Chapter 21
AN: It's been awhile. I'm sick and staying home for the next few days. Meaning, I'm working on not only this story but new stories. I'm sorry for the long wait. This chapter's been a long time coming and that has no excuse.
Inu hurried and got out of the parking lot faster than a derby racer could have. Once seated properly and belted, Kagome pulled out Sango's letter, unfolded it and read it silently.
The paper was crinkled, as if Sango had been debating on writing it or not.
Sango Letter
(Imagine Sango talking really fast and really preppy, thus the way this has to be read)
Kagome.
Oh my god. Kagome! He took me out to dinner- really nice Korean food place. I went over to meet his parents and we went down stairs to play pool. Well, during our second game- his dad came down and was totally smashed. I feel like such a little preppy middle school kid right now, writing a letter. Anyway, his dad and mom went to bed after his dad paid us a visit. I have to say he was really sweet about it, and pulled me real close- well, let's just say- I had the best night of my life. In slow terms that I know you want to hear, we did it. I'm blushing, I am. I'll let you call me now, and god forbid my parents find out…
Loves Yas, Sango
Kagome smiled, looking at Inu. Did he know? Probably. Guys couldn't keep a secret for their lives, she had no doubt that he knew. He glanced at her.
“Who was that girl?”
“No one. Did you know about Sango and Miroku?” She watched him as he drove, all man- no boy. The paper folded itself back up in her hands, her heart racing slightly.
“What about them? We haven't really gotten to talk lately.” He shrugged and took a glance at her, his eyes returning to the road rather fast.
“That they um…” She blushed. God forbid.
“Oh, no I didn't.” He smiled. “Miroku is really committed to her. He loves her. He's not usually attached enough to.”
They left it at that. The car got quiet again.
Kagome got to thinking. What was the envelope that I found then if not Sango's words? She bit the inside of her cheek thinking about it.
It was from the football player- no he had said something else- That it was from an old friend. That's right. She didn't have any friends. Perhaps it was the wrong person he had delivered it to. A thought occurred to her.
“Oh, next week- it's Souta's birthday. The week after that it's mine.”
Inu looked to the girl. Her voice sounded different. “Really? What is your family planning on doing?”
“I don't know. It's probably just going to be me and him for his. My mom's got to go to work that night.” Her fingers tapped the door. “Mine doesn't matter. There's no reason to celebrate it.” She was at loss of what to talk about really. It struck her that she shouldn't of said anything about her birthday. She'd be in for it now, she was sure.
“I'm sure we can get a few more people there.” Inu smirked at her and pulled up to the curb in front of her home. “Sango and Miroku would love to hang with the kid I'm sure. It's a party.”
Kagome smiled at him, her eyes meeting his. “Thanks Inu.” Her door opened slowly and she reached across the console to bring him closer to her, putting her lips to his. Kagome got out slowly, her backpack sliding out heavily. “I'll see you tomorrow.”

“Promise me you don't plan anything with Inu for my birthday!” Kagome tickled Sango blindly as they walked down the hall.
“Okay okay. No planning. Got it.” Sango stuck out her tongue.
“Swear to me.” Kagome almost pouted at her friend. She did scrunch up her nose at the pink tongue.
“I swear on my mother's grave.” The best friend held up her right hand, smiling.
“What grave?! Your mother is still alive.”
Sango laughed, looking at Kagome. The green shirt offset her friend. She wasn't like she used to be. A glance behind them snapped her back into perspective. “Bitch alert.”
Kagome grunted, for lack of better word. It was more in between a scream and the air being forced out of stomach by her gag reflex. “Great.”
“Lesbians at twelve.” Kikyou said as her group moved through the crowd.
“Barbie Bitch anytime of the day.” Sango commented back. Kagome rolled her eyes, and stood opening her locker. Just the start to a great day.
“Oh, Kagome- did you get my letter? You're friend got the school leach in bed. But he loves her, that he does- he was real sweet about it too.” The black headed girl said still walking.
“You see Kikyou, at least he's clean and disinfected, unlike you- the walking STD cabinet.” Kagome smiled to the girl, who was huffing at her.
“What would I do without you?” Sango whispered.
Kagome kissed her cheek. “Go straight.”
