Chapter 5 Hanyou
After Inuyasha replaced his charm and ball cap, he had Kagome back at Sango's house in no time. He sat her down and gave her a hug. Kagome returned it. "Thank you so much for opening up to me Inuyasha. I promise I won't tell anyone." She thanked and promised him. Inuyasha smiled down at her.
"No, thank you Kagome." He said before leaning down to give her a good night kiss. "Sweet dreams." He whispered against her lips. His breath fanned them and her breath caught in her throat. In an instant, he was gone. But somehow, she knew he was still nearby. She smiled as she walked to the door to enter Sango's home. She opened the door and shit it behind her. She sighed in bliss.
She pranced over to a bag with her clothes in it and grabbed some pajamas. She proceeded to the bathroom and changed. She danced around the living room as she got her blanket and pillow together. She hadn't felt this happy in a long time.
Kagome set up her 'bed' on the couch and laid down. She laid there with a smile on her face as she drifted off to sleep. Not even knowing that her loving hanyou was watching over the house to keep her safe in her sleep.

The next morning, Sango let Kagome sleep in. She wasn't sure how late Kagome was out last night and wanted her to get plenty of rest. When Kagome did finally wake up it was around lunch time. Kagome stretched before getting up and greeting Sango in the kitchen.
"Well good morning sleepy head!" Sango teased. Kagome laughed and sat down at the table. "So! Tell me what happened last night!" Sango demanded excitedly as she placed a cup of coffee in front of Kagome and sat down next to her.
"Oh, well.. Uh..." Kagome stuttered. She didn't know what to say. "He took me for a moon light stroll in the park! Yeah that's it!" Kagome told her, proud of her distraction she created. And plus, it wasn't all a lie. Sango squealed.
"Really?! That is so romantic! Then what?" Sango prodded.
"We went for a long walk and then he asked me to be his girlfriend!" Kagome said with so much enthusiasm Sango squeaked again in excitement.
"Congratulations Kagome! Did you kiss him? Is he a good kisser? Or wait! Did you do something else?" Sango asked evilly. Kagome's face turned a bright shade of pink.
"What?! Of course not! Well, we did kiss, but nothing else!" Kagome exclaimed.
"So was he a good kisser?! Spill it sister!" Sango ordered.
"Yeah he was. Eh... I guess you could say he took my breath away." Kagome said more quietly. She had a lighter blush on her cheeks now. Sango was so happy that she leaped up and had romance swirling around her. With the whole shabang, hearts, flowers, bubbles, everything. Her eyes glistened with excitement.
"I can only hope that Miroku is that romantic with me!" She said subconsciously. Kagome decided to let it slide and spare her friend the embarrassment for one day. Kagome sipped on her coffee as she listened to her friend dream of her perfect date with Miroku.
Suddenly, Sango's cell phone started to ring. She had a popular pop song as her ring tone and started to sing along with it up until she answered.
"Hello?" She answered. Kagome waited as Sango listened to the person on the other end of the phone. "Oh, yeah sure! I would love to! ... Okay I'll see you then! ... Bye!" Sango said excitedly before hanging up the cell phone. She then turned to Kagome with dazzled eyes. "That was Miroku! He asked my out to have lunch with him in a little bit!" Sango told her with yet another squeak.
"That's awesome Sango!" Kagome said cheerfully. Sango gave her a quick hug before rushing up the stairs. Along the way Sango yelled to Kagome that she needed to get ready for her date and that she might not be home until late that night so she could have the house to herself if she wanted.
Before long, Miroku had come to the house to pick up Sango. Kagome answered the door and invited him in until Sango was ready. "So Miroku, where are Sango and yourself going for lunch today?" Kagome asked trying to start some small talk with him. She made sure there was plenty of distance between them so he wouldn't get any ideas.
"I think we will just head to that new cafe downtown and have some nice alone time to talk." Miroku said casually. Kagome knew Sango might have trouble with his wandering hand if they were having 'alone time' and hoped he would keep his hands to himself for a change.
Sango came down the stairs and looked amazing. She wasn't too dressed up but just enough to show off the curves of her perfect body. Kagome envied her for her feminine yet muscular physique. Miroku stood and was in awe of her beauty. Mouth hanging open and all.
"You look... Magnificent Sango darling!" Miroku told her as he offered her his hand to lead her to the awaiting car. Sango blushed as she told Kagome bye and they left for the cafe. Kagome waved bye to them as they pulled away and sighed as she looked up to the sky and thought about Inuyasha. She missed him. She shut the door and walked over to the couch. She plopped down to relax.
She couldn't stop her daydreaming about Inuyasha. He was always on her mind. She remembered all his demon features he had shown her the previous night and was strangely turned on by that mysterious and dangerous side of him. Then she remembered that he said he was only part demon. She was curious what he meant by that. She made a mental note to ask him about that later. She wondered about when the next time she would see him would be.
Kagome was startled when she heard a light tap on the living room window. She looked and there he was. Like he knew she was thinking of him. She smiled wide and jumped up to let him inside. He met her at the door also with a smile. She opened it and he immediately wrapped his arms around her, swung the door shut behind him and gave her soft but passionate kisses. It was so fast that Kagome didn't know what happened but she liked it. She put her arms around his neck as she kissed him back.
