InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ If I had three wishes ❯ Chapter five ( Chapter 6 )
Notes: ladies and gentleman, entry of the hot demon guys and all the others… I hope to finally have anything
set for the real plot by end of this Chapter, I also want to remind you that Kagome is in a sort of basic training
camp and not in the real unit yet, so excuse the fast forward in some ways, and for those who like Kikyo.. sorry,
she's a bitch.. and I really, really don't like her. Oh and guys, is anybody reading this anyway? (expect for tom)
how about giving a review… huh?
CHAPTER FIVE
Kagome had been right, at least as far it concerned her new Home; it wasn't that bad after all. The
laughing Children that she had heard -so she learned- were Sango's brother Ito Kohaku and a fox-
demon boy named Mori Shippou, who she knew for some strange reason already. He lived in the
house since his parents had been killed in the last political escalation in last June, what explained that
he looked familiar to the girl's eyes. After all she had heard of it in the news and seen him there
together with a guy with dog ears; there had been a protest march in Kyoto, lead by demons who
wanted the same rights for them as the human people had, resulting in a fight between the sides and
a riot that had overrun the half city. Sango had explained that the boy's father had been killed out of
accident by two of their own who had gone berserk in some sort of blood rush. (1) Not the only one
going berserk as she heard shortly afterwards, Kato Rin had also lost her parents and went through
worse things than that, leaving her shy, alone and silent.
She could not be much older than perhaps 15 or even younger and didn't look that healthy at all,
especially the scar down her throat was worrying Kagome. At least the two seconds she saw her on
the hall before the teenager vanished in her room again. Sango didn't want to tell and Kagome had not
really wanted to ask what had happened to the young girl, so they left it there and not even the man
behind them tried to give a comment.
Miroku got his own room - what smashed his dream of being a roommate with Kagome- and clear
order to not do his hentai on any girl in the house because he would feel really, really sorry
afterwards. Kagome got a nice room too and settled down there quickly before it got dinner down in
the kitchen where Sango explained the rules shortly after all had finished their food; especially loud
for Miroku who had tried his routine again on her behind.
They were free to wander around in the housing grounds between 6 in the morning and 10 in the
evening as long as they had their cards with them, something to eat was to find either in the
commissary not far from the training halls or at home, where you could cook for yourself if you wanted
too. Leaving the housing grounds was only permitted for training and schooling and for nothing else.
Contact with others was allowed, as long as it didn't turn to private of nature - what smashed some of
Miroku's hopes with one of the girls totally- and contact to grown up demons was only allowed under
supervision. In fact it was a simple three step system to keep in mind. 1) You aren't allowed to leave
the base, only if given leave or allowed per order, and even than only if you tell exactly where you go.
2) The partaking in schooling and training was a must, as well as the following of orders from
supervisors and officers around, as it was the returning to the house before the curfew at ten. 3) You
wasn't allowed contact to demons without supervision or order to do so… it was quite simple and
Kagome only was almost relaxed to have rule three around after what she heard of all this demons
today. Especially the words of the doc made her uncomfortable about being here, but the thought on
the help her father would get made her shrug it off.
"The last rule is comparable easy, you aren't allowed to phone with anyone outside expect for one call
per month or letters that you could write…" Sango finished her speech and waited for questions that
didn't come. Kagome hadn't promised much contact, she simply had told her mother as they parted to
write letters how father was being and how she was; even if Kagome wouldn't always be able to
answer or phone. "Fine than you can go on your rooms now… waking is tomorrow at six, your bus to
the schooling goes at 6:30 and your uniforms are up in your rooms… all other stuff will be told to you
tomorrow by your teachers…"
Kagome was to tired from the day for much more and her arm was itching, so she found her way to
bed after wishing the fox boy good night. Shippou had taken a liking in her on first sight, never leaving
her shoulder for even one moment since he had launched himself there. She babbled non stop about
anything around till she finally closed the door behind her and locked it. Miroku lived in the same
house like she did now, three rooms down the hall but still. Luckily she got her own bathroom and a
lock on the door to prevent further perversions from his side but wondered why this unit allowed this at
all, perhaps they simply covered all this shit with this injections and the supervisors and all. She
shrugged it off quickly far to tired to keep awake much longer and was out like a light as soon as she
hit the pillow.
