Chapter 5

“Whaaaaaa. Whaaaaaahaaaaaaaaa---”

The cries echoed in the room, the child hide behind the bed. His tears were heavy and fell down his face in floods only to drop of his chin onto his cloths. His hands in tiny fits over his face.

Suddenly the door opened gently and in stepped someone. It was a boy with dark hair in a nice cut with a few bangs hanging over his eyes. He walked over to the child and knelled down. His hand reached out and petted the little head.

“What happened?”

The child looked up with big wet eyes. When he saw who it was he bit his lower lip before leaping forward and hugged the older kid with a heartbreaking “Brother.”

The older brother wrapped his arms around the child and held him close. He made soothing sounds and tried his best to calm him down.

“Mom, mom.....” the child sobbed.

The older child pushed back a little and finally saw the bruiser on the baby's cheek. He touched it tenderly with a pitying look in his eyes. “I've told you to stay away from mom when she's in a bad mode.”

The child nodded but continued to sniff. “I-I just wanted to show her my test. Do mom hate me, brother?”

“No.” he tried to sound reassuring. “She just have a rough time now. Dad too.” he smiled gently as he pulled his little brother into another hug. “No matter what happens I will always protect you. Remember that InuYasha.”

“Mmm.” the child nodded.

Sesshoumaru looked down at the letter in his hand. He hadn't even bothered to open it and he had already torn it in half. The same writing on the front, addressed to him. He felt slightly irked that the letters kept coming one after another.

He threw it in the nearest bin and walked away with a 'humph'. He walked over to the living room and back to his studies. Lately the market had hit bad times and he had to keep an eye on it to keep his invested money from going bad. InuYasha didn't know it and frankly didn't anyone but he was one of the most known names in the market, since he began to take an interest when he was 15.

At first he hadn't understood and lost money but now he understood it perfectly and had made a small fortune that he was saving for now. He didn't always want to live in this house and to live on his own required money, money that he didn't have seven years ago.

Long ago he wanted to leave the house and take InuYasha with him, away from their parents but ever since their folks were more and more less home he hadn't found it so bad since he had to take care of his little brother.

Who was he kidding? He didn't even consider them parents anymore because of the way they had treated their children. As far as he was concerned they were dead. He had removed their picture long ago and any other material that would remind them.

He rarely had a good memory when he thought back on his childhood. Mostly of it consisted of protecting InuYasha from their parents. His innocent little brother didn't know anything, still didn't.

Their mom had fallen into depression after InuYasha was born, because of various reasons and become stressed out. Their father had been working all the time but it was soon clear that he was having an affair. Their mom flipped and took it out on her children when it got bad.

He had taken it. If it meant protecting InuYasha he could take the slaps and hits and spitting remarks. If only InuYasha didn't have to see their mother like that.

Then it had come down to *that* accident. The day that had almost killed him. Obviously he survived but the damage had been severe. He had been hospitalized for 2 months and during those days his raven black hair had turned pure white from the shock. So even though his wounds from that day had healed and his body was back to normal there were an eternal sign to remind him every time he saw himself in the mirror.

After that their father had come back and took responsibility but Sesshoumaru was outside his reach and since Sesshoumaru didn't trust him anymore he couldn't get near InuYasha either. Neither did their mom that finally realized her errors. Maybe it had been his fault that they weren't home anymore. His resentment toward them had taken a toll and driven them away just as they had driven away him.

Sesshoumaru came back from his musing of the past. Shaking his head he made sure to hide those thoughts.

No matter what happened, InuYasha would never know what had happened in the past. Never.

Much later when InuYasha had come home and they were sharing their private time, sitting around the table in the living room. Sesshoumaru asked, “Do you have any plans this Sunday?”

InuYasha looked up from the book in front of him, happy for some distraction. “Not much. I just thought I would hang around the house and see what happens.”

Sesshoumaru's face turned somewhat sour. “What about that.... woman?” he found the very thought of saying her name or relationship to InuYasha repulsive.

“She said she were going to visit her grandma so she won't be around for the weekend.”

“I see.” he said with his heart feeling lighter. “Then.... keep Sunday open because there is some place I want to take you.”

“Like you haven't already.” InuYasha hit back.

The older brother smiled satisfied. “True but you can't say that you haven't found it enjoyable.”

“You're ego is just as big as you are an ass. Pervert!”

