Kikyou pulled him aside when Kagome walked away from him after lunch at the tree the next day. Her eyes held a hatred but at the same time were soft. “She knows.”

“She what?”

“She knows. I gave her a letter a few weeks back and she knows about you. She knows everything.”

“No she doesn't.” Inu said softly, looking around. “She would of said something.”

Kikyou shrugged. “Maybe she didn't actually read it yet.” The girl in front of him going into a wondering state.

Inu turned mad, and pushed her shoulders back into the tree, and looked down at her. “How dare you tell her! How dare you!” He let her go and stepped back. “We are good together. You won't get in the way of that.”

Kikyou looked up at him with doe eyes. “You don't belong with her Inu.”

“I belong with her more than I belong with you.” He retorted and then ran off, watching the ground.

Digging through her locker, she dumped almost everything out onto the floor. She had gotten permission from her teacher to go clean it out before the bell rang. She had a stack of papers she needed to go through in her back pack and was throwing the rest of everything away when the bell rang. She looked into her locker again, rearranging her band stickers and mirror. Sango had stuck a letter behind it a few days ago and Kagome never found it. Maybe it was in the stack.

Flipping through some papers she found an envelope. “Oh, that football player gave it to me…” Kagome whispered to herself. She tucked it in her pocket and riffled through the papers again. No letter.

“Damn it.” She frowned as the bell rang. People crowded the halls, and she sat under her locker watching them. She had worn her old attire today and Sango did her makeup like she used to.

Kagome had wanted to get back to her original self, but it seemed impossible with Inu around. He was walking down the hall smiling and staring only at her. It was beginning to annoy her how he was so bright and cheery and was trying to make her that way too. It wasn't what she was used to, but maybe she had adapted well. Sighing, she grabbed her back pack and ran through the papers again in hopes of finding the letter before he got to her. No such luck.

“Come on babe.” He held his hand out to her and everything seemed so surreal. People were looking at them smiling as if they knew something she didn't. Perhaps they did. She took his hand lifting herself up, along with her backpack. “Didn't do laundry last night did you?”

“Yes I did. I just wanted to wear something a little more me.” She smiled up at him, as he dipped his head to hers.

“You look better in blue.” He stated in a low tone.

Kagome shoved her shoulder back into his cheek. “I look good in everything. If you have a problem with what I wear, find another girlfriend.” She sped up, getting away from him easily in the crowd.

He chuckled. “I never said I had a problem with it. I just said you look better in blue.” He smiled, following her steadily through the crowd.

“We need to talk by the way.”

His face went slack.

Skip a beat.

“About what?” His voice had a slight tremor through it that she didn't quite pick up.

“Something I found today.” Her eyes flicked back to his. “It's nothing bad, I just figured something out that has been bugging me.” Relieved, he nodded and tried to settle his rapidly beating heart. “And I have some papers to go through that I pulled out of my locker.”

Sango popped out of the crowd, and handed Kagome a piece of paper. “I lied, I still had it…” She laughed. “Sorry.”

“No problem. I'll take it home and read it, I have other stuff to look through anyway.” Kagome shrugged. “I'll call.”

“Alright. Talk later then.” Sango departed as fast as she had appeared.

They never spent any time together anymore. She was always with Inu, and Sango as always with Miroku. Kagome felt lonely as Sango walked away. They had been so close and now…. Inu wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling he into him. “Come now. It's time to go.”

“Alright.” Her mouth moved before her brain did. They headed to his car.

There was a group beside it. Kagome recognized a few faces, but none that she really knew. The girl that Kagome spilt the drink on at the dance stepped forward. “I have a bone to pick with you.”

Kagome just quirked her eye brow. “Do you now?” Her fingers defensively slipped into her pocket around her knife. She wouldn't need it if it came to brute strength but it was her comfort for now.

“Yes I do.” The girl hissed.

“And you brought your groupies to do what?”

“Witnesses. Not groupies.”

Inu interjected. “Ladies, I'm sure we can work this out.”

Kagome snarled at his words, “Step back Inu. She wants to fight, let her come.” Her eyes looked up devilishly at him. “After all, I did start it.”

“That you did, wench.” The blonde said pulling Kagome's attention back to her.

“Go to the car, start it up. It won't take long.” Kagome sounded so sure that Inu had to comply.

The girl rushed her immediately, not giving her any time to breathe. Kagome couldn't help but smirk as the girl set herself up. Lunging at Kagome, she missed, an awful mistake. Kagome's fist connected with a deadened smack into the girl's cheek. She crumpled. God forbid. Her friends rushed forward to lick her wounds. Stupid drones.