The next morning came far to quick and the knock on the door from Sango was far to loud. Kagome
gave a muffled wail of protest and worked her way under the shower and into the black uniform she
had to wear from now on. Wondering for a moment how pale she looked with her dark hair and the
dark cloths she wore now, but forgetting it quickly after she reached breakfast where the fox tackled
her once more.
The breakfast past and they made their way to the bus station three houses down the lane where a
collection of others already waited. Shippou on Kagome's shoulder whilst Kohaku walked beside
Miroku; Rin hadn't been there the whole morning yet so she doubted that the young girl would join
them to their first day. She felt a pulse of pain and loneliness inside her, asking herself again and
again what exactly could have happened with Rin, ending up with even more discomfort. Colourful
curses and rants called Kagome back to attention and made her look up to the bus station before
them.
"Oh yeah sure… that had to come.." Kohaku sighed from behind Kagome, seemingly knowing the two
guys who where up to tackle each other every second. One had long white hair and what seemed to
be a pair of dog ears on his head -seemingly the one she had once seen in the TV with Shippou-
whilst the other one had darker hairs up in a pony tail and a bandana around his head. Both seemed
demon and really, really mad at each other. Another demon with white hair, red stripes and something
that looked like a fur stole in some way, was standing beside them, doing as If he would ignore the
whole ordeal. Whilst two other guys with very strange hair styles yelled around bouncing around wildly,
trying to get in between the two demons. Crowd was gathering around and watching, Kagome, Miroku
and the two kids in front.
"Who are they?" Kagome asked confused by the show, or more by the fact that even she, who grew
up in a not really nice part of Tokyo, didn't knew some of the curses the two where throwing at each
other.
"The dog is Inuyasha.. and the other one is Kouga a wolf youkai.." Shippou explained shortly and was
shaking his head to himself.
"The two seemingly don't like each other huh?" Miroku wondered, leaning over to Kagome.
"No, they don't… especially since they are living in the same house…" Kohaku added shortly. "I
honestly don't know who set them up together, but whoever it was has no pity on the others living
there…" Kohaku seemingly was referring to the more than annoyed bystanders who either ignored it
or tried to get them away from each other, both in vein.
"You really can ignore the two, they are always fighting…" Shipou added with a nod. "And are just
mean to anyone…" Kagome nodded but couldn't keep herself from watching the two, kick each other
across the walkway directly into their direction.
The situation escalated pretty quickly as the Wolf swirled around and launched a kick at the dog, he
hadn't seen the punch coming and Kagome wasn't as quick as she should have been,
so she ended up on her ass with a yelp, pushed to the ground by the dog-demon who had landed face
first on her.
For a second she was shocked from the full body contact with the demon, than he moved and stared
at her, gold eyes meeting grey ones. He narrowed his brow in a frown and sniffed the air before he
started growling, red starting to sparkle in the corners of his eyes. He was up and on his legs again in
the following second, leaving Kagome spread out on the ground and wondered about what exactly
had just happened.
"You stupid wimpy little wolf!!!"He cursed turning away. "Now I am really mad!!"
The wolf demon on the other side pretty much ignored the dog and pushed him aside without much
care for the tantrum he was throwing, stepping up to Kagome and past Miroku who had just reached
out to help her. He gave her a bright apologetic smile, showing his long fangs in the corners of his
mouth. "I am awfully sorry… really, you have to excuse the mutt he has no manners…" He reached
down and helped her up, even picking some dirt out of her hair. "Are you okay…?" Kagome nodded
blankly. "That's good…You must be a new student here.. am I right.. I must be right, I never saw such
a lovely woman here…" He smiled, annoying the with anger boiling dog behind him to a point of
meltdown. "I am Kouga… Ochi Kouga to tell you my full name… and your name is?"
"Higurashi Kagome…" She answered a bit overwhelmed.
"Oi.Stop flirting with the bitch there wolf turg and finish what you've started…" Inuyasha growled from
behind, flexing his claws in anger.
"Hey?" Kagome yelped.
