*Give Me A Chance*
Chapter Thirteen: Do you remember?
That day at lunch Kagome and Sango decided to eat under the weeping willow to have some time to them selves, they even remembered to bring their own lunches that day. They'd just sat down when Inuyasha and Miroku joined them. “Hello ladies,” said Miroku taking a seat next to Sango. “What's for lunch?”
“We're eating sushi. I don't know what you're eating.” Said Kagome. She was lying on her side and opening the containers holding the sushi.
“Aww, come on babe,” Inuyasha sat down beside Kagome and played with her hair. “We forgot our lunch money today. Share with me, I'll make it up to you.”
“How?” asked Kagome intrigued. Inuyasha grinned wolfishly.
“That's for me to know and you to find out.” Kagome smiled and sat up to lean against the tree.
“Well with an offer like that, who could resist?” Inuyasha lay down with his head in her lap. And Kagome fed him some sushi then ate some herself.
“How cool is this party Friday gonna be?” Sango asked avoiding Miroku's questing lips so she could eat.
“Way cool,” answered Kagome. They sat comfortably eating and talking. Every now and then Miroku would steal a kiss or Sango would slap him because of his wondering hands. Since there were four people eating what was meant for two the food went pretty quickly but no one really minded. Kagome was content and lost in thought while absently massaging Inuyasha's ears. This isn't so bad, maybe I was wrong about Inuyasha. He's certainly different from when I first met him. I guess you can't judge someone on how they acted years and years ago; I doubt he even remembers it. I'm glad Inuyasha convinced me to give him a chance; it's probably the smartest thing I've done in a while. When I'm with him I'm really truly happy. She smiled down at Inuyasha, his eyes were closed and he was all but purring with pleasure. He's changed, I know it, and this time I won't let him go. The sound of footsteps and rustling leaves brought her out of her reverie. She looked up to see Kikyou entering with her few remaining friends. Without realizing it she stopped caressing Inuyasha's ears.
“What is this?” she asked. Holding up the flyer Kagome had put in her locker.
“Don't tell me you haven't heard?” Kagome said sweetly. “We're throwing a block party Friday. Are you here to buy a ticket? You don't need to since you live in the area where the party's being held.”
“Don't you have to have permission from the residents to throw these things?” Asked Kikyou. Kagome nodded.
“Hey Kagome,” Inuyasha opened his eyes and sat up. “Why'd you stop?” Then he noticed Kikyou, “Oh.”
“Sorry Yash, I didn't realized I'd stopped.” She put her hands back on his ears and with a sigh of pleasure he sank back down onto her lap. Kikyou cleared her throat and gritted her teeth.
“I don't remember signing anything for this party.” She practically growled.
“But your mom did,” Kagome smiled. “Didn't she tell you? I guess not, she probably didn't want to share the cookies I gave her.” Kikyou took a deep breath. It was obvious she was close to loosing her temper.
“He doesn't like that you know,” she snapped. Kagome raised a single brow. “The ears,” Kikyou elaborated. “He told me he doesn't really like it, but girls seem to love his ears so he lets them do it. He really hates it.”
“Really?” asked Kagome looking down at Inuyasha. “He doesn't look like he hates it. Inuyasha do you like it when I rub your ears?” she asked.
“Mmmm.” Inuyasha answered smiling lazily.
“But you told Kikyou you didn't like it.”
“She has sharp nails,” he murmured.
“Aww, did she hurt my poor Inu-baby with her sharp nails?” cooed Kagome.
“Mmmm.” Kikyou huffed and stalked away.
“I bet you could get him to tell you anything when you're doing that.” Miroku said. “Ask him what his middle name is.”
“Yashy,” said Kagome sweetly.
“Hmmm?”
“What's your middle name?” he didn't answer for a second so she increased the pressure on his ears. “Are you going to tell me?”
“Mmm, it's Ikari,” he answered.
“Inuyasha,” Kagome said one more time. “Do you remember ever meeting me before high school started?”
“No,” he sighed drawing out the word. Kagome dropped her hands away from his ears.
“I didn't think you would.” She checked her watch. “Get off me Inuyasha, there's something I need to do before class starts.” Inuyasha sat up and Kagome stood.
“Wait,” Inuyasha grabbed her hand. “Want to come to my house again? We never got to watch our movie last time.”
Kagome smiled. “Sure, I'll meet you at your motorcycle after school.” She left.
“What was with that last question?” asked Miroku.
“What question?” asked Inuyasha.
“You don't remember anything Kagome asked you while she was rubbing your ears did you?” laughed Sango.
“She asked me something?”
“You told us your middle name.” Smirked Miroku.
“I did not.”
“Yes you did, Ikari.”
“Miroku! You told her to ask me that!” Inuyasha yelled. Soon he had Miroku pinned to the ground with his hands wrapped around his throat. Sango didn't even try to help her boyfriend, she was to busy laughing.
“Inuyasha,” Miroku gasped. “What,” gasp “about,” wheeze ”'what she,” cough “just,” struggle “asked you?” gag.
“She asked me something else?” Inuyasha loosened his grasp. Miroku instantly began to take deep gasping breaths. Sango was all but rolling on the ground laughing.
“That's just great,” Miroku snapped. “Your boyfriend is about to be murdered and you laugh.”
“Sorry,” said Sango trying ineffectively to stem her laughter.
“What did she asked me?”
“Huh?”
“Kagome,” said Inuyasha, “you said she asked me something else, what did she ask.”
“Oh, she asked if you remembered meeting her before high school. She seemed sort of put out when you said no.”
“Hmm.” Inuyasha thought back trying to see if he'd ever met Kagome before. He couldn't think of anything. So he gave up with a shrug. Soon the bell rung signaling the end of lunch and they gathered up their trash and headed for class.
A/N: Hey you guys what's up? Sorry it's taking me so long to update lately. Gotta slight case of writer's block but don't worry it'll pass. So I was wondering if you guys could do me a favor. Have any of you ever been to summer camp? If you have or even if you haven't and just have idea's could you tell me about some of the pranks and stuff you played on each other, and about the counselors, the food, activities, pretty much everything. It's for a new fic idea I have but I've never been to camp so I need a little help. I'll tell you more about my idea next update.
See ya later,
