InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Her Fortitude ❯ Secrets revealed ( Chapter 3 )

Hi there! I'm really happy because the new Harry Potter book is almost here! I really should be getting some sleep, but I'm an insomniac and so I decided to write some more. I repeat: THIS IS NOT AN INU/KIK FIC! She's just mentioned in some flashbacks for the sake of my character, Hayden whom this fic is about.

Disclaimer: I don't own Inuyasha except the shirtless pics of him that I printed.

CHAPTER 3

"But…I .. thought..what…" Inuyasha's eyes rolled up in his head and for the first time in his life, he fainted.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome ran quickly to his side to see if he was all right. "Wake up Inuyasha!"

Hayden had stopped running the moment Inuyasha fell over and now just stood there kinda confused about what just happen. "Umm, this has never really happened before and being the good sport that I am, I'll just wait for him to wake up before attacking him, ok?" And with that said, she just plopped herself on the ground and folded her arms in her sleeves Inuyasha style.

Everyone else seemed to suddenly remember that Hayden was there and Sango was the first to speak. "Umm, just who exactly are you? And why do you want to fight Inuyasha?"

"Oh, I'm sorry. I have been rude haven't I? Well, he kind killed my mom and caused me to be an orphan."

"Well are you sure it was Inuyasha? And when would he have time to do something like that? He was sealed to a tree for 50 years and how could you know he did it 50 years ago when you look no older than 16 or 17 and….'

Hayden interrupted "The reason I know is because I was told so 45 years ago when I was 5. I actually am 50 years old, but because I'm a hanyou, I age slower than that of a human."

Kagome was getting more confused ever since this girl had arrived. "How come you look like me and Inuyasha?" she curiously asked while holding Inuyasha's head in her lap, hoping he'd wake up soon.

"I have no idea why I look like you. I've never seen you in my life. I have been told that I look like my mother though. And the reason I look like that halfbreed is because I'm his…"

"Ughh…."

Kagome looked down in her lap to see Inuyasha stirring. "Inuyasha! Are you ok?"

"What happened?"

Hayden stood up. "So you're finally awake. Now let's continue what we started." She started to pull out her sword.

"You're still here?" Inuyasha asked, fully conscious now.

"Well, yeah. I came to kill you, duh." She talked as though she was stating the obvious.

"Wait! If you are who you say you are, then I don't want to fight you."

"That's surprising. I never heard of you to show mercy before or are you scared?"

"That's not it. I just….."

Hayden chose to listen no further. "I'll see you in hell!" Then she started to charge at him once again.

Inuyasha stood his ground, not even reaching for his sword to defend himself. "Would you just stop and listen to me!?"

Hayden stopped for a minute to answer. "Why should I?! You're the one who told my mother you loved her. Then, you rape her and killed her a month after I was born and abandoned me!"

Everyone just stood there in shock. "WHAT?!"

Kagome spoke up. "Inuyasha would never do something like that. Maybe it was someone else." She just couldn't believe Inuyasha had a daughter and had never told them.

"How dare you call me a liar. I know it was him. My aunt resides in the village you just came from. She told all about you as well as the villagers. My mother's ashes are buried in the same village."

Something clicked in Kagome's brain. "Wait you mean Kikyo was your mom!?" She suddenly felt something painful inside her heart, but forced herself not to cry, at least not now.

"Yes. The well respected priestess Kikyo was my mom and this sicko just wanted to have `fun' with her before he killed her off!"

Inuyasha knew how Kagome must have felt after hearing that. He loved her, but didn't know how she would feel towards him now. He was also confused as to why Kaede had never told him about her after he had been revived.

"Hayden," he said in a low voice, "I would never do anything to hurt your mom. I.. I loved her and I loved you. It was all a big setup."

"I've heard enough of your lies. Now die!"

Inuyasha had been looking down when he spoke with his fists clenched. He had not realized how close Hayden when she jumped ready to strike. She had come to fast for Inuyasha and he did not have enough time to draw his weapon. Hayden was coming down closer when she suddenly let out a cry and fell to the ground unconscious, just missing Inuyasha.

"What…."

Sango caught her boomerang. "I'm sorry Inuyasha but I had to. Don't worry. She's just knocked out. We should probably get her back to the village before she wakes."

"Right."

Miroku, Shippo, and Sango rode on Kirara, while Inuyasha carried Hayden. Kagome just rode her bike behind the others and Inuyasha cast a worried glance at her. He would talk with her later, but first he had to talk with his long lost daughter.

There is the 3rd chapter. It's my shortest chapter so far. I still trying to work out kinks in this story and trying to think of and ending. Well, there you go! Please don't forget to review. PS: I'm not very good at interactions between characters and since this fic is mostly about Hayden, there might not be a lot of dialogue from Shippo, Miroku, or Sango.
