuzzy focus. In his minds eye, he saw a man far off in the background with a red shirt and baseball cap.

`He appeared to be talking to a man in a white T-shirt and jeans. Also, he was handing him a metal briefcase.'

Pressing the next button again, Inuyasha braced himself for the next question of what seemed would be a very interesting test…

I'm glad some of you are enjoying the story thus far.

I did not intend for the whole San/Kag hint to be such a major part of the story when I wrote it. Now that I wrote this, I am kind of happy it turned out like it did. It may make some things easier for me in future chapters.

I always grow a little more uneasy each chapter I write. `Is everything making some sense?' `Is everything consistent with previous chapters?' `Is it flowing nicely or am I jumping around too much?' Stuff like that.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I have my general idea of the story finished. Now its just simply getting there.

As always, my thanks for everyone who took the time to review! I appreciate it!

*Edit: Added a little to the test at the end.
