A loud crash of lightning woke Kagome in the middle of the night. She couldn't remember what she had been dreaming of but her eyes were full of tears. Kagome felt wide awake she could feel her stomach cramping up. She decided to make her way to the kitchen to get a bite to eat. Just before she reached her door she heard a scraping noise, she turned in time to Inuyashas silhouette come through the window. “Inuyasha”?

Kagomes voice rang out in the room that as dimly lit by a nearly full moon.

“HMPH.. So you really are just going to leave me like that, you're not even going to give it a second thought”.

Kagome lowered her head.

“The past three years have been so painful, I don't want to leave you but I have no choice. I can't leave my family I can't run away from my life. I have to stay here this is where I belong”.

Inuyasha walked closer to Kagome and pulled her to him. When that happened Kagome completely broke down and buried her head as deep into Inuyashas chest as she could. Inuyasha sat back on the bed and let Kagome lie on his chest and cry her self to sleep.

Kagome woke up with the sun in her face, she sat up and looked at her window wondering for a moment why it had been opened. Then she remembered, Inuyasha.

Kagome looked all around her room and found no site of him.

“ Did he go home”? Kagome asked herself.

She got up, dressed and headed down stairs. Kagome could hear her mothers laughter in the hall way, she peeked in the kitchen and saw Inuyasha fumbling around the stove and her mother standing next to him laughing loudly.

“What are you two doing” Kagome finally made her entrance.

“I'm cooking you breakfast.. What does it look like”.

Kagome sat at the table and allowed her to be served. She sat there at the table eating the food that Inuyasha had cooked for her and listening to her mother and him chat. Kagomes thought were every where she didn't really know what she was thinking about. The truth was she was trying not to think of the decision she would ultimately have to make before to long. After breakfast Kagomes mother asked her if she and Inuyasha would run a few errands for her.

The sky was starting to get grey she grabbed her umbrella stuck a hat on inuyashas head and they headed out. As usual Inuyashas outfit was causing a lot of heads to turn. Kagome tugged Inuyasha into a shop.

“You're going to have to wear something else”. Kagome walked further into the shop and started looking through clothes.

“What's wrong with what i'm wearing”? Inuyasha seemed a bit insulted. “ You never made me change the way I looked before”.

“I'm tired of people thinking I'm dating a weird gang member”. Kagome thrust a few things at him and pointed to a changing room.. Inuyasha went in and after twenty minutes Kagome started to worry.

Kagome stepped over to the changing area.

“Inuyasha .. You ok?

“I'm not coming out I look ridiculous “

Kagome forced the door open and pulled him out.

“You look very nice. These clothes are very becoming .. Wait where are the shoes”?

“I'm not wearing any shoes, I never have and I'm not starting now”.

Kagome was furious when they left the store. Even though Inuyasha was dressed right people still stared at him for not wearing any shoes.

The whole day was a wreck. Between Inuyasha picking fights and breaking things it was becoming difficult for Kagome to keep her patients. Finally Kagome and Inuyasha were finished with there errands and they were able to head home.

The rain had started and the wind was picking up. Again they were getting stared at because Inuyasha refused to use and umbrella. When they reached the temple away from others ears Kagome finally said all she had to say.

“Inuyasha, you ruining all the new clothes I just bought you. You're also barefoot and you could get sick. You also need to stop being paranoid. I mean why were you starting fights with people today? There was no reason for that”.

Inuyasha turned to Kagome with an angry look on his face.

“Look woman I've been doing things this way my whole life and I don't plan on changing any time soon”.

Kagome had dropped the umbrella. The rain became heavier and lightning flashed all around.

“Inuyasha, I want you to stay here with me, but you can't keep doing these things. People will notice and that won't be good”.

“Feh who said I wanted to stay here with you? I like every thing the way it is. I can just go home and be myself and I won't have anyone there to try and change me”.

Kagomes face changed from mad to sad.

“Well what do you want to do Inuyasha, if you're not willing to try and make things work here than just go home. Go home and don't come back. It only hurts me more when you leave me and keep coming back. This is it Inuyasha. Make your decision”.

Inuyasha kissed Kagome on the forehead.

“I'm sorry I couldn't be the man you wanted me to be”.

With that Inuyasha left Kagome to walk the rest of the way home by herself.

Tears streamed down her face, and she knew this was the end of it.

“Why couldn't I just tell him I love him? Then maybe it all wouldn't matter and he would have stayed anyway”.
