Rin was really surprised, when Kagome and Sango told her, that they are going to stay here.
- Are you sure about that? I mean, after all, what happened, - she was sitting in bed, healthy flush playing on her cheeks - she was so glad when they came, that at first could only shyly smile.
- Well, what can I say, - said Sango. - The circumstances are stronger than we are. Ugh, forget it… How are you doing?
- Great! The wound is almost healed thanks to Kaede's treatment… I'm still feeling a bit weak, but she says that I'll be on my feet in a day.
- That's good! - said Kagome gladly. - Maybe than you can show us around the place… and we'll spend some time together! It'll be fun!
Rin lowered her head.
- I'm sorry. But… I'll have to return to my master as soon as I recover.
- Argh, Rin, you can't be someone's property! You are free and have a right to choose your own way! - exclaimed Sango.
- But Sango, she tried to ran away, didn't she? - disagreed Kagome. - And look what happened - she almost got killed!
- You saved me and I will always be grateful to you for that… but my life belongs to my master.
Sango opened her mouth to say something, but Kagome stopped her.
- Don't. It's for her to decide.
Kaede and Miroku still haven't returned, so the girls decided to stay with their new friend for longer.
- By the way, don't you guys need some clothes? - asked Rin with a smile.
Sango and Kagome exchanged glances.
- Oh, yeah!!!
Rin pointed at a door in the corner of the room.
- Maybe you can find something over there.
Sango opened the door and gasped.
- Wow! Kag, just look at that! A whole store of clothes!!!
- Oh, Kami! I could live here!!!
- It's called "in case of emergency", - explained Rin. - Pick anything you like. Self service.
The girls let out a fighting call and the plundering began…

- Whoa, what do you think I am?! A professional porter?! You'll have to order a caravan of camels to transport these! And I'm not doing it! No way!
- Like… ehm… like ple-e-ease… like ehm… Miroku, - asked Sango giving him a begging look. - Like… ehm… pretty ple-e-ease.
He immediately took the huge bags with clothes and sighed.
- A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do!
- We'll see you tomorrow Rin! - said Kagome. - Goodnight!
- Thanks for coming, guys. Goodnight.
They followed Miroku, who led them to the familiar room, where they've spent the previous night.
- Hey, can't we get a normal room?! This one sucks! There are even no windows in here! And we had to use the bathroom in Rin's room! - Sango was outraged.
- Sorry baby. I have my orders. Besides, it'll be safer for you in here!
- Ugh, get lost!
- Does that mean I don't get a goodnight kiss? - he wondered.
- Hell no! - Sango pushed him out of the room and slapped the door.
- I think he likes ya, - said Kagome, when they were in beds.
- Night, Kagome. - Sango turned off the light for Kagome not to notice her blush.

Kagome woke up from a strange sound. She thought she heard something scratching on the door. The girl set on the bed, listening. But everything was quiet and now she could only here her friend's steadily breath.
- Probably it was in my dream, - she thought to herself and was going to get back to sleep, when the sound repeated. Now it was louder and more annoying. There actually was something scratching on the door.
Kagome got out of bed and tried to wake up her friend.
- Sango, get up.
- Wha-a-a?
- There's something at the door.
- Huh? - Sango yawned and listened. - Oh, shit. Do you think something is trying to get inside?
Kagome turned on the light.
- I dunno. Maybe it'll go away if we stay quiet.
Then the sound stopped. Suddenly it was followed by a loud crush. The girls screamed - a big crack appeared on the door.
- Sango! It's trying to get into the room!
- It must be a demon! One of those that Miroku warned us about!
- Do you think… it's hungry?!
They heard low growling behind the door was the answer to her question. Then there came another strike. The door cracked and the girls saw a large scaly paw with sharp claws.
- Yikes!!!
- Stay calm! - Sango grabbed a chair and at this very moment the door flied to pieces and huge lizard-like demon appeared in the room
Sango tried to hit it with a chair, but a large paw threw her aside. She bumped into the wall.
- Sango! - cried out Kagome, stepped back and feel to the floor. The demon turned his head to her and jumped forward.
- No-o-o-o!
Kagome saw a huge opened mouth and then suddenly the demon let out a loud cry of pain and feel down, cut in two halves with a shining sword.
Inuyasha.
Miroku, who also appeared in the room, rushed to Sango.
- Sango! Sango! You ok?
She opened her eyes and gave him a look.
- Duh, stupid. It takes more that a lousy ol' lizard to take me out! And get your hands of me!!!
- The only way to escape a temptation is to yield it! - said Miroku giving her a smile that would have melted solid steel, although it didnÒ't have much effect on Sango.
- Ugh! That's plagiarism - Oscar Wild said that, - she pointed out.
- I know. He was a smart guy and probably knew what he was talking about.
Kagome still wosn't moving, looking at Inuyasha like hypnotized. Silvery hair and silvery shadows under his eyes, in the corner of his lips.
He held out a slender hand and spoke lightly.
"Get up."
She took the proffered hand and got to her feet, trying pull his hand out of his, but Inuyasha didn't let go.
- Come, - he said. - We'll find you a safer place.
- Ye, but where? - wondered Miroku, as they were walking in a dark long corridor. - All the rooms are occupied before the Ball.
- In the north wing.
- The north wing? But isn't that… - the monk began and choked.
The rest of the way was spent in silence, untill they reached the part of the mansion that was called the north wing. Kagome was so sleepy, that opened her eyes only when they stopped. She tried to pull her hand of of Inuyasha's again and this time he let go and pointed at the door.
- This is your new room, - he turned to Sango. - And yours it opposite. Here you both will be safe, - and added, before walking away. - At ten o'clock in the morning you will go to the meeting room. It is at the end of the corridor and then to the left.
Miroku arched an eyebrow, but didn't say anything. He followed Inuyasha, leaving the girls alone.
- Well… I guess it's better that nothing, - Sango yawned. - Night Kag.
- Night.
They parted. Doors opened and closed. Then they were loud gasps of amazement, heard even in the corridor. Then silence.
A/n: Hey, biganimefan. I usually don't do lemons in first chapters, I put them somewhere in the middle. But I didn't rate this story NC-17 for nothing! Actually, it's even more of a novel that a story.