"You should not call her bitch.." Miroku stepped into the arena now, ready to defend his housemate.
"And who exactly are you to tell me that?!!" Inuyasha barked growling and stepped up to the man,
sniffing the air. "A human… huh…as If you had a chance here…" He snapped at him.
"If you would excuse me for a moment…" Kouga gave her a apologetic smile and turned, grabbing the
demon with the dog ears by the collar of the black uniform he wore, reeling him around. "Stop barking
Hanyou…" Kouga growled. "You are but a shit stronger than him… and nothing against a full blooded
youkai…" So he was a Hanyou, Kagome observed; a half dog demon.
She was about to get over her shock and find her voice as the other demon with the white hair
stepped in between the whole thing, bringing anything to a halt very effectively with one single beat
over the head of the Hanyou and a glare for the others. "Stop this tedious spectacle you filth…" He
growled, not showing one emotion on his face before he turned and walked back to his spot, waiting
for the bus that just had arrived to open the doors.
Inuyasha growled but collected himself, gave Miroku a glare and stomped past the others into the bus,
a highly amused Kouga, his two wolf minions and the others following. Kagome had pictured her stay
here less dangerous than that, getting into a demon brawl on her first day was something she clearly
wouldn't write her mother. But she could not help but wonder over the guy with the dog ears, there had
been something in his eyes for a moment that made her know that he only pulled a show on the others
here. Something was behind this golden eyes and she would have loved to get that out.
The rest of the morning was half way bearable; not more dangerous situations in sight, expect for
Miroku's hand perhaps. But she hardly would get rid of him for the time being because he was stuck
with the most classes that she also visited, mostly chemistry, biology, math and other still very
traditional classes but also things like meditation and healing herbs found their way onto her very, very
full schedule. Her new supervisor for this kind of teaching was a old, one eyed lady named Kimura
Kaede who walked around in the traditional cloths of a Miko and seemed to be the grandmother for
most of her students, bringing a bit warmth into this world of black uniforms and concrete walls.
There weren't many human students around and of those in the first semester Miroku and her were
the only human participants all over the base. What brought her back to the demons that where all
around her; some seemed to be so dangerous that they even wore collars or at least they looked like
that. What brought back the fact that the Hanyou this morning had no collar around his neck, he didn't
look as dangerous as the others too, well expect for the claws and the filthy mouth. She was shrugging
it off again and tried to listen to Kaede and her explains on demon kinds and such. Kagome couldn't
help herself but felt all day like a leave that got blown around from the wind, all over the base without
much of an orientation at all, but the worst part was a meeting with this Kikyo person shortly after the
first break.
She looked so cold and distant that even the white haired demon from this morning had been overly
charming compared to her. The tall, pale woman had intimidated all around her so much that the
ocean of people in the hall parted for her like Moses had done with the red sea. Passing Kagome with
a glare that felt like a knife buried in her heart for a second as she walked past the younger girl,
around the corner and into the room were Kaede had her office.
The next meeting was hours later on the hall. She was full with books and with the kitzune -who had
found his way back from his classes on her shoulder as the lunch bell rung- meeting with Miroku in the
hall, who had tried his handiwork on a older student with the result of another slap and was rubbing his
cheek with his normal innocent look.
"You can't let it alone.. can you?" The kitzune muttered and switched to his shoulder.
"Well, it's my curse…" He smiled innocently once more and tried to excuse his behaviour.
"It isn't your curse…" Kagome muttered, eyeing him dangerously. "So don't dare it…" He nodded
grinning and returned his attention to the demon beside him who had just told some strange joke as
Kikyo past her the second time. This time the glare was even colder and with so much spite in it that
Kagome felt even more ill than the first time, there was simply something wrong with that woman. She
gave her shivers down her spine, whilst Miroku's only comment was that not even he would dare to do
his hentai on that one.
After the break they moved back to the bus station to reach the training area, Kagome had her first
lesson in bow practice whilst Miroku should demonstrate his fitness, half way expecting to embarrass
themselves awfully, at least as long Kagome was concerned.
(1) I already referred to this happenings in the prologue, as well as the thing with the riots and the
demons in Kyoto.
