Sesshoumaru had been in the western courtyard practicing with his fang the Tokijin, it was a sword he had forged from the fangs of one of Naraku's minions that was settled in the South. It was just as he was about to strike at the far statuette in the court when he had heard a scream that pierced through the air. They had called his name, but he did not recognize the voice, he slid the sword back into the sheath, it was definitely a feminine voice but to young to be Kagura's…..that only left……..Rin.

He immediately transformed into his quickest shape, light, and headed for source of the voice, probably the gardens since that was where she spent most of her time. He was there in an instant, landed and snarled when he recognized the man and disgusting scent before him.

Naraku turned a smile on his features as if he had played into his hands. Sesshoumaru drew his sword and was about to attack without hesitation when Naraku moved to the side. There behind him was the limp form of Rin, her throat cut deeply and the smell of death emanating from her.

His anger was now rolling off of him in waves, how had Naraku managed to cross his borders with his knowledge and worse yet, why had he felt the need to kill a human child that was of no importance to him.

“So we meet at last Lord Sesshoumaru.” Waving his hand behind him he spoke again, “I apologize for the mess I have left in your garden though; perhaps you should call your wolves and allow them to feed on her, although she is mostly bone and flesh.”

Sesshoumaru had only been in his presence mere moments and he already wanted to rip him to shreds slowly, he felt his demonic aura fluctuate and it took all of his will power not to transform into a beast. It would do him no good to transform to that size, he'd heard about Naraku's fighting style and he would be left at a disadvantage, he'd have to end this now on foot.

Gripping his sword tighter he leapt forward, “This ends now Naraku, I will rid this world of your stench.” Naraku's eyes widened for a fraction of a moment before he too moved, barely missing the blade. Another sword materialized out of flesh from his arm and met Sesshoumaru's as it came down again. Tentricles poured out from under his attire two of them heading for their enemy while the sword fighting continued.

Sesshoumaru used his left hand to release his poison whips to cut off the limbs before unleashing another wave of attacks on his upper body. No blood came from his body, instead everywhere that Sesshoumaru cut with either blade or whip came more tentricles.

Naraku shot forward just as Sesshoumaru's feet touched the ground, “Dance of Blades!” Was heard and hundred of bright crescent shaped blades came crashing down at Naraku immediately sending him falling forward, his lower limbs gone. “Now Sesshoumaru!”
Kagura called from the sky.

“Go to hell Naraku.” Sesshoumaru wielded the Tokijin high before unleashing a wave of neon blue onto the fallen creature. The ground shook from the force of the fang and when the dust finally settled there was a large crater where Naraku used to be; only small pieces were found scattered.

As Kagura landed off her feather Sesshoumaru interrupted her train of though, “Go and bring Jaken, have him search the lands and burn any remains of that bastard.”

“Yes but the-

“Go now Kagura, we must act now before he can recreate himself.” He bit out at her.

“Yes Sesshoumaru,” she said before jumping back on her feather and heading back to the castle where the imp would be.

Sesshoumaru walked over to the edge of the crater where the body of young Rin still remained. Picking her up he could sense that no life was in her. Sheilding his Tokijin he reached for his other sword at his hilt. The fang his father had left him had been of more use than he would have ever thought. It had already restored Kagura's heart back to her and now it pulsed and emitted a deep blue as he held the blade near Rin. Placing the girl back on the ground he held the blade out above her. It pulsed stronger this time and saw four gremlin like creatures hovering over her body.

He slashed the creatures away and waited. This would be the first time he'd brought back someone from the dead and he was unsure of the results. The wind blew, moving a few strands of Rin's hair into her face. He knelt down next to her still cold unmoving body and tucked the strands behind her ear. And then he heard it……her heart.

“uugggghhh…….” She said, moving slightly at first and then fluttered her eyes open and sat up slowly. Rubbing her eyes as if she'd just woken from a dream she peered up into her master's eyes.

“Lord Sesshoumaru?”

The lord said nothing as he stood up again and reseathed the Tenseiga. Turning his back to the girl he began to walk away, only making eye contact with a smiling Kagura and a dumbfounded Jaken before heading back to the castle.

