Chapter 14 - Sweetness

 

Shitenshi abandoned a whispered conversation with her grandmother and walked over to grab Mujinku's hand. “'Ri's doing some shopping, so if your folks said alright, then we're on our own for the rest of the afternoon.”

 

“Mine said ok, but no more curfew-breaking.”

 

“Fair enough. Bye everyone!” Shitenshi called as Mujinku waved to his departing parents. “Come on!” She grabbed his hand and pulled him down the sidewalk towards a nearby park.

 

“Hey, why the rush?” Mujinku laughed as she pulled him along. From behind, he couldn't help but notice the firm toned muscles of her back and the flawless tanned skin that hid beneath her wings and the straps of her backless top.

 

Ah, don't look, unless you want a mouthful of dirt. Remember what Ship said about pops?

 

Feh. I don't have a rosary.

 

Do you really think that will stop her?

 

Keh.

 

“I want to talk to you.” Shitenshi's voice was light and carefree, but Mujinku felt his ears flatten in unease.

 

“Okaaaaay.”

 

She looked back and giggled at his wary face. “Honestly, it's nothing bad, I just want to get away from prying eyes and ears.” She jerked her head in the general direction of the restaurant.

 

“OK, if you put it like that.” Mujinku slightly quickened his pace until he was next to the girl before reducing his speed to match hers. A good ways into the park he spied a bench under a tree and dragged the hanyou female over to it, plopping down beside her. “So what did you want to talk abou-”

 

Mujinku's words were cut off as Shitenshi leaned forward and pressed her lips to his. The fire sparked by her kiss raged through his brain, leaving so survivors. He felt her hands slide over his shoulders and wrapped his own around her waist. They were unsure of how much time passed until a need for oxygen pulled their lips apart.

 

“That's what I wanted to talk about.” Purple eyes shone as she whispered into his neck.

 

“I like this kind of `discussion.'” Mujinku murmured back.

 

Shi giggled, coiling one of his dragontails around her finger. “Can I see them?” She asked, creeping her fingers up to his bangs and the edge of his bandana.

 

“Sure.”

 

She gently pulled back the cloth, letting it slide down his pony tail and fall to the grass. Slowly, protesting having been pushed flat, his furry triangle ears rose as each twitched in a different direction. Shitenshi ran one finger along the edge of the nearest ear, causing it to rotate and dislodge her hand. She giggled and latched on firmly, rubbing slightly.

 

Mujinku allowed her a moment to explore his ears before drawing her into a kiss again. The hand that had been playing with his soft ears dropped to his back, pulling them closer together. When they finally gasped for air, Mujinku dragged her into his arms. Shitenshi was content to lay her head on the boy's shoulder and listen to his heart pulsing below her ever-sensitive ear.

 

As their breathing slowed back to normal, Mujinku began stroking the bare skin of her shoulder blades, ghosting his finger around the joints where the leathery wings connected to her back. “`Tenshi?”

 

“Hmmm?”

 

“Can you really take me flying sometime?”

 

“Course.”

 

“Thanks. I-” Shi felt Mujinku stiffen beneath her and raised her head. His ears were moving sporadically and an evil grin lit his face. “We have a golden opportunity” He whispered, eyes twinkling, “For a bit of fun.”
