InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Her Fortitude ❯ finally found ( Chapter 2 )
Author's Note: I wish I had more reviews, but I'm bored, so I decided to update. Remember, if you're
confused or have questions, ask in your reviews. There'll be a lot in this story that will be
foreshadowed, but not revealed until later, which probably just leaves you more confused.
I'm sorry, but like I said, I'm new at writing, so bear with me and please review! P.S. This
is not an Inu/Kik fic. It's mostly about their daughter and her life. Kikyo might not even
show up in here, just in probably a flashback. Inuyasha will end up with Kagome, even
though this fic is not about them.
Disclaimer: I don't own anything that belongs to Rumiko Takahashi.
CHAPTER 2
`Hmm… this place hasn't changed much,' Hayden thought as she walked through Kaede's village. `I'll just wait for Inuyasha to show himself and in one swish, he'll be dead and I'll have one less thing to worry about anymore.'
Hayden had decided to reside in a vacant hut and wait for Inuyasha instead of searching for him when she had no idea where he could be. She had only heard rumors that he often shows up in this village, so she decided to wait.
--------------------------------
"Hurry up, wench!" called a certain hanyou boy who was starting to get on a certain girl's last nerve.
"I'm coming! Just hold on!" She panted as she dragged her heavy yellow backpack across the shrine grounds to the well house where Inuyasha was waiting. It wasn't her fault she had so much homework and catching up to do.
"You could at least help me with this, ya know!"
"Feh, whatever." Inuyasha just walked over and slung the backpack over one shoulder with ease and bent down for Kagome to climb on his back. Then he jumped into the well that connected their eras together.
When they reached the other side, Inuyahsa jumped out with Kagome still on his back. He set her down on the grass and they started walking toward Kaede's village. As they arrived, a little ball of fluff ran up to greet them.
"Kagome! You're back! I really missed you!" Shippo cried as he ran into her waiting open arms.
"I really miss you, too Shippo."
Inuyahsa was growing impatient as he wanting to get started on hunting for more jewel shards.
"Will you two stop yappin and hurry the hell up! I want to get started on finding shards!"
Shippo stuck his tongue at Inuyasha. "You should be more grateful. Without Kagome, you wouldn't even be able to find the pieces in the first place!"
"Why you little…"
"SIT!"
WHAM!
Inuyasha went slamming face first into the dirt.
"I swear Kagome, one of these days…."
"Oh be quiet and come on. And stop teasing Shippo so much"
"Feh."
They continued on their way to Kaede's hut, with Kagome in the front, Shippo nestled in her arms and Inuyasha was in the back, grumbling about bitches every now and then, but too quiet for Kagome to hear.
--------------------------------------------
"HENTAI!!!"
SLAP!
Inside Kaede's hut, Miroku was now sporting a big red slap mark across his face. Sango was trying to scoot as far away from him as possible. Kaede was gone taking care of someone in another hut and Miroku decided to cop a feel on Sango now that there were alone. Unfortunately for him, Sango knew him all too well and was prepared to take action.
Sango stood up. "Let's go monk. I hear Kagome and Inuyasha outside arguing again. It's time to get going anyway."
Miroku stood up as well and followed Sango out the door, although not too closely as he did not want another hand print in his face or worse. Inuyasha and Kagome stopped arguing once they saw Sango, Kirara, and Miroku heading towards them.
"You guys ready to go?" Inuyasha asked, somewhat irritated.
"And girls," Sango added. "and yes we are ready."
"Well let's go then. Kagome, do you sense any shards?"
"Yeah, but it seems kind of far and it's coming from over there." She pointed east towards the forest.
The group started walking, unknown they were being followed.
---------------------------------
Hayden was walking around, looking at little kids playing in front of their huts. She frowned remembering what her life was like, but pushed those thoughts away when she smelled something familiar.
`It must be him,' she thought. She turned to where the smell was coming from and saw him arguing with some strangely dressed girl. `Finally, now I can just kill you and head back home.' She drew her cloak higher on her head to make sure it wouldn't fall off and started to follow Inuyasha at a distance. `I wonder who all those people are with him. Oh well.' Hayden walked slowly and tried not to be too conspicuous, all the while forgetting about Inuyasha's nose.
-------------------------------------
"Wait a sec guys."
"What's wrong, Inuyasha?"
"I can smell something that's been following us for a while now. Be on your guard." Inuyasha put his hand next to his sword ready to draw it out and attack.
`Damn! I forgot about his nose!' Hayden cursed angrily at herself for forgetting such a thing. `Might as well show myself now that they know I'm here.' Hayden jumped from her hiding place in the trees and started walking towards the group.
"I do not want to harm any of you. I am only here for him." Hayden pointed towards Inuyasha
"Who are you and whadda ya want with me?!" Inuyasha could not tell who this person was.
"Who I'm am shouldn't matter to you as it never did, but I am here to avenge my mother, you bastard!"
"What are you talking about?!" Inuyasha was really confused now.
"Just shut up and prepare to die!" Hayden drew her sword and began to charge. Inuyasha also drew out his sword and placed it in front of him as it transformed, ready to defend himself.
As Hayden ran towards him, she did not notice when a root caught her cloak and caused it to fall off. Everyone gasped. `She looks like me, but with ears like Inuyasha and they're black. Her eyes are the same color as his though,' Kagome wondered as she stared at the young girl who seemed to be not much older than herself.
Inuyasha just stood there perplexed as he saw the girl. She seemed to be a hanyou like he was, but he could smell more human than demon in her. She started to look familiar to him. It couldn't be her could it? Inuyasha asked once again. "Who are you!?"
`Geez, he's persistent,' thought Hayden. "Well if you must know, though you needn't remember,
I am Hayden, Lady of the Western lands and your executioner. There, ya satisfied?!"
"But… I … thought…what…" Inuyasha's eyes rolled up in his head and for the first time in his life, he fainted.
Ya know this story started to sound good when it was in my head, but once I wrote it down, it seemed really different. Oh well. There is the 2nd chapter to my story. Any feedback, comments, suggestions, or questions would be appreciated, so don't forget to review or you can e-mail me at meanstupac@aol.com. Thanx and hope ya'll stick around for the 3rd chapter.