Kagura made her way to the girl, she'd seen her dead only moments before and it was obvious to her what had happened. “Miss Kagura Rin is hungry, can we go eat now?”

Kagura staggered, the girl had just spoken to her like it was the most natural thing to do, and with a sentence. She nodded helping the girl to stand, “Lunch should be ready at the castle Rin, let's go.”

The younger girl nodded happily and began skipping towards the castle leaving an equally happy Kagura behind her. I hope you rot in hell for what you've done you bastard.

“Staff of two heads!” “Staff of two heads!” “Staff of two heads!” “Hey wait for me you two, I'm hungry too!” A green toad-like imp was seen running after the two females.

Three months later

“Master JA-ken… Where did you go? Why won't you play with me anymore?” Rin asked as she searched the great hall for her tutor.

Throwing open one large brown door Jaken called, “Rin I am your tutor not your doll, if you wish to play games ask that witch to play with you, now hurry up we have to do your lesson before supper.”

The girl with a side pony-tail giggled, “Master Jaken you know that if Miss Kagura hears you calling her a witch again she's going to get you!”

“Ah! As if that windy witch would dare to mess with me! Lord Sesshoumaru would skin her alive!” He tossed back; a bit insulted that Rin would think he was no match for that wench that lived in the castle. “Now settle down Rin, this is a rather complicated kanji lesson and you're going to have to concentrate.”

The young girl only nodded before sitting down at the other end of the large desk and clasped her hands together to watch her teacher. He wasn't really a patient person, and he lost his temper easily, but Rin discovered that if she tried her best and gave him `the puppy dog eyes' he wouldn't be so bad.

He'd only been teaching her for three months and he was surprised to find out that she knew how to write and read. Seeing as how she'd been with Naraku he thought she may have been too traumatized to school, but instead she was an avid learner and always eager to please.

“Come Rin, let us go or you'll be late for dinner and then Sesshoumaru will have my head.”

Placing her feathered pen down the girl chased after Jaken who was already headed for the hall, “Master Jaken you know that Sesshoumaru would not do that.” She added as they walked.

“Of course not Rin! That is just a saying, now go into the hall and mind your manners.” He said a bit harshly as he opened the main door to the dinning hall. “Yes Master Jaken.” The girl said bowing and then heading into the hall. I think I liked her better mute. Jaken thought before shutting the door behind her.

Her Lord and Kagura were already seated, quietly discussing something. She bowed before each of them, “Good evening Lord Sesshoumaru, Miss Kagura.”

The two nodded, both use to Rin's new discovery of speech and dinner was immediately set out on the table. Halfway though Sesshoumaru spoke spooking everyone else, “Kagura, tomorrow you will take Rin to the weapons quarters and teach her how to fight a few of them.”

Silence dragged on……. “As you wish.” Kagura spoke not really sure why he would even suggest she do this. For how long is he going to keep the girl?

“Jaken will still continue to tutor her so you must find time outside her studies to work with her.” Taking a drink of his wine he continued, “After you have taught her all you can, then you will go and find Bankotsu and his men to train her.”

“What?!” She asked sputtering her wine as she did. It came out before she could stop it, and he was just as surprised as she raising an elegant brow. “What I mean is……well…”
She was completely at loss of words, Sesshoumaru's actions were completely off the wall. Why is he doing this?

“Rin is a human Kagura, living in a castle with demons completely surround her will leave her at a disadvantage, and I will hold no weakness in my court.” His words were chilling and she felt like a kid who was just disciplined by their parent.

“Of course Sesshoumaru.” She said all appetite lost. Looking over at the girl in question she found that the girl was only eating completely unaware of the conversation. After dinner the young girl approached Kagura, “Miss Kagura is training with you a bad thing?”

“What? No of course not Rin.”

Taking the older woman's hand with her own, “Then why were you sad that Lord Sesshoumaru asked you to train me?”

“That is not why I was upset Rin, I simply do not like Bankotsu.” The scarlet eyed woman said before leading Rin back to Jaken.

“We begin in the morning before breakfast alright? So don't forget, meet me in the north hall.”

“Yes Miss Kagura.” Rin said as she bowed deeply and went into the room.

What in the hell is Sesshoumaru planning. Is he really going to keep a human in his court?
