"Kagome! Where's the jewel shard?" Yelled Inuyasha as he pulled out Tetsusaiga.

Kagome searched frantically through the centipede demon's body. " In its head!" Kagome said.

"I'm on it!" said a young taijia named Sango with Miroku on Kirara's back. She swung her Hiraikotsu, slicing the demons head off.

Inuyasha used his kaze no kizu killing the demon violently.

Kagome ran to the demon's head and took the Shikon jewel shard out before the centipede demon could regenerate.

As soon as Kagome touched the shard it became purified and everyone came and joined her.

Inuyasha looked at the dead demon again and growled in victory before he joined Kagome and the others.

"So should we start to set up camp for the night?" Asked Sango.

Everyone smiled and nodded at Sango. Kagome and Sango started to pick up wood to start a fire, while Inuyasha went off to hunt for dinner and Miroku stayed at camp setting up the site with Shippou on his shoulder.

By the time Inuyasha came back with a dead deer the girls were already starting to build the fire. While the fire was being started Miroku skinned the deer and started cleaning the meat to cook on the fire.

They all sat down around the fire. Miroku was sitting by Sango of course and Inuyasha stayed close to Kagome with Shippou in her lap.

"So is the meat done yet?" Growled a hungry Inuyasha.

"Sit" Kagome said and with that Inuyasha landed head first into the ground.

"What was that for?" Inuyasha yelled at her. "You could ask a little more nicely you know." Said an annoyed Kagome.

"Feh" was all Inuyasha said. Sango tested the meat and it was ready to eat. She gave a portion to Inuyasha and Miroku. And kept a small portion for herself and Kagome.

"Mmm, this is really good Sango." Said Miroku with a sly smile on his face.

"Thank you, but…" her eyebrow twitched as soon as Miroku slid a hand around her butt and with that came a loud "slap" with Miroku's face having a red handprint across his right cheek. All he did was "sigh" and finished his meat.

"You could at least try to control yourself while we eat you pervert." Growled Inuyasha.

"Now, now. Lets not try and fight right now." Said a very calm Kagome.

The rest of their dinner was eaten in silence. Then they set up their bedding and got ready to go to sleep. Inuyasha leaped up into a tree and watched as the others fell asleep. Then he closed his eyes until he was waken up to rain drops falling onto his face.

The others woke up too and grabbed all their stuff before it started pouring. They stayed under a tree for shelter. "Where's Shippou?" Asked Kagome with worry in her eyes.

"I thought he was with you." Said Miroku. "So did I." Said Kagome, now with her voice full of worry.

"Stay here you guys, I'll go look." Said Kagome as she ran off looking for Shippou.

Inuyasha jumped down from the tree and asked Sango and Miroku where Kagome was going.

They told him she was off looking for Shippou. Inuyasha growled in frustration because now he had to go off after Kagome in the rain which he hated, but was more worried about her safety than the rain.

The next thing Sango and Miroku noticed that they were alone and once again he tried to grab Sango's butt. He sure grabbed it but was bopped in on the head with her Hiraikotsu.

Mean while, Kagome was running through the forest soaked and wet calling out Shippou's name and was encountered with a scream from Shippou.

She then was faced with a large demon picking on Shippou. When Shippou saw Kagome and ran into her arms. The demon caught a glimpse of Kagome and then went raging to attack her and the little kitsune.

Kagome new better than to stay there so she started running until the demon caught her in his huge hand. Shippou managed to get away and Kagome told him to get Inuyasha to help.

"Right" said Shippou as he ran off yelling Inuyasha's name so he could find him.

Inuyasha heard Shippou's voice and found Shippou. "A big demon has Kagome." Said a scared kitsune. "Which way is she?" Growled a frantic Inuyasha. "That way" said Shippou and Inuyasha grabbed Shippou and was off in that direction. Inuyasha heard Kagome's scream and ran as fast as he could to get there. He then saw this huge demon strangling Kagome.

Inuyasha dropped Shippou with a "thud" and pulled out Testusaiga and sliced the demon in pieced while grabbing Kagome in the process. Kagome was choking for air until Inuyasha got them safe on the ground.

"Are you alright?" Asked a frightened Inuyasha. "I will be." Said a relieved Kagome. Shippou ran into Kagome's arms and started crying. "I'm so sorry." Sobbed the little kitsune. "I'm alright now." Cooed Kagome, trying to calm down Shippou.

"What were you doing wandering off alone?" Growled a pissed off Inuyasha.

"I was looking for some flowers." Said Shippou, not bothering to look Inuyasha in the eyes.

"Bonk" Inuyasha hit Shippou on the head leaving a bump. "What was that for?" Wailed Shippou in pain. "That was for wandering off and getting Kagome hurt." Yelled Inuyasha. "Come on Inuyasha, he did say he was sorry." Said Kagome. "Feh, let's go back to camp." Said Inuyasha pulling Kagome and Shippou on his back."

When they arrived back to Miroku and Sango Kagome was soaked to her skin and was shivering. "Do you need anything Kagome?" Asked Sango worried that Kagome might be sick. "No, I'm alright I just need a change of clothes and some sleep. I'll be better tomorrow.

Kagome went off to change into dry clothes while Inuyasha filled Sango and Miroku on what had happened.

Kagome came back and sat down next to Inuyasha with the rest of the group. She could barely keep her eyes opened and fell asleep on Inuyasha's shoulder. Inuyasha was startled for a moment before he noticed Kagome sleeping on him. "We should all try and get some sleep." Inuyasha finally said. Every one fell asleep and he almost did too until he felt Kagome shivering. He looked around and decided that everyone was sleeping and he wrapped his arms around Kagome. Kagome leaned into the embrace and Inuyasha fell asleep along with the others.