After a few minutes, their separated to catch their breath again. But Inuyasha didn't let go of her. He placed his forehead against hers while they both were still breathing heavy. "Hey." He said as a greeting. Kagome giggled.
"Hey." She replied. They both laughed for a moment.
"I wanna take you to see my house and meet my brother today." He told her with some enthusiasm. He grabbed her hand and kissed it. "So get ready if you need to." He said before heading to the couch. Kagome was surprised and had to blink a few times to comprehend what he said.
"You have a brother?" She asked out of shock. She stood there like she was frozen in place and felt stupid for doing so. She walked over to her bag of clothes and picked out a cute sun dress that would complement her curves.
"Yeah. He's my older brother." Inuyasha told her as he took off his hat and scratched behind his ear.
Kagome proceeded to the bathroom and changed out of her pajamas that she just realized Inuyasha saw her in. She blushed red. 'Shit. He probably thinks I'm a slob.' She thought. Then she sighed aloud.
When she finished putting on her dress and brushing out her hair, she returned to the living room and found Inuyasha lounging on his side on the couch with his ears exposed. Then she remembered he mental note she made earlier. She walked over to the couch and sat next to his head and scratched behind his ear. Inuyasha was surprised by how good it felt for her to do so. Kagome heard a rumble in Inuyasha's chest like a purr.
"Hey Inuyasha?" She asked quietly. His ear she was scratching twitched in her direction to show he was listening. "Last night, what did you mean by part demon?" The rumble stopped. He slowly pulled his head away from her hand and sat straight up in his seat. Kagome was scared that he was mad at her for asking. "I'm sorry Inuyasha. Just forget I asked." She tried to apologized.
Inuyasha shook his head and grinned. Not out of happiness but sadness. He was trying to hide it. He wouldn't look at Kagome and she became worried. He hid his eyes with his bangs as he spoke. "I'm not a full blooded demon." He started. "I'm only a half demon."
"What do you mean? How is can that be?" She asked. Inuyasha chucked in sarcasm.
"My father is full demon," he said with a pause, then continued, "but my mother is human. They both died when I was young." Kagome inwardly gasped. The image of the beautiful woman she felt had passed away flashed in her mind. She lowered her head in sorrow.
"They must have been wonderful people." Kagome said softly. Inuyasha looked over to her in shock. Kagome clinched her fists that were placed on her legs. "I bet your mother was beautiful." The tears that she was fighting to hold back fell past her lids and hit her bare thighs. Inuyasha gasped aloud.
'Mo-Mother. Did Kagome see you? Did you show her? Is she was one I'm supposed to be with?' Was all he could think. He grabbed her wrist and her head snapped up. Inuyasha pulled her towards him and she fell into his chest. He hugged her close to him and was still in shock that she saw his mother. Kagome closed her eyes and buried her face into his shirt.
"Inuyasha. I don't know who I saw, but I feel like I was connected with her." Kagome said. "I want to know her, but I can't." The sadness she felt was unbearable. To know she was connected so tightly to someone she would never get to meet killed her.
"What did she look like?" Inuyasha asked. That was the only way he could know.
"She was very beautiful. She had long, flowing, jet black hair with the most beautiful, dark brown eyes." Kagome described. Inuyasha's eyes softened and a smile crossed his lips as the image of his mother flashed through his mind.
"That was my mother Kagome." He told her kindly. Kagome's eyes widened.
'So it was like I thought! How did I know her? Why did I see her in the park? Poor Inuyasha. He was on his own ever since he was young. Poor guy.' Kagome thought.
"Don't be sad though." Inuyasha told Kagome. Kagome looked up at him a little confused. He smiled as he looked up towards the sky with Kagome still in his arms. "I'm not sad. She's in a better place. Away from all the pains of this world." He explained. Kagome smiled with him. She understood. She hugged his torso tighter and he did the same.
When their loving hug was over, they released each other. "Come on. Let's get going." Inuyasha said as he replaced his ball cap on his head. Kagome nodded and they both stood from the sofa.
Inuyasha led Kagome door and held it open for her. She thanked him and he 'feh'ed her. She giggled at his so called 'attitude'. She knew it was fake.
She looked to the driveway when she was finally outside and her mouth gaped open. There was a beautiful black Lexus parked in it. "What are you looking all stupid about?" Inuyasha asked with a cocky smile. Kagome huffed and crossed her arms.
"Don't tell me I was looking stupid! I just haven't seen a car like this so up close before." She pouted. Inuyasha sarcastically laughed.
"Well get used to it baby. This is all your gonna see while you're with me!" He said. Kagome huffed again at his cocky attitude. She wasn't liking it. She brushed it off, however, because she wanted to look at the gorgeous car.
She didn't know much of anything about cars, other than the fact that some were super expensive and pretty. But even someone like her could tell that this Lexus was souped up. Inuyasha walked over to the passenger side door and opened it.
"Hop in." He said. Kagome smiled at him and got into the car. A few moments later she was joined by her favorite hanyou. He didn't waste any time putting the car in gear and speeding down the street.
