“Inuyasha?” The voice was whispered and yet it was screamed. Kikyou head cheerleader walked right up to him and asked him out. Just like that in front of her. Kagome turned away, walking quickly. She didn't hear his response. She didn't have to. Kikyou was the prettiest girl in the school- out of the preps that was.

Kagome plopped down beside Sango. “He's cute isn't he?” She asked directing Kagome's gaze to someone on the football field.

“Is that Inu's friend Miroku?” Kagome asked leaning against the tree heavily.

“Yeah.” Her eyes went mischievous.

“What are you planning Sango?”

“Watch and learn.” The other girl bounced up darting for the field. Suddenly Sango had the ball in her hands and was running form all the guys straight for a touchdown. Kagome cracked up laughing, watching her friend turn back to the players, stop short, and literally fall onto safe ground. The ball of course was returned swiftly and Sango bounced right back over to Kagome. “Well that was fun… What now?”

“Good question.” Kagome replied scanning the area. “You know when something's wrong and you feel it but you don't know exactly what it is.”

“Yeah, I get those feelings all the time. Why?”

“I'm having one of those moments.”

Right then Kikyou burst out of the gym with a red face and an angry aura. She looked around then headed straight for Sango and Kagome. “And here it comes…”

“You- you are the one he was talking about. I don't see why he likes you, all you are is a slut with a bad attitude.” She screamed approaching the two Dark Sprites. Everyone on the football field stopped to watch.

“First of all, who are you talking about? And second of all who is a slut? The only one I see here is you.” Kagome responded.

“You know who I'm talking about. I know you do. And you're the no good slut that took him from me!” She lunged falling face first because Kagome had moved from the spot she had been in. When Kikyou stood and lunged again Kagome just stuck out her fist letting the girl run into it herself.

Kikyou laid flat on her back, and Kagome straddled her, bringing her fist in contact with her face again and again. “One thing about me, Kikyou, is that I don't fight unless attacked first. Self defense is a bitch.”

Kikyou's head fell to the side when Kagome finally stopped. Sango helped her friend up. Teachers had started running out but the players that had been on the field and Sango had already cleared Kagome out of sight and into the locker room.

“Damn girl. I haven't seen anyone ever throw a punch like that.” Miroku said, looking Kagome over for any noticeable bruising.

“I'm not hurt. You can stop.” She whispered. She looked at her knuckles. They were bloody and torn. “Damn that's gonna scar.” She sighed. Sango grabbed a wet towel and covered her friend's fist.

“Look. We don't know what's going on but if you're on Kikyou's bad side, you're in for hell.”

“I was in for hell before this year, and you don't even know me.” Kagome said softly.

Miroku looked down on her. “You're the girl Inu likes. And that is the highest spot you can have in a school like this. Kikyou has been trying to get a date for years. You must be special if he said no to her for you.”

Kagome rolled her eyes. “Inu is a jerk, an ass, and a bother wrapped into one. He can try but he won't ever get me. I'm a Dark Sprite for crying out loud. For all he knows I don't even like guys. He knows nothing about me and probably never will.” She threw the towel off of her hand. “And if that bitch comes after me again- I'll not only knock out her teeth, I'll knock out his.”

Kagome stood, the other players backing away from her. “I have class to get to boys. Sango.”

Instantly the older girl took Kagome's arm. “The lesbian act will only hold out for so long, what then?”

“Then I go onto already having a boyfriend. Newsflash, I do.” Kagome stated heading for the door.

“No you don't.”

“And how do you know she doesn't?” Sango asked roughly, flipping them back around to look at the guys.

“Inu told me about a little package dropped off at his house.” Miroku winked. Sango's eyes grew big.

“What's he talking about Sango?” Instantly Sango shrugged. Kagome looked at her then looked back at Miroku. “Why do I have a feeling your lying?”

“I don't know.” Sango looked at Miroku with pleading eyes.

He responded. “Maybe it wasn't her, perhaps someone else.”

Kagome nodded but kept walking. “Good bye boys, have a good day.” Her palm hit the door with a thud, pushing in wide open into a hallway full of students. “Damn passing period.”

“I'll see you later then?” Sango asked. This was Kagome's free period, thank god, she needed it.

“Yeah I'll be out on the football field.” Kagome kissed Sango's cheek, Sango doing the same. They parted ways, Kagome heading right back out from where she came. The field was cleaned off from the lunch fight. Kagome laid underneath the tree her and Sango always sat at. It felt so good here.

She stretched her arms up, her shirt coming with them momentarily and showing her belly button piercing. “Do you have any other holes in your body?” Inu's voice said seductively. Kagome sat up quickly.

“Inu.” Her eyes were down cast quickly. “What you doing out here?”

“Free period.” He sat down beside her.

Kagome quirked an eyebrow and toughened up a little. “And you came out here to what? To talk?”

He chuckled softly. “Yeah sort of. I wanted to ask you, formally ask you, if you would go out with me.” Inu looked up at her, tipping her chin with his finger. Her eyes caught his, then looked down quickly. “No answer?”

“Inu. I can't.” Kagome looked away.

“Why not? Kagome please.” She looked up at him again and nearly fell into his eyes.

“Okay Inu.”

“Okay what?”

“I will go out with you.”