“Of course. And with pride if I might add. But if you can't get enough of me then it can't be helped.” InuYasha barely had time to say no before he felt a hand beginning to un-bottom his pants.

“Hey, what are you doin-- ah!”

The hand had gone down his boxers and were now playing with him. He bit his lip as the feelings were rushing over him.

Sesshoumaru leaned forward and whispered, “Don't be so hasty or else you will miss the fun.” he licked InuYasha's earlobe and smirked when he began to stroke InuYasha's shaft his hips moved with him. “I'm not a very patient person but I just love to see you surrender under my touch. Absolutely lovely.”

“Hey!” InuYasha said between gritted teeth, his breathing fast. “Don't just go and---AAAAHHHHHHH!”

With a shudder he came and collapsed forward on the table. His bangs fell down over his face and he tried to catch his breath.

Sesshoumaru removed his hand and licked his digits with a smirk. InuYasha blushed and looked away as he saw that.

“You don't know what you do to me, my love.” he lay his head down on the table to so they were side by side. “My InuYasha.” The arm that were closest were placed over InuYasha's back and held him close while they said and did nothing more until they went to bed.

As promised the next Sunday InuYasha had kept it free and even turned down an offer from his friends at school. He had no idea what Sesshoumaru had planned or where they were heading. All he knew was that they had been driving for about an hour out of town.

The younger one looked at the driver and for a second wondered what would happen. For once Sesshoumaru had his hair free instead of the ponytail he supposedly preferred while at home. One hand masterly moving the wheel while he rested his arm over the open window. The breeze that entered were mild, the warmth from the day still lingering.

The car pulled up on a side road and after just five additional minutes stopped.

“We're here.”

“This is what you wanted to show me? The mountains?” InuYasha looked confused around. True they were on a cliff overlooking the valley where their home was but still.... it was only a town.

“Don't kill the moment and just come with me.” Sesshoumaru said a little hurt before he stepped out of the car.

InuYasha couldn't do much else but follow. This felt lame beyond compare.

“This way.” Sesshoumaru said as he walked ahead. When he came to a stop he just looked ahead.

“I don't understand why you brought me here.” his hand was caught and he were pulled closer.

“Just watch.”

Sesshoumaru held him in his arms while they faced the view which in InuYasha's eyes failed to impress him but not to disappoint his brother he said nothing but just watched as the sun settled over the valley. The normal blue to red to orange to yellow were all there.

He couldn't say it to Sesshoumaru's face but he was disappointed. He had actually hoped for a great day but it had been normal and now this. Sometimes he just didn't understand his broth---

InuYasha's eyes widen greatly as the sky changed in front of his eyes. The normal display of colours had over gone to a waterfall of northern lights. All colours he could image, one mixed to the next moved over the sky as the sun were giving its all before sleeping. The show was amazing, no, beyond amazing. He could never had believed anything like this existed in their town. How could he had missed this his whole life.

Bonds of colours danced together as they faded away.

InuYasha couldn't help the small sound of disappointment he felt before the sight were gone.

It felt like he had watched a dream. Something so beautiful and wonderful he would never forget.

“You can only see it from here if it's a cloud free night. It's gone after just a few minutes but I think it's worth it.”

“Yes.” InuYasha agreed. “It's really worth it.”

For a moment Sesshoumaru was taken back by how spaced out his little love was but happy at the same time that it was a success. His hold on InuYasha grew stronger for a moment and he didn't want to let go.

“Brother?” a small voice asked.

The bed ridden child opened his eyes. His white hair now sprayed over the pillow while he tried to stay awake.

“What InuYasha?” he asked while covering a small hand that held onto his bed cover.

“Do you still hurt?”

“No I'm all right.”

“Really?”

“Really.” his eyes were falling close every second now and he knew he would fall sleep any moment now but...

“Brother...” asked his little brother again, looking at him with shy eyes. “I can't sleep.”

Without much thought he lifted the cover for InuYasha who quickly crawled under and snuggled up to him. The warmth from his older brothers body made him smile.

“Sleep... now.” It sounded more to him than to InuYasha but he couldn't care less at the moment. His eyes closed and he felt how small arms hugged him as he fell into the world of dreams. Laying on his side gave little movement for his arms but his free arm inched across the cover to hold the boy close, to make sure he was OK.

It might had been then that his feelings began to change but he wouldn't realize it until many years later when he was old enough and knew how forbidden his feelings were.

But right now he was at the tender age of 13 and the world around him had just begun to change.

To be continued.
