Chap.7

His eyes hurt when he woke up. Papers were scattered over the floor strewn about like bodies that had been carelessly murdered. He pulled the one he wanted out from under them all looking it over then vanishing into his closet for clothes.

Minutes later Inu walked out the door the soft white paper in hand and his backpack swung over his shoulder. His red car pulled away from the curb, tires burning. This fog had come, clouding his senses. He pulled into the parking lot at school and made it to English on time.

His seat was vancant but he passed it up to sit in the back. His artist rolled her eyes, but he didn't notice. The fog hadn't left yet. The teacher spoke harshly, Inu hearing everything. Kagome cursed beside him. She had forgotten about the assignment. Inu let the paper he had been carrying fall to the floor.

Kagome looked at him picking up the paper. “Exchange papers please, we are reading each others.” Inu's eyes flicked over to her.

“You going to let me read yours?” He asked.

“This is…” She laughed slightly. “What are you planning?”

“I'm planning on you getting an A.” He plucked the paper from her hands and handed her another one. She blinked several times and shook her head.

“Kagome would you go first. You may read your own or… Inu's if he wrote one.” The teacher said softly.

Kagome stood licking her lips lightly.

“Her and Him
They were meant to be
They walk like each other
And Talk the same
Their thoughts are peril

Him and her
They were meant to be
The way they think
The way they write
Their ways are apparent

Circumstances render
They can never be
But what if
Just maybe
They could see

Into each others hearts
Just for one day
It could be grand
It could be great
But then everything would go irate

This she knows
This he does too.”

Her heart stopped. What had he written for her poem?

“Inu do the same if she brought one.” His eyes looked up at her as she sat and he stood. Then they shifted to the paper.

“Cold and alone
It's always been
Cold and alone
It is no more

I tried to find my place
But I don't belong
I tried to find the right pace
But everyone's going faster than me

Everything's wrong here
I wanted to change
Everything's wrong here
And I did

I wanted to feel right
But everyone fights
I wanted to feel loved
But everyone's taken

Frightfully cold
It'll always be
Frightfully cold
I'll always be me

No one can change
But me
No one is strange
But me.”

He stopped, taking a glance at her. The look on her face was awe. How could he capture her feelings? She smiled at him. His eyes shifted to the teacher who was looking at Kagome. Everyone was looking at Kagome with wide eyes. Her smile was guinuine.

Beautifully placed on her face was her smile. He couldn't help but smile back. As if she realized what she was doing she frowned, turning away from him silently and facing the teacher, her eyes directed downwards.

“An A for you both. Anyone else?”
